I was doing a little work in the area and Yelped for some place to eat. I decided to try it out since it was next to my hotel. I ordered the soup and bruschetta. As with most American restaurants they tried to overcome the lack of cooking ability with huge portions in hopes that no one will notice. As a consultant by trade I always offer a few tips that can help business do better: Restaurants in the States typically advise there wait staff to ask diners things like "hows your meal" etc. A closed end question. This typically gets an answer of fine, good, OK etc. If a restaurant really wants a true response, they should ask an open ended question, something like "What could we have done to make your meal better" The beer selection could be enhanced with a good selection of micro brews/IPA's read more

I had the Beer Battered Walleye with a salad and my wife had Walt's Shrimp and both meals arrived hot and were excellent. My complements to the Chef. After waiting 5 minutes for my server just to take my drink order... she did not share the regular " you out for anything special" nor did she share that it was happy hour or share the specials... once I placed my order I had just received my soup salad and biscuits and not 2 min later got my entree. I happened to eat here twice in a row this weekend...and while the food was good both times, the service really made the difference. Saturday night Lisa was phenomenal. Attentive but not overbearing. We didn't have to follow up or correct a single thing. Sunday night, the waitress was not as good. She gave a schpiel with everything, and could use some work on her timing. It's hard to find seafood in Bismarck... But Red Lobster does a good job showcasing their fresh fish to us land-lovers. I'll be honest, I've never actually ordered lobster here. The thing is, you don't have to go big to get good seafood. The wood grilled fish is exceptional. The scallops have always been cooked just right. Plus the clam chowder and garlic cheese biscuits are great sides. I usually go over lunch, because the lunch menu is much more reasonable. The waitstaff is very nice and always on top of things. I had seen they had the all you can eat Shrimp. Since i live 120 miles away the day before i called to see if they still had it. The person whom answered said yes, i then ask if it would be still goung the ne t day, Dec 11th, i was told yes. I then ask is the offer available both for lunch and supper, i was told yes. So we drive to Bismarck arrived about 3pm adyer other shopping, when we checked in i asked the hostess if we could see a menu while we wait. I then glanced and said what about the all you can eat shrimp. She said well we only do that now on Mondays. I told her i called yesterday and was told it would be still available, she told me just a minute. She left and brought back the manager, i explained everything and she proceeded to tell me that ended over a week ago. I said i drove over 2hours and she said well im sorry, but it has ended. I told her we drove here esp for that well she said im sorry but its over. I said well i guess we wont be eating here. She did absolutely nothing to try and make it better. Three strikes you're OUT! Last nights meal started off with a wilted lettuce Caesar salad, followed by watery, mushy, flavorless lobster tails - (poorly cooked cheap frozen) & mixed vegetables. The Brussel sprouts were so BITTER they were not eatable & the sweet potato chunks varied from mushy to hard. The nights highlight was our server who comped us with broccoli, which looked good, but had some weird chemical flavor??? A year ago for our anniversary December 2018, we were looking forward to a delicious whole lobster meal, only to be told this Red Lobster did NOT have any Lobster! We tried again during the summer of 2019, but the smallest lobster available was FOUR pounds! Again, we had to settle for lesser meals, NOT up to Red Lobster standards. The tragic part is, prior to December 2018, this had consistently been one of the BEST Red Lobsters we had visited and we KNOW sea food, my wife is from MAINE! Bottom line Folks: unless you enjoy paying fine dining prices for low end Truck stop food - AVOID...... FYI - yes, we have sent a formal complaint to Red Lobster HQ. read more

Saw my waitress three times, when our order was taken, when she dropped off 2 biscuits for 2 people, and when, after drinks and meal were long gone (after half an hour), she thought she'd come back and ask if we wanted dessert. We were in the bar...maybe another drink at some point during the interaction prior to me wanted to stab my eyeballs out? Maybe a refill on our 2 biscuit bowl? Maybe a stop to see how the overpriced food was? Have felt more welcome at a McDonald's... Red Lobster is a good establishment with usually great service, and maybe this was just one bad experience, since I have never visited this Red Lobster in particular. This restaurant is terrible; from the stench of the dirty lobster tank as you walk in, to the rotting seafood smell coming from the kitchen, to the mildew/mold in the bathrooms. I ordered the most expensive lobster hoping that it would be edible, but came out heat lamp burnt, rubbery, and luke warm. I almost gagged with my first bite and I alerted the server. I waited for a manager to visit the table, but after the about 15 minutes, the server dropped the check! At this point, I and my nose were so offended that I just wanted to leave. I ended up paying for the rubber lobster dish and chalked it up to a learning experience. read more

