Great drinks, great atmosphere, great music. It's pretty loud inside so not conducive for any extended conversations, but great for just enjoying the vibes with girlfriends or a date! Staff are also friendly and frequently clear tables. Especially love the location here right on the LIC waterfront. Perfect for a stroll and view of Manhattan sparkling in the distance after a fun evening :)

I had high hopes for this place, which purported to be a vinyl listening bar with amazing handcraft cocktails. But unless you go for a specific event, if you go on a regular night you'll just find yourself at any ol bar with music playing from the speakers. It's fun that the place is hidden behind a coffee shop and the seating area does feel like you're in someone's fancy living room, but it didn't feel conducive for community building, with each group sequestered in their own space. I am relatively easy to appease when it comes to cocktails, but I will say I was wholly unimpressed by my drinks here. I got the Beware of the Boys with tequila, mango, tea, and the Hotel Nacional with rum, pineapple, apricot, and citrus and both hit one, flat note. $17 is not terribly expensive though, but they would have to redo their drink program for me to recommend. R&B nights on Tuesdays are hard to get into but is a fun vibe with a fashionable crowd.

I had such a great experience at Record Room in Long Island City. The vibe is exactly what you'd hope for -- stylish but still laid-back, with early 2000's music that keeps the energy just right. The staff was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the drinks were on point. I had the Barbie Tingz and stuck with it the entire night. It felt like one of those places you can go for a fun night out with friends but also feel comfortable just hanging back and soaking it all in. Definitely one of my new favorites in LIC.

Loved the ambiance. Upon entry there a whole show cause of vinyl covers of the greats. Through a dim-lit passage way you enter the main room. Wall covered in more photos of greats. The ambiance is hip ans lively, a Dj spinning, music is great and it's all good vibes. There's a bar area and a main floor with seats, comfy couches etc. The service is good, timely, bar staff is pleasant. The red light radiating from the sign adds a certain je nais sais quoi to the whole ambiance. I especially showed up to see my friend spinning on Vinyl. Good times.

The record room is a great place to go to on a week night or weekend. I would deff go if you like old school R&B. The drinks were great and the DJ was playing classics. Deff would recommend, make sure to have a reservation!

A nice Queens gem!! This speakeasy will easily become a favorite. The DJ keeps the jams flowing and the drinks are amazing. If you're in Queens - be sure to make a reservation or you'll be standing!

Interesting and Intimate spot. I lived for the DJ playing all the 90's bops with some of today's hits. He kept my friends dancing all night long. The bartenders made some fabulous drinks. The bathroom was kept clean as they have an attendant and we didn't have to worry about our coats (they have a coat check) The decor was cool I would go here again. I love that it wasn't overly packed like some of the other spots. It was perfect to me.

This was such a unique experience coming from Cali! I heard the food is amazing but They had a limited menu. I got the chicken sandwich and it was SO GOOD. The vibes were amazing. They only spin records here and the music was nostalgic and sooooo fun!! They played all kinds of music and the people who throw this event are soooo kind and fun. The DJs were amazing!! Dj Mustafa and another DJ were spinning and it was AMAZING!!

Very few places get the hype that this place does and the lives up to it. I'm here to tell you to believe in it. Came on a Saturday night around 930pm. It was still early in the night but it was packed. There are limited walk in spaces and so getting on the VIP list or booking a reservation and booking it wayyyy in advance. Aside from it being great vibes and energy. Dope music. And just all love. What makes this place dope is that it feels like you're having a jam session at home with the homies. Everything and everyone is just living their best life. Chilling. Grooving. And sipping on strong drinks. Their drink menu is more artisan cocktails and so what you won't find on the menu is your staples (although they do exist). Which means you can be open to new adventures and twists to your drinks. Kitchen closes at 10pm. Food menu is limited but includes truffle fries, sliders, calamari and skewers. I had the sliders for 18 dollars and it was pretty good. Was happy with the flavor. Won't fill you up if you eat like I eat but it was nice to get additional things in my stomach with how heavy I thought the pour was. The wifi password was: notaspeakeasy but I couldn't get connected to it. Inside didn't have great cell service so be prepared to be disconnected from society for a while. Because it was packed, dancing wasn't the easiest but you make it work. I ended up drinking half my drink each time to make sure that when I get bumped, it wouldn't go spilling. There is a coat check available and it's free of charge.

This is a speakeasy in Long Island City in Queens. Tuesdays is a must visit where DJ only plays R &B music and have the crowd singing their hearts out reminiscing about their past loved ones. We had Dis Love Guava Island Dance Yourself Clean So Fresh and So Clean Ring the Alarm On and On MOCKTAIL with tequila Record Room vibes were on point--DJ spinning classics, truffle fries thick and tasty, but some cocktails came with a twist thanks to our server suggested but we should've kept for the original. The 'So Fresh and So Clean' was refreshing with cucumber, but the 'Guava Island' tequila switch was unexpected, keep it as mezcal. Chicken skewers needed a flavor boost, but we dipped them in sauce. Perfect for a girls' night or date, just make sure to snag a reservation--90-minute seating goes fast as the night gets packed. You can even grab a vinyl on your way out for purchase!

