Dont come here for lunch. Typically when you go to a restaurant at lunchtime they move faster but it still took us almost two hours to eat here for lunch and there were only three of us. We arrived around 1230 pm. The food was typical Red Lobster food (no qualms about the food) but it was pretty dead in there and seafood doesnt take very long to cook so im not understanding why it took so long. Staff was nice and friendly but way too slow for me. I dont think we will be visiting to this location again. read more

I have never been more upset with a restaurant. We drove almost an hour to get there and they said it would be an hour wait. We were going to wait but I could see a dirty table that nobody cleaned off. After almost a 1/2 hour of watching a dirty table not being cleaned off for someone else to sit we finally left. This place has seriously gone down hill. The food while always too expensive which I expected was greasy and tasteless. While waiting for our food our waitress was sitting right next to use with some friends of hers at the other table and not tending to her tables. After eating a small portion of our food I had to hurry and pay for my meal which literally made me sick. This is such a shame I used to love Red Lobster. This location is really slacked. We asked for booth got seated at a table repeated that we wanted a booth so many booths was available the hostess goes those are for a later party(later came & no it wasn't) but there was one booth just needed to be clean she clean it really quick then we sat down took a min for our waiter to ask what we want for our drinks once order they came out quick. Then we order our food. Took a long time for salads & the biscuits our main meal came out first it was bought out by someone else & not waiter by time we found our waiter he said he thought the girl bought out our salads & biscuits. So, I was sitting at the end of the bar and at the end of my meal I gave the bartender lady my credit card. She went to the register swiped my card and did the transaction. When she completed the transaction still with the card in her right-hand she turned so that her left side was toward me and was doing something around her right hip area with my card. This took about five seconds and it just seemed awkward to me. I have heard of servers skimming customers credit cards and stealing card numbers but I never thought it would happen to me. I immediately called the credit card company and reported my card stolen. The food was great though and the service she provided was excellent. I would suggest taking cash if it all possible and paying with cash only. I can't be certain anyone is guilty of anything, this is just what I observed and want others to beware. read more

So we stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Table for two should be no problem; after all, they are not incredibly busy. The hostess is nice. She looks around for a table for us... we specifically ask not to be seated by the restrooms... any guess where our seats are? Jordan, the server was excellent. Best part of my meal was the biscuits which were free. I had the catfish with fries and salad. Salad had slimy pieces of lettuce in it. Fries were brown and dried out. ? Dirty grease. Catfish had odd taste. My husband had Walt's shrimp with baked potato. He liked the shrimp, he thought they were good size, the potato was also a reasonable size. We asked for a quiet corner. No where is quiet. Picked up some togo on Father's Day. This particular location is always so busy...but if you go you'll know why. For a chain...they just do it right. Got a couple of Ultimate feasts not 5 star food but solid 4 stars always. The great thing with Red Lobster is you can Add on ANYTHING and its a lot cheaper. Add a Rock Lobster tail for 18.99 much better than the 30+ for the entree which is the same thing with a side. They go through each item you order and made sure to include all necessary sauces lots of cheddar bay biscuits and silverware! read more

I orderd crab linguine at the Coeur D alene Id site. It was full of crab shells and i had to throw half of it away. For the price i paid it was really bad. I will not be back..Way full of shells.. It's Mother's Day weekend so I understand it being busy. But our server seemed very scattered. She couldn't answer questions about the menu and never asked if we wanted an appetizer or drinks. When we recieved our salads mine was drown in dressing. The main courses were ok. Pretty par for Red Lobster. I am disappointed with how small the cheddar biscuits are now. Very bad experience here tonight. I called on Thursday to advise them that i would be bringing a party of 8-10 people on Saturday at 730pm for my father's birthday. I asked if there is anything i need to do to avoid a wait. I spoke with a manager who told me they would make note to prepare the staff and just tell the host my name. I did exactly that earlier this evening and was told its first come first serve and they would have to split up my party. The hostess told me the wait was 1 hr and because they are at capacity they aren't taking parties. I asked for the manager who told me the same. 30 mins later i notice a party of 8-10 ppl sitting in the section facing north. 30 minutes later I notice another party of 8-10 ppl be seated very quickly and with courtesy. My party wasn't seated for 2 hours and i had to make a serious fuss to get seated as a group. The ONLY thing that made dinning here a slightly decent experience was the waitress. She brought plenty of biscuits, kept our drinks refilled and was sure to bring our salads and appetizers in a timely fashion. The hostess and manager were very disobliging and neither seemed to really know what was going on, why, or how to fix it. Are the servers the only people with a freaking clue here? read more

