    Toasted Coconut Dream Extreme
    Angela T.

I am so proud to be a UNLV student and staff. Personally, my favorite part of campus is the Hospitality Building. Hospitality has always been an important part of Vegas and UNLV. Now, they've added an amazing opportunity for our students to experience hospitality and management firsthand! Rebel Grounds is a cafe where hospitality students can apply and work, to build their resume and still be close to school. One of my favorite things about the Rebel Grounds is that their student workers can create a drink of the week! My student crafted the Toasted Coconut Dream Extreme and it was so good, I got it twice! The drink is only $5 which is super affordable but the only con is that they don't take cash. Staff was amazing and drink was satisfying! Go Rebels!

Next time you are at UNLV or if you are a student I highly recommend this spot for coffee and snacks. They use mother ship coffee roasters beans and can brew a mean cup o joe! Also this is a bit of a hidden gem because it is NEVER busy. Skip the chain coffee spot at the student union and make your way over to the hospitality school building instead. Plus pro tip, the cactus garden is right next door and a perfect spot to enjoy your morning/afternoon beverage. Go Rebels!

Love this place for its location as well as its prices. It's located in the hospitality building across from the Lied Library, and when I'm hungry and have class near the CBC, I usually drop by here for a snack. It's run entirely by students, and they do a great job of running the place. Also, compared to the Coffee Bean and Starbucks on campus, there is no line out the door here when classes get out. The most I've ever seen is a few people in between classes, and the staff work through them quickly. I've come here a few times, though I'm only reviewing it here once. Being a creature of habit, I usually get Jasmine tea. The tea is a simple enough concept; they just put your teabag in a cup and fill it with water. I've asked nicely for a refill of my cup before and I've gotten it, though I wouldn't count that as a regular thing. Today I decided to be a little more adventurous and try the smoothies. Yelp gives a great $1 off promotion if you use the check in feature here, but it only works if your purchase is over $5, so I got a muffin with that. For a coffee shop in Vegas, that's not a bad bargain. The smoothie was great, and for 0.50 more you may as well get the medium over the small. The muffin too was actually really good, and naturally they can heat it up for you if you want. All in all, it's a pretty solid spot and I don't have any complaints!

This is the best coffee shop on campus! Coffee, tea, smoothies, and food are excellent. I've been coming here since it opened up this Fall semester and I've had a great experience every time. I usually get a special order of a black tea with steamed almond milk and sometimes some vanilla syrup. The staff are more than accommodating to make this off-menu drink for me. It is made just right and the prices are best as to the other chain coffee shops nearby. I've had the monte cristo sandwich, which is delicious and made in house. Again, price is more than fair. I've also had the pina colada smoothie and it's delicious! So, if you're on or near campus head to this great coffee shop and enjoy great quality coffee and tea, friendly staff, and best prices inside the nicest, newest Hospitality building at UNLV

Welcome to Rebel Grounds, an entirely student run cafe in Hospitality Hall, the new Hospitality building at UNLV

This is such a friendly place to go to! This is a new cafe at UNLV which allows students to have more options when eating and getting their daily dose of coffee! I recommend patience with this location as they only opened a few weeks ago! I love that there are multiple alternative dairy options for those who are vegan or lactose free! They create special food and drink options which make for new creative choices! I believe this place is reasonably priced for the coffee given. Happy Eating!

I'm not sure why it isn't the go to stop for coffee on campus. I see the lines for Starbucks and coffee bean and I'm so glad that i come to rebel grounds. Not only does actually taste much better but the prices are so low for the quality you receive. They also have a menu of food items such as the Chipotle Rebel and Monty Sando which are both super delicious there is a few more that i have yet to taste. I advice you to try out both the hot and cold Lavender latte's they are both equally delicious and its a perfect time to try the hot latte for the cold weather.

I put all these things together so you can save it on your phone and have this at a moments notice.

Love this coffee over the rest here on Campus. Interesting flavors, and decor inside is super nice. I have no complaints.

