Cecilia ate and left no crumbs. My manicure was excellent and she was super gentle. I can be a little finicky when technicians get to my cuticles because I'm always afraid they'll cut me. She also patched a small crack in my pointer finger with acrylic for free! I also got a spa pedicure, but not sharing any pics because those are not free (jk). The pedicure was super relaxing and there were hot stones included. Cecelia put her back into scrubbing my legs and feet. My one complaint is that the nail polish was a little messy on my right foot (only on some toes), which is weird because my left foot is perfect. Would absolutely still come again though. Pains me to write this but I'm in even more pain from the extremely bad pedicure. I came here for a regular pedicure and the lady who did my nails was really rough and didn't seem that experience. I flinched a few times when she was cutting my cuticles because she over did it and cut into my skin. Then when she was scrubbing my feet, she managed to scrape off a layer of skin on the side of my foot which does not even have callouses. Never again! Ugh...my poor feet. read more

I needed to redo my nails ASAP. It was so grown out, so I looked for one around my area. I stumbled upon Red Nail & Hair Spa on Yelp and decided to stop by after work. Since I usually don't have much luck with nail salons, I didn't set my expectations high. I just went with the flow and prayed they won't eff it up too bad. To my surprise my nail technician was really nice and gentle, she even asked me if I wanted to cut my cuticles before doing so. When she was applying the polish to my nails, she showed me on one nail and asked me if I was okay with the color before proceeding with my whole hand. I was really happy that she's so attentive. Definitely exceeded my expectations! FYI- if you use your card they charge you a $2 fee, so definitely bring cash if you want to save $2. read more

This place is gross. I had to ask my manicurist to changer her gloves they were ripped and dirty and gross and we are in a pandemic I feel changing your gloves should be a given. I've done my nails here twice and I'm very happy with their work! In December, I did black gel nails with this white "sparkle dust". It ended up being gold. It was beautiful! My nails looked so good! Today I did pink foiled nails and they're so prettyyyy! It is a bit pricey but it depends what you get. Last time I was charged $30 for my gold sparkle nails. Today, it was $45 for my foil pink nails. The prices vary depending on the style and design... I also always wax my eyebrows and lip here because it's fast and affordable. It's always a different person that does my wax and they've all been great. I hope to come back for bling my nails out very soon and/or try their SNS powder manicures. Red Nail and Hair Spa is split into two separate sections, the front is a nail place and the back is space for hair cutting, dying, etc. (Overall summary: last paragraph) I dyed my hair blue-purple at this salon in September and absolutely love the results. The color is still fantastically vibrant (note: I exercise extreme care for my hair. ie: purple hair requires maintenance!) I have also cut my hair here and was extremely satisfied with the cut. The stylist understood exactly what I wanted. However most of this review will be about my hair coloring experience. The salon is such a gem though it may not seem that way from first impressions. If you've researched hair coloring tutorials on YouTube you will know about Olaplex (1 and 2) and Chromatid Vivid colors. I was very surprised to find that this salon was able to offer these products. Both of which were used on my hair to obtain my color. After the procedure, I did not feel any damage in my hair. But let's be realistic, of course my hair is damaged from being bleached however the Olaplex definitely deduced the damage to a minimum. My hair is no more damaged than it would be had I dyed it on my own without bleach. (I have dyed my hair about 10 times prior to this) My hairstylist was Qui (Q). He was extremely patient with the procedure and spent the utmost care on my hair. The entire process probably took upwards of four hours but dying virgin black hair + half henna-ed black hair to purple would take anyone that long. Mind you, bleaching out henna is an extremely tedious process. Q did not seem annoyed at any point, and waited for the my hair color to even out. All in all, I highly recommend this salon. The hairstylist are experienced and patient. All stylists speak English. I have not done any manicures here so I can't speak for any part of the nail salon. The hair salon charges about as much you would expect from salons in Manhattan( china town) but it is rightly so. You receive quality hair procedures here. I personally do not know anywhere else in Brooklyn that will color your hair to these vivid colors (purples, pinks, blues, etc). read more

On my most recent visit, I was seated right away. Unfortunately, the young woman who was doing my manicure was having too much fun talking to the woman sitting next to her. I understand that this is common in salons; however, on that particular day I felt that it was very unprofessional and I know my manicure could have been done quicker if she wasn't so involved in her conversation. I was searching for a good hair salon. I came across Red nails and Hair spa's review. It had very good rating so I went to check it out. I wanted highlights and a trim. There are pros and cons about it. The pros: I liked the way the guy trimmed my hair. He took his time making sure my hair was straight as possible. I really liked that. The cons: I asked for highlights. I wanted to go lighter for summer. But because I had red highlights previously the guy said a red copper color would be a good color. That's not what I wanted but I agreed to it because I assumed he knew what he was talking about. When it was my turn it the guy doing my hair just went straight to business. As I am currently sitting here getting my fingers cut for about the 10th time I decided to write this review. I came in after seeing some amazing photos on Instagram. Unfortunately upon walking in I was greeted with an attitude and escorted to a novice to do my pedicure. She was very meticulous which was great unfortunately, she cut me several times which I allowed because hey, I'm nice abs everyone has to start somewhere. Next, acrylic nails. I'm seated, discuss a design and price with the "technician" and begin the process. I don't know if this lady got nervous half way through, but my entire right hand is cut up. At one point I had to jerk my hand back from the cut of the machine. After I'm given the bill, I had to manually write in a charge of $1.00 for selecting an Opi nail polish. Are you serious? Ten minutes later I just find out that the design I want is done by another technician so I am here waiting for that lady to finish with her current client, and I already paid! Worst salon ever ! I was waiting for over three hours, I showed the owner of the salon what I wanted and he started my nails. He started off applying the tips and the Uv gel. While he was filing he cut me twice and continued to file my skin. Once we got to the polish he then decided to tell me he couldn't do my design I wanted. I was the only one left in the salon at the time. The rest of the employees left and the shop was locked down. His father entered the salon and while I was trying to figure out a new design the owner who was doing my nails kept staring at me asking if I wanted ombré nails over and over. I felt pressured into getting the ombré nails. He added glitter to the nails as well to hide the sponge marks from doing the ombré nail design. My nails ended up costing me 90$ for something I didn't even want. It has been three days and my nails are already chipping at the beds . Uv gel is supposed to last at least two weeks or longer. I was a bit weary coming here, but I needed my hair done ASAP and it was close by and cheap so I came in here. I only came for a blow dry but when I saw Danny cutting this woman in his chair hair with such precision that I decided to spring for a hair cut too at the last second. He knew my hair problems right away, and I decided to just put trust in him after that, I didn't get as much precision as the last lady, but he did a really good job cutting off my dead ends and giving me the style I wanted on my now shorter hair. I will definitely come back. The prices are reasonable and I took a star off because it was a little dirty for a salon, and I did not get my nails done but almost all the customers in there were for nails. Had a manicure and pedicure here recently and I was not wowed, but I will come again. The girl who did my nails was doing a really thorough job, especially the pedicure, which was a big plus over some Manhattan salons I've been to. Manicure lasted 4 days without chipping, which is a surprise to me. One big minus: the extremely chemical smell in there - worse than any other nail salon I've been to. Probably due to the hair salon in the back. I really feel bad for the girls who work there all day long. Second thing, there was not even a second of a massage, but that was probably just the girl that did my mani/pedi. read more

I tried other places in the neighborhood and also have been to ouidad and devacurl in the city which specialize in curly hair. None compared to the cut I received here.
