I visited PC's Restaurant & Lounge for lunch on Thursday, April 21, 2022. My hopes were high since the parking lot was loaded with cars. Note: post-Covid this restaurant is open every day from 11-2:30 PM for lunch, and 5-9 for dinner. They are closed Mondays and open at 9 AM on Saturday and Sundays for breakfast. Upon walking in, I noticed this is a very large restaurant with a spacious lobby, waiting area and small room with video games. The bar, to the right of the front door, looked long and had a few patrons. Inside, the dining area had dim lighting. I ordered the Thursday special, which was posted near a pig statue in the reception area. This included a red chile beef enchilada casserole, side of Spanish rice, and refried beans for $11. The enchilada casserole appeared to have been left over beef enchiladas compressed, mis mashed, and resold in a casserole. The chile had no heat and the rice tasted a bit flavorless. The free sopapilla tasted great and had a light and airy dough. My food had a lukewarm temperature. The food here is average New Mexican fare. No real heat to the chile and bland Spanish rice. Prices are okay, but you can get much better New Mexican food at other restaurants. read more

Love pc restaurant, we go quit often. Local place everyone knows everyone usually the food is really good, today we went there to eat, there were 3 of us. We ordered 3 bloody Mary's. Worst drink ever. No ice mixture Was thick, my son ordered a smothered burrito green chile. It came Xmas red and green, so we sent it back so they can change it. All they did was put it on a new plate. And cover the burrito with green chile. read more

We came here after my grandmother's funeral looking for somewhere that was on the way out of Santa Fe. My parent's drive up from Rio Rancho all the time to specifically eat here and say the chicarones are the best. I didn't get them because my stomach already hurt, but the taco plate was great. Chips and salsa aren't complimentary, which always strikes me as odd and a New Mexican or Mexican place. I got the taco plate which was great, good portion size and out quickly. My partner got Green Chili Cheese Fries, he liked them, but said he likes mine better (that's a smart man). My sisters both liked their dishes as well. The sopapillas seemed sweet on their own which was a little odd, but they were good. One part that needs attention was the restroom. One toilet didn't flush and I couldn't imagine going to the bathroom there. We actually went to allsups next door. A gas station bathroom was cleaner than this one. That makes me knock it down two stars and be a little concerned about how clean the rest of the joint is. read more

I was recommended this place from a gal I met. I can honestly say that this place does not live up to the 4.3 rating it shows. It was a short 5 minute drive from my apartment. We got there at 12:35 pm Sunday afternoon. We stood in line for 12 minutes when the hostess told us to wait a couple of minutes as she was attempting to ring up a customer. I could tell her math skills were challenged. We finally got seated and waited another 15 minutes to be acknowledged. There was never any chips and salsa bought to our table. In fact, we found out that you need to buy the chips and the salsa too! We quickly ordered as we didn't want to wait longer. Another 15 minutes pass and we finally get our meal. My wife had the beef tacos and myself the beef burrito. The beef had no seasoning so our tacos and burrito was super bland. The waitress stopped by once to see if our meal was acceptable, never offering to refill our drinks. The bill came. The 4 taco plate normally comes with corn tortillas but my wife ordered flour tortillas. We were charged for the 4 taco plate but was charged $1.04 for each street sized flour tortilla and were only given 3. My burrito was too bland to finish. If you plan to pay via credit or debit card, they charge you 4%, as well. Rip offs! Never again. read more

While this is not a "destination" restaurant it is an excellent place for casual meals with family and friends. They have wonderful traditional New Mexican foods, terrific green and red chile, a nice bar and fast, friendly service. The dinning room is clean and comfortable and parking is easy. We've been coming to PC's for years and we're always happy to get here and satisfied when we leave. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

