One of our favorites relatively close to the house. Always has a great variety of specials as well as menu items. Service has never failed to be friendly and prompt. The quality of the food exceeds many higher priced versions. We only order specials or from the menu. We are not fans of the buffets. The breakfast food is not hot and dries out too quickly and the seafood buffet is too spicy, not hot and was dried out. We are on Friday night. They offered a seafood buffet. It consisted of fried shrimp, catfish, frog legs, spicy chicken nuggets, okra, boiled shrimp and French fries. The sides were salad bar, beans, coleslaw, gumbo, rice, potato salad and hush puppies. Desserts are apple and peach cobbler. The best items were the catfish, boiled shrimp and frog legs. It was 14.99 a plate which is reasonable with ayce. This was our first time to eat here. We will try other items next time. We made a last minute decision to stop and eat here and am I glad we did. The food was delicious and really reasonably priced. I had the beef sandwich and my wife had the French dip. We both raved about how tender the meat was. The smoked flavor came through in every bite. Then we finished with chocolate cream pie and chocolate pecan pie. We will definitely be back to try more. Not only was it nice and moist but the smoke flavor was so good it didn't need sauce. The fry's were fresh cut and the coconut cream pie at the end was delicious. The service at this restaurant was great. All the workers we had dealings with were polite. The restaurant was clean. My husband enjoyed everything he ate from the buffet, which included a large variety of what was available. He especially enjoyed the ribs. My beef brisket sandwich and fries were delicious. I will get the buffet next time because there were just too many different things I want to eat, like the chicken and dumplings, ham (which was really good), fried chicken, and pinto beans. First of all let say that my family and I have been long time customers. We have always had great experiences there, until lately. The last few times we have been there for take out our order has been wrong. We always let them know that the order was wrong when we place our next order. We have continued to go back because of the food quality and the service. Unfortunately the last few times the food quality has been very poor and on our latest trip we experienced extremely poor customer service by a woman named Lee. She was extremely rude and did not seem to care that we were having a bad experience. My husband and my brother went I had hamburger steak it was great potatoes were great also. Had a salad as a side it was smaller then most kids size .My husband and brother both had chicken fried steak it was great also thee potatoes were also good . I wouldn't normally be a fan of somewhere like this, but since moving to Mineola, my eat-out options are few and far between. We first tried this place out on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy, but we were seated right away. My kids and I ate from the buffet and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich from the menu. Everything was wonderful! We went back again a couple months later and everyone ate off the seafood buffet. We are used to good seafood from South Mississippi and have yet to find anything near what we are used to here. However, everything they had on the seafood menu was excellent. They have always been quick about getting us seated, the wait staff is very kind and attentive, and the price range is very reasonable. We were in town looking at property and after we were done we stopped here to eat. Our waiter was great. He was the only one but he was kicking butt. He forgot to put in our appetizer and when we told him he apologized saying he forgot and offered to order them on the house. I respect people who just own up to their mistakes instead of excuses which he could have used seeing as he was the only person taking care of 8+ tables plus seating and checking people out. The food was great. But my favorite was the warm apple cobbler with ice cream which our waiter recommended. It was amazing!! Just a lovely down to earth place! Stopped to have a late lunch/early dinner after voting today with my wife. We started with Fried Pickles. Tasty, nothing special but still good. I had the Fajita Chicken Salad with Cilantro Ranch dressing. It was a little heavy on the Cabbage for my taste. Chicken was very good and the homemade Cilantro dressing was excellent. My wife got the Stuffed Potato with Chopped Beef. She was raving about how good it was so I tried a bite and then another bite. When I went back for the 3rd bite, she stopped me!! It was delicious! The BBQ Sauce served on the side was the best I have ever tasted. Talking with the Manager, he said the use both Lemon and Orange in the sauce. I will definitely be coming back to try their BBQ Ribs and BBQ Chicken. read more

I moved to Quitman last month and eat dinner at Red Dome 90% of the time. Their prices are reasonable, service is outstanding (Becca' is great) and never had a single issue with the food - quality or quantity. You have to come in to check for the daily specials as they don't maintain a web site or Facebook page to keep you advised as to the special (they really should do this). What would I recommend? Catfish ... meat loaf ... 1/2 chicken ... turkey & dressing ... The singular minor issue that I could voice is that of the salads (chef salad, etc ...) they are served on a small plate and are a real pain in the you-know-what without making a mess. read more

Food is really good especially for the price. I've had their bbq, sandwiches, breakfast, salads, and just tried their Mexican food tonight. I've never had a problem with the food. Stopped in for a nice lunch while traveling for work because of all the cars in the lot. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket and sausage. I saw people who arrived after me receiving their meals and wondered what was going on, when the waitress apologized for not submitting my order. I told her not to worry because she was busy and things happen. When i received my order I was extremely disappointed. There were three raggedy and small slices of brisket and ten slices of sausage. They definitely were loading me up on the cheap meat and barely giving any of the brisket. It turned out to be a blessing because the brisket was over cooked and dry as sawdust. I could only chew and swallow it after drenching in BBQ sauce, which wasn't very good either. I asked for onions and Jalapeños, which they charge extra for, and received them when I only had two bites left. I at because I was hungry and had not eaten since dinner the night before , or I would have returned it. I compete in BBQ competitions and have catered large gatherings, so I know what good brisket is supposed to look and taste like. We are local and we have been to red dome quite a few times and today we went and we got there got our drinks and placed our order then we waited two gentlemen came in placed their order 10 minutes after us and was served within 10 minutes ok then another couple came in and sat down placed their order 25 minutes after we placed ours and we waited no food no waitress filling us in . then about 15 minutes they served the other couple that came in 25 minutes after us and apologised for it taking so long we have been waiting on or food for over 45 minutes we got nothing so we got up went to pay for the soda and the waitres was there we said we are leaving and she said whatever and made us out a ticket for the soda and said wait here for the cashier the cashier came we told her what was going on and she said no charge for the soda but no apology for the way we were treated. to say the least will go someplace else in the future. the waitress should be reprimanded for being so snotty towards us. read more

Wonderful catfish, fries and hush puppies. I usually don't like hush puppies because of the flavor and dryness but these are neither of those. They were all superb. Have been a few times and really like the food- the catfish is fried to perfection and the all you can eat special on Friday n Saturday is well worth it but you may may have to wait to get more catfish so put your order in early - the breakfasts aren't as good as country kitchens but a better value- the only difference is the homemade biscuits and hash towns - I go here occasionally as the staff are entertaining to say the least read more

So many options on the menu it's obvious everything comes from a frozen sysco box. There is no way to offer so much and prepare it fresh. I have been to the Paredes restaurant in Mineola, which is owned by the same people, but the difference between the two is like daylight and dark. The Quitman restaurant does have a buffet, (If that is what you would call it). The food was terrible all the way around. The BBQ beef was tough, the fried chicken was dry and old, the Cabbage was made yesterday, none of the dishes on the buffet were stirred as they should have been, and everything was really salty. If there were a rating lower than a one star, this restaurant would deserve it. Jim read more
