Overpriced mess. When I asked how much for the items I was interested in- the woman in charge told me it wasn't for sale. Then the few, mostly broken items I did want that she was willing to sell were way over priced. Place is a mess, nothing is priced and the woman in charge is on a power trip. read more

Honestly a special place I have over the past four years periodically gone to this incredible gem right outside cotati to find things to furnish and create original art as Well as vintage items to help tell stories of the past for my business. I love Recycletown and my Mom demands that we go ever time she comes to visit. :) I go often as I love to keep useful things out of landfill as much as they do. Judy and her sister are great and easy to talk to. If you are kind and respectful to everyone, they are respectful back -- not sure why all the other reviews, but it looks like they are when another company owned it. Anyway, it is smaller than before, but not because they want it to be that way. My Mom and I always have great finds and very good prices. If you are looking for unusual furniture, remodeling items, bikes, yard knick knacks, this is a great place to go, especially if you have a creative hair! I hope this place NEVER goes away and its re-use mission is much needed in our times. read more

I wrote the only review for this place almost two years ago and after my experience today, I feel the need to redo it. In terms on having a variety of stuff to use for an assortment of projects, they're awesome. Here is what I had said before, "I always describe Recycle Town as a permanent garage sale because there are SO many treasures waiting to be found. I love Recycle Town because I am able to find all sorts of useful "junk" that people were just going to throw away. It's a very helpful place for artists as there is such a big variety of stuff to work with for super cheap. I've gotten books, flower pots, ski poles, and all sorts of random stuff for just a few dollars. They close at 3 so make sure you get out there early." I'd like to add something about customer service because my previous review didn't mention it. Since this is the sort of place that can not be judged on the products since it's such an assortment of (low quality) items that were basically saved from the dump - I gotta mention how important being POLITE is to customers. I went this morning on a hunt for some sort of stable base for three small sculptures I am making. I saw an abundance of old traffic cones all over the giant space and greeted the man behind the desk with a friendly "good morning" and asked if any of the traffic cones were for sale or if they were all being used for safety. With a stupid smirk and what sounded like a sarcastic response, he said, "yes, they are all for safety." I pointed to some that were knocked over and up against a wall and asked if those ones, clearly NOT being used to keep people safe, were available. I thought he was just joking around with me and expected him to say that I could at least buy a few since there were well over 25 laying around. He said, "They ALL are for safety" and I turned to leave, shocked at how rude the guy had just been since I rarely have experiences like that. I left empty handed though there were plenty of things that could have been useful for my project. I just don't want to support a place that can't even respond to people with kindness. I bet if I had gone to someone else, I would have received a much difference experience as this guy was clearly just a grump. The guy I was with claimed that he had given him a rude look upon arrival and theorized that because my friend was dressed for work and is a very tall man, that maybe the guy was just judging him for some reason as my buddy claims that happens a lot because of his size and the way he dresses for work. I have been a customer of Recycle town ( run by Garbage Reincarnated Inc) for 20 years. There have been many changes over the years but this is still the best place in this County as well as neighboring counties to find vintage building materials at a modest cost. There are many kinds of inventory to suit everyone's interests. Housewares, kid's toys, bicycles, ceramic tile, porcelain sinks, windows, furniture, mirrors, linens, vacuums and appliances are just a quick list of the many items to be found. The key is to remember that what is available today will most likely be sold & gone tomorrow. So go out the Recycle Town prepared to buy and haul away today. read more

So disgusted by the sisters that run this place, the blatant greed and bad attitude and obvious sexual discrimination towards men. . I used to shop here regularly for good deals on items I could refinish or repurpose and sell. I believe anything you need has already been purchased and thrown away by someone else so why keep buying new? Anyway, about three years ago I purchased some hollow wood pocket doors. Nothing special but the brass doorknobs. I wasn't allowed to buy just the door knobs so I bought the doors for asking price, took the doorknobs off and left the doors. Next time I came one of the two sisters ran up to me, "bowed up" like she was gonna fight me, accusing me of I don't know what. Talking about the doors, that I conned her into selling me the doors but after the fact saying they were valuable. I LEFT THE DOORS THERE! What's the problem? The truth is someone sold the doors earlier that day and she got in trouble for selling them again so she decided to make me the scapegoat. She kept coming at me, yelling at me telling me I was banned unless I brought the door knobs back. But I paid you for the doors and that included the doorknobs. I'm not bringing them back, there was no sold sign on them and a month prior customers were not allowed to buy something and leave it, if you want something you buy it and take it right then. That was always the policy. I was permanently banned from recycle town. For the next 2 years I intermittently go back to see if the ban is still in effect. Each time, not causing any scene or ruckus I was harassed and verbally abused. Followed within 3 inches of my personal space. The most recent time she actually got on the bullhorn and yelled things like "you're not gonna buy anything just leave! We don't want you here, you're not welcome here! Just go away!" On and on and on. I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the nonsensical logic and the hilarity of this grown woman's behavior. These sisters are millionaires. The property they own in this town along with the fact they get paid to clear estates then they sell the items they get paid to take away on top of getting items to resell for free dropped off by the truck loads every minute at the dumps it just makes me sick the greed and selfishness at work and on display here. Over priced not so they can give back to the community or help others but so they can make enough profit to add more zeros to an already overweight under-earned bank account they can't get big enough. Gluttony, greed, avarice; too many deadly sins in one. I won't give these girls one dime of my money. Household toxics is the only thing worth coming here for, responsible people living, an eco friendly life recycling household toxics so they don't pollute our landfill; now that's something I'm proud to partake in. read more

Great place for recycling of all kinds. Most of it it's free . They even take your old doors,windows,toxic materials,you name it. Also all garbage just pull in and dump. Pretty good organized place and reasonably priced. read more

Well if you're looking for not only bad customer service but employees that are belligerently rude, shop at recycle town! It was minutes after 3 and the employee started yelling at my brother and I as if we were idiots. He was 100 ft away and I didn't realize that shouting was directed towards me. Not nearly as much stuff to browse as in the past. I was looking for windows, doors, and other architectural stuff. There's a whole garden setup which is not for sale. That seemed kind of strange. read more
