The store was well laid out and great deals throughout the store. I loved all of the amazing clothing deals and seasonal Christmas items ! What I love is using my PC points app for the deals here. The staff is all super nice and friendly and the parking was not terrible at all. It is a bit dated and hopefully they extend the clothing area someday but it was all very lovely and I really enjoyed all of the items in the store and deals. Superstore, you aren't at the top of my list of grocery stores, you barely make the list if it weren't for your low prices. And at least this one seems brighter and more spacious than the one on the westend but still not as clean as other grocery stores. Usually I check the flyer beforehand and if there's something that's a steal, may venture to Superstore. Saturday afternoon brings a steady stream of shoppers but also lots of check outs so can get in and out pretty quick if you just need one or two items. I saw some guy walk with one a small container of potato salad so he must've had a bad craving. There's a bench at the doors and phone line direct to a taxi company if needed. The parking can get busy and leaving or coming in the main entrance where the lights are can get congested. read more

What can I say, it's a standard cavernous Superstore location. Each one of these are a bit different and so when it's a location I don't visit often I find it hard to navigate, but otherwise I have no complaints. We found some beverages on the most recent trip and my friend got some Terra chips that he was seeking and we went and had a nice relaxing chat on a picnic table nearby. Not a bad time. Pros: Quality of food chosen has been pretty good so far. Prices are far better for produce than Safeway & Save On Foods. Go for organic produce like fresh bunches of spinach and kale to save money. It might be helpful to note that I use pick-up service for this location. Pick up service: wait times can be long for orders. We've sat in the car and waited up to 15 minutes. Not sure why as I always include a time when we will be there for pick up. And twice, we've seen someone park in the pick-up only stalls and go inside. People just don't read. The same woman also almost hit me with her car door. Substitutions: give them an option to choose for substitutes. Most of the time I get 95% of my order. They were good about telling me that they don't carry things like yellow zucchini. I also appreciated the free bottle of water & cookies upon pick up. All in all, it's been a good experience with Superstore. Cons: the parking lot is insanely confusing and people are maniacs when zipping in. Be careful. read more

This is probably my least favorite Superstore location. My favorite being the St Albert one. Although the layouts are similar there are still some differences. I feel that this location has less room and feels more cramped. It's also a little more run down in ways that I can't really explain. I also don't really like the parking lot. It's small, somewhat convoluted, has subdividers all over and is hard to get in and out onto Kingsway. I do like that they have Starbucks and Pho Hon Pasteur in the same stripmall and one of the best Whiskey liquor stores in Edmonton across the street (Chateau Louis). Cheap prices, if you can actually get anything. There are constantly stock issues, especially with anything that is on special. I've gone 3 times in the past 2 weeks looking for No Name BBQ chips and of course 3 times I went home without BBQ chips. I would estimate that I'm able to get about 50% of what I'm after on any given occasion. The Save on Foods down 109th I can usually get 95-100% of what I need on any given occasion including sale items which are about the same price if not even cheaper than Superstore so I don't understand why the Superstore has so many stock issues every time I visit. read more

This superstore is the one closest to my home and the one I shop the most. However it is probably is one of the more poorly stocked superstores in Edmonton. Even shopping at 10am on a Sunday there are bare shelves. Many times I ask the clerks if there is more parsley and have been told there is no more left for the day. That's ridiculous! Frequently there is empty spots in the produce section where there should be staples like cucumber and tomatoes. I find the cashiers and staff pleasant and helpful but I am considering finding a new location but this is a continuing problem. read more