Today I returned to PC's for the second time in as many weeks to enjoy a delicious lunch. This time I was accompanied by my girlfriend, and while I ordered a Navajo Taco (Christmas), she had the chicken enchilada casserole lunch special. Our food arrived quicker than either of us expected, and we were both pleased with what we got. My Navajo Taco featured beans, beef, lettuce and tomato piled on top of frybread and smothered in cheese and chile. Though delicious, it proved too much food to finish in one sitting. The enchilada casserole that my partner ordered was enthusiastically received, and a portion also had to be taken home to be eaten later. Last week, my stuffed sopaipilla was on par with the best I've ever had. These two experiences, plus the friendly service, ensure that I will soon be back. read more

Pluses: world's best sopapillas and that's not nothing. Dirt cheap and huge portions (a significant plus but there are plenty of dirt cheap, generous places). Minuses: decor is dismal, dirty, dark. Service was slow. All food other than sopapillas was mediocre, though good heat level on everything, I have to say. Beans were blah; no rice I don't think for any of our dishes. Enchiladas were swimming in the pool of orange grease typical of a cheap Mexican restaurant. So I'm saying - 5 star sopapillas; 2 star everything else. I'm thinking 3 stars overall is pretty generous. read more

We can here with huge expectations. Huge. Last year when we stayed at the Fairfield Inn (down the street) the staff told us this was the best New Mexican food in town. A must in Santa Fe, they said. We tried twice and arrived during periods they were closed or stopped serving food and just had the bar opened. Fortunately, this year, while driving through, we were seated and got the try the famed food, we were told. Compared to the other places we ate in Northern New Mexico, the food at PC's was average, at best. After a recommendation from our waitress (who was very good) we each ordered the chicken burrito. Mine was covered Christmas Style (red and green chili) and my friend had all red. Sure, the burritos are massive, but the flavor fell short to match any of the other places in town we tried. The chicken inside the burrito was bland and the sauce was just ok. It wasn't the awesome New Mexican experience we we pegged. Still, the food here isn't bad, but might suffer compared to the wonderful competitors nearby. Santa Fe is loaded with top-notch and affordable New Mexican options. If you are in town just for a day or two, you might want to try some place else. But, for a local why not give it a chance. The burritos are massive. Yes, massive. read more

Such rave reviews of how great this place was supposed to be. I wasn't overly surprised to read on the front door the plea for consideration and patience with the unfortunate understaffing they were experiencing. Like many of our own places in Denver, this place obviously was facing the fallout from returning to "normal" following the pandemic with too few resources to help serve those who came to eat. I placed by order with hostess at 6:10 pm. An easy order considering it was simply and order o 3 chicken tacos, an order of chips and salsa and an order of the "Wednesday Special" a chicken,enchilada casserole. At 6:20 the hostess brought out what she told me was "the first half of your order" (the chips and complimentary Sopaipilles), assuring me the rest would be right out. For next 30 min I waited, watching her eat her dinner in between seating others, texting friends and other people's food coming out quickly after they had ordered.. Finally at 7 pm I asked what was taking so long ( I was really trying to respect their request for my patience due to understaffing). She said she'd check, returned apologetically to infor me that the kitchen had misplaced my order and was preparing it as we spoke. She returned in less than 2 min from when she came out to tell me what had happened with my food. No compensation for my 50 min wait ( I mean not even taking off the charge for my chips or a free soda for the road'. I returned to my hotel in less than 4 min. Opened the food. ICE COLD and congealed! Not Luke warm , ice cold! The kitchen had not forgotten to make it ( nor had they remade it like she said they were doing). Nope, clearly She had forgotten it when it was originally put up and then knowingly handed me 50$ of inedible food. The hard shelled tacos had become comply soggy and when picked up disintegrated around cold chunks of chicken. The Wednesday special was mush, most like the result of the copious amount of green Chile they had poured over something indistinguishable to the naked eye. Not one piece of chicken could be excavated from the congealed mountain of mush. It again went into the bin and we spent another35$ on snack food from the Marketplace in hotel. I understand the challenges of understaffing due to businesses trying to return to "normal" after the pandemic with less staff than they need. All of us patrons are doing our best to support you and exercise patience and understanding with your challenges. But one would hope that integrity and honesty on the part of the proprietors would be paramount. We all make mistakes, but taking accountability for them, making it right and not sticking your understanding customers with $50 worth of crap, doesn't really seem quite fair. I tried to let the business know, but just like when I called to place my order, my call to speak to management went unanswered and the lovely robotic operator who answered their phone encouraged me to call at another time when someone would be available to help me. No thanks. Choose one of the other 4.5 star Mexican restaurants would be my suggestion, but be sure to check your order with a careful eye before you leave the building. Maybe it was an off night, we arrived and were given a menu at the front counter and told there should be a table in there somewhere... We found a table and looked over the menu and saw that they charge extra for chips and salsa (seriously should have been the second clue of bad things to come). The chips came out a bit stale and the salsa was not great. Then came out the main course a chicken burrito. The thing was massive... then I took the first bite. Well the chicken was salty and Horrible, the beans were still hard and that was all that was inside. They smothered it in a overly spicey red sauce. Try to imagine bad chicken some raw uncooked beans in tobassco sauce, if that sounds you are insane and the perfect customer for this place... Long story short if you are hungry go anywhere else the food is BAD if you are starving and standing in front of the place, save your money and just go to the dumpster in the back the food there could not be any worse. read more

