The home of the world famous KY bourbon ball. The staff was so welcoming and told us they still use Rebecca Ruth's original recipe from 1919. It is perfection. Creamy and rich and full of bourbon flavor. They sell various variety boxes and they have other kinds of liquor filled chocolates as well (ie rum). They also sell dark and milk chocolate sober chocolates. Bourbon toffee is incredible!

The sweet lady who worked there was so nice! Recommended the most popular items, gave us samples to try, recommended gifts for family members. Overall delightful experience! And the chocolates are amazing, if I could, I would have taken one of each but my stomach can only handle so much sugar!

What a neat little candy store with a huge taste! I've wanted to stop in for a couple years and finally got the chance today. They are famous for their bourbon balls and I can see why. DELICIOUS!!!!! I was even given a bourbon ball for a sample. And as far as samples go, it dosent get any better than that. All the chocolates/candies are made in house and they even offer tours of the chocolate plant just down the road. With all the different candies/chocolates offered this is a chocolate shop well worth stopping in.

I love to shop here for second bourbon balls from Buffalo Trace Distillery. I thought I had reviewed this location before and we stop here often coming back from Frankfort or Louisville Kentucky since it is on our way back to Lexington Kentucky. The store has a lot of neat gift items and all kind of chocolates. The store is a nice stop and when available we buy the bourbon balls since they are a bit cheaper and since they are for us we don't need the box. There are many other candies in the store as well.

If you are on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, you have to try Rebecca Ruth Chocolates. Especially the Bourbon Chocolate Balls. I love this place. So vintage and old school. It's a tiny little store with memorabilia and different assortment of candy and chocolates.

So on our way to Louisville Kentucky yesterday, my wife and I drove by this place and I told her that on the way back we were going to stop and pick up a box of chocolates. So we stopped today and after we got to the door, an older man welcomed us in. Might I add it was a very warm welcome. We had told him that this was our first time here and wanted to look at getting a box of chocolates. Well to my delightful surprise he offered us a piece of chocolate and let me tell you, it was delicious. You could taste the bourbon in the chocolate and it was so rich and creamy. Talk ABOUT satisfied your chocolate craving, oh my!! This certainly does the trick. So as you can see in the picture we bought an assortment of bourbon chocolates and we have tried each one. For just $37, (plus an assortment of other choices of chocolates) this place won't disappoint. Looks like this may be a start of a traditional item we won't pass up when we drive by it. Let me tell you this, if a good chocolate is what you long for, then I highly recommend this place. Can't WAIT to go back for more!!

Store close to the distilleries. So definitely make a detour. Old school bourbon balls is what you come for.

I was greeted warmly and offered a sample of one of their well know bourbon candies with a single pecan on it.

All that I tried were delicious. The bourbon ball, Ruth's Mint Kentucky Colonel, the pumpkin spice. The business has been around since 1919 and is a fourth-generation KY business. I found their business brochure at the Kentucky welcome center and was intrigued immediately. The story of Ruth Booe and her candy making techniques which led to her and her friend's success. Be sure to try or get some of the original "Bourbon Ball" Invented by Ruth Booe in 1938. It consists of a creamy bourbon center with the kick of real bourbon, covered in dark chocolate, and topped with a Southern pecan. I did taste that kick when I sampled it. I purchased a variety box of make my own as well as some bourbon balls to take back home for family and friends. Got my mom some dark chocolate toffees since she loves toffee. The store is cute and welcoming. Staff is super friendly. Go check this place out and support local and long time business!

We were greeted on the porch by Callie, the sweetest gal in all of Kentucky, who offered us an umbrella since we were walking to find lunch! I promised to bring it back and off we went! All of the employees are amazing, very friendly and you can tell they love what they do. Callie went out of her way to make sure each customer was treated special, she's the best of the best! Our tour guide was Elizabeth who, although very new to touring, was excellent. She knew the factory well and was able to answer all but one of our questions; where'd the Kiss wrapping machine come from!! The factory is small and run by just 9 employees, complete with the Lucy station!! The chocolates are perfect small sweet confections, rich and creamy with that old time goodness. The tour was quick and ends in the candy store, how perfect is that!

Wish I could bottle the smell of this candy factory from the parking lot & share it with everyone!…read more The smell takes me back to reading the book Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. For 120 years, Anna's family passed this amazing recipe down & after working in her parents basement she now sells all over the world, even to Williams Sonoma. And now Vegas regularly. I'd rather visit the factory when in Kentucky cause they make the candies & package them freshly for you right there. Also to visit w/ Anna, she's such a wonderful passionate woman. Huge fan of the Bourbon Sea Salt Caramels mmm... perfect amount of salt to keep you wanting another piece. The Chocolate Modjeska's are what I wish I had for my s'mores since I was a lil kid! The Original Caramel Modjeska's are not only divine alone, but quarter them & the Bourbon Seat Salt on top of your sweet potatoes. Oh, heavens! Homemade, down to the marshmallow in the middle and I'll never like regular store bought marshmallows again. Also we got a recipe for the Modjeska's from the Food Network. Perfect lil gift from the heart & soul of Kentucky & for yourself & loved ones. I have been a regular since October & have gifted many people including my horse grooms cause I wanna share it w/ everyone. Mmm it's so good!