Update to my original review. The 1 star for the wait time vs how many open tables they have at a time still stands. But this location offers call ahead seating...which has been a life saver if you are wanting to dine here. Service (Except for in the bar area) has been nice each time we have dined here, it's just getting past the extreme wait time that still makes this place just okay. read more

An older Resturant badly in need of updates. My wife and I on date night without children chose to eat at the chain store to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. They provided our food in a timely manner considering there was a 20 minute wait to get in the sold out store. I have not been to the red lobster in 2 or 3 years and was shocked at how much it was all the same. Service was adequate. The bill was nothing short of amazing, $75! Two Coca-Cola refills one ultimate sampler platter one salmon equaled and astonishing Bill, I was just got by the fact lack of refills to which i don't place the blame on our server, but onto management. This lady was great, having one group of 15 plus 3 other smaller tables. I'd suggest to go somewhere else. While we were waiting we tried to get to the bar and have a drink which was a no go do to the old people setting in the chairs not spending money just waiting to be seated. The server forgot many items we ordered and then messed up the bill at the end. at the time we were there, the restaurant was not super busy, still had to wait for 20 minutes to get a table. Used to be one of my favorite places but feel like this place is taking shortcuts that are showing up in the food. Food was served on a hot plate but was only lukewarm. Overall kind of bland and even the hot drawn butter had a milky odd appearance. Shrimp scampi was rubbery and looked to just be tossed in a garlic butter. I visited redlobster tonight along with my husband . When I go I always ask for my favorite waitress yo- yo but she was serving another party so she wasn't available. So we were seated there was no long wait we beat the rush . However I had a waitress by the name of Blair T and I just wanted to let you know that she was right on point. She was friendly took order correctly , very attentive , got us in and out didn't have to wait long for check. So when my regular waitress isn't there I will ask for her . Whatever you do, DO NOT eat at the Red Lobster in Fairview Heights, IL. This place is gross and cares absolutely nothing about their customers. I became extremely ill from eating a Cesar salad that came with a $54 order I purchased. This was the only thing I'd eaten that day because I'd spent the entire day moving and didn't have time to eat anything until later that evening. Very next morning, I was sick and in pain. Ended up missing two days of work as a result. Submitted a complaint to customer relations which was a total waste of time. The complaint lead to them submitting a claim with their insurance company only to have their insurance rep contact me after waiting two months to tell me it was denied. Like I really thought anything would come of it anyway. The least they could've done was refund me the $54 I spent on the food. Instead, I was offered NOTHING, not even an apology! I will never eat at this location or any other Red Lobster ever again. read more

