I dropped in for a pedicure. Wow! They did a great job and very friendly! Several chairs! I'll be going back!

I've been pretty exclusively going to this nail salon for the last three years. I only went to one other place, one time. I have had: gel nails on my hands and toes, regular pedicures, the full gamut of their "special" pedicures. I have even had a full waxing done here for summertime. I am part of their loyalty program, and while I don't come every month, I would've said I'm pretty loyal to this place. Today (my birthday, which they knew about, because that is how they track the loyalty program, along with saying happy birthday verbally after), I got a green tea pedicure and a simple clean up manicure of my nails (no polish, just cleaning up the cuticle bed and nails). Pedicure was fine, no complaints. Manicure - she was so rough with the clean-up of my cuticles; it was painful, and she actually went too deep on my ring finger and made it bleed. Then I go sit down to dry my toes, and she gave me a decent shoulder massage. She asked me then to pay, told me my total was $95. I took $120 out of my account, intending to use some of the change to tip her. I handed her the whole $120, and then the manager told me it'll just be $89 since I was paying cash. So I held out my hand for her to give me back the 5th $20 that she was holding, and went to give her my $11 in change instead. I realize that was less than 20%, but that was my decision to make. This is where it all went to sh*t. She actually REFUSED the tip and straight out told me that I wasn't giving her enough and that the "usual in america" is 20%. And THEN moved some papers to point to their tip chart on the countertop. I did end up giving her $16 instead, but I let her know that DEMANDING a higher tip was not acceptable, tips are not mandatory and doing that was not okay. After, she came over to ask me if I was mad, and tried to give me a $5 off coupon for my next visit (AS IF!) "since it was my birthday" (yeah right, she f'd up and knew it). I spoke to the manager, and he stated the have a policy in place for their technicians that they are not allowed to ask for a tip and he's unsure why she did that just then. No other compensation was offered, I am not sure I'd be back even if they had. I gave the manager back his "coupon". Overall, this place isn't bad - but I have had similar experiences with their gel nail manicures as others have mentioned on here (peeling after a week or less), and the timers on everything feels ridiculous. The atmosphere is nice, and if you don't have someone demanding a tip from you, you'll probably have a decent experience. read more

Great place! This was my first visit . I was welcomed immediately. The business takes top priority for protection from the dreaded covid virus. I felt very safe and germ free. The business is large enough for adequate spacing between clients and techicians. Very clean. I've been on the search for an experienced nail technician whom is attentive to detail and pampering. Today I had the pleasure of a powder gel French manicure with Sharon. I received excellence to detail and professionalism with her skills. She verified what I was expecting prior to each process. Also, the price was Great for all I received! The mani included manual cuticle removal, not with a dremal tool. I wish I could give negative stars. WORSE pedicure of my life ! I wouldn't even go back for free. First off I had gel polish on my toes and my "nail tech" Susan struggled to remove the polish with that drill machine for over an hour. She ultimately burned my toe nail and I told her she was burning me and she ignored me. Literally damaged my toe nail so I could not get gel polish like I wanted to BC she burned my nail so much. Not to mention she cut me about 3 times on both toes and I told her and she ignored me yet again. No sanitation was conducted while I was bleeding. All she did was put a cotton ball full of alcohol on my burning toe nail and cut. She did not put ointment or any powder on the wound and did not put alcohol on the items she was using. Literally worse pedicure I've ever had in my life. She didn't even cut my cuticle ! I had skin hanging from heel and the paint job? Looked like my 3 year old did it. I asked for the manager as soon as I went to dry my feet who was hesitant about the whole situation and ultimately gave me a $35 gift card and gave Susan ointment to apply On my cut lol. The next day my Polish is chipping and my heel is in so much pain I can barely Walk. I think she took Too much skin off or I caught some bacteria there. Needless to say I will NEVER go back. Made an appt. for pedicures for myself and my daughter. We got there early; about 10 minutes. We were taken right away & seated. Our technicians were barely welcoming. They started to fill the basins with water...NO hot water. My tech excused himself to check the issue; their heater was not on; shouldn't you check that when you know you have clients coming in for service. Long story short, 2 cold water pedicures; not what I was paying for. My tech rushed through my service; my big toes aren't even the same length. My daughter had slightly better experience with her service. I probably should have left when there was no hot water. Will not be going back. Wish I had something positive to say... read more

