Had a roof leak two years ago. The guy (Bob) came out promptly, promised that the fix would last forever. Two years later, had an ice dam that broke his fix and the roof is worse than ever. Charged me $3.5k for emergency ice removal, then promised the moon and "doing things right" and "we wont leave you hanging" for months. Every time it was waiting for the weather to get better, being out of town, etc. I have texts from him going for months of trying to get him to come out and fix the situation until eventually he just ghosted me. Do not work with these guys. They promise the moon, and do not deliver. read more

They were extremely responsive and communicative throughout the whole process. Unlike other contractors, Recon Roofing and Gutters leverages technologies like drones and satellites to map the size of the roof instead of traditional measurements. We were able to finalize the contract, check references, and start the roofing work within one week based on their fair assessment and responsiveness. Frank also went above and beyond to fix a leak with the central AC unit and replaced some lead panels on the chimney during the new rubber roof installation. After sending someone out to take a few pictures of the area, I never heard from him again even with multiple follow ups. Overall wonderful service and quality! When I first contacted Bob I was in a bit of a panic because we were having trouble with water leaking into a neighboring apartment that was supposedly coming from our clogged gutters and roof. Bob was incredibly helpful and responsive and was on-site within a few days of my initial call. He was able to quickly and professionally assess our situation and offer a reasonable solution to our water problem. Bob even went out of his way to show up at a condo association meeting to ensure that everyone was hearing the same recommendation and was comfortable with the plan. I am not the type to usually review on here, however I want to be upfront and warn anyone thinking about even considering going with this company. Bob at first seemed very responsive and was able to come and do the work; however he does not provide any information on his workers compensation or insurance, nor does he have you sign a contract; all you get is an invoice with very limited information as to the scope of work to be done. We would've ended things from there, since the work was done, however it did not stop the leaking issue that we had. When asked to come back he was verbally abusive and extremely unprofessional with both my wife as well as my neighbor who had the leaking problem. We will not hire him again. read more

Unbelievably rude. Told me that because I live in Belmont that I should be able to afford his outrageous estimate. I told him that not everyone in Belmont makes a ton of money and that I'm self employed. He replied that I have nerve to think that $300 to replace a fallen gutter elbow was too much money. read more

The worker that we encountered that was working on our neighbors house was incredibly unprofessional. Swearing at me while my toddler was in my arms and threatening me. This was over the fact that that they were parked illegally in a residential spot and we pulled in behind them and they no longer had room to move their ladders in/out of the truck. I would never recommend that anyone hire someone so unprofessional. read more

I would not recommend them. Poor communication and was told they were going to charge my insurance company for downspouts and it was never summit. The sub did a terrible job on them. Was also told it was an Iowa code that all the downspouts need to match. Contacted my insurance company and was told not to pay them until the job was done right. read more

Recon did some repairs and upgrades for me after the Halloween storm did some damage. I waited 'til now to write the review because I wanted to see how the gutters performed in heavy rain. They did very well. I was most impressed with his crew. I used to be a shop foreman, and recognize good workers when I see them. These guys are good; fast, efficient, professional, and left no mess at all. What more could you ask? read more

We had some gutter problems, mainly water pooling and not draining, and I found Recon over the internet. They were very responsive; I spoke to Bob, the owner, first, and he recommended cleaning and checking the gutters. Once I gave the go-ahead, they completed the cleaning within 3-4 days. He then recommended that we add a downspout to the trouble gutter and quoted me a very reasonable price. He actually came over on Memorial Day and did all the work in an efficient manner. He talked to us about options and was honest in saying that much of what he recommended could be done by us at a fraction of the price. I was extremely impressed with his work ethic, his forthrightness, and of course the end result, and will not hesitate to contact Recon Roofing with future projects! read more

The gutter cleaning went very well and they are going to patch a small aluminum siding problem for me. The price was very reasonable, and there was a 10% Senior Discount. I am really impressed with Bobby and his crew. I called for a gutter repair at 7:15 am and they were on the job an hour later; more than prompt. They were courteous and professional throughout the whole experience. They fixed the problem with a solid approach and then they cleaned out my gutters too, I hadn't even asked them to do so !! They did the job for exactly the estimated price on the phone and there were no surprises except pleasant ones. I think snarky reviews from peeps that aren't clients of a business aren't credible and I would ignore them. This is a great business and I will call them again if I ever need another roof or gutter repair. read more

Great service - I called and they were out here within 10 minutes cleaning out my gutters. This was great since I have found living in a three story home in Boston means many companies will not come to clean the gutters. I made a reservation a week in advance on their website to have my gutters cleaned. I had no idea the extent of the work that was needed so I chose the lowest estimate and noted on the reservation "Need a diagnoses on the issues I suspect this will cost much more" When nobody showed up I called them and received the most insanely rude response. The guy had no intention of coming and fixing the gutters. He said "I wasn't going to waste my time fixing gutters on your street for that amount of money" I said "that's fine just have somebody come to give an estimates and we can discuss cost." He interrupted me "I don't want any Bull $(#$ from somebody like you, how many units you have in that building" I was flabbergasted...I was a willing customer with a big job but he just was such an A-hole that he couldn't deal with me. Not to mention he wasted my time by not showing up at a scheduled meeting. Horrendous. read more

I am at a loss..Unbelievable unprofessional person. After a second contact to get a quote the gentleman (if you can call him that) started to get belligerent and said the cost of work was $3500 without even looking at the repair. To be fair I had a conversation with him a month ago to have a rain leader re-attached. he quoted me $1500 flat fee due to the height (5 floors up.) However I told him we may have some other work that may need to be done. He was nice enough and told me to go to his web site and fill out a quote estimate form and describe the work to be done and he would contact me. No word... Filled out the form again, per his direction mind you and sent off earlier this week. Again no word. So I called. He picked up and I introduced myself again. After going over what I needed done he said $3500. When I questioned why it had gone up from $1500 to $3500 he started to get irritated and said and I quote." You gonna hire me or not?" To which I said. "Well I would like you to at least look at the job first before you tell me the cost" To which he said. "Hey then why don't you hang out your third floor window by your feet and then see if the $3500 is worth the cost to you?! I do this every day and the price is cheap! You want to hire me or not!?" Well I obviously knew I didn't want to do business with him at this point so I politely said to him "I'm sorry but I think I would rather not do business with you as you are putting a lot of pressure on me" To which he said. "Hey I've been busy so I don't really care. And I hope you don't call me again because I don't want to work with an a$$ hole like you." To which I simply said "Thank you" and hung up the phone. This guy is a real piece of work. No way in hell am I going to hire this unprofessional person to work in my building. There was NO reason for the way I was treated. I wasn't accusatory in any way, just asked why the estimate went up. Forget that! I have no time for this kind of treatment. Use them at your own peril. read more