This coffee shop is located on the unlv campus in the hospitality hall and if I am right is mostly run by students. I strongly support this kind of business and the service is excellent!! I had the lavender lemonade and it was very refreshing. They have a wide variety of food and drinks so definitely try it. Lines and waiting time is definitely less than SB.

Quick and very convenient for an on campus coffee! The coffee is a little too sweet sometimes, but it tastes good nonetheless.

I haven't had a beignet since I was in New Orleans, so I was really excited to see them here! I ordered the beignets, which were $8 for two pieces, and honestly, I didn't think that was a bad price. They make them fresh, so they came out incredibly hot and covered in a generous amount of powdered sugar. They were literally AMAZING! They were warm, fluffy, fresh, and everything I was hoping for. If you love beignets, I definitely recommend stopping here. I'm so glad I did!

We could only use it at a short list of designated eateries. 2. Most of these were quite busy at 11:00 on a Sunday morning, or else they were actually just Starbucks. 3. We slept in after staying up until 4:00 and had about half an hour after packing to buy food, check out, and leave for the airport. Once we eliminated all the unrealistic and unappealing options, we were left with District: Donuts. Sliders. Brew. Like most of its neighbors on the third level of the Cosmo, District is an outpost of a popular restaurant from another state, in this case, Louisiana. The Vegas location is a small, busy take-out shop with a takeout menu featuring donuts, sliders, and brew. There was a short line, and we split up in order to get to the airport on time. I was dropping postcards off at the FedEx while one of my friends waited to check out and the other to order our sustenance. I relieved her once the order was in, so she could then head to check-out. Took some choreography, but we got our free brunch. I don't know what ordering was like, but pick-up was okay, except that they called my name at what must have been a low volume, then acted annoyed when I went to get our food, like they'd been waiting on me forever. Sorry, I guess? The food was okay. We took it to go and ate at our gate, so we didn't enjoy it fresh out of the oven/fryer/whatever. I got the hot chicken and honey butter French toast biscuit, and it was heavy on the honey and light on the heat. Not terrible, but definitely sweet. I got tired of eating it about halfway through. I tried some of my friends' burrito and beignets, and both were solid enough if not that interesting. The high roller burrito came with chorizo lardons, egg scramble, havarti, sweet potato, pico, and jalapeño sauce. The beignets were traditional New Orleans-style fried donuts, fluffy and coated with powdered sugar. It's possible I don't have the sweet tooth for a meal from a donut shop, so if you like your sugar, you might enjoy District more than I did. In any case, it was better than a sad Starbucks sandwich, a worthwhile way to spend our credit.

Tra Viet is located on the 2nd floor of the Venetian in the canal shops. If you take the escalator by the food court and then head to the shops, it'll be right there. It's a super tiny place. They have 3 kiosks you can order from. There was one person working the counter that could also take the order. I love coffee and I've never had Vietnamese coffee before, so I was super excited to try this. I went with the classic Viet. If you can make a normal coffee well, it's going to be a winner in my book. It was sweetened with condensed milk, which made it unique and absolutely delicious. Smooth coffee flavor and not too overly sweet. Came in a cool can that was mixed by a machine before serving. Only wish I had, was that I could pop the top off and get the very last of the coffee from the bottom. The ice blocked it. My husband got the jasmine milk tea and said it was fantastic as well. I'm never happy about the prices in Vegas but it is what it is. For $9 a pop, it was worth it. Next time we're in Vegas this will be our first stop for coffee. Can't wait to try all the flavors.

I love trying Vietnamese coffee whenever I get the chance, and this one was super tasty, creamy and definitely hit the spot. It is quite pricey, especially as a Canadian once you factor in the exchange rate, but honestly that was expected given the location inside the Venetian. There was also quite a bit of ice in the drink, so the portion felt a little small for the price, but expected since it was Vegas ! Overall, a great experience and really tasty Vietnamese coffee. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're already exploring the Grand Canal Shoppes and want a good coffee pick-me-up.