This was the most painful experience of getting my nails done I've ever had. My cuticle was pushed and cut way too far back, I was bleeding and my fingers were swollen and red. It was clear that I was in pain, but the technician kept cutting, saying "sorry", but not stopping. All I wanted was a gel manicure. I'm still bleeding, and my fingertips are sore. This has fast become my go to nail spot. Their hours are great, they don't give you side eye if you come in the door for a mani and pedi an hour before they close like some other spots do. I dont really do anything fancy or require any designs or too much pizazz with my nails - I just get a basic gel manicure every 2 weeks and a pedicure probably every 8 weeks. They have great massage chairs, a variety of different pedicure options- I love the Green Tea version. They give great feet massages, they rub your shoulders while your nails are curing and they are quick and efficient. I also love that they dont butcher my cuticles- I have really sensitive cuticles and I swear most places just absolutely annihilate my cuticle skin and I end up with hang nails for a full week. Not Red Carpet- I simply remind them to not do too much on the cuticles and they never push it. They lose a star because I cannot figure out their pricing- i have paid $25 for a gel manicure up to $35. Confusing. I will continue to go here since they are open on Sundays and Monday nights which are typically my only free times to go. read more

I went here with my best friend a the lady doing my nails was way to aggressive with the filing to the point my fingers started bleeding and then she poured rubbing alcohol on the cuts. This lady was also very judgmentel. I asked for a very simple design, short almond french tips with a tiny red heart in the middle of each finger. not hard. in the end my nails ended up being all different shapes and sizes, the frenches looked super shaky and uneven, and the heart were smudged and deformed. I didn't want to post this. In fact it's my first bad review ever. But I am very frustrated. I came in a week ago to get my nails filled. The lady that did them did an awful job. She filed my skin on my nails so much that i was bleeding and she just continued to after I pulled my hands back. The nails were different sizes. The shapes weren't the same and they with lumpy and bumpy and the color wasn't what i asked for. I was going to just ride it out though. 4 days later my nail comes off. I needed it to be fixed. So I came back and explained I had just gotten them done there. So they said they would fix it. I went ahead and had them fix all of them since they looked awful. They asked me who did them and I told them the lady named young had done them. A different lady had started fixing them when the owner or the male manager brought the lady named young over and asked if she's the one that did them. I told them yes and they made her fix my nails. Very poor social skills with that move and I honestly didn't want her to fix my nails since she had messed them up the first time. However I believe in second chances. So I let her. She was filing my skin AGAIN and making them bleed. 7 of 10 nails have sores on them now from them. Barely 36 hours later and the same nail that she had fixed came off. I am extremely disappointed as I just went there 36 hours ago to get them fixed and they popped off again. I found some nail glue around my house and just glued it back on until i make an appointment at a different salon in two weeks. I will not be coming back. I can't justify giving more than the normal second chance to fix the problems. I had went to Jenny before and loved her. But young did an awful job and I hate to be the one to give a bad review. But I am a stay at home mom so getting my nails done is the only luxury I get to do anymore. So I am very disappointed I have to go 2 weeks with a broken nail after just getting it fixed. I also got a pedicure the first time when i filled my nails and the polish was very poorly painted on, so much so that it chipped as soon as I got home that night. Today I had a pedicure, then figured I would just get a regular manicure, no polish, just to clean up my cuticles and shape my nails. They aren't long, but are healthy and clean. I got the blueberry pedi with basic French gel. it was nice they massaged your feet and added hot towels. Not much different than anywhere else. Was my first time here today. I was taken right away. I got a manicure with a French gel tips. They took their time and did a great job. They really do a thorough job when it comes to removing cuticles. If this bothers you just tell them. I liked how they make small talk with you. They do a back massage and a paraffin wax. Hands felt great afterward. Nails were cut very short which I like because of my work. I went in on a Sunday: no wait! I was in Enfield and desperately in need of a manicure. When I saw that this ace had such high reviews I figured I'd check it out. The salon itself is very large, beautiful, and clean. I thought for sure I had hit the jackpot when I walked in. I was promptly greeted and