I've wanted to stay here for a few years now and finally decided to take a trip to Moab and Arches National Park. While the lodge is about 15 miles outside of town it is a very nice and quiet resort. We stayed in a riverside deluxe king and it was very comfortable with great views. The best part is that the river is literally right outside your patio. Embers is the restaurant on site, not a large menu but they serve good food. Nice western museum on site - many westerns were filmed in this area. read more

There are places that look beautiful in photos... and then there are places that make you stop talking for a minute. Red Cliffs Lodge was one of those for us. The drive alone felt unreal -- winding through towering red canyon walls with views changing around every corner. Easy access from Moab, but somehow it still feels peaceful and tucked away from everything. What made this place special wasn't just the scenery (which is incredible at literally any hour of the day), but the feeling of it. Quiet mornings, glowing cliffs at sunset, stars at night, campfires, river views... every direction looked like a movie scene. And honestly, the people here were genuinely kind. Not forced "tourist nice," but warm, relaxed, welcoming people who seemed to truly love where they work. We came for the views, but left remembering the atmosphere. Definitely one of those places that stays in your head after you leave. read more

We stayed in a riverfront room and it was everything we hoped for. Waking up to the Colorado River right outside the door, with red rock cliffs in every direction, is hard to beat. The horses on the property added to the whole feel of the place. The room was such a nice retreat from the Moab heat. Comfortable and exactly what you want after a day out driving and in the sun. Dinner at Ember was excellent. Great food, great drinks, and a nice atmosphere. The best touch is that they send you off with s'mores to enjoy at the end of the night -- the kind of small detail that turns a good stay into a memorable one. Beautiful property, thoughtful hospitality, and a setting that's honestly worth the trip on its own. We're already looking forward to staying again. Highly recommend. read more

This hotel is amazing. It's in Moab in the canyon past the town by about 8 miles. You drive through an epic canyon with beautiful red rocks. It's a nice drive passing tons of awesome camping areas creekside. This hotel is hidden and off the grid kind of. If you want to get away staying in luxury, with a legendary view. This is a must go to place. I will be coming back with the family. The food at the restaurant is great. The room was very nice and it's a short drive to Moab and to Arches. The bed was extremely comfortable. The added space with the kitchen and dining make rooms more comfortable instead of just a bed. The view is breathtaking to fall asleep to and wake up to. I wish I was staying longer instead of just staying for a single night, but I'll be back. read more

Nothing special. Not worth the money. I won't be coming back. I was disappointed to learn that the two-bedroom riverside cabin I reserved was unavailable when I checked in. I appreciated the discount I was given to downgrade to a king riverside room. The gentleman that checked me in was incredibly professional, courteous and friendly; that guy deserves a raise without question. The room I was given was clean and the view was excellent. The TV worked intermittently (maintenance had to come reset the box at one point) and the quality of sound from the low-quality TV is horrible. The ceiling fan constantly squeaked and wobbled regardless of speed or direction. The control for the electric window blinds is wired wrong (the down button raises the blinds and vice versa.) The incredibly inconsistent service at the restaurant bar was excellent on Sunday evening, but very poor on Saturday evening. After being told at checkin that the pet fee would be waived for my dog, I received an updated bill hours after checkout with the pet fee reinstated; I had to call to get that reversed. In retrospect, I'm grateful for the downgraded room with the discounted rate; if I had paid the full amount for the cabin I originally reserved I would have been very unsatisfied with my stay. Given the discounted rate for the downgraded room, I consider my stay acceptable but, overall, definitely not exceptional. Compared to the Hilton Hoodoo (where I usually stay when I'm in Moab) this property isn't anywhere close to Hoodoo's level of quality, comfort, style and excellent bar/restaurant service. read more

