She emerges happy, and that's all that matters. But here's the thing--The Cove isn't just another beach-town boutique. It's an anomaly. A lone wolf. A place that, by all rights, should be in a hip LA district or some high priced shopping mecca, not wedged between surf shops and dime-a-dozen fast fashion joints. Yet, here it stands, holding its own. I don't pretend to understand women's casual fashion, but even I can recognize quality when I see it. High-end labels. Carefully curated pieces. Stuff that doesn't scream "I bought this off a clearance rack at a strip mall." This is where the sharp-dressed, boho-chic crowd comes to play. A word to the wise: if you see something you like, buy it. Boutique shopping is a cruel mistress--wait too long, and that perfect piece will be gone, never to return. (Discovered on more than one occasion) So if you (or your better half) have a taste for fashion that's actually worth the price tag, The Cove is the move. Me? I'm a bargain hunter, so the apparel was a bit pricey for me, however, there were many pieces I LOVED. The owner, Scott, was very helpful. I have a pair of prescription sunglasses that slide off of my face, and he offered to adjust them for free. They fit perfectly now! This would have been alright if she had not proceeded to greet and chat with the next five or so white customers who came in. Additionally, every time my mom went to pick up an accessory, smell a candle, or just look at an object for longer than a few seconds, the woman behind the register would come up to us and quite literally look at and inspect whatever we had just touched. Her eyes followed us wherever we were in the store. I was appalled. Never had I been treated with such disrespect, and her lack of respect and human decency towards my mother was unacceptable. Will not be coming back or ever supporting this racist shop.

The one thing I really love is that the store is very big and has some great changing rooms. They also have very well organized sections and it doesn't feel cramped. The staff are always friendly, and don't breathe down your neck/give you space to shop around, which I'd prefer. The prices and sometimes out of my budget, but it's mostly great quality items!
