Comforting, clean, friendly service! I love coming to this family owned business for Filipino comfort food. Our favorites are the lumpia, turón, and fresh veggie lumpia. A must try in Rockville!

Sweet little cafe and the prices were right! Food was hot and fresh, and the service was very friendly. (Counter service only - plentiful seating in the cafe.). The lumpia were delicious and really hit the spot on a cold day. Loved all the grab and go desserts and snacks too! This would be a great place to grab a bite after browsing at the Friends of the Library bookstore next door. I will definitely be back to try their breakfasts and fill up my loyalty punch card!

I was in the area recently and feeling snackish so I stopped in for some lumpia and taho both of which were really good! They were obviously made fresh and were just the right size and price for what I was in the mood for. I was tempted by the lechon and other options on the menu but just wasn't hungry enough so I'll have to stop by again. I visited on a Saturday, but they had plenty of seating. It was pretty quiet inside, mostly seemed to be doing takeout.

Full disclosure: I came to Rockville to get my lechon fix at Kuya Ja's, but discovered it's closed on Tuesdays. Still craving crispy pork, we searched for another Filipino restaurant nearby, and found Filo Cafe just 3 minutes away. Thank goodness! Got my plate of lechon with rice and I couldn't be happier. The pieces are smaller in comparison, but each piece was perfectly crispy and juicy. My spouse enjoyed his tocilog with garlic rice and egg (gotta love all day breakfast!), and we couldn't resist carioca, sweet rice balls, to take home, along with homemade bagoong (shrimp paste). This place is solid and reliable for classic Filipino plates. I now have another great go-to Filipino restaurant to get my pig fix anytime.

delicious filipino food with amazing customer service - def recommend you visit and try!! it was my first time eating filipino food and it did not disappoint. the staff was so sweet and patient in explaining everything to us. the place itself is super cute, clean, and cozy - calm filipino music playing in the background, new desserts + drinks to try, and even a couple of board games you can play with friends! my friend and i ordered the kamayan platter with garlic rice, lumpia, lechon kawali, and (beef tapa or pork tocino). the platter was beautiful and such a fun way to sample a bunch of filipino dishes. it also came with three dipping sauces. food was so delicious - the pancit was savory, the lumpia was perfectly crisp, and the lechon kawali was unreal... super crispy skin and juicy pork inside. the garlic rice was so good too, i love a good simple rice. the beef tapa was a little dry in parts but still tasty - i'm curious to try the tocino next time:) only wish is that the portions were a bit bigger (lowkey think i could've eaten the whole platter myself haha). but overall, such a fun experience and i'd definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try filipino food!

Filo Cafe is a lovely place in an unassuming location. We both ordered the Kamayan platter with variations on the meat choices. We also mixed it up with the lumpia as well so we could sample more of the options. Our dinner was presented on banana leaves making for an authentic experience. The platter was a good portion size and could have been shared with two diners. Since we wanted leftovers, we got two platters. Overall, we enjoyed our meals. I loved the pancit and bihon. The beef was dry and chewy. Pork was good and reminded me of char siew. I've always loved lumpia. I like that they're thinly rolled, unlike egg rolls where the stuffing falls out. The service was extremely kind and patient. I say this because we were utterly confused as to how to order and what was included in the kamayan. The lovely person at the counter had to explain to us a few times what the options were. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being so understanding and patient. Parking: Plentiful

I've been visiting this place since the day it opened. I enjoy the food. It's always delicious. The service is always welcoming. The ambience is simple. The place is not too big, so it's just kind of like hanging out in your own kitchen. So, if you like Filipino food, give this place a try. I think you'll like it.

I've stopped by Filo Cafe a couple times now for their ube vanilla llatte float, which I really enjoy. It's smooth, creamy, has good ube flavor, and provides a good pick me up. Topped with a scoop of ube ice cream, it could also serve as a nice dessert to finish your meal. I definitely plan to be back to try their food - their tapsilog and kamayan platter are calling my name!

