I came here to support some local DJs for Lunar New Year. It's an intimate venue with a nice sound system, interesting lighting, and attentive bar staff. Drinks are reasonably priced for about 8-10 a beer and if you're fancy, $19 for cocktails. They do have a coat check, but I ended up leaving my coat on the chairs near the wall and it was fine. I love this place because I'm a house/techno head. The DJs (IMO) play the best music I've heard, definitely better than the club scenes in Manhattan where I live. It's a real audiophile sport. If you are not knowledgable about this kind of music you may have different expectations. So, if you're looking for a hookup spot I wouldn't recommend it for that. I came here to celebrate a friends going away soirée on a Sunday , now sundays are not typically a day I like to go clubbing but it was not a regular occasion. Small place , dimly lit .. we got Lagunitas beer not bad nice & cold. As for the place itself good vibe, the dj was decent playing some good music. My main complain it was like a sauna in there way too hot can't imagine what this place was like pre COVID? probably way too many people cramped inside these days glad it wasn't jammed packed over all we had a decent time. read more

I came for a friend's birthday party during happy hour and was excited finally to visit this legendary spot. The sound system is really, really good. Especially for the size of the space, it's impressive how good the sound is. Great spot for dancing, and you can get very close to the DJ booth. Short food menu of pizza and empanadas. My friends and I got two empanadas to share (mushroom and spinach+feta). While they had a good taste, they were quite small for the price ($5/each). Low-key vibe with minimal pretentiousness. Before nightfall, the front wall (garage door) is open, which is a nice feature. Beer menu is ok, nothing too special but good for dancing the night away. read more

One of the bars off to the side that is completely unassuming if t weren't for several tables being occupied up front. Getting closer it seems more like a venue rather than a bar/restaurant, but they were serving drinks and bites to eat as well. Sat down at one of the tables as a person came over with water and menus. Wasn't all that hungry, so settled on a regular margarita ($14). Only after we placed the drink order did the waiter mention they are required to sell food with the drinks. Wish I had known that earlier, but decided the Beef Empanada ($5) was worth a shot. Drink is super strong; something to sip on while the food arrived. Empanada is probably of the frozen variety, heated up and served quickly. Not too bad tasting, though not five dollars worth. Server is friendly and wore a mask throughout (and gave our dog some water). A bit overpriced unless you get the beer. read more

This place is...a little weird, and I'm not sure it was the kind of weird I could get with. We stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon for a few drinks. The music was bumpin' way too loud (mostly house beats), the bartender was a little indifferent, and somehow 50% of the patrons there were two types of drunk: ready to party or faceplanted onto the bar. Being a lover of electronic music, looks like this place is for me, so let's see what the results were. Location, good not too far from other bars or restaurants, so if you're around the area and you like electronic music definitely check it out. Security staff, like any other place just stand in line shut up and wait to get in SIMPLE! don't like it? don't go out! Remember the attitudes the rules made up by bouncers are to keep people calm and respectful and to get people in quickly and smoothly, they don't need to pick and choose who to be nice to, there's no time for that. Looks, when first arriving you really feel like you're about to enter some underground crazy event but this expectation quickly fades when you get in, and you find out that it's a well lit clean garage turned into a bar/club so remember to turn down the craziness enjoy the music and slowly get crazy ;) Service, responsive, quick and pleasant prices can be brought down a few dollars on mix drinks. Crowd, I'll have to come back to study this one better. Sound, 7/10 there's enough punch to fill the room that's what matters. read more

