Such a classy venue Grown and Sexy VYBES. The sound system is amazing !!! It's the perfect listening room, they have 1000s of Vynls. The space is a nice medium size, not too big it can still be intimate. They have a gorgeous bar and excellent cocktail program. We tried the Strawberry Fields and Espresso Martini and both were DELICIOUS. Quality is They close around 1-2 am so it's the perfect early night for those 25-35 Service was immaculate and fast, they do have small plates- French fries and chicken sliders etc. they do bottle service as well. I had high hopes for this place, which purported to be a vinyl listening bar with amazing handcraft cocktails. But unless you go for a specific event, if you go on a regular night you'll just find yourself at any ol bar with music playing from the speakers. It's fun that the place is hidden behind a coffee shop and the seating area does feel like you're in someone's fancy living room, but it didn't feel conducive for community building, with each group sequestered in their own space. I am relatively easy to appease when it comes to cocktails, but I will say I was wholly unimpressed by my drinks here. I got the Beware of the Boys with tequila, mango, tea, and the Hotel Nacional with rum, pineapple, apricot, and citrus and both hit one, flat note. $17 is not terribly expensive though, but they would have to redo their drink program for me to recommend. I had such a great experience at Record Room in Long Island City. The vibe is exactly what you'd hope for -- stylish but still laid-back, with early 2000's music that keeps the energy just right. I've been a loyal customer of Record Room since it opened and have spent countless nights there supporting the business, which is why my experience last night was so disappointing. I made a reservation through the Record Room event website for Suede Tuesdays. If reservations do not provide any level of entry access for this event, it's unclear why customers are able to make them in the first place. As someone who has attended many times, this was the first time I was denied entry despite having a confirmed reservation. When I spoke with the manager, Jeff, he explained that reservations are for Record Room but that entry to the event itself is first come, first served. He stated that this information is listed in the event details, but I was unable to find that language. The process feels misleading and creates expectations that a reservation holds value when, in practice, it may not. What made the experience even more frustrating was being told to wait an unspecified amount of time for potential availability, despite watching multiple people leave the venue. I also wasn't seeking a table reservation--only entry, as there are standing-room reservation options available through the website. I've always appreciated Record Room and have recommended it to friends for years. However, this experience left me feeling like loyal customers are no longer valued. I understand the desire to create a popular and sought-after atmosphere, but transparency and customer service should remain priorities. Very few places get the hype that this place does and the lives up to it. I'm here to tell you to believe in it. Came on a Saturday night around 930pm. It was still early in the night but it was packed. There are limited walk in spaces and so getting on the VIP list or booking a reservation and booking it wayyyy in advance. Aside from it being great vibes and energy. Dope music. And just all love. What makes this place dope is that it feels like you're having a jam session at home with the homies. Everything and everyone is just living their best life. Chilling. Grooving. And sipping on strong drinks. Their drink menu is more artisan cocktails and so what you won't find on the menu is your staples (although they do exist). Which means you can be open to new adventures and twists to your drinks. Kitchen closes at 10pm. Food menu is limited but includes truffle fries, sliders, calamari and skewers. I had the sliders for 18 dollars and it was pretty good. Was happy with the flavor. Won't fill you up if you eat like I eat but it was nice to get additional things in my stomach with how heavy I thought the pour was. The wifi password was: notaspeakeasy but I couldn't get connected to it. Inside didn't have great cell service so be prepared to be disconnected from society for a while. Because it was packed, dancing wasn't the easiest but you make it work. I ended up drinking half my drink each time to make sure that when I get bumped, it wouldn't go spilling. I was here for the first time the other night for a friend's birthday celebration. The entire room was packed by 8:30 pm and continued to get crowded as the night went on. The music played is 100% nostalgic from hip hop and r&b. I love that the songs are played in it's entirety. We were seated for our reservation after about 10 minutes. The seating is very limited and where we were, I was sitting on a stool chair in the passageway of people going back and forth from section to section. I kept on getting bumped and knocked into which was quite frustrating. Although the wifi password was provided, the service was still very spotty. I had the beef sliders and truffle fries out of the 4 food item options. They both were pretty good and it was nice and hot. I had about 2/3 glasses of the Rose wine and my friend ordered a bottle of Presseco. Alcohol for the most part isn't an issue here. However, someone at our party requested