This is probably one of the best Golden Corrals in Florida. My husband, and I come here frequently and we love it! The food is always stocked and it's hot and ready. Plus it's very clean here and organized. The staff here is so friendly, and helpful our favorite Server is Jeip she is always so happy and welcoming to us when we come. They had a lot of food but the veggies did not look good at all. The salad bar, the salad looked old and saw flies in the area, then the Brussels sprouts look see super soggy, the broccoli looked dry as well. I can say I enjoyed the pot roast and our server was really nice and attentive but really didn't think the food was great. Either was too salty or just bland. read more

Golden Corral Punta Gorda 5-18-24: Stopped by for dinner at 4:30ish and this place was packed. The parking lot was full and once inside the right side of all the tables were occupied. From what I could see this place was clean and everything around the food areas were also clean. I have been to this place a couple times as my dad which is 92 loves this buffet and all the food choices. The main food bar is packed with all kinds of food items to choose from. To start at one end is Steak, Mushrooms, Onions & Peppers, Onion Rings, Ribs, Meat Loaf, Fried Shrimp, Chicken Wings, Fried Chicken, Bourbon Street Chicken, Pot Pie, Fried & Baked Fish, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Corn, Macaroni & Cheese, Rolls, Baked Potatoes, all kinds of vegetables this is just to name a few. On the Taco bar there is Taco Meat, Shells and all the fixings to make any kind of tacos you want. Now the salad bar is packed with all kinds of fruit, and they also have crab salad. There is so much to choose from and too much to name. The desert bar has all kinds of cakes and pies plus ice cream and some fixings for that. I use to get pie and bread pudding for dessert, it was so good. I don't care for the ice cream but others in my party loved it. I got the steak for the main course, and they will do it how you like it. The Steak was good, not too tough, and not too chewy, it was large enough. I always get the Fried Shrimp and Mashed Potatoes and they both were good and hot. I make sure I get some Pot Pie as it reminds me of back home. It was hot, full of Chicken and very good. I end up with the crab salad now its imitation crab but its good enough for me as I try to stay away from deserts. This place has never disappointed me as far as the quantity of food they have. It is a buffet and if you want a 5 diamond or Michelin star restaurant this may not be the place for you. If you want a large selection of food and food that is tasty this may be just the place for you. I say try it and draw your own conclusion. Amazing!!! The fried shrimp is AWESOME!!! The Mac & Cheese is FIRE!!! The Pizza is OK. All of the food is good. There is a wide variety of food so I never get bored. We are visiting the Punta Gorda area & have been to this GC a couple of times. This is one of the better GC restaurants where the food is well stocked & always fresh. We love the variety. We're seniors so we try to go between 1:00 & 3:00 to get the Senior Early Bird special. The price is about the same as any other restaurant but the bonus here is you have so much to choose from, including desserts. Be sure to ask for Jeip's (pronounced Jeep) section. She a little Asian lady who always has a big smile on her face & is extremely happy & very attentive. Our drinks never got empty. read more

One of the few Golden Corrals left that we will eat at. It has become our routine lunch spot when we are out running around. The staff is very friendly, and they continually come by to check on us. There is always someone at the bar cleaning, restocking, etc. A great grill which serves grilled sandwiches at lunch- usually hamburgers and they are delicious! At dinner steaks are available and we were pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The desserts are always bountiful with lots and lots of choices, including sugar free. The kids will love the slush machine! All in all this is a good local restaurant with very nice employees. Golden Corral also has a great reward club which is an added bonus. read more

This is a franchise location and you can tell the minute you walk in the door. The carpeting is worn, the booths all have huge cracks in the vinyl and the cushion under it is all stained. Sometimes the wait staff we have had has been just plain rude. The food at this location is inconsistent and sometimes just plain disgusting. We love Golden Corral and usually enjoy our outings there but we will steer clear of this location until they clean it up. read more

I ate here twice. I like the spacious seating and the variety of food. The desert bar had good variety. A couple pies we're a little stale but the ice cream is really good. The fried okra is the bomb and they had fried plaintain and it was yummy too. I'll be coming back here again in the future. read more

Do not go here. Patrons are not required to use gloves. Of course, very few individuals were using gloves and saw an older patron touch the food. Clearly nobody cares we are in a pandemic. Yes, this a buffet but one would assume folks would be wearing gloves. I've been to other buffets within the same area and everyone was required to have one glove on while at the buffet. I held my standards and wouldn't eat. I wish I could say the same about others in my party. I asked for a refund within 5 min after sitting down. The manager did provide a refund but wouldn't greet me, apologize or say a word. Very unprofessional and added more salt into the wound. read more

If I would have graded this business prior to there reopening it would have been not so good but since the reopening things have gotten much better new flooring vs a nasty stained up carpet the staff tends to be much happier and the quality of the food has even gotten better great job guys your now back on one of my preferred stops to grab a quick lunch read more

