RPNC volunteers are blessing pets and families all at the same time. We are forever grateful to the people bringing our fur child, "Bear" (Oso) into our lives. The hard work and love given to our Bear-Bear before his adoption does not go unnoticed and is never forgotten.

I adopted my dog from Recycled Pets NorCal when she was about 10 weeks old. The care and effort they put into their adoption process is fantastic. She has brought such joy to my life, I cannot thank and recommend this organization enough. They are wonderful.

RPNC has been amazing. We adopted our boy 6 years ago. He had already been socialized, used the doggy door and was very used to other animals. We have adopted from shelters before - adopting from shelters is an easy process ... most of the time in and out same day. With rescues like RPNC they want to make sure you know the animal you are adopting and will be a good match. They do the best they can to provide permanent homes and have already worked with the animals they have for adoption. I personally feel that it made for a much easier transition for our family. I love what they do and appreciate all of them! I highly recommend taking the time to adopt from a rescue like RPNC if you can!

Our baby Gizmo. Best dog ever. Thank you Recycled Pets for saving her so we could add her to our family :)

I cannot say enough nice things about this rescue. They really care about the animals and try their best to place the dogs with fitting forever homes. We got our amazing dog Gizmo from them. We just happened to stop into a local pet store and they were having an adoption event. We were not really looking for a new family member at the time but fell in love with Gizmo, and hoped She would get along with our other dog. It took a couple weeks and back and forth emails. you have to realize that this rescue is volunteer run And they have lives and very busy schedules nothing is going to happen over night. We've had our newest member of the family over a year now and she is wonderful. I will also add that they stay in touch with the family's and have been great about any questions or concerns that have come up.

RPNC is an amazing organization. I adopted Wilbur formally known as "Wilford Brimley" from here & they took great care of him. Their adoption process is thorough without being overly intrusive. I would highly recommend them. They are great people doing great things.

This is the little guy I rescued off the streets and then RPNC took into their foster program and adopted out.

A while back I came across a scared little stray in danger on a busy street in a bad neighborhood. I managed to catch him and tried to return him to his owner but without success. After holding him for the requisite time to allow him to be reclaimed but without it happening, I contacted RPNC for help. Already being aware of this rescue and knowing they are very picky about to whom they adopt, and are very thorough in their adoption form and home checks, I felt confidant that if he were taken into their program he would be safe and wind up in a wonderful home. He was taken as a foster by one of their volunteers and a short time later adopted out to a couple who will love and appreciate him and give him the life he deserves. Well done, and thank you Recycled Pets NorCal; another (and personal) reason I am glad we have this group of dedicated animal lovers in the Sacramento area.

Lily is the smaller, blind pup we got thru RPNC. We added Jameson two years later and they are best buds!

RPNC really cares about the animals they rescue and rehome. They do thorough home checks before allowing a pet to go to a home. They are also a great resource for info, help, advice and just all- around pet knowledge!! We love our Lily girl that we adopted almost 3 years ago.

We adopted our fur baby Juniper from Recycled Pets NorCal. We met her at an event in Roseville and we were ready to take her home right away, but RPNC has a very thorough adoption process (which we appreciate!). The volunteers worked with us to make sure our fence was tall enough to bring her home and she has been a part of our family ever since. My husband and I were just living together when we got her and she has been with us through our engagement, wedding and now first year anniversary. We would never adopt a dog from any where else!

    We just adopted Ruby!

Ask the Community - Recycled Pets NorCal

Is there an address I can go to to visit a dog before I adopt it? I've been messaging and trying to call them but I don't get a reply

This is an all volunteer rescue and they do not have a facility. Your best bet is to attend an adoption event where all available dogs are brought out for potential adopters to meet them. Those events are held the first and third Saturday at Pet…

It was a great way for our 11 year old to prove she was responsible and ready to have her own kitten. The kittens needed some extra care in the beginning, but the shelter provided everything and summer break allowed extra time to care and cuddle the 4 sisters. It also brought our family closer together as we all happily chipped in to help. The shelter was very busy (lots of kitties needing care) so we had them a little longer than expected, but we were in tears when we had to say goodbye. Except, we did end up keeping not one, but 2 of them! It was great being able to pick the 2 that were the best fit for our family- fostering allowed us lots of time to learn their personalities. The other 2 adorable kittens were quickly adopted at the shelter's well-organized pet adoption event by the same family. We are so happy the kittens all have a sister to play with. 2 was the way to go! If you are thinking of fostering, do it! It is an awesome experience you should do at least once if your life to give back. Such an amazing feeling to save their lives- because that is what you are doing!

I first called to get more information, and I was provided with a detailed summary of a doggy day out. We drove down the next day and thought we missed out on the dog we wanted. But the woman at the front told me to sign in anyways, and I am so thankful we did! We were able to meet her, bring our kids in to meet her, and made the easy decision to bring her home. Not only did they take the time to do another quick check up, the gentleman who helped us found a collar, leash, and 2 toys for our new baby to share with our other dog. We also received a certificate for a free first vet appt, which allowed us to get her treatment for her runny nose. All in all, I will be happy to go back for our next rescue! And would recommend this shelter for anyone looking for a new friend.

When I called to see if we might be able to come by even though we live in Reno, they answered kindly and said they adopt long distance all the time! The facility is beautiful, and the animals are well-taken care of. Also, their website is fantastic and updates in real time. We adopted a 1 year old American shorthair named Toast-- toast had a sign on her kennel that she wasn't available yet, and when we asked, our matchmaker was very helpful explaining all the paperwork for all the cats. We were able to meet her, even though she wasn't yet available. We had to come back and pick her up after her spay 2 days later, which ended up happening a day earlier than scheduled and she didn't have to be in a car for a long ride home right after the surgery. The staff remembered us when we came back, and also gave us a plastic carrier for the long ride home rather than Toast riding in a box. Considerate, easy to work with, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. Went the extra mile. Thank you for our sweet furball!

The directions to the place weren't very straightforward, but after driving around the property we eventually spotted the sign on the building. Before he got his shots, we had to sign him in, and the staff was sooooo friendly. You could immediately tell they genuinely loved dogs. Having such welcoming and caring staff made the visit a lot easier and less stressful for both us and the dogs. While we were there, we also ran into some other friendly dogs, which was nice. There was even a mini dog park area in the front for pets waiting for their visit, along with a water bowl for the dogs and cats. It was a thoughtful touch that made the place feel very pet friendly. Overall, it was a really good visit. We'll definitely be coming back for his second round of shots, and honestly, I'm excited to bring him back already Lastly, there's no photos or video recording while your pet is getting its shots.

Anyway- I HIGHLY recommend going through this rescue if you are looking for an organization and people who honestly just love dogs and are not in it for the money like many other organizations.