a Long Island Iced tea and he was told that they didn't make that drink. I was also hoping to get the " Beware of Boys" drink but unfortunately it wasn't available. The establishment physically holds your card on file. It was my card that was held so I was anxious that thet would either misplace my card or ultimately forget to return it like what happened with my friend. I rather them just swipe your card to open a tab as opposed to having to take your card. The bathroom line gets long and tends to move relatively slow. I was relieved that the manager took some people including myself across the street at their sister restaurant to use the restroom there. All in all, this a trendy place that you try out once or twice. I'd rate Record Room four and a half stars. Third listening room that I've been to after Honeycomb HiFi in North Slope and Eavesdrop in Greenpoint. Similar to the others, the atmosphere is more relaxed than a typical space with a DJ as the focus is on high quality acoustics and vinyls. One of the notable differences here is more of a night life inclusive atmosphere. There is a speakeasy style entrance with a bouncer and a host. There is more open space here which I suspect is suited for dancing. We came on a Wednesday night around 7, so it wasn't quote peak dancing time. Playlist was great and we found ourselves booping often. I was inclined to dance but my wife was interested in being the first folks dancing on a Wednesday night. Acoustics were solid around the venue with the bar being the only spot that was suboptimal. Drinks wise, they had a handful of solid whiskey picks. They had some house cocktails and mock tails. There were a few beers but I don't recall if they were on tap or craft. I had a mezcal margarita which was superb. They also served us a complimentary espresso martini which was great too. Food wise, we just had the French fries, but I'd skip on those. Biggest calm was the seating. We arrived before 7 and they could only seat us at the bar. They were other seats which remained vacant the entire night which were in better listening spots. I wouldn't have mind if the sound at the bar was as good as elsewhere in the venue but that was not the case. Service at the bar was excellent. Quick and friendly. Straight fire! Absolutely loved this place. We got here assuming we would not need reservations but not were we wrong! We were able to put our names on a waitlist and eventually got in after waiting about 20 minutes or so outside. I got the Guava Island drink which is kind of like a Mezcal Margarita and it was delicious. I downed it pretty quickly. Hefty $20 price tag but it was great tasting. The Record Room is such a vibe!! if you're looking to visit soon, you better make a reservation on the Resy app! I visited on a Saturday with my boyfriend as we were celebrating our anniversary. Trying to get a reservation on the weekend is difficult, but my tip would be to put your notifications on so you can be notified if any openings are available. Now when I say the reservations go quick, THEY GO QUICK. I had my notifications on for over a week and was able to reserve a table for 6 PM the day before. I would've loved a later reservation, but we were just excited that we got one in the first place. If you can't get a reservation, they also accept walk-ins so the earlier you arrive, there is more of a chance that you will be seated. If you arrive late without a reservation, you may be turned away at the door, so it is best to plan ahead. Table reservations are for 90 minutes. Once your time is up, you can hang out by the bar. The Record Room is everything I thought it would be and more! You walk through the café and the host will walk you to your table. The menu has a couple of tasty drinks, along with cocktails and small bites. For our first drink, I ordered Can't Get Enough and my boyfriend ordered the Espresso Martini. Second round, Passion Whine and Guava Island. Third round, Dis Love and an Old Fashioned. Now, this is just us, but we like our drinks to have a little burn in them so you know there is alcohol. We could've added a teeny bit more alcohol but the drinks were tasty. Our favorite were the Dis Love and Old Fashioned because it was straight to the point. If you like drinks with less of a punch, I would definitely recommend the Espresso Martini, Passion Whine and Can't Get Enough. Now the vibes... THE VIBES! The DJ's play all the R&B, afrobeats, hip hop records. To see everyone come together and vibe at a place like this made me feel at home. We need this in NJ for sure! Love the loungey feel! the food is limited but actually really tasty and the drinks are decent. They have some vinyls for sale ranging from $5-15 from what I saw. Seating is couches and little stools. The room glows red which gives a nice moody ambiance, but it isn't too too dark to where I need my flashlight to read the menu. We tried the Manzanita 75 and Hotel Nacional and both were DELICIOUS. From all the trendy spots I've visited, I've developed a slight fear of "creative" cocktails because they're usually disgusting. My experience at Record Room was the opposite. The food is limited (only four items on the menu) but a plus is that the kitchen is open until 10pm. The calamari was pretty standard--good but it's hard to mess up calamari. Their sliders were AMAZING. I'm usually not the biggest fan of burgers but the patties in the sliders were super juicy and tender. Literally had juices oozing out of them when I took a bite.