We recently stayed at Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab, Utah. The location is absolutely stunning, and the cabin accommodations were comfortable, well-appointed, and very enjoyable. We also had a great experience with the food during our stay. Unfortunately, what should have been an excellent visit was overshadowed by a surprise invoice I received two days after checkout for $50 in "destination" and parking fees. These charges were unexpected and left me feeling nickel-and-dimed after what was otherwise a wonderful stay. It's disappointing because the property itself is beautiful and has so much to offer. Adding fees after the fact detracts from the overall guest experience and leaves a negative final impression. Transparency in pricing is important, and unexpected charges like these can undermine the goodwill created by an otherwise outstanding property. I hope Marriott and Red Cliffs Lodge reconsider how these fees are communicated and charged. Without this issue, I would have left with nothing but positive things to say about my stay. read more

I had been looking forward to my stay at Red Cliffs due to all of the wonderful things I'd heard about it from my husband who had stayed here many times. We came planning to stay 5 nights but checked out after 1 night and we won't be back. Unfortunately Marriott purchased the lodge and they've ruined it. Their "renovation" is terrible. All of the charm has been removed. There used to be a full kitchenette but no more. There is a tiny fridge and no oven, stove, or coffee pot. They have a pod coffee maker. If you want to use the microwave you have to take it out of the lower cabinet. And there are no dishes, utensils, or silverware but they do have a large farmhouse sink. WTF! The bed used to face out to the lake but it is now facing a TV that has all functions except for live TV disabled. The cell service is terrible for calls tho data is OK. On the plus side, the staff is very friendly and helpful and they have a filtered tap for drinking water. Unfortunately that is the only good I can report. read more

My wife and I paid for a buffet style lunch to be told they are out of many items we ended up with a raw turkey burger. If you want a glass of wine or a cocktail your going to have to drive to the ranch 5 miles away or head into Moab which is about a 25 minute drive. read more

The location is beautiful. The red cliffs are all around you. I stayed in a queen size standard room and it was very well appointed and extremely comfortable. It's a level and a half. You walk in and you have your bedroom and your bathroom and your closet/dressing area. You walk down three steps and there's a kitchen area a table and a pullout couch. On top of that, there's a lovely patio with a sliding glass door. I was really hoping the stars would be a little bit more brilliant, but they were much better than anything I've seen in a long time because I live in a city. So why did I only give the lodge three stars? The location is rather remote. It's approximately 20 to 25 minutes from the main road so if you want to eat anywhere else or go anywhere else or do anything else you do have to drive a bit. This is what I wanted, and I was thrilled to have this remoteness. Accordingly, you're kind of hamstrung into using their dining facilities. Granted, it appears that they are doing some pretty significant renovations. The building that is on the map that is marked as a restaurant is closed. It appears they put together a makeshift restaurant in the main lodge. And makeshift it certainly is. The prices were very high, and the quality was not good. In addition, the menu was not at all varied. You had a choice between a soup that was fair, Caesar salad, pasta Alfredo, a Philly sandwich, and salmon. Kind of an odd list of choices frankly. I ordered the soup -- it was warm, it wasn't horrible but it certainly wasn't worth $11. I also ordered the Caesar salad which was $12 which was lettuce, a parsimonious amount of shaved cheese, croutons that I believe are store-bought, and it was dressed. The dressing was so garlicky thank goodness I was traveling alone. Finally, and the primary reason I was not able to give the lodge more than three stars, is that the lodge charges you $20 a night to park your car. You have to understand this is the middle of nowhere. It's not like there are thousands of people trying to park out here and it was not mentioned anywhere on their website. I'll probably call Marriott Bonvoy in the morning and ask them to take it off my bill. But they charge enough for the room and the food that they do not need to charge for parking. read more

