Listen, the service was fast and the music was bumping. What more could you ask for from a theme park club? This place would normally get a 4 out of 10 for me, because the music and ambiance can be a bit hit or miss, but let me tell you - Re(d)tro Night? Lit. We went hard! DJ Michael? You deserve a raise. He read that crowd down! The focus is on 80's and 90's music, and I felt like he saw that we were really going hard for the 90's hip hop and RB and let it us have it. At some point he gave us some early 2000's rap and we lost it. The last song he played was an early 90s classic and he even got on the dance floor with us. I kept saying, okay once he starts playing music I don't jive with as much, I'll leave and call it an early night. But that never happened! We love this place for their seasonal theming with Universal. They do a great job in transforming the place each time - HHN, Mardi Gras, and Christmas. The staff is attentive, the drinks are themed as well, and they usually have live music to tie in with the theming too. Btw, if you love a good photo op, this is a great place to stop by to pick your spot for those duck lip photos you know you wanna show off on IG or FB later. There are 3 bars, so be sure to check out each one - they typically have a different specialty selection at each. There is an outside balcony area upstairs off the bar. Bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. Only downside is that they sometimes book private events here, so you might not see it open on your visit. read more

Always a beautifully themed experience whenever you go here! They transition amazingly from Halloween Horror Nights into the Holiday season very well - you wouldnt even think it were the same place! It's family friendly until about 10pm on the weekends - that's when the adult atmosphere and the DJ take over! This most recent trip was impromptu (after watching Wicked: For Good) and we were greeted by Acapella singers on stage. It was absolutely amazing! Place is so neatly done. Decor is new and fresh. Good high end Halloween themed decor everywhere. DJ was blasting all the right kind of music and kept everyone dancing. Sometimes the music was cut a bit short and it could have been played a little bit longer to enjoy it. But the music flowed pretty well Drinks were okay. Some could be less sweet. Had the Lambda Lament and couldn't replace the rum with vodka which was odd since it wasn't premixed already. Tried to make it more bearable but it wasn't a good drink. At least I got a souvenir cup. We had a great time with the theming for holidays at the red and green coconut club. They theme for Halloween horror nights as well. Themed drinks and photo ops everywhere and had a rockin DJ to dance the early 2000s beats. Service by bartender was prompt. Visit Red Coconut during Christmas time and love their Christmas theme. As you walk in your can feel the christmas spirit full of lights, music and beautiful decor to take pictures. They have two bars on the first floor and one of them has a musical band with 3D musical globes. There is also another bar on the sscond floor. Staff is so friendly. I heard from a friend that the dead Coconut club turns into the red and green club for Christmas and I just had to stop and take a peek before I grab dinner with friends this evening. They have two bars on the first floor they have one right off to the left-hand side and one in the middle with these giant 3-D snow globes. The whole place is decked from head to toe in Christmas lights, Christmas garland, wallpaper and presents. It literally feels like you stepped into an old-school winter wonderland. Tonight I had the bartender Corey- The drink I got was the fireplace it is a whiskey based drink. The ambience from the christmas music to the drinks is exactly what I needed this evening for a little bit of holiday cheer. We really love the holiday overlays that they do here. For example, the Halloween overlay is amazing. The overlay is amazing and then now the Christmas overlay is probably the best they've ever done. I love all the decorations throughout the bar and they have a DJ On the Dance Floor that's playing Christmas music and upstairs you have a scavenger hunt to look for all the golden acorns. It's a really well thought out bar and super fun for everyone. I just wish they didn't allow children into the bar and it was for adults only because there's a lot of children causing a ruckus. The drink prices here are little high, but they are really good and delicious crafted cocktails for the holidays read more

I visit the Red Coconut Club during the Halloween and Christmas seasons. Very enjoyable during those times. I enjoy the festive photo ops. Also, it's never super crowded and it's always pretty chill. Some people dancing, some sitting, and some standing around chatting. Best part is that you can take kids along for photo ops when it's decorated. I don't believe they can enter during other times. This is a must during the holidays. You might visit a few times in order to get photos in your different daily outfits. read more

Went for the Halloween themed décor and seasonal drinks at the Red Coconut Club! Universal outdid themseleves with the incredible deocrations and atmosphere they created for spooky season. The Red Coconut club has 2 floors, the downstairs with the dance floor, dj booth and 2 bars, the upstairs has another bar and had an old projector playing old scary movies. I thought this was an incredible touch! Unfortunately, the drinks were pretty terrible, which is why this only got 3 stars. We also got several drinks from several different bars and bartenders within the club all which were all consistently terrible. Too sweet, too strong and just very unenjoyable to drink. Especially considering the price, the seasonal drinks were not worth it. Stick with beer, wine or easy to make cocktails for these bartenders. read more

There was table service, but it was faster to just order from the bar since it wasn't too busy. This club is amazing! I love the Old Vegas theming combined with the Cursed Coconut theme. It currently has a cursed Bayou graveyard overlay while Universal's Mardi Gras Carnival is going on. A K-pop night was advertised, and at getting there around 9:30 some old exclusively BTS songs were playing, with 2000s pop interspersed every other song which was okay but felt off. There was an oddly xenophobic slide show on the ceiling, the DJ turned down or didn't have any requested songs - and then the moment someone requested a different genre he completely abandoned the concept entirely, after playing it for less than two hours. When people were understandably confused he not only ignored their requests, but turned up the music to drown them out. The entire experience felt incredibly xenophobic, uninviting, and hostile. Why employée à DJ who seems to have a distain for anything beyond early 2000s exclusively white musician white people go crazy music. Poor service, poor experience. read more