sent to a chair. Brian was my technician, and he was very friendly. Here's where things went south.... He did not trim my cuticles. I mean, he went through the motions and acted like he was, but he literally took nothing off. As someone who gets there nails done every two weeks religiously, I know that I am someone who always has a lot of cuticle, and the fact that he took nothing off was mind blowing. The exfoliation and the massage were nice, but not nice enough to compensate for the horrible paint job. It looks like a child painted my nails. First of all. WAY overpriced. It cost me over 100$ for a mani and pedi! Three times someone walked up and started rubbing my shoulders without asking if I wanted that or not. Very lazy and unprofessional tactics. This salon closes at 8:00 pm. I called at 7:00 pm, to see when they took their last client. I informed the man that I spoke with that I was roughly 15-20 min away and was en route as we spoke. I told him I only needed a gel pedicure. He insisted that if I were on my way they could see me and take care of my pedicure. I arrived at approximately 7:20 pm. The man that I spoke with told me that I was too late and tang they were closing at 8:00 pm. He said it would take them 40 minutes and that they could not see me. He had absolutely no remorse. I understand wanting to leave on time, but it is very unprofessional to tell someone one thing on the phone, allow them to waste their gas and then tell them you can not service them once they arrive. Do not recommend! My younger daughter went with her friend to have manicures. What should have been a fun girly experience, turned horrible. Upon entering she showed them the design with regular polish that she wanted. They quoted her $35.00 plus tax. They told her she had to make payment before the service. She's younger so she paid it not knowing you pay after service is complete and you are satisfied. So she paid using her debit card. They then told her she had to pay TIP ahead of time. So, she paid 20% - $7.00 tip in cash. Apparently Red Carpet likes to scam innocent, unknowing people! The nail tech was so rough on her she has cuts on her fingers from filing her skin (even under her nail), her cuticles were bleeding so badly they had to use tissues to wipe the blood off but never properly attended to the wounds, the tech filed the top of her nail so much she was crying and it's all lumpy scuffed on top and now her natural nails are breaking off they filed them so thin. After all that she was then told they couldn't do the design, used nail polish remover to take off the mess they made (on her cuts), refunded $15.00 and told her she was done. She didn't even get polish on her nails. Her friends manicure took a total of 10 minutes to do and the polish was bubbly and smudged. The woman was rude to her and rushed her through. When the parent that brought the girls complained they gave them each a $40.00 gift certificate instead of refunding their money and giving back the tip!!!! Like she will ever go there again after the job they did on her! Clearly they know it will never be used and that's why they give certificates instead of refunding! Horrible experience, my friend and I tried it for the first and last time. We wanted basic pedicures. The guy pushed my cuticles back so bad they hurt and I had to keep telling him he was hurting me. Then he added someone to the nail polish that made it chunky, I had to tell him that it looked bad And asked to get another color. He then dropped the new bottle and it broke and the nail polish went everywhere. A new guy had to come in and finish mine. My friend asked for a flower design and he literally drew dots on her toes. A lady came over and asked her for a picture of what she wanted, how do u not know how to do a flower design?? I made an appointment and "Young" took me in, spent a lot of time on her phone between nails, was extremely rough and made my cuticles bleed (they were swollen for days after). I am blissed out on this place! Thank you, Yelp Mobile, for guiding me here. I was making my way from Bradley Airport to my home in Western Mass and felt an insane urge for some pampering. I'd been on my feet for days, my back was tense, and I was completely exhausted. I searched nail salons on my phone, found this place, and the rest is history. Let me tell you about this history. Friendly greeting, plasma tvs, hot stone massages for feet and hands. Sterilized tools, clean, pleasant environment. I'm sure it's always slow on rainy Thursday afternoons, but I got no less than 5 shoulder massages during my mani-pedi. Incredible. I've been to some terrible nail salons in Western Mass, ones where I've questioned the cleanliness and the quality of service. Red Carpet was amazing. I don't know how to not make this part of my "re-entry" from business travel every time I head back home! It is completely worth the $45 for both a manicure and pedicure (and if you want just a bit of pampering, go for the insanely reasonably priced $15 manicure). It takes a lot for me to give a five star review, and I am notoriously critical of places that offer a variety of beauty services, but after half a dozen trips to Red Carpet Nails & Spa I am not only