This Red Lobster is wonderful! Great food and service. Servers are always accommodating and friendly. I asked our server if she could get us some really buttery cheddar bay biscuits and she was back a minute later with some delicious ones she had put extra butter on. They do get busy some days but they have people ready to bus tables as soon as they are empty to make the wait time as short as possible. My aunt in Denver won't eat at the Red Lobster in Colorado but she always wants to eat at the one here because of the wonderful food and experiences we continue to have. Our family decided to go out to celebrate a birthday here, and while the food was good, the service was horrendous. It started out when our party of eight was seated in between two servers stations, and they proceeded to argue in front of us as to which one of them was serving us (neither of them wanted to). When we finally were waited on, it was by a third server who seemed to get everything wrong, from our drinks to special instructions on food items to who gets what, even with writing everything down. I would recommend that management do some serious service retracing and perhaps the service might match the food.. Until then, I assure you we will not be back. read more

My husband and I eat @ the Bismarck Red Lobster every other week or so. We both agree that this is one of our favorite restaurant's in all of Bismarck Mandan. The complimentary cheddar bay biscuits are always hot, fresh and scrumptious while we wait for our order. The scampi is divine, the cherry maple glaze on the grilled chicken is a special dipping sauce.. be sure to ask for it, ..the salads are always cold crisp and fresh and the food is always hot and heavenly. Mouthwatering seafood, calorie_laden but buttery garlicky goodness in every bite. Servers are professional, clean establishment, relaxing atmosphere. I recommend it highly. read more

The biscuits are good, and that's about it. We have only come back here a few times in the past year and only came today for endless shrimp. The new soy ginger shrimp are good but we only got a limited amount. Endless is a joke. They take so long to bring refills, you get frustrated and leave. I'm sure this is something brought down from corporate to make them more money. The only good thing about our visit was the general manager Lindsey. I was on vacations in Bismarck and I love that place for supper,,really really and comfortable place.

I know I'm in ND and this is a Red Lobster but it was a mistake coming here. I ordered the grilled shrimp with rice pilaf. Healthy right? They were buried in a greasy buttery sauce that was so unappealing. It was like they poured squeeze butter over it. The rice was greasy, how do you make rice greasy? I ate at the bar. There was a very loud regular at the bar who kept shouting out to the staff and they kept shouting back. "Johnnnnyyyy!!! Wahooooo! How are you??!!!!" Things like that over and over. The bar is right by the kitchen and twice the kitchen broke out into song. I'm trying to have a relaxing dinner. Between the regular shouting out\telling loud stories and the kitchen's songs that wasn't going to happen There was also a heavy moldy smell that came and went as people walked by behind the bar. It has been years since I've dined at Red Lobster. It was better than I remember! Everyone was stuffed and happy with the meal. The garlic biscuits have never disappointed. Great restaurant! I love all the selections of sea-foods. Great servers also, but the manager is horrible. I overheard her chewing out two teenagers about not tipping enough. I get that the servers work really hard and they don't make a lot. But she guilt tripped the kids, manipulated them, and robbed them to give her more money. You could tell that they felt very bad but she kept harassing them about tipping more. Maybe she shouldn't rely on tips to pay the workers, yes red lobster is good but your prices are also high. I wish to never see that happen again, especially when teenagers don't make a lot, they are still learning and they might not know how to tip properly. They don't need a stranger chewing them out because that's their parents jobs not hers. The manager needs to manage the restaurant not the kids or how others live their life. She can't rob them of their money if she doesn't like it then maybe she should quit. I could see that they were very embarrassed when she publicly humiliated them. I love your food but after seeing how she treated these kids I would never ever bring my kids back again. Because what if she is going to keep harassing other customers who don't give enough tips. read more

The food was prepared right and tasted good. Service was fair. Sometimes have to ask more than once for things. There was a large group next to us with many young children running, yelling and climbing on things and no one asked them to quiet down. That is very disturbing when you're trying to have a conversation and peaceful meal. read more
