I'm rewriting my review because this company flags and deletes negative reviews and I still want to share what happened. I have been a patient here and worked with several different providers. Every time I finally got used to someone, they suddenly aren't working there anymore. I asked my most recent provider if he was planning to leave soon, he said no, and POOF! now he's gone too. The front desk staff also seemed to change constantly, which makes the place feel unstable. When my most recent provider suddenly wasn't there anymore, I ended up seeing the clinic's owner. The appointment felt rushed, I didn't get an after‑visit summary, and no one replied to the messages I sent afterward. Based on all of this, I don't recommend this clinic if you're looking for steady care or good communication. read more

I'm finally getting to posting a review for Dr. Phonexay Simon, which is long overdue. I began seeing Dr. Phonexay at the beginning of 2020. I came to her for help with one particular thing and, after a couple of sessions, confirmed that I had found a rare, authentic, and deeply talented practitioner. It's clear this work is her calling, and she appears to really enjoy what she does. Dr. Phonexay is equal parts effective Chinese medicine science and the art of the intuitive. Her work is truly holistic and healing; she has been and is a critical part of my journey. I don't say this lightly, as I am very discerning with who I work with and the time I spend...it has to be significantly worth it. Many people have asked me for her information. I appreciate that she keeps her prices accessible when she could charge much more due to the efficacy of her work. I've had an excellent experience getting Potenza on my face and abdomen. Phonexay spent time with me figuring out the best investment for my goals and I felt like she really had MY best interest at heart..in fact, she even suggested the best treatment for one of my concerns would be a treatment they didn't provide there! I had consulted with a few different places and this felt by far the most trustworthy and thorough. They had a very holistic approach to things which I loved. They took amazing care of me here, I felt like I was in a spa lol...I got an IV to help with hydration and extra nutrients to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with things I could do to make sure I get the best results with good after care, etc. They were also helpful in helping me save money by packaging a few treatments together. I had Potenza done two years ago somewhere else and it was pretty painful. I was soooo surprised how much less it hurt with Phonexay, and I'd asked for pretty aggressive settings! I think it was how much care she put into numbing my face beforehand, spending quite a few minutes making sure it was well rubbed in compared to the other place who just sort of put the cream on and left it, which I hear is the norm. Overall, I'm excited to go back for my second treatment in a month or so cause the results are already really noticeable and it's only day 4! read more

The staff at this establishment are so incredibly kind hearted and passionate about the modalities they practice. Their team has unique specialties that are incredibly difficult to come by such as Biofeedback, IV therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and Acupuncture to name a few. I was visiting Seattle and super blown away by the treatment I received. Dealing with an incredible amount of stress as of late and have never felt more myself after leaving the office after receiving acupuncture and energy work from Dr. Barnes. Dare I say it was one of the best acupuncture visits I've had in a long while. Being a student of Naturopathic Medicine, I feel grateful to have been able to sit in on multiple visits and observe how Biofeedback is utilized and paired with mindfulness modalities to observe how our physiology react to stressors. Had the opportunity to sit on on visits with Dr. Simon & Dr. Schule & highly recommend their expertise for anyone in their area. 1. Money/possible insurance fraud: made a BIG mistake not reading reviews before scheduling a day before my first visit- I showed up to be told I'd have to either pay a $50 extra fee for something that is covered fully by my insurance, and the thousands of dollars in insurance premiums, or if I didn't go along with that then I'd have to pay $100 for a late cancellation fee. I even spoke to a co-owner and she insisted I pay the extra fee, even though she knew I was not getting any kind of service outside what my insurance covered. I understand if it was a cranial treatment, or biofeedback but it wasn't. 2. Willful disregard of what I asked them NOT TO DO! I specifically REFUSED any chiropractic adjustments- in fact it's CONTRAINDICATED for hyper mobility which is what I went in for-my back can go out easily from even yoga positions. I told both the doctor and one of the owners Dr Andrew directly that i did not want a chiropractic adjustment from them at all. Thinking, I was getting an assessment while lying on my stomach in a phys med room that stank of B.O., where I had to actually take out my own scented hand spray and clean the uncleaned phys med table MYSELF! the doctor gave me an adjustment that immediately put my back into spasm and sciatica down my leg. 3. though it was obvious how freaked out I was by this, not a single person followed up to see if I was alright as I limped out in shock- shocked that they would be so reckless and uncompassionate and focused on the finances by disregarding the important things like competent listening and the legality of undermining their insurance contracts. I really hope this review gives them pause, and they look into their business and clinical competencies. read more

