I usually love to just provide good reviews. However, I need to share what just happen to prevent anyone else from going through this. I purchased a Groupon from them and have been trying to find availability that works for me, every time I call, they are booked. I called today and Lisa was finally able to give me an available date and time! However I was told by her that "my name sounds familiar" and that I probably purchased a Groupon before. I personally do not remember ever going there. However she preceded to tell me that if I already had purchased a groupon that I cannot use a groupon and I would have to call Groupon to get a refund. She told me to give her my Groupon number so that she can check the number to look back at her records to see if I had ever purchased a Groupon from them before and she would get back to me. All I wanted was to de-stress with a massage and in return I got more stressed out!!!! I went back to the Groupon and even if I had ever purchase a Groupon years ago that I cannot remember, it says on the Groupon to "purchase again" see picture attached. I mean life is stressful enough and being a massage therapist, you should understand that I'm going to you to relief my stress not to add more stress about a Groupon. Everyone be aware. I had received the Groupon for 3 services: the massage, body wrap, and facial all in one day. You don't have to book them all in one day, but I just did. You can definitely divide them up into different days. The receptionist was friendly and professional. The body wrap and facial were great! Suzanne took care of me and was informative and very calming, I almost fell asleep a few times. I felt great after. She explained just enough and provided the body wrap and facial at the same time, for an overall 90 minute session. The massage was ok at best. Grace was my masseuse and she was very informative and knowledgeable. But she talked throughout my entire session and it didn't end up being very calming. I would've much rather she provided the massage, then explained everything at the end of the session. But she did provide explanation for every tension in my body and how to alleviate it in my daily activities. The place itself did look very homey. Don't expect a high end looking spa, but the services are good. I would definitely recommend the body wrap and facial. Also note that there is a tax for the body wrap and facial. Around $3.30 per service, but that is nothing since it was a worth it. read more

I was not a fan of the lady that did my massage, she started 7 min later and ended 10 min early. She likes to talk a lot and ask a lot of personal questions. They also have other service like wraps, i had them before but in this place they don't have showers so they only use their product on legs,arms and back and they wrap you up. After they just scrub you off and your done. I was not please overall it was a very unprofessional place to me. Btw they ask you to pay tax that they said Groupon charges them. I came here with a groupon and was sitting in the waiting area very stressed. The receptionist was very nice and said don't worry everything will fall into place which was very comforting. She said if I have faith everything will work out. I told her I was Catholic and asked if she was too. She said she wasn't and didn't say anything after that. It was an awkward silence so I asked her what religion she belonged to and she wasn't nice anymore. She said I rather not say. I thought that was odd very odd. This place is not accommodating. I got a groupon for a facial. My appointment was rescheduled 3 times, and I am definitely not going to reschedule again. The first time, the esthetician abruptly changed their hours. Another time, I was told that the first appointment was at 9, so I scheduled for 12. I get a call on the way there that the esthetician got into a car accident. Sounds fishy to me. Very inconvenient as I was prepping for this facial for a couple of days (not using certain products because the facial would take care of my skin issues). Big waste of my time. It was very poorly by a women I can only explain as creepy and uncomfortable, I seriously considered getting up and leaving during my massage had I not paid money.. she ate candy while she massaged me, spent an unusual amount of time "stretching" my legs and not massaging, and to top it off they didn't start till 1:15 but the massuse was promptly out the door at 2... also without the Groupon the prices reflect a high end spa not a hole in the wall with shotty staff... Do not buy the Groupon, not worth it! I went with my boyfriend and was not at all satisfied. My massage therapist was very kind but did not apply enough pressure. My boyfriend's massage therapist was another story entirely! A previous yelp reviewer mentioned someone "creepy" massaging them and that's exactly what happened in his experience. She was eating and not conducting the massage in a professional way at all. She would not concentrate on the areas of his back he asked for and talked throughout the whole thing. I'd rather spend double the money than go to this place. A few places I'd recommend that are well worth it are Spa 190 in Mineola and The Ruby Spa in Manhattan. I would give zero stars if I could. I purchased a Groupon for a Swedish Massage, which cost $95. I'm pregnant, so I would need a Pregnancy Massage, which costs $75. $20 LESS THAN THE SWEDISH MASSAGE. However, the spa will not honor the Groupon. So I'm 35 weeks pregnant, just found out my mom has breast cancer and can't use the Groupon I paid for even though the service I requested costs less than the service I purchased. I had a very positive experience here. I am really not sure what the negative reviews are about. I came for a massage with a groupon and found the place to be cozy, clean and comfortable. Lisa was so pleasant, sweet, and professional. Yes, she was both managing the front desk and was also my masseuse, but it's called running your own business. She was awesome. She had great technique for Swedish massage, focused on some trouble areas she found, and even gave me some tips on what might be causing my tightness and how to better stretch. The pressure of the massage was exactly right and she checked in with me several times to make sure that it wasn't too strong. I left feeling relaxed and the day after my body still feels better for it. I will definitely come back here for my next massage. read more

