The only Filipino bakery chain in the area and pretty solid! Not too big and good customer service. We got Cheese Ensaymada, Ube Ensaymada, Mango Supreme slice, and also an Ube Milk. My favorite were the Ube items. The ensaymadas were really good even a few days after in the fridge! I wish there were more Red Ribbon items that are at the West Coast or Philippines locations. read more

The customer service really good. There was free parking, but it was extremely difficult and very congested. The store had a variety of breads and snacks to purchase. They also had some desserts (cakes)that looked very delicious. They were also serving some hot foods, including empanadas and some other dishes. I wanted the spicy chicken empanada but they didn't have anymore. I decided to try the beef empanada. The beef had a sweetness I wasn't expecting. I am not a huge fan of my meats being sweet, so it was not for my taste buds. However, the empanada pastry itself was very delicious and flaky. I think the spicy chicken would have been perfect for me. I also purchased cheesy mamon which I look forward to heating up and trying. I also tried the carmel bar and the flavor is mild and not overly sweet. It grew on me. I would be willing to go back and try their other items. read more

It is interesting that they have different styles and flavors of cakes and pastries from others bakery shops in this area as Red Ribbon is a Filipino bakery. I had Rocky Road slice cake and Choco Mocha Crunch slice cake. They were tasty and not too sweet. Service was fine. Anyway, the interior is quite simple but new and clean. Besides desserts, there are some Filipino traditional dishes/meals offer for customers with a few dine in tables too. Also sell various flavors bread packages. I've been to RRB once before, but always visited two other shops/bakeries nearby instead. It's nice to have one in MD now. Foods are a little pricey and the packaging on the baked goods could be better as to see what you're getting. They also have hot foods you can order. I purchased the empanada, which were a little flatter than what I'm used to, but they were good. $3.49 is pricey for one, so I just got one to try. The bakery is clean and friendly staff. There was an issue with ringing me up and it had to be done twice. When I got my bill later in the month, I had been charged twice. But overall, it was a pleasant visit and I would probably visit again and try some other items. read more

Heard so many great things about Red Ribbon Bakeshop I was excited when the opened a location in Wheaton. I came on opening weekend. The store was offering special deals. I got the 6-pack sampler. It contained 3 types of ensaimadas (ube, caramel and butter) and 3 types of mamans (butter, mocha and ube). All buns were individually wrapped. All were excellent and moist without being too sweet. They also sell hot savory foods (empanadas and rice dishes). Will need to try their mango supreme and Black Forest cake as well as their cake rolls. read more

Had a chance to stop by this new bakery! It was an hour before closing so no empanadas but they did have one serving of the Palabok! There were also some bakery items left but no cheesy ensaymada. I picked up a variety of pastries including a brownie for my non Filipino food eater. First off the Palabok was SO good. When I opened the container after a 40 min drive home, I was surprised to see a small serving of sauce but the thin noodles were plentiful. WELL, after a few minutes in the microwave that Palabok transformed into a very tasteful and fresh meal. The garlic and the onions were very prominent and that made it so delicious. I was honestly surprised but so glad that I tried it. I did try the Ube Ensaymada. It was moist but honestly didn't care for the Ube. The bakery had an odd smell inside but could have been the location. The staff was super helpful and friendly. I'd certainly return if I was close by. read more

We've been patiently watching this storefront for a while and was so excited to see it opened this last week. I strongly hinted to the family that I needed a birthday cake this week and they knew my favorite is a Black Forest cake. Most places fail miserably at this cake. I'm honestly usually disappointed. But Red Ribbon mostly pulled it off. The whipped cream was good. The cake was soft and fluffy and not too sweet. It needs a bit more cherry in the layers but really this is the closest I've had around here that made me super happy. Finally, Red Ribbon bakeshop opened in Sept. 2023. I have been eagerly waiting for its opening. I visited on a Wednesday morning because it gets crowded later during the day or weekends. I can see a large line outside the bakeshop during the weekends. For customer service, it was fine. The cashier was nice and repeated my order to make sure she got it right. As for the line, I waited 10 minutes to checkout. There were 3 other people ahead of me. Also, there were two cashiers. In my opinion, checkout could be more efficient. The cashiers were a little bit slow. As for the baked goods, I got the cheesy ensaimada, 1 slice of Mango supreme cake, and 1 slice of Ube overload cake.The cheesy ensaimada can be eaten room temp or warm for 10 sec in microwave. I tried both methods; room temp is better. Let's start with the good. The Mango Supreme cake was good; very light and refreshing. If you like fresh Asian fruit cakes, then you will like this cake. I would definitely buy it if I need a cake ASAP. The not so good parts were the cheesy ensaimada and the ube overload cake. The cheesy ensaimada tastes too processed and has a weird spongy texture. For the ube overload cake, it was slightly sweet and colorful. But, I wish it had more ube flavor. I can see Red Ribbon bakeshop's Success internationally. Their cakes are light and refreshing compared to American's styled cakes. As for their breads, they could improve on. If you are looking for solid layered chiffon cakes at reasonable prices, then I would recommend Red Ribbon bakeshop. I would come back to try their other types of cakes. read more

