The customer service is really great. There was some confusion regarding the cancellation of service and initially I was told I have to pay for a visit. I have used Real Green as lawn care provider for over a decade. I would have continued to use their service if were not the two disasters they caused. I put new sod (Bermuda grass) for half of my yard in March. I notified Real Green before and after the new rod installation. In May, Real Green came in spray chemical after assuring me that it is OK. But it caused major damage to the new grass (the other half yard with established grass is OK). After watering a lot, the new grass slowly recovered. Then in the end of June, they came to spray again while I was out of town on vacation. This time, it caused more damages to the new grass. They sent a manager to inspect and told us that it is "recoverable". Are you kidding me? Real Green is supposed to be the expert in lawn care. After more than 15 years as a customer, I am extremely disappointed with the decline in service and accountability from this company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On May 6th, I contacted them about weeds and yellowing in my Zoysia grass, which I suspected was the beginning stages of Take All Patch. I received no service and no follow-up by May 26th, and by that point approximately 30% of my yard had died.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On May 26th, I received a bill for $227.38 with notes stating they could not service my backyard because the gate was locked. My backyard has never been locked, so I called to question the charges. I also noticed the bill included services I had not agreed to, including Chinch Bug treatment and Aqualizer. After questioning the charges, I was eventually informed that I had been billed for services performed on another customer's property. My account and credit card were charged for work done at a different address. The company credited back $109.40, but the remaining $117.98 was for services they claimed were performed at my property -- even though the original issue was that their technician had completed someone else's service under my account. When I asked how this could happen, the explanation was that it was "human error" because the technician did not verify the address. I was told they would provide coaching on address verification. That response was extremely concerning. If I had not reviewed the notes and questioned the charges, I could have unknowingly paid for another customer's lawn service. The manager did eventually come out and apply a fungicide treatment after reviewing the property, but this happened only after repeated calls and after significant damage had already occurred. I have been using Real Green for YEARS. I have never really been happy with their service & have no clue why I haven't fired them. These pics are NOT before pics. Granted, my lawn needs mowing, I wanted to show the entire weed before mowing. These are pic AFTER using their services for MANY years. My lawn is usually well manicured with the weeds cropped short. By mid-June, I should not have these issues. I complain every year and the managers make excuses. Like I mentioned earlier, I don't know why I haven't dropped them. Maybe I'm hoping it will get better? Not sure. I do not recommend their services. My neighbor dropped them last year and their lawn doesn't look any worse than mine. They also have not adopted TEXTING technology yet. It's 2024 - get with it!! I also should not have to COMPLAIN every year to get good service. After years of service and the extra care & irrigation I do, it should just be maintenance. Techs should treat the yard accurately & efficiently. I'm not sure why I have to keep griping to them. The pest control is okay however I suggest that if you have them care for your grass, stick to the highest tier membership (for st augustine grass) otherwise the tier below that one does not really make a difference to your yard. Don't make the same mistake that I did... my yard is terrible now but unfortunately I cannot afford 100 bucks a month anymore. But when their treatment burned my lawn, I reached out, only to be told they had no record of the service being performed. I started them for lawn service, and it's been pretty run of the mill so far. Getting the core aeration took forever to schedule, and when they called a day or 2 before to say to water it before hand, which would require hand watering since it's not a day I can run sprinklers they said they didn't know their were watering restrictions, and it was another 2 weeks before they could reschedule. The actual aeration was average I guess. It seemed like several places like the corner of the fence there was a sizable 2' x 3' patch that I guess the machine couldn't easily do so they just left it. I bought a manual aerator on Amazon so I could touch it up myself, but also feels weird to do that after paying someone for aeration. Honestly not familiar enough to know if that's normal. While doing it they damaged a sprinkler head so had to have someone come out to fix it. They sent Justin out to fix the sprinkler. I let him know I hadn't had a chance to make sure no others were broken and he said he'd run all them to make sure. We recently bought the house and knew we eventually would need to look at making sure the sprinklers all worked correctly, and at least one near a flower bed we'd already noticed before didn't work very well. He thoroughly looked at everything, and made a list of recommended fixes. He said he fixed one broken pipes for us that was really quick and easy. He also fixed the rain detection sensor thing without us asking... it was one of those things we'd been meaning to do for a while and just never sat down to figure out how. I'm still unsure how much I like real green from a fertilization / results stand point, but can say if I ever needed anything done with my sprinklers, Justin was amazing and I'd hope to see him again. read more