My boyfriend first took me here a few months ago and then about a week ago. I was reminded of how much I loved the place! We arrive a little before opening, which is the only downside of the place, their hours are a little off. We sat in the lounge and munched on chips and salsa before going into the dining room. I had the stuffed sopa and the red chile hit the spot. I'm usually very picky about it but it was so delicious. Also the chips were fresh and cripsy and warm. I've been looking for places off the beaten path where Santa Feans head for good food, away from the crowded restaurants for tourists with their high-end prices. I think PC's fits the bill. The food was traditional, the chile had a kick, and the menu covered all the basics without being too big (big menus scare me, just do a few things right and that's good for me). First of all, sit in the bar. I think that room has more character (and characters). The waitress did claim they had almost any bottle beer we could want and but not our first three choices. But hey, we didn't go there for beer, it was for chile. I think the only other issue was one of my friends pointed out the honey for the sopapillas probably wasn't honey. Okay, I've seen the expose' on the local news, honey is hard to come by but hey, it's a sopapilla and it tastes great. My dinner companions got cheese enchiladas with red and an egg, I got the bowl of red chile with beans and carnitas. No complaints. Dinner for three with drinks was about $45, awesome for this town. Nothing going for it. Dark boring interior with charming touches like a table setup with to go containers stacked up on it or perhaps a plate collection which would look better in a Crackle Barrel. Only one salsa, no heat okay flavor. Green Chile has no depth of flavor. Our Chile Relleno was very cold, had to be either previously frozen or big batch made and this time not reheated properly. Enchiladas tortilla really chewy, just took out the insides and ate it with the chips. Salsa and Guacamole served in plastic to go cups (classy). Just too many New Mexican / Mexican options in town. Changing our standard to at least 4 stars to try a place. Obviously not returning here. read more

My husband and I were seated in the late afternoon, it was hot and uncomfortable outside, but on the verge of COLD inside PC's. We were not greeted by a server, nor were we given menus. I flagged someone down and got 2 menus so we could start our selections. 20 minutes later we had no water, no acknowledgement or any recognition of us being there at all. My husband is Native, and I am white, so MAYBE that is the issue? What am I supposed to believe? We walked out and didn't get any recognition as we walked by the cashier and walked out the door. Went to this restaurant because my coworkers took me out as part of my goodbye lunch. I ordered the special that day and it was just okay. I do like the layout of the restaurant. Service could be better. We were in a big group and the lady rarely came back to check on us. What made my day was their sopapilla! Yesterday we were at PCs, we were a group of 9(nine). They were short staff(only one cook), it took over two hours to get our food, the green chili was extremely hot, we were charged $13.50 for chips, salsa, and guacamole per table where in the past the cost was $7.50. The drinks were over charged. This is a family owned restaurant so we wanted to give our service to you but our experience was so awful it will be hard to consider going back. Please if you don't have the staff don't open and please don't over charge for items we were already used to paying. I know the closure has been a hard ship but you will lose customers if you keep functioning this way. read more