The location /setting is fantastic. The views are great. The remodeled rooms are not good. The previous western/rustic decor fit the atmosphere. The new contemporary decor does not make sense. There are many small details that make you wonder what they were thinking. Why am espresso machine instead of a coffee maker? Nice size kitchenette but no dishes or microwave - unless you request it. Wife and I spent two nights here. It was probably great 20 years ago but unfortunately the management decided to reconstruct the main lodge/restaurant and we didn't know that until we checked in. The makeshift restaurant was very limited and had offering of beer only and no wine or cocktails. We would have like to known all this prior to booking. The fact that they chose to not disclose this was deceitful in my opinion and I resent it. The rooms were fine and the property was good but we got half the facility for 100% of the price. The views are breathtaking. The stay was rough food is scarce the dinning hall and all the publicized amenities are all closed due to construction that they don't mention when you book. They charge full price for a resort that is not really available. The temporary dinning hall is full of flys and has no air circulating. Food is cafeteria style at gourmet prices. All you can eat bbq ran out of food we ended up paying $52.00 for 2 rawturkey burgers. Bar was no where to be found. I really wanted to like this place as mentioned the views are amazing but the price you pay is a rip off. read more

We recently stayed at this location, beautiful place and friendly staff. The issue we had was that everything was being renovated ( including river view rooms) when we booked it we didn't expect that. I understand that renovations were going on, but for the money we spent there should have been a discount or something. If we would have known the extent of everything being renovated we would have stayed closer to town. I did try and reach out to the lodge about this issue and did not receive any response, which is unfortunate because the place has potential to be awesome if everything was open. read more

We've been coming here about twice a year for a few years now and it is such a lovely, peaceful experience. Right on the Colorado River in the midst of the red rocks, the location is unparalleled. The lodges are well appointed and rustic -- nothing fancy, but really more than enough. Each lodge has a mini-kitchen and wet bar (no stove). There is an adequate fitness center, pool, hot tub, and laundromat on site. The food is just okay, but we often get food from town. The staff are wonderful and it's very quiet and dark at night -- you definitely feel as if you are getting away from it all out here! I highly recommend the Red Cliffs Lodge to anyone going to Moab. It's a great hotel/lodge right in the middle of one of the country's most beautiful landscapes. read more

The view was amazing and the rooms were very nice and clean. The property was under construction, which was a disappointment because we weren't aware of that when we booked. There was nowhere to get a glass of wine so we had to drive up the road 3 miles to have dinner and get a cocktail. The pool and the hot tub were clean and fun. There was a $40 charge for parking which we thought was crazy because there's hardly anyone parked there and you just park in front of your unit so why would you get charged for parking at your own cabin? Really if there just had been better bar and restaurant accommodations it would've been a higher rating. We saw the geese and their babies swimming, and it was so adorable! read more

Great place to stay if you want peace and quiet-tranquility! Off the beaten path of Moab Utah. Private cabins to stay in and horses on the ranch, what more do I need? The answer is nothing, I need nothing else to be happy! Our cabin had a porch overlooking the rushing Colorado River and the massive red cliffs of Moab. The scenery alone was worth the trip. If you want to jaunt out to Moab for some restaurants and other activities, you can, it is only 14 miles away. Also Arches National Park and the Dead Horse Point State Park are only about 15 miles away. But you never have to leave the ranch if you do not want to because there is a wonderful restaurant and bar right in the lodge lobby. Now the restaurant is reservation only but we thoroughly enjoyed the live guitar music in the bar and the bar food was amazing! My red trout on spicy slaw was phenomenal!!! I want that spicy slaw recipe so bad!!! My husband had the pork chops with an apple dressing and he said it was juicy and delicious. I brought some organic apples and carrots for the horses and they came right up to the fence to eat them, and let me pet them. You can reserve a morning trail ride if you want to. They also have guided Jeep tours. The scenery was just absolutely spectacular. The cabin we were in had a kitchenette with everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal. The fireplace was wonderful to watch at night. Our cabin came with a telescope to star gaze too. Really wonderful well maintained resort and beautiful cabins. Oh I almost forgot to add, the bed was super comfortable too! read more