Prepaid for a year in 2021, let the whole year go by as the yard only seemed to marginally improve. Paid $800/$900 cant remember exactly. Time to renew for year 2 and I said no thanks - they sent someone out and he seemed apathetic about well the weather is not under our control...it has been a year? When I was sold a full year in advance I was told the year would look great in a few months, well I waited the full 12 and I'd say it looks 25% better. I think for $800 I could have done a better job myself, but the whole point was to pay a company to do it. Waste of my money and my time. The office staff was always friendly, the techs were always on time. I don't know I still can't rationalize paying for 25% improvement? Would you pay full price for 25% of your meal and give a good rating. I just can't. Sorry steer clear of this place. In response to the company's comment: I was told I could re sod the area but that they did not recommend it, that it would clear over time. As they are the 'expert' I hired, I followed their advice. The original salesperson assured me in a few months it would all be looking good. 12 months later it looked about the same, and as in the response - the weeds were not even fully removed after 12 months! I prepaid for one year lawn treatment and was looking forward to seeing some positive changes in the health of my lawn, and felt like I was making an investment. While the summer in 2023 was the most challenging summer I've ever seen in terms of drought, there were still multiple things that I would want other homeowners to know before committing to a plan. 1. With the drought, the paperwork left on my door explaining what had been done, continued to prescribe 1/2" depth of water per my twice weekly schedule. I watched my lawn completely turn brown and I lost some grass. I trusted experts, and well, they don't seem to be looking out for me. This one is on me, but beware that they are not partnering with you to keep you informed based on actual conditions. They are checking a box with a normal recommendation, in abnormal conditions. 2. Sometimes I would get paperwork showing what was done on the visit, and sometimes I wouldn't. There was no pre- or post-notification that my services were scheduled. This led me to believe that either they didn't come by, or if they did, they failed to leave notice. With my pre-pay, was I paying for something I didn't receive? 3. When I called to cancel, they told me all services I pre-paid for were to complete with the last treatment in December, then the contract would not renew per my request. I never received paperwork on my door in December. I called in February, and was told that they moved to paperless communications, but that I had not given them an email address, so I didn't get the notice that the last treatment was on February 1. When I asked them why they didn't contact me via phone to get my email address, I was told that I hadn't provided one originally, and that I could add one now. The lack of communications about policy changes when I am under contract is not professional. It is almost impossible for me to believe that they don't have my email address, because I would have provided it on the service set up form or given it had they asked me. I did notice that they left a promotional sign at my curb recently -- maybe when they did the February 1 treatment. They weren't paperless on their self-promotion. I wasn't cool with that, and I threw the sign in my trash immediately. I learned a lesson about pre-paying (for anything). It wasn't a great experience with this company -- not in the results with my lawn, and not with feeling like I was informed. I would not engage them for anything in the future. 10 year customer. Real Green started out so well. They kept things, well, real green. I even referred them to two of my neighbors. But, as time went on, the service began lacking. We noticed more and more weeds growing and phone calls to them only left me frustrated and upset. We were told more times than not that it would take 14 days to get someone out to 'look' at my property. So, we had to get out and pull weeds by hand. So, we decided to watch closely as their 'associate' came out to 'treat' the property. It soon became clearly obvious why we had so many weeds. The 'associate' would just spray randomly never making 100% coverage. We watered and mowed as directed...as usual but the weeds just returned. Called them again and complained and was promised that someone would be out within 10 days to treat. Well, I happened to be home when they came by and just observed making no contact. Again, a sporadic treatment in the front and side yards. He didn't even go in the back yard!!! The back yard was completely neglected!! So, I called and reported what I had witnessed and was told that they could follow up within 2 weeks. So, having had enough, I fired reel green right then and there. The young lady was argumentative and then told me that I owed them $4.31.....lol ....she asked, "Can you take care of that now?" I replied, "Bill me." She said, "Ok," and just hung up on me. I believe that with the area growing so quickly, they are really focused on only landing new accounts. To hell with the long term clients. The staff and crew are exceptional. They are onsite when promised and never mind spending time talking to me when I have questions. I do not recall ever needing to call them for a return visit. I seem to have the same story as many other Real Green customers. Service is good (in most cases) and everything is okay until you decide to cancel!!! In my case, my hours at work were cut and we needed to trim our budget. When I called to give notice, I was a bit alarmed at the remark the customer service person made: "I will reconcile your account and we will send you a bill for what you owe". I thought it wouldn't be a problem, since we signed up for one year at $29.95/month and have used the service much longer than that and always paid monthly. We received our "farewell" bill of $110.44 today. When I called to question it, a very robotic and condescending account supervisor, Melody schooled me in contracts and credit services. Apparently their