This was my first time staying at a Hard Rock Hotel and will likely be my last…read more For a brand built on rock music, big personality, cool guitars, it seemed like a good vibe, but overall, this hotel fails to shine through its age and mustiness. Hard Rock Cancun feels more like a faded backstage pass. *AMBIANCE* The hotel is noticeably dated--worn furniture, tired decor, and not well kept. In some guest hallways and rooms, you are hit with a strong MILDEW / MOLD smell the second you walk in, which was an instant red flag and made it hard to appreciate anything else. We had to switch rooms after the first night from the smell which gave me a headache. We also noticed condensation leaking from the AC, broken furniture, cracks in the walls, etc. Now the best part was probably the beautiful beachfront location, large pool facility and getting to see the oceanfront view. *FOOD* If you want to eat dinner at the themed restaurants (Hibachi, Italian, Steakhouse, Seafood), you have to reserve a time slot on their app. The app was quite glitchy. The food had its moments, but overall, it felt like the chefs were playing a game of culinary roulette. Some dishes were good enough to make me hopeful, while others made me question every life choice that led me to that buffet tray. I would say the best spot was the pizzeria, it was fresh, though pies were gone in seconds once they came out from the oven. *SERVICE* Upon instantly checking in, you feel like you are herded like cattle by being passed onto their concierge that tries to sneak in a timeshare presentation. That said, service at this hotel felt more reactive than proactive. Overall, for a 5-star hotel, it certainly felt a lot lower than that. If you're looking for a clean stay with 5-star service, I'd probably look elsewhere.

More than 3 hours later, it was still closed. Considering this is an all-inclusive resort and quite expensive, this was a major downside for us. Pool maintenance is important, but guests should not lose access to such a key amenity during peak hours. The pool should be properly maintained on a regular basis to avoid extended closures. Unfortunately, this significantly affected our experience, and because of these issues, we would not return.

I don't know if…read morethat is the reason we received the level of hospitality and service that we did, but I'm hoping that guests staying in standard rooms received the same spectacular experience! Due to having a suite, we had butlers Romero and Isaías, and they were both AMAZING. They were extremely attentive, and whatever we needed was never an issue. If we asked for something, it was done quickly and without hesitation. You honestly couldn't ask for better service. We also had access to the Aqua Club, which was open from 7 AM-10 PM and offered premium liquor along with light snacks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The waiters there--Daniel, Guillermo, and Eduardo--were great! They were even willing to make us our favorite shots that they had never heard of (blowjobs... Google it ), but they made them anyway! The lounge itself is super relaxing, with spectacular ocean views from the 5th floor. Now, onto the part we ALL care about the most: THE FOOD! There are several restaurants on the property to choose from, but our absolute favorite was Hidden Garden, which is Asian-inspired and run by Chef Mario. Everything we ordered was spectacular! Chef Mario even came out to our table, greeted us personally, and provided us with a menu curated by him--which I'm assuming was because it was my birthday... lol. They also have one paid restaurant called Carnivore, which is a steakhouse. Now, I am a self-proclaimed steakhouse snob, so I have to keep it real: for the price, it was mid. But for a resort steakhouse, it was good. The rest of the food throughout the resort was WAAYYYY better than expected--even the poolside grill and the food you can order directly to your cabana. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ribs they made at the poolside grill every day were FANTASTIC! The head of culinary at the resort, Mr. Germain, is definitely doing what needs to be done because the food was consistently impressive throughout the property. Now, the second-most important thing for most people: NIGHTLIFE. Personally, I came to relax, and the overall vibe of the resort definitely gives relaxation. However, they do have a nightclub called Egos, which stays open until 1 AM. I went once, but it wasn't really my music or my vibe. If you're looking for more of a nightlife scene, I would suggest heading into the city. BUTTTT... if you love a good pool party, make sure you hit the Moët Pool Party because BABYYYYYY... it was LIT! Overall, the resort exceeded my expectations. The service, food, atmosphere, and attention to detail made for an amazing experience, and I would absolutely consider coming back!