I really like this Superstore and shopping there. I actually even look forward to going there sometimes! I can't say definitively if it's the newest Superstore in the city or not, but I do know that it only opened up this year. The store is big and bright and actually clean, and the aisles are nice and wide. Everything is well organized and I've never noticed low stock on anything (except when they ran out of strawberries that one time). I've been there a few times now - a couple of times on the weekend and once in the evening - and it's truly not that busy, especially compared to other Superstores. Another one up on the other location I go to is the check out time. I'd say it's comparable to a regular grocery store and way faster than other Superstores. There a some self check out machines, too. Besides groceries, they have a Joe section with clothes and - new! - makeup and my new faourite, cheap nail polish (3 for $10 in lots of cute colours). They also have the standard book section and pharmacy/toiletries, and what looks to be like some sweet housewares, although I haven't browsed through that section much. This store is a bit further from where I live so I don't do all of my shopping there, but I enjoy the store when I do get a chance to go. read more

This is probably the worst Superstore in the city - it's tiny, lacks the selection of most, is quite dirty, has a really annoying parking lot to get in/out of (there are a couple rows that you have to get past 3 stop signs to get out of), has a much smaller parking lot than most, doesn't have a gas station.... I could go on. The veggie section here is a decent size but the pickings tend to be slim. The actual aisles have way less stock than other locations (I couldn't even find chocolate covered pretzels :( ). And did I mention it's dirty? It's just dirty. I usually drive to the location in the west end rather than go here (even though it's closer to where I live), but occasionally it's worth a stop if you're just picking up a couple packaged items or milk and eggs. read more

Superstore in Clairview...should be ashamed for jacking their prices right before Christmas. We shopped there and know the prices suddenly we went December 23 and we were blown away at how the prices had gone up more than anywhere else even for a simple no name bag of chips. Prices were raised almost 20% on grocery and products. Produce was the worst. Superstore use to be decent and fair but now after yesterday I now know what a price gouging company Superstore is. ...Effecting low income families everywhere. read more

This is one of the locations nearest to my home, so I do go here often to pick up groceries. Because of the location, I know they have troubles finding staff. On a Sunday it is next to impossible to get through a checkout in a decent amount of time and the shelves are usually very empty. If you ever need help to find something, good luck finding a staff member! When you get a chance to shop when the shelves are stocked, they have a decent selection. The bakery is okay, but I would much rather go to an actual bakery for fresh bread and pastries. I like the self-checkouts. I find it hard to find a grocery store where people actually pack your groceries well. I prefer to do it myself. One of the main reasons I come here is the pharmacy. I am able to have a prescription filled while I shop. They have free flu shots (with Alberta Health Care Card) during the flu season which is also handy. read more

This super store is just Okay...convenient that it's located close to downtown but you can also tell it's super close to downtown. I've been approached on my than one occasion in the parking lot by people asking for money, food, or my cart so they can have the loonie. This isn't a reflection and does not impact my ratings, just a word of caution. If you want to come to this location late at night, don't come alone. We found that this superstore always seems to be out of something. It's not even usually something that is a special delicacy or items that you can't stock. (They also always run out of things at the bakery during mid morning on a weekday?) For example, we buy a lot of no name spaghetti, and over the past year, we've noticed they never seem to have any stocked! Dry goods can last a long time but it just seems like they don't care enough to get more stock in. Once it's out, they're out for months? It doesn't make sense. In addition to not ever having stock, I find this superstore to be a little dirty and dingy. I've been there and seen huge puddles of spilled liquids and no one to even tell. The only good thing is the location and the policy that every till is open on the weekend peak times. I find that the wait time is actually a lot shorter over the weekends than going for groceries at 10am on a weekday. I will continue to return to this superstore, but only because I don't feel like driving an extra 20 minutes. read more

I'm so happy we finally got a Superstore near downtown! It is my favourite grocery store, particularly for non-perishables. Their prices are good, probably some of the best in town. I know some people don't like bagging their own groceries, but I am kind of maybe a bit OCD about how my groceries are bagged, so I prefer doing it myself anyways. Although I usually go through self checkout... My main complaint is that service is hard to come by if you need help. They finally added more people at the tills which is great. Prices are good, your kinda on your own if your trying to find something, but that's ok. Quality of food is great. A little dated inside and out but what drives me crazy is the parking lot. The parking lot is like hand-to-hand combat. People blowing through stop signs, people parking at the door, it is so busy. So if you can survive the parking lot chaos.... then it's a good place to shop if your in the area. read more