business is contractual and "like a credit card". so when you end your relationship with them they, "reconcile your account to make sure you have paid for all the services you've received and charge you accordingly." I have never had a credit card company come up with an additional fee after I cancelled the card. In the interest of transparency, this should be a part of a customer's monthly bill!!! What was most disturbing was that she knew she had me in a corner and had no intention of making any type of concession or mediation. She just kept repeating what we owed and that she would be sending a detailed reconciliation to me via email. Wake up, Real Green!!! Your arrogance will be your downfall! When the customer is "always wrong(ed)" consumers grow hostile and will adamantly urge others NOT TO USE YOUR TYRANNICAL SERVICES!!! BUYER BEWARE!! Real Green is an okay company until they're not, and when you humbly ask for something to be rectified, it will be dictated by their rule, always! This is obvious by the reviews I've read about the company and the responses from the company itself. They do not want you to be satisfied and they will not make amends (hello, if your billing system is confusing to so many, CHANGE IT!) but will tell you they will do what they wish to do, end of story. Even though Real Green had just sprayed for our quarterly pest control only a month ago, we had spiders and small crawling bug in our house and enclosed porch. I called and our serviceman, TRAVIS POYNER, came out just a few days later. He thoroughly sprayed around the perimeter of our house, inside the porch and inside our attached garage. Then he sponged the eaves around the house and on the porch. Immediately we began to see dead pests! We were so impressed with the promptness of his return, as well as the long time spent doing the job. And all of this was for no extra charge!! Real Green really is real great! read more

I was very please with the lawn service and my lawn love better than it ever has . The service technicians that worked on my lawn and trees were very friendly and knowledgeable. My only disappointment with this company is with their accounting system . I used them for about a year and a half . When I stopped my service with them my Acct was paid up for my monthly billing for that month. They figured out the services for your yard annually by dividing by 12 to get your monthly charge. My final bill was equivalent to about 3 1/2 monthly charges. They told me extra work was done that was not included that had not been billed for yet. I think they could add extra services done to the month they were completed so your account would be updated each month. I don't like getting a bill equal to 3 months when I end my service with a company. !! read more

Has been a good service for pest control until you cancel that is. Then they go back on what was said at final service and canceling where there should be no balance due and a final free service still final bill is for 2 extra months charging for all services over last years compared to payments amount. I would say it's a good service just be prepared they charge you extra if you cancel, if in first year I think it's even extra $155 plus their extra months charging. We switched from Emerald to Real Green. Night and day difference. We had Emerald for 2 years before we switched to Real Green. We have had Real Green for a year now. Completely transformed my lawn. They actually do proper lawn treatment. Emerald guys would come and be done in 5 minutes. Sometimes they wouldn't even step on my backyard. What a scam. Real Green guys spend more than half an hour each time. Lawn is completely free of weed this year and grass is super healthy and lush. One of the biggest benefits of Real Green: they do manual core aeration once a year. This is very different from chemical aeration. Core aeration really improves the lawn when you have compacted soil. So far, very happy with Real Green. So are my other neighbors who use them. My #1 recommendation: the mosquito treatment! We couldn't even walk outside without being eaten alive. Within hours of the first treatment we didn't see a single mosquito until the day before the next treatment. It works! Very worth the money. Yardwise, I moved into a new home in 2019 and the yard was mostly weeds. Having Real Green treat the yard for one entire year got rid of all the weeds and allowed the grass to flourish. I've run into hurdles with my weed treating regimen with Real Green - which were all my fault so it's fair to say that RG has done a fantastic service. After all, I believe they are one of the highest-rated service providers in the Austin area. When you're selecting a weed controlling service you're going to have a tough time because there is so much that can go wrong and is outside of the business's control. For example, I had no idea that my lawn had to be mowed within 3 days after weed treatment to stress out the weeds. And every time I disregarded this, my weed problems would never go away. After following instructions (which I should have done earlier)..VIOLA! 99% of the weeds were under control. Absolutely fascinating. RG is digitally "upgraded" meaning that they contact you with email 1 day prior to visit, send you instructions to tell you what and how to prepare. They also have a great scheduling service that can be scheduled/cancelled through the web. It's great to have businesses that are digitally prepared this way because I can't afford to spend time on the phone for 20 min/business to talk to someone and get all this sorted out through a person. In sum, I've been happy and will continue to use their services. All my lawn/tree problems have gone away since they started so I only have good things to say about them. Before we found Real Green we had service with White Knight Pest control and my wife was bit by scorpion. And that was not their only issue. Lupe from Real Green came out and took care of the wasp nest in our 18 ft patio which White knight would not do. They removed slides nests with eggs that were up there as well.