One of the best parts of being a travel guide is not only reading about amazing places but getting to experience it yourself. This summer I had the privilege to guide a few tours in Utah and Red Cliffs Lodge still lingers in my mind as one of my favorite places to have stayed. First Impressions Coming to this hotel isn't a simple drive down the road. Instead, it takes you about 20 minutes away from the main roads and you hug the mountains as you drive parallel to the Colorado River. There is no reception here but the drive is worthy of any Instagram story or TikTok video. The lazy brown river churns downwards as you go upstream and you see all kinds of things from kayakers to rafters as you drive one of the best roads if you enjoy an exciting drive. If you don't, you'll want to take some motion sickness meds before the drive. As you approach the entrance of Red Cliffs Lodge you see horses running all around at the horse ranch right next to the hotel and on the right of the entrance a newly installed Ford Bronco Challenge Trail giving anyone with a Bronco a chance to test the limits of their vehicle. Driving through the entrance and you feel like you're inside a real life Western. Beautiful green lawns are on the right, the Colorado River snakes behind the property on the right, and large mountains create natural walls around the property. The use of wood and rocks are the themes for everything it's no wonder this property has been used (and will continue to be used) for movies all throughout the past century. It is a gorgeous set piece in a land filled with so much beauty. Service The staff here are so kind and easy to work with. They know the business they're in and they try their best to help. From the front desk staff to the kitchen staff all know their roles and share a hospitality which makes you feel welcomed. Food Though you wouldn't think food is that important it is when you are so far away from any other food options. You would think this means they could get away with low quality food because you have to eat there but you would be so wrong. They have an outdoor cook out area next to the tennis courts looking out to the Colorado River. This place does all you can eat lunch for burgers and hot dogs with chips and sides and it is one of the best burgers I've eaten all year. The flame broiled patties were delicious and I found out they use a beef and sirloin steak mix. This makes for a flavorful and tasty mix. Their breakfast is fulfilling and gives you a great start to the morning. Dinner is reservation based also so make sure you make one when you check in. The food overall is much better than you would expect, as long as you realize the food you would expect from a cowboy/dude ranch is exactly what you'll get. Rooms The rooms are huge. Multi leveled with the bottom half having a full couch, dining area, mini fridge, coffee bar, and sink. The air conditioning is also there as well which means that it might take some time to cool down the room completely since it's so far away from the bed. The bed itself is on the higher area with most beds being queen to king size. There is a full vanity section to the left of it with a huge mirror, a coat rack (which is so handy), and a TV right across the bed in the corner banister area. Depending on which side of the resort you are on you'll have a porch facing the open area for horses or the Colorado River. When the weather cools down it is a perfect place to have a beer and watch the sunset. The bathroom is right at the entrance. A large him-and-her sink with mirror is there with a hair dryer and large closets behind this space. Separately there is a bathroom with the toilet and shower/bathtub. The one gripe I do have is they have very soft water here so if you're trying to get a nice lather off of you when showering it'll probably linger on your body afterwards. X Factor We all know how light pollution can ruin a lot of great views of the sky, but since there is so little around this area when there is a full moon out you can see some of the most gorgeous star filled skies in the west. They also go all out for events and holidays such as July 4th where they have special cook outs and pool parties. Also, being so close to Arches National Park makes Red Cliffs Lodge a unique place to stay that is both near and yet far enough from adventure. Conclusion Red Cliffs Lodge was always a highlight for me on our trips. It is both brimming with adventure whilst also giving you a slow paced stay when needed. If you plan on going out and exploring this area of Utah and want a place unique and special I highly recommend staying at Red Cliffs Lodge. read more

This is a wonderful little getaway. It does to take 20 minutes from Moab to get there. It is a peaceful serene ranch with lots of lodging options. If you're trying to go at a slower pace I would definitely recommend staying here. The room we stayed in had a nice patio overlooking a pasture. The patio furniture was clean and nice. Amazing hospitality from the moment we arrived! The drive onto the property (we arrived after sunset) began our journey of relaxation; the winding driveway and fairy lights set the mood! The receptionist was warm and informative; our room (209) was cozy, super clean and let me mention the comfortable bed! They do not skimp on mattresses or pillows! We have travelled the world and with the luxury of 5star accommodations; this bed surpasses some of the best! Our slider opening up onto a private patio and the most spectacular view of the Colorado River and surrounding Red Cliffs was beauty and majesty beyond words! The views are positively stunning. We pulled in and saw beautiful horses running around. We are next to the river and can hear a soothing babbling. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The front desk and breakfast team was very welcoming and helpful. Staff is absolutely 5 star. The scenery from the pool is stunning, perfect place for a quiet afternoon reading a book. Mattresses are very old and need replacing for comfort. read more

