I was first introduced to Sunny's work through her IG. After seeing how she perfectly captured the anatomy of butterflies and month, I felt confident that she would be able do the same for beetles. After submitting the online inquiry form and messaging Sunny, I quickly received a response and an estimated cost. To my surprise, she has always wanted do beetle tattoos and was excited to work with me. Since it was my first tattoo, I was nervous and didn't know what to expect. However, Sunny's friendliness and the store's calming ambiance made me feel reassured and surprisingly comfortable. From reference pictures to stenciling, Sunny walked me through each step and ensure all the details of the darkling beetles were included. Furthermore, before the initial outlining, other artists in the store were asked to double check the stencil (flow, composition, etc). 3 hours quickly passed and I got my first 3 beetle tattoos done on my forearm. It didn't hurt too bad because I was enjoying the nerdy beetle conversation with Sunny. After the tattoos were wrapped up, Sunny gave me a run down on the after-care routine and what to expect during the healing process. The experience I had with the my tattoo family was extremely fun and pleasurable. I got my biggest piece done here recently by Duy and it came out amazing. The whole team was extremely nice and welcoming to me and they all do great work! I had the joy (and pain) of spending 4 days in the shop and the culture is unlike any other I've experienced at other tattoo shops. You can tell that the entire team is very close and appreciates/excels at what they do! I also got to see many pieces done in my time there by Maddie and Jeff. Jeff was patient with clients and spent many hours perfecting his craft while I was there. He took the time to perfect all the small details and the pieces that he did all came out extremely sharp! Maddie was wonderfully cheerful and funny. She took all the client requests seriously and offered constructive solutions to any doubts/questions that they had. She was a delight to spend time with! My daith piercing from another shop fell out for the third time. Luckily, I was able to find the jewelry, but the way the daith is situated, it's are nearly impossible to put back in on your own. I called My Tattoo and, fortunately for me, Sunny was able to fit me in that afternoon. I knew the reinstallation would be a little tricky, but she made it look easy. I also asked her to take a look at my other ear that didn't seem to be healing correctly - even after almost a year. She explained (with pictures even!) that the other shop probably switched out my jewelry too soon, and the new, smaller jewelry was pulling on the cartilage. So, as much as I like my sparkly little hoops, I'll be heading back to My Tattoo soon to see Sunny for some new jewelry that will allow my piercing to properly heal. Sunny's demeanor and technical skill are a winning combination; make an appointment with her - you will not be disappointed. This review is for Duy - I thought I was done with tattoos but then I found myself scrolling thru instagram and came across My Tattoo and Duy's page. By the looks of his work, he does a lot of anime and related art. I was initially trying to get a mandala on my foot but overtime I changed my mind and asked Duy if he could do the FFX logo instead. When I came to the tattoo shop, he and I collaborated on ideas and the best placement for where my tattoo should be. He's the expert so I pretty much just went with whatever he suggested and I'm glad I did! He spent an hour or so on the design and I was so impressed with what he came up with. Truly creative and a visionary. We took a few breaks in between session but he was very gentle the entire time. Also, I appreciated the fact that he had put some anime on the tv so I could watch during my session to make the time go by faster. Oh! Another thing I like about My Tattoo is before Duy began to ink me up, he told me to go to his other colleagues/tattoo artists for their opinions/review to make sure everything was good before the session started. I haven't been to a tattoo shop that does that so I appreciate having a second and third pair of eyes to ensure quality... since tattoos are permanent lol. Hiro did a jewelry change for me and piercings for my sister, she got 1 conch and 2 lobes pierced. He was super patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. The facility is a little dark, but was pretty updated/modern, decorated super cool, and felt extremely clean and well-kept. My tragus jewelry change was only $10 total since I purchased the surgical steel jewelry from them, a cute dainty diamond stud with gold metal. While I was saddened they did not have any diamond rook jewelry for me to choose from, he did give me the info on the gauge and length to purchase, and told me it would still be only $10 to bring in my personal jewelry for them to change. My sister's piercing AND jewelry total came to $70, which was a wonderful price, for all her piercings and the jewelry she chose. She got a pain silver ball stud for the conch and simple silver diamond studs for her lobes. All in all, I was pleased with our experience and would definitely come back for any piercing in the future. read more

I did a walk in to get my tragus pierced. Rey was super accommodating. Very gentle and it came out pretty :) I also needed help to put on my daith piercing. I am compelled to write a glowing review for my awesome tattoo artist Pete. I can sincerely say that I have never rated an individual in the past. What do you rate a tattoo artist based on? Their professionalism, their artwork, the personality, attitude or some other highly valuable trait? I personally believe a tattoo artist's artwork is the most important aspect, because after all, you're displaying this artwork for a lifetime. To me, it's like purchasing a personalized piece of art, one which you can enjoy and wear proudly for years to come. That being said, no one likes to deal with someone with a poor attitude, a god complex or an over inflated ego. While I guess I would probably sit through a poor attitude session for a kick ass tattoo, I would obviously prefer to have a pleasant experience on top of a kick ass tattoo. This place is next to Sonic on Beach Blvd. There is plenty of lot and street parking available. I had made an appointment with Damien on Saturday at 12 and I brought a printout picture of the tattoo I wanted. He used it to sketch a cleaner one and we started the actual tattooing process around 2:30, finishing around 4:15. Since this was my first time, I had no experience except from what I read online. Damien put the stencil on my upper middle back and allowed me to check to see if the position was good. I would describe the feeling as scratchy. There were moments that were more painful, but overall manageable. I found singing and reading as helpful ways to keep my mind off the pain- and the fact that I could sing and read on my phone shows how manageable it can be. At some points, i was able to have a full conversation while being tattooed. Overall, Damien was amazing. He made sure to check if I was okay during the session and it was quick and simple!