Awesome location near Kingsway and downtown. It's not excessively busy at any time and items are well stocked and easy to find. Staff are helpful for the most part. Would recommend shopping here rather than the Gateway location if you're from central Edmonton, as the Gateway location can be extremely busy at the best of times. read more

I don't expect much from Superstore except groceries at reasonable prices and not having to wait eons in line. This one always offers up either a mediocre or frustrating experience. Tonight was the first time I had both. A lot of the time they never have what I'm looking for, like canned mushrooms for example and their produce, especially non-root vegetables aren't worth it. Today, I spent more time waiting in line than actual shopping and found only half of what was on my list. Thankfully I don't have to go often and will choose a different one a little more out of the way to save some aggravation. read more

Big box stores are not my preferred venues for shopping, but sometimes I just need to load up on pantry staples and other essentials, and Superstore is the way to go. They have just about everything, at reasonable prices, and their President's Choice brand is often quite delicious (my favourites are the Jamaican Ginger Beer and the green tomatillo salsa - both seriously yummy!). It's hard to review an individual Superstore but I think I like this one best. It's not the largest one but I like the location. I must say that the PC brand is getting very good and it honestly makes me want to shop there more. They are cheaper than Safeway too overall so no complaints from me regarding prices. My only gripe is that if it's busy the last thing I want to do is hold everyone up because of my lame bagging ability. There has been a major recall on Superstore's unbranded $10 chicken fries as well as the unbranded $10 chicken nuggets. Today I returned 2 bags and was refunded. However, I went to the freezer section where these items are and the $10 chicken fries were still available for Purchase. I checked the bar codes on then and they matched the recall notice that was given. The recall was several days ago, and has affected those who have eaten these products due to salmonella. This should of been pulled immediately. I took photos of the product still for sale and the UPC code. read more

I only go to this Superstore because it's the closest to my house. When it's convenient, I'll generally avoid it. I've been grudgingly going there since it replaced the much-nicer Save On, at the same location, a few years ago, but it's a last resort. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can't even find a clean shopping basket. You have to dig through the stacks until you find one with marginally less grunge in it than the rest. On the upside, it's always easy to tell what items are on special -- just look for the gaping empty spaces on the shelf. Not that their prices are low enough to justify the charade of charging 5 cents for shopping bags. In general they're not really cheaper than Save On or Walmart. In general, I don't find other Superstores around the city are as crummy as this one. So I can't really blame the entire chain for this one black spot. read more

I just returned from the Superstore. I had to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy, which is the only well run department in the whole store. I intended to pick up some other items but as usual since they closed down all the quick checkout I noticed that all the five opened checkouts had at least three customers with full cart waiting in line. I left my basket in the aisle and went home, not wanting to wait fifteen or twenty minutes to buy five items. I Strongly Believe that if they wanted my business they wouldn't be constantly making shopping there a frustrating chore. Their alternative to fast checkouts is for me to do their jobs by using there self checkouts which I find extremely insulting of them. The small savings they offer aren't worth doing their jobs for them. It's already bad enough that they offer no way to keep the bags open when I have to pack them myself. Anyone who doesn't have a bank card or credit card can't use these self checkouts anyways. I don't use bank card to buy mainly because I object to paying a fee to use my own money. I used to shop at that store regularly but the level of service has deteriorated continuously the last six months. I have already cut up my points card and my PC MasterCard because of constant problems with them. The frustration levels of repeated blank looks from staff whenever I had a problem left me very stressed out. Five times in a two month period I had to waste time going to customer service because even though I scanned my card for points I got none and had to go to get it from customer service. They proved time after time that Customer and Service doesn't come within Shouting Distance of one another at this location. Most of what I used to buy from them I now get from Walmart.
