Shoes the manager at Recess said are too worn at the bottom.

Liars! Brought in a pair of Christian Louboutin platform sandals very cute and wore them a few times, too high, and decided to sell. Called the store first, the day prior. They changed the price from what was quoted on the phone. So the girl took the shoes over to her manager, so she said* and returned to the counter saying the shoes were too scuffed to sell. Makes no sense. I've never seen anyone wear a Louboutin, and the bottom had no wear. Didn't like the strange look received when the door was finally opened either, standing there trying to be buzzed in. After thinking about the customer service received, I called back requesting the manager. She then states she told the girl to say the shoe was out of season. Really?? No sandals are sold or bought in California year-round? It is obvious you are PROFILERS, yet you are located in a community often speaking about the way people treat you on a consistent basis. Next trip there will be secret shoppers just to prove this point. OWNER, don't reply. Just get it together unless you want the store on the news for poor customer service and differential treatment. These days, people are prepared to lawyer UP. Need a receipt for authentication? just ask. Don't play games. Not your FOOL.

Classy store owned and operated by two classy, intelligent ladies. Ample parking and spotless with many WOW items. Must visit to appreciate.

I still feel that they were a bit wishy-washy, as I really appreciated the ease I had in dealing with Marie at Recess.

I've been on a huge vintage kick lately, so this store has been my go-to source for old tees. My reasons for going vintage are primarily environmental since the carbon footprint and resources needed to make new clothes are substantial - and incredibly wasteful when there's so much awesome used clothing out there. Another reason: Your friends can't copy your style. Most recently, I picked up a few tees from the 1970s and 80s. Being in L.A. they get a lot of local and California vintage shirts with logos, designs, and jokes that only true Californians would get. I couldn't resist buying a Castroville "Giant Artichoke" tee they had over the summer. Personally, I tend to gravitate towards regional finds like these because they bring back such great memories of my youth and of family road trips up and down my home state. They also carry old college (Go Bears!), high school, and everyone's favorite - summer camp tees. Plus, you cannot beat the vintage fit from the 70s/80s. Caveat: Today's "S" is equivalent to an "M" or bigger because people were presumably thinner back then. So do your part for the environment and look effortlessly stylish doing it by shopping used and vintage! And there's no better place in L.A. for this than Raggedy Threads.

I love them, and I love true vintage t-shirts and what I love more are the people who are able to identify them and notice them when I wear them. Those are the folks that know, although I'm in a t-shirt it didn't come at a regular t-shirt cost. They appreciate my purchase as much as I do ;) Well... I'd heard Foxhole has reasonably priced vintage and they seem to. Seemed on par with other places I shop for shirts. I was also very excited to slip into a few pairs of vintage cut offs. I found the cutest pair that fit like they were made just for me. I didn't have to worry about alterations with this pair and chose it over another more boyfriend type fit that I have something fairly similar to already. Patches are also there thing here! They have tons and Fox mentioned she can sew them onto something nice if you have a collection of your own. Which, my boyfriend does! I'd love to be able to convince him to let me have Fox make something neat out of his childhood collection so it's not just sitting around the house in a box but he can display it and see them. We'll see... In the meantime I selected my own super cute Hot Air Balloon patch to have sewn onto the back of my new high waisted Levi's cut offs. I can't wait for the rain to stop so I can step out in them. They are adorably hot if that makes any sense at all. Adorably sexy... I don't know one of the two, maybe both. Met Jeff when I returned to pick them up a few days later. He is also very nice. Definitely do yourself a favor and stop in if you love vintage Denim or any and all of the above. I also picked up a really cute shamrock shirt to wear for St. Patty's Day with my birth year on it. Thanks Foxhole for an awesome first experience. I'll surely be back for overalls and more.
