Cute store, racist employee. My mom and I came to this boutique to shop for a friend's birthday gift and were not greeted by the elderly female employee. This would have been alright if she had not proceeded to greet and chat with the next five or so white customers who came in. Additionally, every time my mom went to pick up an accessory, smell a candle, or just look at an object for longer than a few seconds, the woman behind the register would come up to us and quite literally look at and inspect whatever we had just touched. Her eyes followed us wherever we were in the store. I was appalled. Never had I been treated with such disrespect, and her lack of respect and human decency towards my mother was unacceptable. In a general sense, I don't understand small, local, gift boutiques. Candles, lotions, decorative goods priced at exorbitant mark-ups... um, quite sure I can purchase the same quality items for half the price elsewhere. I realize this is just the attitude of a poor, income-challenged individual, such as myself. I just don't have money to enjoy such a lifestyle. Regardless, I DO like the self-torture of walking around these stores, grumbling about the prices and being bitter, and then walking out. What better place to do this than San Clemente?! Even if you've never been to San Clemente (located smack in the middle of San Diego and Los Angeles); you've probably heard of it: a lovely, upscale, beach-side, surf-city. It's gorgeous, it's sunny, it's chill, it's Cali in a nutshell. Serving the tourists to San Clemente is a main shopping strip combining the elements of a small town main street with the Cali swankiness by offering richy-rich eateries, antique shops, clothing stores, jewelry stores, and even real estate offices. This is where you will find Erba located near the famous San Clemente Apartments & Hotel. Erba is exactly the stereotype I just described: a white-washed, airy, high-ceiling gift shop filled with self-care items and gifts: candles, body wash, incense, journals, books, recordings, soaps... you get the point. It's those types of gifts you imagine older women giving each other for birthdays or future mother-in-laws gifting their sons' fiances at bridal showers. Yet, there is more to Erba. Erba seems to be the local CBD hookup. Erba has multiple shelves filled with balms, creams, edibles, ointments, pills, etc; containing various strengths and milligrams of CBD. This place looks up a medieval apothecary minus the creepy taxidermy animals and magick potions. Okay, so it is nothing like a medieval apothecary and is more like an a rich lady's pot clinic. Whatever CDB product you need, Erba probably sells it. I even saw a dad toting two young daughters heading straight to the CBD shelves while the young daughters spoke about CBD like pros. This is Cali, afterall! Note: all the other Yelp reviews of Erba mention the CBD so this truly is Sam Clemente's CBD Central. Sticking to our Cali and Los Angeles roots; my friend was experiencing pain so he, naturally, wanted to buy some CBD ointment. We asked the French-speaking associate, Giselle, for some help and was met with a knowledgeable, solid customer service game. Giselle was well-versed on each product, it's credentials, the companies producing the products, etc. Okay, Giselle: we'll call you Queen CBD. Although she had the typical French attitude sting; Giselle is polite enough and took care of us well. She even gave us some free CBD product samples. Erba DOES charge much higher for these products than you will find in our countless Los Angeles pot clinics but this is to be expected at a gift shop in touristy San Clemente. A note of distinction with Erba is that it is very quiet and takes you away from the hubub of the sidewalks. Even if you are like me and can't afford pricey gift shops; Erba is worth a browse or for your Mission: CBD. The shop is pleasant on the eyes, Giselle is knowledgeable and provides meaningful customer service, and the overall experience is satisfying. ** NOTE: The owner of this store contacted me on Yelp and rudely berated me for my review. A 3-star Yelp review is NOT negative and means the experience was solid and average. She insulted me saying I have hatred in my heart and how wrong my review was. Attacking someone for their review, a review that wasn't even rude in the first place, is insane and horrible business practice. So now, the owner will learn that this practice lowered the 3 stars to 2. I no longer recommend visiting Erba. They need to take Business 101 classes** read more

I have scoliosis along with needing a double hip replacement. I am holding off on surgery for the time being. Needless to say, I live with constant pain managment day and night. The owner Lisa, along with her staff, are very knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth. Erba really is a wonderful eligant little shop. All the CBD products I've used have reduced my pain by 90%. Nice and lovely items, but the shop owner was rude. She followed me and a gal friend every step and as soon as i put down an item I was looking at , she quickly was right behind to rearranged what every we looked at. It was quite rude and turned me off to shop at her store and give someone my business who is so unfriendly and disrespectful to shoppers. I always was very responsible and returned the item to the exact same location and the correct position she had it. People need to touch and smell things if they want to decide to buy it. I thought the shop had a fabulous collection of items, mostly bath, but some nice jewelry, stationery, books, and hats. The manager was working when we shopped - and she was incredibly nice. I have a gallery gift shop of my own, so I know pricing and many of the vendors they carried. I thought the prices were very fair. I purchased a few items, but a nail polish I'd never heard of was of interest to me since it was all natural. I saw it at a few other shops on my trip to California, and it was always more than Erba. I shopped here today with my mother-in-law and 3 year old son, and I was very impressed overall. I didn't have time to look at everything at the slow pace I would have liked (having a little one with me), but the jewelry was unique and beautiful and the clothing was super cute and quality. I'd say the best part of my experience, though, was Terri. She was so helpful and sweet, and great to talk to. Sometimes you can get dirty looks when you bring a child to a store like that, but you could tell she loved kids and he was welcome. Worst experience in a store EVER! There are some cute items but it does not make up for the extremely rude owner/sales person. Walked into the store this afternoon and there were only 2 other people and the store is pretty small in size. She did not even say hello or greet us when she walked in. She would follow people around in the store and stand in the way so you could not even look at the items in the store. She made you feel uncomfortable and completely unwelcome. I realize that she probably does have a shoplifting problem which is probably why she was acting this way but being rude and following people is not a good solution. I will never step foot in this store again and will make sure that everyone I know does the same. One star is definitely not deserved.