Last time i went on my birthday to indulge in my guilty pleasure, the shrimp! They took all my faves off the menu but luckily they still have walt's favorite shrimp right? wrong!!! what they have is shrimp breaded in gunk then lightly teased in the fryer for that oh so wonderful gooey raw shrimp. Looks like this is a sushi joint now. After being seated we waited 17 min to even get a drink order and was told by 3 servers that they would be right back after we could clearly see those three servers arguing over who was going to take are table.... the man dimly came over and told us that we was here to take are drink and food order and that he was very busy.... are you kidding me.........while we waited for are drinks "mind you there were only 2 of us" but anyway that server continued to wait on over table before her went to get are drinks. I have always heard great things about Red Lobster, however I was rather disappointed with my recent visit. I'll start with the good. Our cocktails were nice and refreshing and reasonably priced, we had ordered the muscles to start off with and I would say that was the highlight of the meal. They were cooked just right. Our sever I believe her name was Cindy was nice. Now for the negative aspect of our visit. My boyfriend had ordered steak and lobster with mashed potatoes and the tomatoes, mozzarella salad. He had ordered his steak medium rare and it came out more on the medium/medium well side. Although, he didn't mind he thought the steak and lobster tasted great . Although, our tomato salad didn't come out till about 10 minutes after we had revived our meal. Which, isn't a huge deal I understand things happen, but it would have been more enjoyable to have it with the meal. And it was rather bland could use a little more basil and pepper. Just my opinion. Now onto my meal I had ordered the fresh lobster the catch of the day, steamed and cleaned with broccoli and zucchini and squash. When my meal had arrived it looked beautiful. Now for the downfall (again my personal opinion and experience) the broccoli was stone cold I had too send it back TWICE and it still wasn't hot. However, I didn't want to be that person that kept sending back their food. I don't believe it was the waitress fault she is not cooking the food. But the second time I send back my good for being cold it should be extra hit, fresh and the manager should deliver the food or at least come to the table. But needless to say neither is that happened and my broccoli was rubbery. Yuck! The lobster was okay it was in the chewy side I fell for $35 a plate my lobster should be hot and filling it wasn't very filling and didn't seem like a pound and a half of meat. The zucchini however, was great (better than the lobster). Then, when the check came one thing I like was that they had tip percentages. For I have been in the service industry for 10 years and think people need to be reminded of it. But they include tax on the tips and add an extra $5 to what 20% should be. Granted it's a "suggested tip amount" and that's not a big deal just thought I would mention it. All in all I don't think I would go back, I have been here three times now and always leave disappointed. For a $100 dinner I could have gone to Lombardos on the hill and had a appetizer, salad, meal and a bottle of wine for two for $120 and left much more satisfied. It's not about the money but about the dinning experience and quality of food and I believe it was very poor. Also, the manager touched every table but mine and the table next to us, I found that to be rather odd. But good luck red lobster hopefully you can take this as constructive criticism and perhaps learn from this. I used to love Red Lobster but last night will probably be the last time I go; especially to the Fairview Heights location. The wait was horrendous. We were told it would be about 45 minutes. We checked back with the hostess after it was getting close to an hour and we were told it would be about 10 more minutes. Okay, it is a Saturday, still not bad, right? Finally after waiting one hour and 45 minutes we were finally seated . . . . and after numerous people that came in after us were seated. Everywhere on the internet it says Red Lobster restaurants don't take reservations/call ahead seating so my bad for not actually calling to make sure as apparently they now do. Most restaurants won't book large parties on a Friday or Saturday evening or at least keep them to a limited number, especially between the 5 pm - 7 pm rush time because . . . it's a Friday or Saturday evening and they are already extra busy. Not here - there were probably 3 or 4 large parties which I guess was the reason one family of five had to wait almost 2 hours!! If they would have just told us upfront that it would be well over an hour wait, we would have never stayed. Apparently that is what they tell everyone that walks in because they continually told people that came in after us it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait (they did add fifteen more minutes on!). Maybe the hostesses just need more training in figuring out semi-accurate wait times but I recognized them from previous visits and they've all worked there for years. This would lead you to believe they are just not honest with people in hopes of not turning customers away. I totally get that it was a Saturday and expected to wait but not for almost two hours and not one full hour longer than what you said when we walked in. That is by far unreasonable. There were actually smaller parties that came in right after us (not call aheads either) that were seated, ate, and left before we were seated. I guess a party between 4-8 throws them into a conundrum but they can handle smaller groups and those with over 10 with no problems. I guess we were really the fools because once we were seated, there was hardly anyone left still waiting (many had already given up and left). Honestly, we sat there patiently and only asked once nicely where we were in the wait. Funny how a few people that we are pretty sure came in well after we did, but loudly pitched a fit about the wait were seated right after they complained! Now to the food - menu selections seem smaller and prices are way too high for the size and quality of the food. They've really just gone downhill over the years - the second biggest reason I won't go back. The food was just average, if even that - let's face it, the Midwest typically overcooks seafood so it ends up tough and rubbery with little flavor. The same can be said here. The only thing that tasted excellent were the cheddar bay biscuits - still exceptional! The only saving grace to the evening was the great waiter. I don't recall his name but he told us he was originally from Miami. He was a very attentive waiter and was very friendly. If I were only giving stars for his service, it would have been 4 or 5 stars for sure! read more