I had used their service in the past and didn't have any problems but as of late they seem to have become very full of themselves. My wife purchased a groupon for a massage for Christmas. When I called to schedule an appointment, I was shocked to find that they would not honor it because I had been there before. Some nasty receptionist told me I could get a facial or body wrap but NOT the massage I wanted. This is such a crap way to run a business especially for repeat customers. She went on to tell me about "the small print ". Such a horrible expression. I was very surprised that Lisa would use this practice in her business as my past dealings with her proved to be very liberal and down to earth. I guess success has gone to her head because she's acting just like big business would with small print and loop holes. I have a lot of stress due to my job and try to get a Swedish massage once every 2-3 months. Since that can get pricey I was thrilled to see a Groupon for a massage near my job. The masseuse was also at the front desk and I think the owner (but I'm not sure of that). I was a little taken aback when the masseuse lead me to a room and although I'm sure the sheets were clean but they looked dingy (i assume from the massage oil) and had those little fuzz balls all over them that weren't comfortable when laying on them. I thought it would be a peaceful experience; instead it was more stress. The masseuse keep mentioning that I had dry skin and i was using a lot of oil and to relax; but it's hard to relax when someone is hurting you. Despite my ouches and saying that hurts she would lighten up for a minute but her heavy hands would continue shortly thereafter. My neck and shoulders have the most tension and I tensed up every time she touched me as it was so painful. I was in so much pain I took an Aleve that night and went for another massage a week later. Even deep tissue massages weren't this uncomfortable. This is by far the worst massage I've ever had. read more

This place needs a lot of improvement, both in its appearance, the "spa experience" and customer service. There were stains on the rugs and all of the products looked well-used and disorganized. There weren't any white noise machines and there wasn't any spa music being played in the treatment rooms (I could hear the trucks rumbling outside when the aesthetician's phone app wasn't playing rock music!). The receptionist tried to charge me an additional $15 for extraction (What?!?! Isn't this included in any standard facial???) and claimed the credit card machine was down so I'd have to pay in cash (it was a small amount of money for tax and the extraction upcharge, which I didn't end up paying anyways, so my assumption is that she didn't want me to use a card because of their service charge). The place just gave me a bad vibe. Like they didn't take themselves seriously or respect their business and customers. For their prices, the spa and the experience should reflect those prices! I went in August 2016 with a groupon. Was good. I purchased another Groupon and made an appointment for today. The receptionist took the groupon info and called today to confirm. I travelled 20 minutes in the snow . As soon as I walk in the receptionist wearing her coat says oh you look familiar. Mentioned I was here in August. The reply was oh you cannot use another Groupon again, said I should've read the fine prints. I said I wish you would've called me. The prices are reasonable and there is no pressure in purchasing the facial products sold here, which I'm very big on. Suggestions are made but I never felt obligated. I got a Groupon to try this spa since it is so close to my home. I'm really glad I bought it! My Swedish massage was awesome!!! I really enjoyed it. This is not the fanciest spa around, but the service was prompt, it was clean, and everyone was exceptionally friendly. The prices are reasonable and I will definitely be back - I'm hoping I can try one of their discounted seasonal specials. The only problem I could foresee is parking on a day with lots of appointments, there is space for about 2-3 cars in front of the building. However, there is ample street parking surrounding the spa if you know where to look. read more

I've had both a facial and massage here. Facial was wonderful. Aesthetician was extremely knowledgable and had a very gentle touch. My skin looked great even a week after the facial. I would give that experience 5 stars. The massage, however, was horrible. I had a coupon for a discounted massage for any day in my birth month. I don't know if they brought someone in to do these discounted massages since I had heard there were very good therapists there. This particular therapist had absolutely in idea what she was doing. She scratched me, had no pressure, and kept pouncing my skin. It was so awful and uncomfortable that I had to stop the treatment. I was as kind about it as I could possibly be but I had asked the therapist several times to apply more pressure and to stop pinching the skin but she did not comply. They sent in another therapist whose pressure was so deep I left with bruises around my scapula. While I would say the second therapist was skilled, I did ask her to lighten up several times but she didn't really do that. She also talked a lot during the treatment. She used coconut oil to massage (which is actually very good for the skin and I like it) however, she should have asked if I had any allergies and if I minded the smell. She also removed the oil from the jar with a spoon which was very noisy. I would imagine you should spoon out what you need for each treatment beforehand and put it in a sanitary container. As you can imagine, it was a horrible experience. I have heard that the owner of the spa gives a great massage so if you go there, you should request her. Summary: facial was excellent. CAUTION******. I purchase a groupon for this place for a massage/facial/body wrap. I made 3 separate appts which are allowed. First appt I show up to a small house-like office and was hoping not to judge a book by it's cover. My therapist was not there yet because she didn't know she had an appt. she showed up 10 min late. My massage was for 60 min she only went for 50. Also she kept digging into me with her elbows and in normally used to deep massages but this part of the massage was painful. Anyway fast fwd 2nd appt was cancelled and rescheduled. My facial was great. 3 rd appt was for my body wrap on May 30th, the day before I left for Mexico. I showed up at office and the doors were locked, lights off, and phone busy. I left a nasty letter in the mailbox. Went on my trip to Mexico, came back and still have not heard from them. Their phone is still busy. The deal just went back up on groupon and I strongly advise to call red phoenix before buying this deal. WARNING!!! BAD NEWS!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH PHOENIX WELLNESS CENTER IN MINEOLA.!!! THE WORD "WELLNESS" SHOULD NOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PLACE!!! I received the groupon for a massage as a gift. I could not make an appointment right away since I had a breast lump removed and explained this to the owner and made an appointment after the incision site healed up. When I showed up, the owner was at the desk was very cold and told me I was "scheduled but not booked" - and I asked what that meant. Obviously, she was double talking and thought I would buy it. I was then told that I was not going to receive the massage because I cancelled before. I couldn't believe my ears! I called the week before and made the appointment and confirmed it. She didn't even have the decency to call me to tell me not to show up. She then began to blatantly lie to me and said that I cancelled 4 times - I replied that this was a lie. Her response from then on was "whatever" while looking down at her papers - very arrogant. I now realize that not getting a massage there was a blessing in disguise because the place was in a dismal, unclean house and the owner was nasty and creepy.
