I was a bit skeptical at first since I was expecting Andrew to teach the course, but Juan did an excellent job at giving tips to conceptualize topics. Further, Juan is a good speaker with years of knowledge working in the industry, so he will answer any questions you may have with ease. They will provide you with slides that are great for reviewing before the exam. The best thing about this course is that they will focus on topics that have higher priority and will advise on which sections to spend more of your time on. From my experience, I would recommend reading the book prior to taking the exam and taking this bootcamp course as a refresher. You should not rely solely on the bootcamp to pass the course as the CISSP has a lot of info that may require more time to study. Note, I spent 3 months of regularly studying and crammed 60+ hours the week before the exam.

Dishonest billing after withdrawal; ignored records request…read more I enrolled at Fullstack Academy and later withdrew. My student advisor confirmed in writing (via Slack DMs) that my final two payments would be canceled and not charged. Weeks later I received an email saying they planned to charge me anyway. They also deleted my student account and removed me from their Slack, which blocked me from accessing the very messages that confirm the cancellation. My request for a copy of those DMs was ignored. I immediately sent a formal revocation of payment authorization and notified my bank because these attempted charges could have overdrawn my account by $1,000+. Fullstack cited a "no refunds after 6 weeks" policy, but in my case they are using it as a loophole to demand money after telling me in writing I wouldn't be charged. This has caused significant stress and wasted hours of my time. I've filed complaints with the CFPB and the NY Attorney General. Policies aside, trustworthy schools honor their written commitments and provide students access to their records. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this program. If you're considering it, get everything in writing and be very cautious about autopay authorizations.

Its a complete money grab because they analyze the majority in the course and teach them and abandon others.

They teach more than just the basics and structure the curriculum very well to get you to the point of being an independent learner. I think it's daunting at first to pick up web development without much coding background, but I think the program does a good job at teaching you what to focus on. The most intensive part of the curriculum is keeping up with the schedule. The material by itself is structured to teach a student from the ground up. The challenging portion is for the student to maintain studying priorities, time management, and health. If a student can do these things well, then the student will be able to pick up everything needed to pass the program. The job search support is very good. I feel like App Academy is set up for a student's success, giving the student constant support and material to work on post-graduation from the program. If the job seeker puts in the work and keeps routines established by a/A to find employment, it'll only be a matter of when.

Because of Flocabulary.com, my kids were absolutely riveted by Shakespeare. They all understood the story and were able to summarize it, analyze it, define and use Shakespearean vocabulary. They were able to understand the characters and to put on plays of their own modernized versions of Macbeth. This doesn't mean they all did their work and got good grades, but at least they were all engaged. I know they all understood the story, because they got all As and Bs on the assessments I did. I really felt like they were learning something about literature. I ordered the Shakespeare as Hip Hop CD with the accompanying lesson plan book. There is a music video of their Macbeth rap that I showed the class. They didn't talk or mess around while I was showing the video, which is amazing for this group of kids. They had to pick five scenes, pick a song for each scene, and say why they picked that song for that scene. I have also used this CD to teach Sonnets to 8th graders in Hayward. They loved it! I could hear them rapping Sonnet #18 in the halls, and with a few exceptions, they all wrote their own awesome sonnets without grumbling. Direct quotes from the end-of-unit evaluations I gave them: "The Bluest Eye was hecka boring but Macbeth was cool. I liked doing plays and the music video." "I didn't relize (sic) that Shakespeare is so bloody. I liked all the battels (sic)." "You made Shakespeare fun because you let us use music." "Imma (sic) make my own movie of Macbeth from the play I wrote!" "Can we do more Shakespeare next semester? I liked writing a play and I liked the sountracks (sic) I made." I thought Flocabulary was sort of corny and silly at first, and I was a little scared about how the kids would react, but I'm SO glad I used it. I usually dread teaching Shakespeare, but now Flocabulary makes it one of my easiest and most fun things to teach all year.

The very first day it took 3 hours to get situated into a class because the substitute (Ms. N) for the original instructor (Mr. Ortiz) was not ready for the class. She couldn't get a hold of a computer to print the materials. In those 3 hours I was still waiting at the reception area for them to find out which class I was registered to. On the very first day we were told that we would be ready for the midterms, the final and the NHA Exam by the end of the course. So of course my expectations were high. I was not on the roster until week 3. I had to write my name under everyone else and take pictures for proof just incase they tried to say I was not attending. The first 2 weeks we did not have the correct instructor. We never started the classes on time. I learned more in class about war and about the teacher and her personal problems than I did about drawing blood or placing electrodes on a patient. If we were given a test on her life we would ace it. I had to skip lunch break stay in the classroom and teach myself. I had to go home and break night going to sleep around 2-3 am teaching myself because we were not learning anything in class. We took more breaks than we read chapters. When it came to reviewing for the tests and midterms Ms. N would just go through the test itself and basically give us the answer instead of giving us material to study from. Ms. N is very knowledgeable but she is clearly not ready to be an instructor. Then finally the correct instructor came for the last 2 weeks. I was expecting for the students to get some of their money back since there was a substitute for the first 2 weeks (because to request Mr. Ortiz you have to pay extra). Ortiz is definitely a better instructor. He is detailed, organized and straight to the point. But the curriculum forces them to only teach what is going to be on their test/midterm/final. We never finished the book. We left over 3 to 4 Chapters in both the EKG and Phlebotomy books untouched. We even had to redo both the quiz and the midterm. Me teaching myself by reading the books, making notes and preparing a study guide on things I thought were going to be on the exams assured that I pass both classes without having to cheat like the majority of both classes did. This training center is good at teaching how to perform the tasks of drawing blood and placing electrodes for an ekg but not good at preparing students for the exams. Some students were not well prepared or knowledgeable and somehow managed to be certified. I finished my 4 weeks not ready for the NHA which we were told they would prepare us for. For the amount of money I had to pay for this course I can truly say it was not worth it. I really believe it's very unfair that we were not refunded some of our money back. Oh and the certificates come together as one certificate, you have to pay to have 2 individual certificates imagine how money hungry this "school" really is without providing quality. I would not recommend.

I was drawn to the flameworking class because of the thoughtful expression of how the instructor, Saint, described the process of working with borosilicate glass in their class. Truthfully, I was so blown away by it all. Urban Glass has a beautiful community based inclusivity spirit and artist centered focus. The studio was well organized and vast. The staff and technical support team are friendly and helpful. Saint's class had a wonderful pacing to it for a 6 hour workshop. We got to know all of the participants and connect together in a fun way, had a few informative demos on equipment safety and glass techniques, and then got to creating! Han, another glass artist at Urban Glass assisted the class, and it was really great to be able to explore making marbles, small figurines on our own and also have Saint and Han jump in when we needed a bit of extra hands on help. I felt confident from the demos and my practice time to be able to rent space on my own after. Our class has stayed in touch since, and I know several of us from the class have been back to the studio since to create. I'm excited to return to explore and learn more!
