One of my employees came into town for work and demanded that we visit this legendary restaurant. I had heard about it here and there but was not aware of the hidden gem I was so close to for so long. While this is a "buffet style", the service is extremely friendly and helpful. There's a very wide selection of options that all look amazing! And everything I got proved that to be correct. This is a great, cozy experience that is only open on the weekends and is totally worth a visit.

Great selection, friendly service, delicious food. My only complaint would be the polish sausage was a little dry and tough, but it was sitting out on a buffet, so... The rest of the food was above average, kind of like my grandma used to make. I certainly got my money's worth with the delicious food. Highly recommend!

Buffet is amazing and the mashed potatoes are delicious and the stuff cabbage rolls are delicious too . They are so yummy

First time here and I was in love at first bite. The food is amazing and very tasty and the service was excellent I never had to ask for a refill on my drink and the waitress was so friendly and polite I can't wait to go back

Booth seating on the bar side. Plenty more seating available.

We made a reservation as we were a group of 5 and it was not an issue, but it could be on a weekend. There was only one server, but she was on top of her game. The restaurant is European, so it's not designed to be the American rush to eat. We started with potato pierogi to share. They were so amazing! My entree was stuffed chick with dumplings and a lovely cucumber salad. Very good, decent portion. The only detractor could be the restroom which is down a flight of stairs, and could be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. Def worth checking out.

Sour Rye Soup: Not bad, but honestly, I wouldn't order it again... the fermented sourness was just too direct and intense. Polish Hunters Stew: Apparently a national dish of Poland. The first bite tasted like Italian meat sauce, with a rich tomato flavor and a slight smoky aroma; then I discovered the ingredients included sausage, cured beef brisket, minced meat, and sauerkraut, making it quite substantial and much more satisfying than Italian meat sauce. Overall, it was a rich, sweet and sour flavor, perfect with rice, pasta, or bread. Sauerkraut & Mushroom Pierogi: Dumplings, but the Polish version. The sauerkraut was only slightly sour, refreshing and delicious with the mushrooms, while the sour cream added a touch of creaminess and richness. Unfortunately, the skin was thick and sticky, as if it had been boiled for a long time. For better dumplings skin, please turn to a Northeastern Chinese. Half Duck: Strangely, it reminded me of confit de canard. The meat was incredibly tender, falling off the bone with a gentle pull; the melt-in-your-mouth texture was truly delightful. The cranberry sauce was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour, with a rich fruity and fermented aroma. The rosemary emerged in the aftertaste, enriching the flavors and cutting through the richness. The accompanying sauerkraut was even better than the duck, with a crunchy texture and a mild, pleasant sourness, enveloped in a rich buttery and creamy flavor. The accompanying fpotatoes were also soft and delicious, but the roasted pear was too overpowering in its softness and sweetness, not meeting my expectations for a palate cleanser. Table Bread: The bread itself was unremarkable, but the generous amount of butter was commendable. I cannot believe that there is only one server for all the tables.

Seeing their instagram reels and videos drew me to come check this place out. I tend to not go to Polish restaurants much because I have my mom for that lol. I married into a second gen Polish fam and so going to Polish restaurants occasionally brings them back memories back to when their aunt used to own a Polish restaurant in Chicago back in the days. Food was amazing and so worth it. The potato pancakes were the best I've had in a while (don't tell my mom). I was glad that they didn't taste like old frying oil and were fresh. I also had the red barszcz with a krokiet and it was so good. I had a taste for a grilled sausage with onions and potato/cheese pierogi and it hit the spot. Rest of the family enjoyed their food as well and we will definitely be back! I do wish they offered zapiekanki though but it's ok! The Polish plates my fam got all looked so good and highly recommended by them to get a taste of a little of a few main things :)

I had gone to their former location in the now closed Washington Food Hall and enjoyed the cuisine immensely....but a couple weeks ago, I went to their current location in the Ogilvie Train Station within their food court. This time around, I decided to play it safe and try their paczki burger that of course has a Colombian twist. The bun itself was the paczki part but the inside it had an angus patty with melted cheese, sofrito, pickled slaw, and a garlic and tomato Aioli. It also had pickles in it too. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and satisfying the burger was. It was neither too sweet nor too savory....something that I'd try again in a heartbeat. Check this location out. No. But I am a different case. I have Ukrainian heritage, and almost everything here is extremely similar to what my mom makes at home. Considering that I am looking at a relocation to Chicago, leaving mom 1,000 miles away, having something which so closely reminds me of home is pretty much priceless. Now, of course I have to say that there is no borscht in the galaxy, nay, the universe , that holds a candle to my mom's. Thus, I have to be careful here: I can tell you that to me, the borscht was a little on the sour side and lacked meat... but that's because of the impossible comparison being made. So, if I am to remain impartial, I will say this: everything in Old Lviv was 100% authentic, 100% delicious, and 100% approachable. To those with Ukrainian heritage, you may find yourself in the same boat as me, where it's terrific but not like mama used to make. However, if you do not have that background - you should 100% get on the 66 bus and try it out! Bonus for friendly service, a cozy vibe, and a very reasonable prices!
