With so many restaurants to choose from around the area I was very undecided but after a recommendation from a local (I'm traveling for work), I finally gave Best Gyros a chance. Glad I did! Have you ever had a food craving but can't pinpoint what it is? I've been in that "I want to eat but I don't know what I want to eat" mood and nothing seems to satisfy the craving. This place definitely lives up its name, unlike a lot of places that boast "A+, Best, World Famous, etc" Not only is it incredible value (a large takeout box for under $10), but also the food is great. The plate comes with pita, some salad, rice, and gyro, and the gyro is very juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. The portions are HUGE but I have to know why you put mayo on your cheesesteaks AND cheddar cheese on your Greek Salads??? YUK! Other than that though the food has been spot on and delicious. Ask for extra tzatziki as theirs is THAT good! Pita is always soft and pillowy too, which is great when paired with their Gyro meat that's so flavorful. My wife chose the gyro salad with a side of hummus. My gyro platter was simply terrific. The gyro meat was, of course, ample, but the winner to this dish was the rice. It was simple , long grained rice, but cooked in a way that made it truly memorable. The dish itself was more than ample. My wife said that she hadn't seen a salad with gyro meat and that this was very good. . For lunch, I got a very tasty gyro platter plus tips on how to better cook rice plus a new recipe for lentil soup. That was an easy four star dinner. I believe this place changed management. The restaurant is called "Best Gyros" now. The store is very clean and like most gyros places, it's always empty because most people get the food to go. I had the Gyro salad to-go (salad, gyros, pita bread, and ranch sauce). Salad was fresh and served in a big portion. I never had bad gyro before but the gyro here was a big disappointment. The gyro had no flavor whatsoever. How can a place called "Best Gyros" has the worst gyro ever! The pita bread was on the tough side. I bit one small piece and threw the rest away. I had gyro salads many time before and never had to use the ranch unless it was really bad. "May be the ranch sauce will save this!", I thought...Nope. Ranch sauce was watered down so much, it tasted nothing like ranch. I was starving after gym but I gotta admit this was the worst salad in my life!!