I arrived at my appointment this afternoon to be told that Rebel Med NW charges an administrative fee of TWENTY GIVE DOLLARS per THIRTY MINUTES of EVERY visit with a provider. This is on top of whatever your copay is, and whatever the charges are the they send to your insurance. It was explained to me that it was because insurance companies are charging them so much, they have to charge the patient more. (To be clear, I was told that this information was sent to me prior to my visit via the patient portal, it still came as a shock.) Just another shining example of what's wrong with our health care system. This fee puts getting care with Rebel Med NW financially impossible for many, and further drives home inequity in health care. The only people who can be patients with this clinic, are those who can afford to pay an administrative fee above and beyond what they already have to pay, not just every time they see a provider, but every thirty minutes with a provider, and every visit. I'll start by saying that the staff here seem very empathetic and I appreciated that a lot. Appointments are easy to make and they don't try to upsell you on other services. However, based on my experience with their lack of communication regarding billing, as well as the procedures themselves, I don't think I will be coming back. Acupuncture - I consistently felt sharp pokes coming from the needle and a lot of pain (rather than soreness) at the acupuncture sites during acupuncture sessions. I wish the needle administration could have been more gentle and mentioned it to the provider. Although I'm sure she tried to accommodate, I didn't feel any difference. Moxibustion - I was burned a couple of times. This came as a surprise to me and when I mentioned that I was getting burnt, the practitioner just said oh, oops, and brushed the burning bits off my body without providing ice or anything. Along with the painful acupuncture, I found the whole experience very unpleasant and I ended up dreading going to these sessions and eventually discontinued my treatment. Billing - I'm not sure why I kept getting billed extra for services. Like when I went in for acupuncture, there would be multiple items for "extra 15 minutes of acupuncture" for one session. My own fault since I didn't see the charges until the bills were sent to my house, and I felt embarrassed and a bit afraid to call in and contest it, since the providers themselves do the billing - but definitely something to watch out for. Some time during my treatment plan they began to charge me an extra $25 per session, which couldn't be billed to insurance and had to be paid out of pocket. I was confused until coming to yelp and reading a customer's review on yelp that this was a new charge they'd implemented. I feel like the billing practice should be more transparent before they automatically charged your card. Lastly I want to add that I developed painful rashes all over my body from getting acupuncture here. Aside from chicken pox symptoms as a child, I haven't experienced skin issues in my life. Initially I didn't realize it was caused by the acupuncture, but the rashes and pain persisted for months and I finally went to a dermatologist. At the dermatologist clinic, I was told that the rashes, which turned out to be clusters of tiny blisters, was an allergic reaction that could be caused by several things, one of them being chromium in acupuncture needles. In my consultation I hadn't told my dermatologist I'd been going to acupuncture. But, getting acupuncture here was the only thing that was new in my life, i.e. I didn't change shampoo, skin products, diet, routine or anything else that the doctor mentioned could've caused this reaction. So I think this is maybe just something to watch out for if you get acupuncture here. read more

After years of NDs, acupuncturists and DCs, I've found a practice I will stick with for life. The team at Rebel Med is the most caring I've ever come across, AND they accept insurance. The only time I've come even close to this level of care, it cost me an arm and leg every visit. Dr. Jessica Schule has been dilegent in her treatment plan while respecting my personal wishes. She also offers financially reasonable solutions. Vitamins and supplements offered at Cost (less than Amazon), a relationship with Bastyr allows her to prescribe tinctures custom made for ailments, and an ND license also gives the flexibility for medical prescriptions too that are sent electronically to my pharmacy. You can even book appointments online. This is truly an amazing practice! You're not just a file, you're a human being being treated by human beings who want to care. read more