convinced it is the best nail salon in the area hands down (pun intended!) but certainly one of the best nail salons I have ever been to. Every technician I have had the pleasure of receiving has been professional, polite, and very good at their job. My gel manicure, eyebrow wax, and spa pedicures of several varieties have been top notch. Every service comes complete with lengthy massages (sometimes from more than one staff member!) and top quality products. Everything is extremely clean, the cleanest I have ever experienced. Each pedicure, for example, uses individually packaged soak, scrub, and lotion so there are no huge, sloppy, community bottles slopping around the floor. If you like to have your own tools, they do offer a "box" service, which is neatly tucked away so as to not be unsightly. The space is very open and bright, there is not even a trace of bad chemical smell, and they boast several huge plasma screen TVs playing a variety of movies. Even the massage chairs were above the normal quality! There is a delightful selection of regular and gel colors, as well as several design options available for those who want a more creative flair. The place has been full every time I've come in, but I have never had to wait more than five minutes- they have ample staff, both male and female, and someone is always there to greet you immediately and ask what you need- no awkwardly hanging around the door waiting for someone to look up at you an whisper, "can I help you" through their face mask. Overall, it is a very up-scale, expensive feeling salon with reasonable prices and a very nice staff! Easily the best pedicure I've ever had and there have been quite a few in my days. I'm confused by people complaining about a $30 pedicure as being pricey. That is standard in my book and with the quality, well worth every penny. James was fabulous. Very careful and hands of magician with the leg and foot message. There's a brief shoulder, neck massage while waiting for nails to dry which made the whole experience go above and beyond. I usually flip through social media while getting a pedicure but I was too relaxed to do so. Tons of pedicure tubs and had plenty of staff working. I didn't have to wait at 2:30pm on a Saturday. The place is beyond clean and tidy. They use scrubs and lotions from single-use packets and have tool sterilizers in visible sit. Cash purchases are tax free, but 1.90 to use my card didn't presentment. Tips are cash only but they have an ATM and will gladly make change. read more

I was really excited when I found a place on Yelp that had so many favorable reviews. I arrived right when they opened and waited a moment in the entrance area for them to finish setting up for the day. I requested a mani pedi and they said it would be just a moment. My nail technician, Choi, must have been having a bad day! She first asked if I was a member and I said I was not. She tried selling me and I politely declined. (I live in West Hartford and a membership in Enfield wouldn't make sense for me) Then she tried upselling me on the basic pedicure I selected. She said I needed a callus removal, which is far from the truth, as I enjoy pedicures twice a month and buff my feet in the shower pretty regularly. I again politely declined and she was pretty much mute for the rest of the pedicure. I tried bringing her back from her unpleasantness by mentioning how nice the leg massage was....but it fell on deaf ears. When it was time to move chairs to the manicure station she didn't help open the chair to ease the transition to the next service at all. I wasn't pleased and even mentioned how disappointed I was to the woman I was seated next to and she said she didn't blame me!! Once I sat down at the mani location and began and thought I wasn't having a relaxing time and the woman wasn't doing that great of job.... so why would I spend any more time or money on a service?! I decided to forgo the manicure and cut my losses. She then lead me over to the drying station and then a few minutes later came up behind me and started massaging my neck, it was awkward, because she must have known how unhappy I was but was hoping to salvage her gratuity. I then paid with a credit card and they told me I couldn't tip on it so I'd have to get cash. I mentioned I needed to go to the bank to get cash and I'd be back. Needless to say the service didn't warrant a tip and I didn't return. This place is very clean and set up with a good design. It's spacious, they have a few TVs and movies playing for you to watch while you get a pedicure. The service was great, the manager is attentive and always available. It is quiet and relaxing. I got a regular spa pedicure ($40, but they were having a 20% off sale so it was $32.) I felt that for that price it was a great value. The pedicure lasted a good amount of time and the leg massage was fantastic. They have a wide variety of OPI colors to choose from. I started coming to Red Carpet in 2011 on a recommendation from a friend. I only get pedicures but have been pleased every time. Someone is there to greet customers immediately and there's rarely a wait regardless of how busy they are. Today, I came in and saw about ten people in the pedicure chairs.