Awesome place.  I spent 2 nights here.  I wish I could have stayed longer.  My cabin came with 2 bedrooms and bathroom in the middle. Bedrooms are comfortable.  The bathroom is a good size. Drinking water is available via the smaller faucet.  It is treated via reverse osmosis and tasted ok.  It has a spacious living room with a kitchenette.  The kitchenette has plates, cups, and utensils.  Can save money and bring your own food.  Their is a little patio.  My patio was overlooking the Colorado River.  Plenty of space around you as the cabins are not attached.  They are decently spaced out.  Rooms closer to the main building looked attached but not sure. Parking is out front of each door or cabin.  Depending on where your cabin is, it may be a walk to the front desk and restaurant.  My cabin was a ten minute walk pass the horses closer to the main road.  In the morning, this was a very nice walk.  Even though close to the road, did not hear much road traffic. The pool is outdoors.  The gym is  adequate.  Located in the same building is a laundry for guest use.  Their is a museum and winery on property.  I really liked this place.  It is situated on the Colorado River about a twenty minute drive from Moab.  I found it very quiet and rustic.  I would definitely stay here again. read more

If I could give this place a 10 star review rating, I totally would. This place is AMAZING. Located about 20 minutes outside of Moab, this lodge is like a jewel in the desert. Nestled in between soaring red cliffs and canyons and just steps away from the mighty Colorado River, the views all around this place are simply breathtaking. The lodges themselves are clean, quiet, and charming and give you the feel that you are in a secluded ranch. The lodge back patio also faces the creek giving you extra solitude with nature. The drive here is incredibly scenic as well, so leaving and returning to the lodges are a treat for the eyes in themselves. read more

This place is amazing! Great views, good food and great people. What more can you ask for? I came here with my wife and we both wanted to see Moab. We are outdoor people and adventurers and we both fell in love with this place. It is set in a perfect spot in the mountains and by the river. The rooms are nice large. I appreciated the hospitality that this hotel gives you. I believe that is overlooked in many hotels. I even met the owner and I can tell you that he was a very kind person. He was very accommodating and really focused on providing you the best quality stay that you could have. That type of thinking was contagious and every person that I interacted with did the same thing. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the dinners. They had top quality food and hospitality and views. The view that we saw every time we woke up and ate was incredible. I really recommend coming here and staying as long as you can. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was 2 things, the workout facility is tired and needs updating and I wish they had a few more adventures to do from the hotel instead of going into town. I think if they did both of those things that it would instantly create more value for the location and the guests. All in all, I would come back here and have not stopped telling people about it. read more

Four of my friends and I rented one of the cabins at the Red Cliff Lodge for two nights. We had such a wonderful experience we didn't want to leave when it was time to go. The view and sounds of the Colorado River from our patio were incredible. The cabin was comfortable for the five of us. We ate all of our breakfasts and dinners at the restaurant and we found the food to be fantastic. All of our steaks were perfectly cooked and very good pieces of beef. I had salmon one night and it was also perfectly prepared. The views from the restaurant windows and patio were spectacular, especially in the evening when the sun was setting. All of the staff we interacted with were warm, welcoming, and very helpful. The grounds at Red Cliff are well maintained, attractive, and immaculate. We visited Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse State Park, and went shopping in downtown Moab during our stay. If we had stayed longer we would have also visited Monument Valley as it is fairly close. We loved the Red Cliffs Lodge so much we are already planning our next visit! read more
