ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PROJECT…read more We previously hired Outer Image in the summer of 2011 for a backyard pergola, patio, and a fire pit, as well as a redesign of our front entry. That project was on budget and on schedule and because of this, the project was very successful. My wife and I both have keen attention to detail and everything was completed with utter satisfaction. We continually were complimented on the overall design of our property and this was due to Steve and his creativity. Fast forward to the summer of 2020, we decided that we wanted to change the pergola out for a covered patio as we wanted an area to sit that was protected from the weather. We had multiple contractors price out the project and ultimately decided to hire Outer Image again. Steve's pricing was competitive; in addition, his design and attention to detail are what made us ultimately chose them again. Since our original pergola was still structurally sound from 2011. Outer image recommended keeping the main structure and just removing the top pergola portion to build the vaulted roof structure. This was a huge cost saving to the budget. Outer Image took care of all of the drawings, designs, and permitting with The Woodlands. As soon as we received approval, they worked with us and the pool contractor to coordinate the schedule, site access, and overall coordination so we could complete both projects on time. There were some roadblocks with typical Houston weather and the Outer Image crew was very accommodating and continued to keep the overall project in line. In addition, any questions that arose during the project were addressed and reviewed directly by Steve in a timely and professional manner with a thorough explanation. During this process, we added some additional scope by changing the original 2011 wood deck to an Azek material, replacing some gas pipes in an outdoor fireplace, as well as adding some lighting and electrical to the new structure. All changes were easy to make and the team at Outer Image was happy to accommodate them. My back patio is still a mud pit. When I asked them to come by and check it out he said he would but never came and I haven't heard back since. This wasn't the first time he stood us up without a warning either. As far as the retaining wall, my 80 year old grandma would've built an equal quality wall as they did. I asked them to build about a quarter of the wall but after I saw them working on it decided to finish it myself. I paid about 20% of what they charged me to build the rest. Bottom line, SUPER expensive, poor quality work, poor quality customer service. Look elsewhere.

We needed a very tall Ash tree removed, a number of broken, dead and overgrown branches removed and we further needed to raise the canopy so our house was visible from the street and the our backyard didn't feel so closed in over the pool. When I called, he came out promptly to give us a quote. We surveyed our property together, discussed what we wanted done, and he made some suggestions about how he would trim the trees for safety and best growth. In comparison to other quotes we felt he gave us a very fair price. On the scheduled work day, Zack and his helper, Jaime, arrived 10 minutes early and began taking down the Ash tree in our front yard, close to the house, that had died. He and his helper have a technique to remove the large heavy branches to prevent damaging the house and the lawn so no huge dents in the lawn and no damage to our house or other landscaping. After that, they moved methodically from tree to tree removing everything we had agreed upon. I watched as he considered which healthy but overgrown branches to cut so the trees would not only look good, but grow nicely. Jaime carried away ALL the debris and fed it into the wood chipper. My yard was pretty much spotless when they were through. Zack told me first thing that the person with the stump grinder would come the next day. I believe he ended coming that evening and made short work of the stump, filling the hole with the stump debris. I then hired Zack to do the same at my Mom's house. This time he was trimming two unruly Magnolia trees, two out of control Vitex and two other trees. Again, he carefully selected the branches on the Magnolias and they look so much better. The Vitex trees were cut back quite a bit but they were totally overgrown, almost tree size, so while they look quite bare now, I know by the end of the summer, they will start looking as they should. Overall, Zack was very professional, friendly, did what he said he would do, took great care with our property and our trees and did an honest day's work for very fair price. What a lifesaver!…read more Hurricane Beryl was certainly not the most intense hurricane I've experienced here in the Houston area. But it did inflict the most damage to us and many of our neighbors. With a back yard packed with multiple trees, I suppose we were more vulnerable than most. The morning of the storm, our tallest pine - an 80-foot one estimated to be 70 years old - succumbed to the winds and fell. It hit the corner of our detached garage, pulling down our power line weather hood, leaving a huge hole in the garage roof and siding and eventually took out 6 or so other formidably sized trees on the opposite side of our yard while swiping our main home structure. We needed someone to brace the structure of our garage roof and side, tarp it and somehow get the weather hood replaced so when the power did come back on, we would actually be connected. Literally the day after the storm, we had Tom from Summit come to help with the hole in the garage. He braced the interior and had his roofing crew come to tarp the roof. Within days, his electrician came to install a new weather hood so we would be able to get power. At that point we were in the spot to begin planning permanent repairs. And, of course, we had Summit do the work. Re-build of the actual garage structure, new roof, new siding, soffits and trim with paint. Reconnection of a plumbing line to our sink in the garage. Lots of other little repairs that cropped up were also addressed. All of this while Tom is helping us navigate through the insurance claim process, assisting us with submission of pictures, estimates and actually being on site when our adjustor came to evaluate the damage. Now that it's all complete, I only have great things to say about Summit Remodeling & Roofing. Excellent work crews. Great clean up. Beautiful finish to what was once a pretty mangled-looking area of our home. Fair price. Good follow up. We are so pleased with the results - as well as the way Tom helped us and handled the whole situation - and we couldn't be happier. Highly recommend this local business.