A friend in need's a friend indeed, a friend who bleeds is better. This is some sort of semblance of a large expansive party scene. The movie begins as the ingenue enters the blase debauched 60s arena, music and winding light displays nauseate and make everything wavy. Or, that's more Midnight Cowboy. This is apparently what we have left of any place to dance. Dudes in flannel wind their arms to machine noises. Young thin girls in furs circle in a group to keep from allowing themselves to be singled out. 90s Delia's iconography and some grunge coopting of Christ imagery is widened and projected on the wall. The large dance floor is also a rusty, sepia colored bar with large beer glasses filled with something you have to call "lager" when you order it. It is bro and dance friendly. People dance in large groups and smaller pockets. Occasionally a few It girls who prepare with Deee-Lite themed mood boards congregate in corners or dance with hives of people by the djs. Men circle on the light errand of predation around these women who wear fishnets over culotte underwear, fake black cockatiel feather shrugs, purple hair in two to three mini buns, and high platform vinyl combat boots. I ask them if they too like the 90s, "The 90s are my life." They say. Cool, please continue to dress like a member of Hole, please color your hair seapunk and continue to wear black because I love it. My companion wears flannel and flails his arms. He compliments them "I like what you're doing with this whole thing." I begin to close my eyes and hit people in an effort to dance to this music. Hopefully I will connect with his sculpted butt or walrus mustached face. Bittersweet Symphony is also a 90s song. And the scene begins to simmer into something friendly, people, flannel colored bros and aqua themed sea punk chicks, young indiscriminate hipsters begin to mix in open square dancing amalgams. Perhaps Jordan Catalano moves toward the voguing Dawn Weiner, perhaps the Budnick joins Daria and Aeon Flux. What I'm saying is, people seem here to dance and begin to admit others, the usually tight xx/xy behavior flouts the grinding demands of biology for the moment and the community moves unpredictably. read more

I've been here a couple of times when it's free, wouldn't pay cover to get into this place. from the outside looks like it could be a spacious underground spot but in reality its just a bar with speakers and a dj booth. not exacty spacious either, and sometimes they would have tables/booth set up across the center of the room during dance party nights leaving barely any room to dance. and I see they bought more new furniture recently too. I wouldn't pay 10-20 bucks for a dance party with no room to dance. even standing feels awkward. the music is great in the other hand and drinks are good. read more

Good: The bar itself is decent, relatively inexpensive for Williamsburg, and has an open layout. Those factors, and the low cover charge (again, relative to the area) make for a reliably ok venue. Not so good: Points lost for playing fairly hardcore techno quietly enough so that even right up at the DJ booth you can hear conversations going on around you. Kind of bizarre watching the DJ going berserk with his headphones in, obviously unaware of the indoor-voice volume. Techno should be louder - it isn't lounge music, this wasn't brunch. The bar staff were efficient but the door-staff acted like we were trying to get into a P Diddy White Party in 2002, to the point of near-physicality. Some balance between maintaining exclusivity and being less aggressive might be advisable. We went to see Detroit Techno Militia and an after-party was advertised on RA as included in the ticket, but when we showed up at the afterparty the doormen demanded $30 for entry (we were in good order, $30 was being asked of everyone we saw in the line). These things do happen, but TBA should consider posting a member of their staff at the afterparty venue unless they want to be perceived as randomly and unnecessarily ripping people off for after parties they have no clout in. Overall: It wasn't the worst venue, but if you're after genuinely good music for low-cover charge you're still better off at Bossa Nova, Trans-Pecos, or even Le Bain. read more

I was so relieved to discover this bar, at a time when a lot of the classic house music spots are disappearing. Bouncers are cool as hell, bartenders are efficient, nice, and make good drinks. DJs are excellent!! My only issues with this bar: - the layout of having 2 long tables right in the middle of an already tight space. I need room to dance! - Weekends fill up with a boring hipster crowd that also take up space just standing there while amazing beats are playing. Like why are you even here. read more