Got really stressed out. Came from church met my friends at Golden coral in Punta Gorda. Place was packed. No social distancing as you could hardly move. I freshen my hands and applied their gloves then Proceeded to get me a steak . I notice no one was using the gloves provided. Returning to the table I Sat down and my friends friend was unhappy with her steak. It was pretty raw looking. They did bring her a new steak. I was finishing up eating and got in my purse and took my insulin to take and put away one mask and got out a lighter one. As they bother my breathing. Anyway as we were sitting there the manager comes up to me and says someone reported seeing me in the camera putting food in my bag. I was so upset. I said he could search my bag if he would like he said he had to check with us. And then walked away after making his accusations. As he walked away I said I would not be back to a place that accuses someone of stealing in front of a full dining room. How embarrassing. I did not see anyone cleaning much and as I said they were too dog gone crowded! So upset I forgot pictures. Never again! read more

Great place to eat good food and friendly staff will return

I enjoy coming to this Golden Corral. I mostly go to their weekend breakfast or their weekend dinners. They have a great variety of food to choose from, and I especially enjoy their prime rib and fried chicken. And on their weekend breakfast you can have your own omelets made. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is polite and friendly. When we go a nice lady name Sophie usually takes care of us, and she is such a sweetheart. She always makes sure you have what you need, and that your drinks are always refilled. I would also like to thank Golden Corral for putting out a wonderful Military Appreciation Meal for Veterans days. The place was packed full and I had a great time. Thank you. read more

I went there again tonight after seeing their sign offering steak, shrimp, and salmon after 4:00 PM. The salad bar was good, although the deviled eggs were rubbery (like they were a couple of weeks ago). The salmon was not worth mentioning and the shrimp were small shrimp on a skewer and done on the grill. Disappointing. Now for the steak. ITWAS TOUGHER THAN CHUCK NORRIS. We recently ate at the Punta Gorda restaurant and were very pleased!! The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. There are a few window booths that need new seats but all in all the place was very well kept. The women who were cleaning tables did a fantastic job!! My Husband really loves the salad bar, which is always full and neat. We both have to brag about the delicious roast beef, so tender and a must!!! The wait staff is always checking on the table and filling up the drink glasses. We really do like to eat here and will be back often. read more

You don't go to places like this expecting fancy décor -our least you shouldn't! inexpensive food with a lot of choices is what it is all about and it fulfills that role. I go there for lunch once in awhile and think that it is great for what it is. If you had nothing but the salad bar and soup it would be a good deal and less than eating at a fast food joint. Love the all you can eat buffets. This Golden Corral was a little bit smaller and older than the others I have been to, but the food was just as good. Service was excellent too, very attentive. Salad was fresh, all items were very fresh and hot except the breakfast items, which I guess not many people were eating at noon. The deserts were fantastic, cheesecake, mmmmmmm. We've eaten at various Golden Corrals over the years, and I think that they are generally OK. My wife's a chocolate fountain junkie. The food quality and taste varies somewhat from Restaurant to restaurant. I've had some real ho-hum meals and some good meals. Our experience at this unit was excellent (the best!). Our waitress Jeip (pronounced Gee-ip) was very friendly and attentive, frequently thanking us for choosing to dine at their restaurant, while she was getting us refills and clearing our dishes at each visit to our table. We remarked to her about how impressed we were with everything, so she made the manager come over so that we could tell him. Actually he's the one who deserves the credit for the great tasting food and the great service. Even though this restaurant is a 40 minute drive from our house, we'll be going back again the next time we're in the mood for buffet. read more

This is our second visit to Golden Corral at this location. The previous visit was about 7 years ago when we first moved to the area. Unfortunately, not much has changed. We went after church this morning, 1-22-18, getting there shortly after noon. The charge for 2 adults with senior discounts was $28, which was totally ridiculous, but...here we were. The place has the ambiance of an Army mess hall, but the Army puts out better food. Virtually everything here is covered with or cooked in butter, oil or grease. I just got a plate of veggies, and everything was uniformly overcooked and mushy. My wife got a few shrimp to put atop her salad, and said they were "ok". For dessert, I had something that claimed to be apple cobbler, but was utterly tasteless. My advice....forget this place. I have nothing against the Golden Corral brand; in fact, we often visit their various franchises while traveling, but this place is the pits. There are many better choices nearby. read more

This was the worst experience I have had in a long time, I visited this place while on the way from Tampa to Miami on 05/21/17, when we sat down and went to look at the buffet, everything looked like it had been there all day, the salad bar had obviously rusty lettuce and the mayonnaise based salads looked positively dangerous. I have never been to a Golden Corral like this, granted they are not fine dining but you can at lease count on some soup and salad that will be decent, we talked to the manager and got a refund. read more

My biggest issue would be the policy of finding your own seat, I would think they could control the flow better if they were sitting their customers. If you want the true deal, don't get a beverage, as they are like 3 bucks each (for a coke). For two, it wound up being about 30 bucks. which isn't a deal unless you can eat and eat and eat until you are ready to be sick, throw up and then eat more. read more
