I'm not sure if it was because of Mother's Day weekend or if it's always this busy, but the place was packed with people celebrating and the music was blasting. If you have a headache or want to have a conversation without yelling across the table, this may not be the place for you lol. I forgot to take pictures because by the time the food finally came out, I was starving and dug right in. The food itself was good. I ordered the combination combo with head-off shrimp, lobster tail, and snow crab legs. It also came with one piece of corn and a few potatoes for around $40. The restaurant is BYOB, which is a plus. The downside was the service. Our waitress was kind of missing in action throughout the meal, and it was hard to get attention when we needed something. This was an unexpected Sunday evening experience. Depending on your vibe, I'm pretty sure this atmosphere isn't for everyone. As for myself, I highly enjoyed my time at Red Crab Juicy Seafood. My friend suggested that we eat here. When walking up to the door, it states a 2-hour table limit. I wondered why and found out pretty quickly. The restaurant looked clean, and we were seated right away. You can see the DJ with the speakers playing the best selections of past and present hip-hop music! Aye! The restaurant staff appeared to be nice enough to allow guests to get up and dance around their table and have a great time! There are also TVs to watch the game if it's on. It's BYOB! Yikes, we didn't know to bring a bottle, but that was fine. They supply the apron, wipes, and gloves. I had to ask for a crab cracker. For the appetizer, we ordered a shrimp cocktail that was okay. My entree was the seafood boil: Cajun mild snow crab legs that came with corn and potatoes. I added sausages. It was decent and flavorful. Next time, I would try the garlic butter flavor. I'd definitely say one of the better seafood options in the local vicinity of Newark. The food always comes out as fresh, and the sauce options are good as well. The weekend special is moderately priced and the family favorite. A full lobster tail, with headless shrimp and about 1.5 clusters of snow crab, is enough to fill my brats and me. Excellent vibe, great mix of music, and tasty seafood for sure, price is fair for the quality of food, don't expect big juicy crab legs, settle for small to medium at best. Our waiter blew his tip (the service charge) because we were celebrating a birthday and he brought our cake to another celebrating table (that table didn't even bring a cake), whether he was confused or it was an evil set-up, when someone says "I got you' most times they don't. He even argued with the birthday girl over this issue, for shame, I shooed him away. Although our table didn't get cake, nor was able to sing and dance with a DJ played hit song, like the other table, the manager comp'ed the birthday girl's meal, but left the service charge on the bill. Tip: cash is King! I could have accepted my food being wrong, cold, or tasteless and would have gladly still paid the "service charge' but he failed at the most important part of the service, 'bringing the cake to the right table. I tried Red Crab Juicy for the first time on a Saturday about 630pm. I did not know what to expect as I was craving seafood. I was greeted and seated right away. The server was friendly and attentive. The music is great just a bit too loud for me. Hard to have a conversation with your dinner guest and the waitress because it is hard to hear. I didn't realize there was no alcohol. It is BYOB. Next time I know better. The service is quick. The seafood is tasty and very fresh. I would just say the hottest spice needs a bit more heat and seasoning. I had the special Saturday bag and oysters as well as cajun wings. The horseradish was not that great though. Finally found a spot that sells king crab legs and it did not disappoint!!! I selected 1lb of king crab legs, 1/2lb snow crab legs, and 1/2lb headless shrimps with the juicy special sauce medium heat. The crabs were hands down meaty and fresh!! It made that loud crack sound which tells me these were not sitting in liquid for a long time or overcooked. The sauce was on point as well.
