Great tattoo! Accommodating to walk-ins! Really like the overall look to the shop and how all the artists are.

My wife and I had an idea for a unique couples tattoo for our anniversary based on an in-joke from an online comic strip. When researching tattoo shops near us, we came across Bad Influence and were not disappointed. Bob Nguyen, the owner, responded quickly to my inquiry and was super accommodating with the reference images we sent in and we made an appointment. The day of, we came into the shop where artist Phuong showed us the mock-up of the tattoos and helped us figure out placing. We wanted the tattoos to line up while we held hands and with Phuong and our other artist, Bobby's, help we figured out the perfect placement. Bobby worked on my wife's tattoo while Phuong did mine. They were very professional and worked quickly but not by sacrificing quality. The tattoos turned out great and we immediately loved them. We did discover when we got home that, because of some adjustments needed during the actual tattooing, a small part of my wife's tattoo that should have mirrored mine was off (our fault for not noticing). However, Bobby was super great at responding when we reached back out and we made an appointment for a small touch up to better align the tattoos. We just had this appointment (after waiting for the original tattoos to heal) and it was a quick fix without issue. Our entire experience was great and the artists at Bad Influence were amazing and so friendly and welcoming. When either my wife or I are ready for another tattoo, we will definitely be going back to Bad Influence. We cannot recommend them enough. read more

I booked a tattoo with Cheyenne at the beginning of this year, and all I can say is WOW - I am truly amazed by how talented she is! She is the 5th tattoo artist I've gone to and easily takes the #1 spot amongst them. I've been tattooed at this shop for most of my tattoos, but this is one of my new favorites. Tucker at the shop has done most of my leg and chest tattoos and we recently added on this tiger. He was super funny and relaxed (as he normally is) and made me feel comfortable and safe (also as he normally does) he squeezed me in his schedule pretty quickly! This review is for Phuong. From start to finish, Phuong has done an amazing job. Booking was super easy; I was able to book with her directly through IG. All her deposit (super small/reasonable amount), prep, and post-tattoo instructions were on there too, which made it super easy to locate information. Rolled up to the tattoo shop with tons of parking spaces available right in front. Walked in and was serviced right away. Everyone else in the tattoo shop also says hi to you when you walk in, which I thought was really nice. The set up of the shop is very open with a couple of private rooms in the back (other tattoo artists). When Phuong tattoos, she tattoos with a very light hand, so the tattoo on my lower back did not hurt at all (just a smidge towards the end with those darn highlights haha). Super nice, easy-going, and responsive the entire time I was in that shop. After the tattooing was done, she offered both cling wrap and second skin. I like that she offered both since I recently learned I am very sensitive to second skin. Would definitely book with Phuong again. She's super sweet and her designs are amazing. read more

I am so impressed by the professionalism and artistry at Bad Influence. Charlotparis was my tattoo artist and she helped me every step of the way. I was initially unsure how large I wanted the tattoo to be, so she printed out several copies of the tattoo for me to put on my arm to see how it would fit. All hygienic procedures were followed (trust, I'm a complete germophobe)--I never once felt that any equipment, instrument or glove was compromised. As far as the design and artistry goes. I was totally amazed by the level of detail. The original design was in a publication in 1754, so I wanted to ensure that the spirit of the original design was captured--make it look like it was inked/printed for publication. Charlotparis made sure that it happened. I honestly could not be any happier with this piece, and I definitely recommend Bad Influence. If the quality of their piercings are anywhere close to that of their tattoos, then I will be back for another tattoo (or piercing)! read more

Pretty disappointed with my experience here. Went on 1/13 for their Friday the 13th flash special and walked out needing a coverup. I waited from 7-10am that morning and wanted one flash design. I was put on the waiting list and called back around 7:30/8pm. I was put with aaron as my artist. He was kind at first during the consultation where my girlfriend was sitting with us. We discussed how many hearts were right for each side of the dice since the design was too crammed together with hearts. We agreed their wasn't enough room and picked out a # of hearts for each side. After the stencil was placed and my girlfriend walked out of the room his entire demeanor changed. As he started to tattoo I asked him how his day was going and how many people he had tattooed, which he replied 'every time you talk, you move', which made me uncomfortable so I just shut up. Then he received a phone call and answered it, and talked the entire appt (15mins max). I sat in silence and zoned out, and when we were done I looked down and the hearts were all crammed together and none of it was what we discussed. He wrapped it extremely quick and made me pay him then and there. I tipped because I felt obligated too and walked out. When I got home I realized how bad it was and when I went to get some help via their texting line I got nothing. The texts below stop there as they never got back to me, and I won't be going back as Im scared it will be even worse. I have looked over the owners instagram and I just don't feel he is the right artist for me, as this tattoo is very small and dainty and his work is the opposite. I just don't think this situation was handled properly at all. read more

They had an event for wine and painting this was their second one they had and probably more to come. I found Charlotparis on SAD, a facebook group, and fell in love with her work. She was absolutely amazing in terms of making me feel comfortable, especially because this was my first tattoo! She was very gentle with me and I had the best experience ever. The music was great & she consistently checked up on me to ask if I needed to take breaks. She offered water & snacks & I've never felt more at ease while also getting a tattoo. Charlotparis also offered her personal opinions for the sizing of my design & I could tell she genuinely wanted the best for me. I went with her suggestion & I don't regret it one bit. I went pretty big for my first tattoo but it looks absolutely amazing!! It took 4 hours to get the design on my back, but time flew by so quickly with her. I even dozed off halfway through because she was so gentle with me. I think it was only tolerable because it was her!! Definitely check her out if you want to get tatted. Still five stars in my book! I will always make a trip from LA to OC to get a tat here. ( if i decided to get any more). This time it was my sister's first. Bob, the owner is an amazing artist. It's quite an astonishing skill how he draws out exactly how you describe and envision an image in your head, sometimes it looks even better than you had imagined it. Place is super clean. I've watched as Bob sanitizes his work area. That takes more time than a simple tattoo. But I'm not complaining! Rather they take the time to ensure clean sanitation than half fast things. This was my 1st visit to this shop; I called prior, very helpful staff, sent over a photo of what I wanted to obtain a price range, and was able to go in the same day. Shop was very clean & had great music (they even had treats). I came here over 10 years ago and got my first ever tattoo. I had a great experience but moved away. I recently moved back to California and live in San Diego. I know that there are tattoo shops on everywhere especially in SD but I had such a good experience at bad influence that I wanted to give them another try for a special piece that I am interested in getting.