On Halloween Horror nights, the Red Coconut is transformed into the Dead Coconut Club. They really want all out with the decorations and classic monster appeal. The drinks were just ok (only three cocktails on the menu and one mocktail plus beer, wine, and cider). Drinks were around $18 for the drink and souvenir (plastic) cup with refills around $14.50. There is no food here, so be prepared to eat before or after. The entertainment was top notch though and we enjoyed sipping a Halloween-themed tiki drink while listening to the fabulous singers. This place opens at 5 PM and closes at 2 AM, so make sure to stop by if you're visiting for Halloween Horror Nights! read more

3 Stars for a fabulous live band, typical dance club drinks, and a kitchie cabana vibe. I had attended an event nearby and stopped at Red Coconut Club afterwards. It's filled with a lot of tourists, and it's a wee bit too well lit for comfortable dancing (sober dancing, at least), and the floor is somewhat uneven to help keep the theme going. So far, an ok club. But then there's the band. They play current hits and really bring the energy. Rather than feel cheesy, which would be very easy, this band has everyone raising their eyebrows and nodding at one another. In terms of drinks, they're pretty typical. Not craft cocktails, but dependable. A quick plus is that there's plenty of seating around the dance floor, which is helpful for groups. I don't find myself in the area much, and likely won't be heading back, but for folks who want to dance while at City Walk, you could do a lot worse! (Seriously...) read more

This nightclub is located at Universal City Walk. There is a cover charge to get in, I do not know what it costs because I have an annual pass to Universal so we got in for free. There is also a parking charge to actually park at Universal. The club itself was pretty nice. It had a tropical South Beach feel. When we got there, there was actually a live band playing music. They sang for about 10 minutes before they were done. I'm sure they were singing longer. After they were done, the DJ started playing music. The DJ looked more like a older guy letting the computer do all the work. It was very loud inside but it was good music. We were there around 10 and our little group was literally the only ones dancing. Everyone else was just sitting around. My biggest complaint was the drinks. Now I know that I was at City Walk and I expected to pay a little more for drinks. MY husband and I each ordered a drink from the menu and it was 32 dollars plus a tip. Now come on that is CRAZY! And to top it off, my drink was not even full, there was still a good amount of space left in the glass. I ordered the "signature" red coconut drink. It was horrible! I could not even finish it, I made my husband since it was $16! It tasted like burnt coconut, it was really bad. It was so loud, I don't think the server would have heard me trying to call her back to exchange it. All in all, I don't know if I would run back here. They played some good music but I would personally stick with a beer then order another drink from here. read more

This is my favorite club at Citywalk. (When I'm in the mood for dancing to a LIVE BAND!) Red Coconut is up the stairs from all the other places that are part of the Incredible deal CITYWALK clubpass that gets you in all six; Red Coconut, Bob Marley's, (live band playing reggae and reggaeton) Pat O'Brien's, (exact replica of one in N'awlins), Catch a Rising Star(sing karaoke with a live band and backup singers!!) , The Groove (famous DJ' s and a REVOLVING DANCE FLOOR) and Latin Quarter (salsa etc to get a different groove on). Plus you can find said wristband online for half price, but they mail it to you, so plan ahead. And, if you are a FL resident parking is free after 6! Citywalk has also added a lot more restaurants and stand alone bars, so if you haven't been in awhile, go!! We love it! And p.s. if you get a Hurricane at Pat O'Brien's I strongly recommend you don't get a second! read more

This place being dead on a Friday night had one positive: The upstairs was like our own private VIP section. The DJ was playing a lot of R&B and Hip Hop, which I didn't expect from a club named Red Coconut. I like that the upstairs is a little quieter, so you can actually have a conversation. The outdoor balcony is a nice touch too. We also appreciate that there is a printed drink list. Not all of the City Walk clubs have one. I can't trust an unlisted price. If you're not familiar with the City Walk clubs, get the Party Pass. It's the best way to figure out where you want to hang out for the evening. read more

Fun, fun night spot. Red clubby decor, seats shaped like djembe drums, decent sound system, and bartenders at the two separate bar areas that really know how to pour and mix drinks. DJ was trying but not making the cut. He was one of those guys that spins from mp3's and thinks that blisteringly louder is better. Good thing we were really in the mood to dance. Not sure why this place Doesn't have at least a 4 star. My experience was good and i left with over 25 percent tip. I had a great server at the bar during happy hour. My friend and I got around 5 drinks for just around 31 dollars!!! Yup 31. You get to pick out of around 5-6 drink specials. We got the coconut mojito and the peach tea. I believe they taste the best but are considered the "weakest" drinks. The tropical drink with the pineapple and cranberry is really good and it's Almost all liquor. Citywalk is not my idea of a fun night out but I came here for a friend's going away party. There is a $7 cover charge or you can pay $12 for a party pass to visit all the clubs on the strip which I recommend. You can pay with a card for your cover which is convenient. It was pretty dead for a Friday night but there was a live band and a decent DJ in between sets. The crowd wasn't too rowdy and the dance floor was big. Drinks were expensive but that's what you get at a theme park. read more