I was a first time patient after I suffered from a minor concussion from a fall while snowboarding in early March. This was also the first time I have ever taken a spill like this where I got whiplash and some aches that were bothersome, in addition to dealing with post concussion symptoms. I saw Dr. Simon for an evaluation and for a chiropractic adjustment. From the beginning the customer service from the entire staff was warm, professional, and welcoming. Dr. Simon was very attentive to my questions and took the time to explain the importance of healing properly from my concussion. He also recommended specific food and supplements I can use on my own to aid the healing process from the trauma my body went through. The other neat thing is that Rebel Med has vitamins and supplements that are available at the clinic for purchase. In addition, I saw Dr. Phonexay Lala Simon afterwards for my first ever acupuncture visit, which was a treatment I have always wanted to try. I was initially nervous because... you know...needles! But I had no need to worry because Dr. Phonexay Lala Simon was wonderful at making me feel comfortable and was very professional with treating me. It was a very seamless, relaxing, and an amazing healing process for me to experience. I am extremely happy for the professionalism from staff and the treatments really helped me get that kickstart I needed to work on self-healing. Less than two months post fall, I was back to 100% (with mental and physical rest the first week). And as a very active person, it meant a lot to get natural treatment to my injuries that align with my values of health and wellness. I appreciate the honesty and sincerity of the staff and the values of the clinic. I am definitely a fan and will continue treatments to help aid the aches I get from my desk job, but more importantly to me, to enhance my mind and body as I increase my activity level with the various sports I partake in. read more

Both Dr. Simons and and Dr. Fegan are as good as it gets when it comes to support for chronic health care needs. I have struggled with chronic GI issues for many years and have seen many different kinds of providers. I have a lot of complexity with my condition and the team here has approached it with a lot of care and grace and that is huge when you've been trying to get better for a while. They've really been able to put in the time to listen to me and work with me which is very rare in my experience. Theses providers are the best in-class in my opinion and Rebel really is an excellent home base for your chronic healthcare needs. Biofeedback - I've never been open to things like mindfulness and meditation, but Dr. Andrew shows the benefit of these tools through technology. Super rad, I'm in. Naturopathic care - Dr. Andrew can prescribe medicine, labs, referrals, essentially anything a conventional doctor can, but this is a slower style of medicine designed with way more tools and resources used to get to the root of the problem. I love how he always writes me a post visit summary; super hard to remember everything that happens in Drs visits and not all doctors provide you with a summary! Dr Andrew has been really intentional about my history and coming up with a care plan via supplement routine, lifestyle changes and medications that I feel has worked together symbiotically to get me in a better place and closer to my optimal health. Actupuncture - Dr. Phonexay does amazing body work in concert with acupuncture and has provided me with tons of perspective about my health and life. Dr. Brendon Fegan is really fantastic with herbal approaches (found one that works well with my condition) in conjunction with his acupuncture. Also they light incense that is super cleansing and I crave it in between appointments. Lisa at the front desk is super cool as well and always helps me out with scheduling, billing etc. Oh, and they can keep your card on file, which saves so much time when you're a frequent flyer. I was referred to Reb Med NW for my frozen shoulders. I had been in a lot of pain for months and had very limited use. Originally I was scheduled to received acupuncture with Dr Phonexay Simon. Unfortunately, I had a miscommunication with the front desk and didn't think it would be possible. Upon hearing of the situation, Dr. Simon, made the necessary adjustments so I could still be seen. When I met Dr. Simon, she introduced me to Sofi, Reb Med NW's massage therapist. Sofi specializes in frozen shoulder and asked if she could sit in and assist Dr. Simon. I was thrilled to have her part of the team. Dr Simon took a few minutes to ask specific questions, and then proceeded to treat me. I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed with Dr Simon's treatment. She was incredibly intuitive and confident with her approach. I have been treated by five acupuncturists in my life, and Dr Simon as been, with out question, the best I have experienced. Afterwards, Sofi worked on my shoulders. She was amazing as well. She took the time to find the exact area of need and worked on it while describing to me what she was doing and instructing me in what I should do to help the process. I had previously worked with a physical therapist, and massage therapist, but didn't experience the results like I did with Sofi. I am convinced, if we had more time, I would have gained most, if not all, of my mobility back in both shoulders with these treatments. What a great experience. This clinic had vaccine appointments available on a Saturday...and much sooner than any of the other providers in my area. They were also able to accommodate my mother-in-law as a walk-in (though we may have been the last walk-in that they were able to see given vaccine stock). The provider that we saw was also great, and even though they were fairly busy, he spent plenty of time with us and answered all our questions. If you advertise about taking walk-ins you may want to have someone at your front desk to greet customers. We waited about 30 mins and no one has acknowledged or even helped us. All we needed was a b-12 shot. Also, if this is your first time, they will charge you for a completely useless consultation which basically doubles the price of the shot. read more