Service was a bit slow but it's because it is usually crowded. It did take some time for one of the cashiers to let me know if I can order individual cake slices for what I wanted (Ube and Mocha) but the staff is friendly. The cake is fresh and very light and not overly sweet. The store does have indoor seating so you can either have your order there or you can wait. My only issue is that this is located in an extremely busy area and while there is a parking lot, you will be fighting for your life. Luckily I managed to find a spot my first time without having to drive around but after I left there was at least 5 cars who were fighting for my spot and I had a time trying to maneuver through the "line" to get out. I went on a Sunday after 4pm so I can only imagine what's it's like on a "normal" day. I do hope to return one day to try other treats but I may just end up taking the Metro there (there's a stop nearby) so I don't risk the parking lot traffic read more

For a hearty cheesy bread - try ensaimada, which comes in ube flavor too. Empanadas are available in original and spicy. If you find some cakes too sweet, you may opt for a sampler cake if available. They have family bundle meals too and drinks (hot/cold). Parking maybe hard but people leave within minutes so just be patient and put on those hazard lights. read more

Really disappointed with our purchase yesterday :( We usually get really good service and good cake/dessert from this Red Ribbon branch but this time, I really regret buying. My husband ordered Mango roll and Ube roll, but instead he was given Mango roll and Mocha roll. He didn't check his order before leaving the store because we've never had any issues with Red Ribbon before. We just found out when we got home that it's not what we ordered. But, we didn't complain because maybe Mocha is good, right? So we tried it and it wasn't too bad but I was really craving that Ube cake. It's a long drive home and we don't really feel like driving back for that. BUT THEN, it's when I tried the MANGO ROLL THAT REALLY MADE ME REGRET BUYING THERE!!! That mango roll tasted like there's some kind of gas or petrol mixed with it. Sorry to say it, but that's how it really tasted for me and the rest of the family the first bite, couldn't even swallow it. Had to throw them in the trash. Such a waste! Not sure if it's just gone bad or something bad got into it. But we just bought it yesterday and tried them after getting home, so I don't think it got bad on the way home. If you want great filipino pastries and baked goods this may be a great atop for you. You have to time it just right because our goal was a mango cake and they were sold out so we had a mango roll. It was still worth the drive and we loaded up on lots of mamons of various flavors. Watch out for the parking here because it is tight and there is lots of traffic coming and going. read more

Compared to the Red Ribbon in NYC, there is less variety here but what they do well is their mamon. My favorite was their ube mamon. Their beef empanada was also pretty good but was not a fan of their halo halo. There wasn't too much toppings and very few pieces of ube flan and I miss the ube icecream on top and instead it was mango icecream which wasn't that good. I believe it's a Filipino owned bakery since they have all sorts of Asian flavor baked goods such as ube and mango. I bought a few rolls to celebrate a bday and they were all a hit. Stumbled here by accident on opening day after picking up food at El Pollo Rico. Tried the Mango Supreme cake. Our family loved it and the cake exceeded all expectations. Really fresh mangos, very moist, and the filling was light and paired perfectly. I can see why this is one of their most popular cakes. The line was really long, but service was excellent. We ordered 3 arroz caldo, 1 to go , 6 empanada 3 spicy chicken 3 regular and for 1 free regular chicken empanada, 2 Pepsi, 1 coffee, 1 choco mocha crunch and 8 variety mamon. Tried the Ube Overload cake and Ube flan- just the slices first at $5.39/slice. Both delicious, but I definitely prefer the ENTIRE ube overload cake for $41+ for next time. The $7 halo halo with mango ice cream (instead of Ube) also looks good and might try soon. read more

I've been waiting over a year for this place to open! It's so awesome to see more Filipino food spots open up in Maryland, and Wheaton of all places! The only con of this location is that it's right in the heart of downtown Wheaton off of Georgia Ave so it makes it a little bit hard to find parking. It's very busy in this area during rush hour so I would highly recommend going later in the evening if you can. There is parking at the lot just before the bakeshop if you're coming south on Georgia Ave. Even though there are many shops in that lot, I find that people leave pretty frequently so I've never had a hard time finding a spot. If this is your first time at Red Ribbon (or any Filipino bakery) would highly recommend trying the cheesy ensaymada or butter mamon! Those are classics. They also sell a variety bag with 6 pastries for $15 if you want to try a few flavors. read more

My favorite here is the Ube and Mango cakes - delicious, followed by spicy chicken empanada which is ALWAYS sold out ( you guys need to find a solution to solve this issue ) and Arroz caldo. Also I don't understand why I am charged for 2 plastic bags when I only need one or only received one ( I know it's only 5 cents but if I come in every day that will accumulate) and I am not giving away money to an already established business. If this is a ma and pa business sure I don't mind. And why is there a long line ?? inside the store. Why can't you open 3 registers when the line gets long ?