Service was very good. The dish I had was a traditional breakfast dish, Tocilog. A sweet and savory pork dish served with garlic rice and a fried egg. It was delectable. All the flavor of the pork paired well with the rice and egg. A very casual atmosphere and clean.

Loved the friendly staff. Informative and professional. Portions of the food is large. Simple and traditional food. I got too full to try the fresh lumpia and dinuguan. The price reasonable and the food is tasty. Ambiance is minimalist and clean all around including the bathroom. Absolutely coming back. Check it out if you want authentic Filipino food.

5/5 STAR RATING!!! I'm Filipino myself and I've been looking for a local, authentic, REAL tasting Filipino food - THIS PLACE IS IT. Each bite tastes like home. Best place in the DMV. The ambiance is great, service is quick and easy - turon is readily available to eat while you wait for your main meal. Halo halo for dessert is refreshing and beyond tasteful with one spoonful. EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS A MUST TRY!

Great hole in the wall small business offering delicious Filipino food. We ordered the tapsilog, pancit, halo halo and some Filipino sweets. Located Rockville, there is a lot of parking in the shopping center. Cant wait to go back for more Filipino food!

Dropped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and ordered Tosilog, which from my time in the Navy has always been one of my fave breakfast meals of all time! It's essentially sweet cured pork, garlicky fried rice, and fried egg... yum!!! Also a side of vukes and tomato slice. The pork is marinated and bacony... really good especially if dipped in the vinegar dip. Super fast service and friendly staff! Loads of free parking in strip mall location with a Zumba dance place next door! While I was there, a constant flow of savvy customers doing mostly pick up. My highest possible recommendation!

It's difficult to order a plain burger with the only burger on the menu has bacon and cheese. The food is standard fare. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. The chef pays attention to allergens. I've tried the shrimp roll, the Caesar salad, and the turkey club. All of these can be made gluten free, although the menu doesn't denote it. Another in my party enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the burger. Being inside the Marriott, it is a little overpriced, but the food is good, just hit or miss with service. It feels like a little slice of California in Bethesda, making it a great spot for a casual lunch, brunch, or dinner with friends. We started with the Potato Salad Deviled Eggs and Jalapeño Cornbread. Both were excellent, with the cornbread being a standout. Warm, flavorful, and served with a generous dollop of butter. For my entrée, I ordered the Herbed Chicken Breast Paillard, which was light, fresh, and well-seasoned. The arugula and lemon complemented the dish nicely without overpowering it. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the cookies for dessert. They definitely lived up to the hype and were the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The only area that fell short was the service. Our server was incredibly friendly, personable, and pleasant throughout the meal, but service felt inconsistent. There were several stretches where we didn't see our server for an extended period, which resulted in longer waits for our entrées and even getting a dessert menu. One example that stood out was when I asked for a to-go sleeve for one of my cookies. Unfortunately, it never arrived, and after waiting for a while, I ended up walking over to the bakery counter myself to request one. It was a little awkward because I was questioned about whether the cookie was actually mine before I could get the sleeve. While I understand the need to verify purchases, the situation likely could have been avoided had the original request been fulfilled. None of these issues were major enough to ruin the experience, but they did take away from what otherwise would have been a seamless visit. Overall, I'd still recommend Summer House Santa Monica for the atmosphere, quality food, and dessert selection. With a little more attentiveness on the service side, this could easily be a five-star experience.

My water glass stayed full throughout and she helped me navigate the differences among several espresso martini options from the bar. The dining room has lovely high ceilings and the bathrooms were pristine. I ordered the Costa Mesa salad and added chicken. This brought the cost of my entree to $32 -- which I did not feel met the value for what I was served. The food was good, but there certainly wasn't enough of it or ingredients that I felt warranted the $32 price tag. I also took home four cookies ($5-$6 each) to share with my family. The cookies were good, but again, not worth the price tag. A return visit is probably not in the cards for me any time soon. This is a convenient spot to the iPic Theater and other "downtown" rockville spots so it might be nice to get brunch and then go to a movie or do some shopping. Parking is in a garage nearby.