Khai is an amazing acupuncturist and so knowledgable about natural healthcare. I've gone to her with a variety of aches and pains over the past few years and she always knows exactly what to do to make me feel better. She's eclectic and combines cupping, electrical stimulation, and light massage with acupuncture and I always walk away feeling that I've gotten just what my body needed. Dr. Jessica Wendling is hands down the best doctor I have ever had, and I've seen a. lot. of doctors. Her appointments leave me feeling confident and inspired, not shamed or frustrated. She listened to my full health story, and keeps everything I say in mind while we talk through solutions. I came to see her after developing a sudden case of chronic (read: daily for months on end) migraines. I had sought help from a different naturopath, two GP's, an endocrinologist, and a neurologist, all who had no solutions but to put me on drugs for the pain. I see Dr. Simon and can't say enough good things about him. He goes at a pace the paitent is comfortable with, he isn't pushy, he has products on hand, he is quick, on time, and understanding. I can get appts that week and he has great prices if you don't have insurance and is willing to work with you. When I had to switch doctors because my old doctor was leaving I was anxious and overwhelmed, but I'm so happy with my choice and he has made the transition super smooth. I've been to many doctors in the Seattle area, and Dr Simon is one of the best I have found. Here are some things I've really appreciated about Dr Simon after working with him over the past several months: 1. Listening skills: He is an attentive,, active listener. 2. Educates: he really takes the time to educate you about yourself and set you up for success & to maintain your optimum level of health on your own. 3. Education/background: His specialized knowledge over many fields: nutrition, fitness & exercise, chiropractic, mindfulness, breathwork, biofeedback, and naturopathic medicine. Many times I've had a question in concerning one, and he very specifically relates to another that other doctors had never pointed out. 4. Works with your budget: Very respectful of where you are at financially, won't pressure you to spend more than you can currently afford on treatments, supplements, additional complimentary care, etc and is quick to pass on any affordable or free options/alternatives, resources and/or tools. What I appreciate about Fit Naturopathic/the Facility: 1. "Teaching Aids": Forgive the language here, coming from a teaching background, but as a visual learner myself, it's come in handy that Dr Simon has a big screen Mac computer that he can flip your way to help you follow his explanation of a particular system whether that be anatomy, chemistry, musculoskeletal system, etc. 2. Reception: the receptionists are welcoming and professional. They have also been in my experience very responsive (returning calls) and responsible (to follow through on what they say they will do, relay a message, call back when they will, give you accurate information, etc). Unlike many offices, they almost always answer the first time, there's no little to no wait-time or need to leave a message which can lead to needless confusion/complication, and then there's always: 3. Dr. Andrew Simon and staff provided an inviting yet professional environment to receive care in. I appreciated his straight forward approach to my health. I was able to get my questions answered without feeling rushed like with many doctors and his answers were knowledgable but easy to understand. In addition, Dr. Simon was able to provide me a dietary plan to help me improve my energy and feel less inflamed and he didn't overwhelm me with supplements either.
