I received emails, text messages and confirmations along the way from setting up the appointment to do the work, when they would be here, how long the process would take, etc. It absolutely was refreshing to feel like a company really wanted to do their best work and make me happy as a customer. The crew showed up on time, they did the work, they cleaned up whatever minimal mess may have been made, and with the exception of the fact that they put some of their equipment on top of my new HVAC unit, which I wasn't thrilled about, everything was pretty seamless. Additionally, a portion of my gutters had detached from the roof causing water to spill out everywhere. The gutter section appeared broken and I believed it needed to be replaced. I triple bid the work, and the quote from Jonathan was on-par with the quotes from the other two licensed individuals I received bids from However, Jonathan was the only person who didn't try to upsell me on additional work or services. He is a very earnest person who clearly cares about his team and the quality of work they provide to clients. This integrity and professionalism extended to the gentlemen who came to do the cleaning and repairs. Samuel and Daniel arrived promptly at the scheduled time this morning (when does that EVER happen?), and were very polite and communicative about the process. As they began their work, they realized the detached section of gutters wouldn't need to be replaced, but could be reattached and properly secured again. I wouldn't have known that the work wasn't necessary, but they were honest and upfront and saved me literally half of what I had initially been quoted. Additionally, they reattached downspouts that were questionably secured, and did a spectacular job cleaning out the gutters and downspouts (see the before and after pictures). After another company gave me a pretty outrageous price, I called City Gutters, who evaluated my situation over the phone. After texting several photos, they said they could replace it for their minimum price per job and scheduled me for two days later. I won't be able to see it in action until the next heavy rain obviously, but it looks well-made. I'm glad I got a second opinion after the other company tried to convince me my style of gutters was so hard to work with, hence the high price. They also had no clue how to install a drip edge, drilling through the side of MY GUTTER AND FASCIA rather than nailing from the top. It's like they just picked up some random guys from Home Depot parking lot rather than using experienced gutter installers. They basically installed a colander instead of a gutter. It was so bad I had to get a lawyer and have them take down their work and find a new gutter installer. The gutter installers who came to bid (before the messed up install was removed) were gobsmacked how bad the work was, and one said it was the worst install he had ever seen and asked to take photos to show his potential customers how bad some other local contractors are. FOR REAL. I worked in both residential and commercial construction admin for almost a decade in the past and Lluvia's didn't even know the basics for best practices for installing either drip edge or gutters. I don't know how these folks have a license. The only reason I used them was because they were recommended by the manufacturer. I'm assuming they paid for that referral, or else have a friend that works there. I question the validity of their good reviews. Probably friends or family, or people who have no clue how gutters should be installed. Avoid at all costs.