However, what truly struck us both this time was the incredibly warm treatment we received. A hotel is only as great as its staff, and the team here is what makes it special. We booked a club-level oceanfront room, which included butler service. Our butler, Arturo, absolutely came through for us. He handled our restaurant and cabana reservations ahead of time and was instrumental in securing a late check-out on our final day. The dining at this all-inclusive is superb. For breakfast, Siete offers a decent buffet, and our waiter, Helvert, was incredibly kind and always took the time to chat with us. For dinner, DB was our top choice for elegant continental dining, complete with a live pianist. The manager, Susana, provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and the chef even came out to greet us. We also loved Hidden Gardens, a relaxed Asian-fusion spot with tasty food, impeccable service, and another welcome visit from the chef. During the sweltering day, the pool is the main draw. Lalo was always helpful in securing our requested cabana. They cost an extra $115 each time, but they are completely worth it to escape the intense sun. Our pool waitress, Marysol, befriended us and knew exactly what non-alcoholic drinks to bring us. My wife is a big coffee drinker, so we frequently stopped by the included Starbucks, where David the barista gave excellent service and loved chatting with me about World Cup soccer. Also, a big shoutout goes out to Lady and Daisy at the spa. They gave my wife and I heavenly massages. However, the absolute heart of the entire hotel is Marco, the extraordinary juicer at Siete! His positivity, jokes, and contagious smile drew a long line of people waiting for his blended drinks every morning. Thank you to everyone for making our trip so memorable!

I have nothing but good things to say about this place for a all inclusive, ADULTS ONLY resort. The resort it self was clean, modern and flawless. The service and people working there was top notch, everyone made us feel like royalty. The food was so good, obviously some spots weren't perfect but 90% of the time we LOVED what we ate. Was full inclusive so we ate a ton and drank a lot! The pools were beautiful and lots of options having 4. From Tuesday to Thursday it was so easy to get a spot at the pool or beach, would show up at 11am and find a two chairs and umbrella no problem. Friday/Saturday it was a bit harder since it's the weekend so the pool area was packed by 1pm but went to the beach and again found two spots with umbrella no problem. Beach was solid for hotel zone, this area of Cancun is known for having bad seaweed but the resort did its best to keep it cleaned up. Was able to get in the water some days and not see the seaweed everywhere. We did a preferred booking so got room on a higher floor, exclusive quick check in, access to roof top pool and restaurant. So if you don't care about those things just do a regular room but the upstairs pool was incredible. This place is definitely a relaxing resort, not a ton to do at night but that's what we wanted for our honeymoon. Pool can be somewhat lively during the day with music, and performances but at night it's just casual bars, restaurants and what not. Everything dies down before 12. Did a spa day too and it was great, had a couples massage, full body scrub, and hydrotherapy circuit for two that costs $398. I recommend booking it when you arrive as they may have deals. It was a great experience overall, we would for sure come back 100%!!! Every single worker there was so nice and helpful. Did not have a single bad experience with anyone that worked there.

They were kind, attentive, and genuinely made our stay more enjoyable. Without them, this would have been a one-star review. The resort lures you in with the promise of an all-inclusive vacation, but the reality was incredibly disappointing. The food was some of the most unappetizing I've ever seen at a resort. Very little looked fresh or appetizing, and dining quickly became something we dreaded rather than enjoyed. The property itself is very dated. The rooms, common areas, and grounds all show significant wear, and many areas felt dirty or in need of repair. We even had cockroaches in our room. Air conditioning was either weak or nonexistent in many parts of the resort, making it uncomfortable to escape the heat. One thing they don't make clear when booking is that there are different resort access levels based on your wristband color. We had blue bracelets, while guests with black bracelets had access to noticeably nicer amenities and areas. It leaves standard guests feeling like second-class visitors. Cleanliness was another major issue. Guests frequently left trash around the property, and we were disturbed to learn on our last day that reusable cups were being rinsed in a brown sanitizing solution before being handed back out. If you stay here, bring your own insulated cup. My husband and I both came home sick with bad colds, and while I can't say what caused it, seeing the cup sanitation process certainly didn't inspire confidence. Another disappointment was the atmosphere. All of the pool bars closed by 6:00 p.m., and by around 11:00 p.m. the resort felt completely dead. Aside from the spring break crowd, there wasn't much energy or entertainment. Overall, this resort feels like it's surviving on its spring break reputation rather than investing in the guest experience. Between the poor food, outdated facilities, cleanliness concerns, uncomfortable rooms, and confusing tiered access system, I would never recommend Grand Oasis Cancún. Save your money and book elsewhere

Everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The drinks were also great, and since my wife is pregnant, we really appreciated how careful the bartenders were about making sure her drinks had no alcohol. The food was probably one of the biggest disappointments. There wasn't much variety, and you could order the same meal on different days and have it come out looking and tasting completely different. The buffet food was often cold, and the omelet station usually had a long line, although the omelets themselves were good. Getting drinks at the buffet could also be difficult unless you caught your server early. Cleanliness was okay overall, but the public bathrooms was pretty gross. The air vents in the lobby were leaking from moisture and appeared to have mold around them. On the positive side, room service did a great job taking care of the room. There are three pools, including the pool with the swim-up bar. The workers do a good job trying to keep people entertained with things like Zumba, pool challenges, and balancing games in the water, but outside of that, there really isn't a whole lot going on at the resort. They also offer a spa and romantic dinners, but both are fairly pricey. There is a way to get one of these experiences for free, but you have to agree to attend a presentation/tour at another resort. Ours took roughly 2 1/2 hours and included breakfast. Just be aware that the main purpose of the presentation is to try to sell you a Hyatt timeshare, so keep that in mind when deciding whether the free offer is worth the time. This rating doesn't include excursions since those are separate from the resort itself. The beach and location were two of the better parts of the resort. The beach is right outside, and there's a large sandbar, so you can walk pretty far out before the water gets deep. One frustrating thing was the amount of seaweed along our section of the beach. We noticed that the resorts directly next to us along the same stretch of beach had significantly less seaweed and appeared to do a better job keeping their beach areas cleaned up. Most of the buildup seemed to be in front of Dream Sands. Considering this seemed to be one of the busier resorts in the area, we expected a little more effort to keep the beach clean. We didn't leave the resort much, but there seemed to be plenty of stores and other places nearby. Seating was easily one of the most frustrating parts. If you aren't outside by around 8 AM, good luck finding a decent chair by either the beach or the pool. There simply aren't enough chairs for the number of guests. You can reserve one of the nicer beds, but they're around $150 per day. Pool and beachside service could also use improvement. It was difficult to get a server's attention, and a couple of times we placed orders that never showed up. When you do get a server, I'd recommend ordering everything you want at once because they may not come back around for a while. The elevators were another small but consistent annoyance. Sometimes you'd get lucky, but most of the time we waited quite a while for one. Our ratings: Food: 2.5/5 Cleanliness: 3/5 Activities: 2.5/5 Location: 4/5 Beach: 4/5 Outside seating: 1/5 Service: 5/5 Beach/poolside service: 2/5 Drinks: 4/5 Overall, the friendly staff, drinks, beach, and location were the highlights. The biggest areas that could use improvement are the food consistency and variety, cleanliness, seating availability, activities, and pool/beachside service.

If you're not looking to do a ton of walking and prefer a more intimate, relaxed atmosphere, this resort fits that vibe well. The food was okay overall. The standout was definitely the Japanese restaurant with hibachi, which was one of the best dining experiences during the stay. The buffets were hit or miss, depending on timing and selection. However, there's a restaurant to the right of the pool, outside, that was consistently decent we enjoyed it enough to go back more than once. Customer service was a bright spot. Lorenzo at the Italian restaurant was extremely friendly and provided excellent service. Francy at Bar One deserves special recognition hands down one of the best bartenders I've come across in a long time. That said, the entertainment was underwhelming. Both the shows and the spaces where entertainment was hosted felt subpar, and I was honestly expecting more. Unfortunately, the main reason I could not rate this resort higher was due to a bed bug issue. I returned home and noticed inflamed bites on my arms, which appeared the very next day. That experience alone prevented me from giving this resort a 4 or 5, regardless of the positives. On a positive note, the guests were very friendly, just as welcoming as the hotel staff, and that truly helped make parts of the trip enjoyable. Final thoughts: Sandos Cancun may work well for travelers seeking a quieter, smaller resort with friendly service but due to cleanliness concerns, I'd recommend proceeding with caution.