I was here for the first time the other night for a friend's birthday celebration. The entire room was packed by 8:30 pm and continued to get crowded as the night went on. The music played is 100% nostalgic from hip hop and r&b. I love that the songs are played in it's entirety. We were seated for our reservation after about 10 minutes. The seating is very limited and where we were, I was sitting on a stool chair in the passageway of people going back and forth from section to section. I kept on getting bumped and knocked into which was quite frustrating. Although the wifi password was provided, the service was still very spotty. I had the beef sliders and truffle fries out of the 4 food item options. They both were pretty good and it was nice and hot. I had about 2/3 glasses of the Rose wine and my friend ordered a bottle of Presseco. Alcohol for the most part isn't an issue here. However, someone at our party requested a Long Island Iced tea and he was told that they didn't make that drink. I was also hoping to get the " Beware of Boys" drink but unfortunately it wasn't available. The establishment physically holds your card on file. It was my card that was held so I was anxious that thet would either misplace my card or ultimately forget to return it like what happened with my friend. I rather them just swipe your card to open a tab as opposed to having to take your card. The bathroom line gets long and tends to move relatively slow. I was relieved that the manager took some people including myself across the street at their sister restaurant to use the restroom there. All in all, this a trendy place that you try out once or twice. Great vibes overall but I just feel like there are tons of other places and activities that's more worth your time and money.

Saw this place on TikTok a few months back and knew I wanted to come and see what it was about... Loved it because it's a speakeasy.... Though I didn't get the chance to open the door and go behind the wall since the door was already open. It was still a pleasant surprise on the other side. The place was giving house party vibes, inside of a big living room. I loved it. The drink menu is different. You have to be open to trying specialty cocktails to want to try someone from the drink menu. Other than that the place is full of vibes and good energy.

The Vibes were good but could be better. I miss the days when everyone was dancing and not on their phones the whole time. I do think they need to monitor how many people are in there more closely because it's small. Yes you want a good turn out but if you cant move whats the point ? The music was great! Especially the 10pm DJ. But if I went back i would def prefer a table as standing room was getting old quick. People bumping into you and it was just hot AF whenever it was crowded. Overall 8.5/10 check it out if you're trying to have a nice little vibe but I suggest a reservation.

What time does the DJ usually start on Saturdays? Are people usually there when it opens at 6pm?

I noticed that the reservation noted a "Bar-Standing" option. I'm still new to this whole scene, but does that mean that it's a reservation to be at the place, without seating?

Hi! The bar-standing means there's a bar with no seating. You can start a tab at the bar. Reservations aren't mandatory, but it's highly recommended as this place accommodates several large parties per night. If you don't make a reservation, be sure… Read more

Unfortunately, there was none of that on a Friday night. It also wasn't busy at all. The music was very loud, the space was extremely dark, and the overall vibe didn't match the hype. I ordered appetizers and entrées, but everything came out at the same time. The timing definitely needs improvement--by the time I got to my entrée, it was cold, and I felt rushed trying to eat everything at once. The drinks were good, and most of the food was good as well, but I would skip the lamb chops--they were dry and lacked flavor. I forgot about it until Jamie W and I recently visited NYC and thought this might be fun after a stroll in the East Village. It was pretty easy making a 5PM reservation on Resy, and we showed up five minutes early. I walked into the phone booth to announce our arrival but was curtly told to wait until 5PM. Click (Photo 3). When we were finally allowed to enter, we were seated rather tightly at the bar with the stools bereft of any human clearance between them. The space was unsurprisingly compact space overall and quite dark. It was nearly impossible to read the menu, and I was sniped at for using my smartphone flashlight. We used a combination of our jackets and the counter as a shield to order our first cocktails. I decided on the $18 Black Diamond because it was their customized version of an espresso martini. It incorporated exclusive ingredients like Diplomatica Reserva sipping rum and Tempus Fugit creme de cacao. Definitely not out of a pop-top can. Jamie went for a more tropical route with the $19 Shark which combined at least three different rums, blue curaçao, and various fruit juices (Photo 8). It looked like a frosty Blue Hawaii, but it was a little too low-key for what Jamie had in mind. We then decided to order food from their abbreviated menu of bar bites apparently developed by local celebrity chefs. Because of my past fondness for Momofuku, I went for the $13 Chang Dog which was rather simply a bacon-wrapped frank covered liberally by Momofuku-branded kimchi (Photo 5). It struck me as rather bland for a supposed David Chang creation. Jamie was even more disappointed by his choice, the $17 PDT Burger which was very generic despite the short rib-derived patty and housemade Crif sauce. The bonus was that it came with nicely crisped Tater Tots, indisputably the best part of the meal (Photo 10). Not realizing we were already getting taters, we also ordered the $11 Benton's Tots which added melted cheese, sauteed onions and scallions, bacon bits, and chipotle mayo (Photo 9). Honestly the plain ones were more satisfying. We ordered a last round, pricier elixirs with more of a puckery kick. Jamie had the $23 Suntory Time Machine with whiskey, sake, lemon juice, fig preserves, and pecan bitters. I had the $21 Taro Reader with vodka, amaro, plum, and taro (Photo 6). Neither overshadowed the first round.