Not really much more to it - we went on their anniversary night so there was no cover, but there was a "suggested donation" box, and staff were pricks about it. Look - if you're going to have a $10-20 cover every night, don't act snooty to people who are checking your place out for the first time. If you're into house or lo-fi it could be a good spot. I'm a techno nut and I was so happy to find out that my $10 cover wasn't a cheap excuse to get a "free" drink ticket out of it, but was really paying for awesome Techno DJs to take me on a journey. I loved dancing up front and meeting the nicest Birthday girl imaginable. Keep rocking that dance floor, people. My only critique is that awkward loooooong wooden table that cuts off the couches and the dance floor. Any reason we don't want to make this a memorable dance party? Just curious. A fairly new techno club in Brooklyn deserves at least your consideration. This place has been on my radar for a while now and we finally checked it out a few weeks ago. It's located a bit off beaten path in Williamsburg, almost right under the bridge in a warehouse. The minimalist dark techno DJs spin there, dark setting with no lights, interesting simple decor definitely contribute to overall feeling of sense of identity. Whether you like any of those components is a different story, but you have to give credit to the people who run this place - it's pretty darn authentic. Here are some random thoughts I have about this place: 1. The cover was $10 which I think is fair. A lot of yelpers noted they paid $20 to get in on other nights. I personally think $20 is a bit steep for BK/Williamsburg. 2. There are no lights, strobe lights etc. This is unheard of for an electronic place venue. I felt a bit weird dancing to music alone. It's definitely not the same without lights. 3. The place is very small and was quite packed at 1 am on weekend. You can't dance without people bumping into you while trying to walk by. 4. The night we went they played minimalist techno. For those who don't know it's when a simple repetitive bit plays for hours and there is only a small change in tune. Obviously, not everyone's cup of tea even among techno music lovers. 5. The crowd was as expected: a good mix of international kids with a hipster flavour. 6. They don't allow photos here. Not sure why and more importantly how they are planning to enforce it - check out my photo of the artwork on the wall:) I can't say I love this place and want to give it 3.5 stars. After traveling from St.Thomas that had been recently ravaged by hurricanes and only having valid US Virgin Island ID the bouncer 'Marvin' refused to recognize it as valid yet IT IS UNITED STATES TERRITORY! We traveled with the ID and have booked a hotel with ID (we are well over 30 yrs old). A shame, if only the staff was aware of the tragedies and what people have actually lost and what people actually need a release from. Might as well be throwing us paper towel rolls. read more

Have not RSVPed before 9PM cuz apparently that's the policy even though she said different and 2. If you want to get harassed by the bouncers for asking that same girl "why she gave bad info". Lady bartender (half bun hair style, bangs, wearing red lipstick, and a Polk-a-dot shirt that night) - I made this review solely for you. My BF and I gave this woman credit card and ID to keep our tab open. She barely acknowledged us and never smiled once. Whatever we got our drinks anyway. Came back second time to her to get another round and she asked for the last name on the card (which we provided). Okay still no smile, no thank you, no nothing. Whatever, moved to the dance floor with our drinks. Came back for a third round and this time we went to a male bartender. Got our drinks and told him we have an open tab and gave him the last name. He came back and said sorry we don't have your CC and ID here (at this point I'm slightly freaking out because I need my ID to fly back to LA). He then asked the lady bartender and she said, "I don't know who they are - they never gave me their ID and CC." I told her WE GAVE IT TO YOU. She didn't say anything and disappeared. Are you kidding me? Male bartender checks again and came back apologizing and threw in a free drink. He was very apologetic, even though it wasn't his fault. I appreciated him. NEVER ONCE DID THE LADY BARTENDER APOLOGIZE. Her response is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. Lady bartender, check yourself and your attitude cause it SUCKS. Learn some customer service skills and put a damn smile on your face. If you can't do that, you need a new job. read more

Went on a Friday 9pm with a confirmed reservation. Doorman wasn't nice and didn't care that we are on the list and was a guest of the DJ. There as an invited guest to celebrate DJ's Birthday. Many people exiting but not allowed in. Managers should be involved at the door. It wasn't at capacity because many people came out and stated much more room. I wouldn't travel there to get turned away. Don't bother. read more

Came here for some sort of warehouse party the other night. Nothing super special. It got crowded as the night went on and less fun as it became harder and harder to move around. $12 cocktails and beers in the $6/7/8 range. The music the DJ was playing was fun to dance to but after awhile it just became repetitive. The tables dividing the space made it difficult to dance outside of your small friend bubble. If it's going to be marketed as some exclusive party they in return really have to up their game. As of now they have an average bar. Step it up! read more

The weird garage type space does not lend itself to the best acoustics. Otherwise, this is a fun spot to hang out in especially if you love house and techno. The large bar serves up some decent drinks. From doorman to coatcheck to the bar, the staff has been efficient and friendly to me every time I have been here. There are plenty of great events with some of the world's best DJs and it's fun to see them play in this intimate spot, even if the sound is sort of subpart most of the time. This spot has the feel of a small illegal warehouse party even though it's a legit lounge/bar. It's a cool spot for underground electronic music affiiciandos. read more