If you're looking for a TRUE and HONEST review, keep reading…read more DO NOT COME HERE If you're looking for a relaxing, luxury all-inclusive resort, go elsewhere. This hotel is wildly overpriced for what it offers and is completely inappropriate for families. The entertainment is heavily sexualized--Playboy-style shows, devils, pole dancing, half-naked performers, and explicit themes almost nightly. Hallways (notably the 3rd and 5th floors) are lined with very sexual photos of men and women in lingerie or nude poses. We traveled with our very religious parents, and nowhere on the website does it disclose that this is essentially a sexual, adult-only experience. I've stayed at adult-only resorts before--this was on a completely different level and extremely uncomfortable. Watching these shows with parents was awkward and embarrassing. RESORT & ROOMS -- 1 STAR The resort itself is dated, small, and underwhelming. The front entrance is far from grand--very disappointing considering the price point. There are only two tiny elevators for the entire resort, with no airflow, long waits, and constant crowding. I stayed on the 4th floor and one elevator button didn't work properly, so it often skipped my floor for the entire week. Stairs were either inaccessible or nonexistent--I never once saw them. The rooms are run-down, dirty, and poorly maintained: * Sink didn't work * Shower full of patchwork repairs * Balcony felt unsafe--other balconies looked like they could crumble * Paid for an ocean view, got a view of an abandoned hotel Overall, the hotel felt sleazy, comparable to a low-end Las Vegas showgirl hotel. We all felt uncomfortable walking around. The atmosphere felt more suited for swingers or older men looking for "entertainment," not couples or families. FOOD -- 1 STAR The food was one of the biggest disappointments. Buffet: Small selection, repetitive, and frankly disgusting. It's the only breakfast option unless you pay for "Elite" status. Same food every day. I genuinely feel like I lost weight because nothing was appealing, and several items made me feel sick. Restaurants: Many were closed often, and we couldn't even eat at one because it was never open during our stay. Italian Restaurant: Good service, no reservation needed. Food tasted okay but everything was lukewarm. Other guests confirmed the same issue. Portions were very small. Teppanyaki: Good meal and entertaining show. Reservations required and fill quickly. Food tasted good, but the chef used the same utensils for raw chicken and beef and then served cooked food with them--a serious food safety issue. Fried ice cream was great. Skip the other dessert. St. Topez: The ONLY consistently good food on the entire resort. Opens at noon and available to everyone. Pizza, wings, burgers, tacos, guac--basic bar food, but good. We practically lived here because everything else was terrible. Room Service: 24/7, but poorly executed. Online ordering doesn't work despite advertising that it does. You must call. Late-night food took about an hour, arrived cold, and wasn't good. ENTERTAINMENT Some shows were genuinely impressive--NYE and Masquerade stood out. However, the scheduling was chaotic and unorganized. The app, TV screens, and concierge often gave conflicting information. Pool parties were especially awkward: half-naked dancers performing to rave music while guests just tried to relax. Most older couples looked confused or uncomfortable--this was clearly not what they thought they booked. The entertainment staff tried their best, but the vibe was completely mismatched. POOLS & BEACH * Pools: Three pools, but freezing cold. No swim-up bar, no hot tub. I swam once and couldn't stay in. * Beach: Beautiful, no seaweed. Chairs and cabanas are limited and require early towel reservations. Beach cabanas are for Elite guests only unless you settle for older, falling-apart ones. GYM Large but poorly maintained. Only two treadmills (one broken), all ellipticals broken, and many machines outdated. REVIEWS ARE MISLEADING Every single guest we spoke to was extremely disappointed. The reason this hotel has inflated reviews is because staff actively pressure guests to leave 5-star reviews by scanning QR codes while standing over you--often when you're drinking. This happened to me multiple times. This is my real, honest review, as requested. FINAL SUMMARY This resort felt like a sleazy Las Vegas hotel, not a luxury all-inclusive. We spent over $17,000 and had to "come to terms" with our booking just to survive the week. That should never happen at this price point. Do your research. Read the bad reviews. And book elsewhere.
