I had an amazing experience at Red Rock Brewery at Fashion Place Mall. The parking situation wasn't great, but that's to be expected with any mall on a weekend. The wait time was 45 minutes, but they took us in right at that mark, not a minute longer. Our server was so kind! Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was their Bruschetta appetizer. The roasted garlic makes that dish exceptional along with the goat cheese! I definitely recommend that as an appetizer. They brought it out quickly, as well. Their dessert brownie was so tasty, too! Wife had the halibut fish and chips, she loves them. Halibut is so much better than the usual cod or some other whitefish. Cooked to perfection. The coleslaw is a more vinegar base than a creamy base and is so delicious. I got to eat that as the fish and chips was too much for her. She got the sweet potato fries. They were sprinkled with some kind of flavoring and when dipped in their special sauce, the taste is spectacular. There is a spicy flavor I couldn't place, but it isnt a 'hot' spice but is definitely not a bland flavor. More of a savory flavor than a spicy hot flavor. I had their lasagna which is the best lasagna outside of an Italian specialty restaurant that brags about real Italian cooking. This was as Italian as I gave had in the states. Plenty of meat, lots of cheese, wonderfully flavored sauce. A superb all around meal. I couldn't finish both slices of garlic toast, the lasagna was that good and very filling. Their cream soda is some of the best soda available. I have a hard time time choosing between cream soda or root beer, either one is a worthy drink to pair with either lasagna of the halibut fish and chips. Every time we go there, those are our go to choices. Usually do the one downtown but the one at Fashion Place mall is as good as the one downtown Cannot forget Courtney, our waitress. In all my years of eating out often, she is probably the best waitress I can remember. It's pretty hard to impress me that much, but she did. There is absolutely nothing she could have done better. Was visiting from Dallas and wanted to find a place with good beer and food and I think we found a great place. Sat at the bar for a late lunch and knocked back a few beers and a pizza. Beer prices are great, 17oz beers for about $8 which is a lot cheaper than other places and I loved the beers that I got. There's options for everyone. Pizza was really good as well. Service was great, bartender was attentive and the pizza came out surprisingly fast. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in SLC again. read more

Go there now. I wish they had the chicken pot pie more often as they do something with the crust that has it melting in your mouth. I have been to both locations and they each have their up sides. The servers are always quick to greet you and very friendly. The Kimball Junction location is cozy and near the outlets. The Murray location has more space and is attached to the mall. I don't drink but I have been several times with friends and they enjoy the variety on tap and locally brewed. read more

I'm out in SLC visiting my best friend and we went to Red Rock before going to the Jazz game and it was great! I'm normally a picky beer drinker, but we ordered a pitcher of their Hefeweizen (for only $12.50!) and it was delicious!! My Cobb salad was huge and I really enjoyed it. We also got a pepperoni pizza which was pretty standard, but very good and a perfect size for one person or maybe I just eat a lot. Ok. If I had known it only had 3.6 stars I wouldn't even have given it a second look but we were at the mall and it was handy. That being said, the food was great. I had the spaghetti, don't judge me, and my wife had the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and the veggies are sautéed in a butter sauce. They tasted awesome. The spaghetti has a house made sauce that was some of the best I've had. The only issue was the desserts. The peach cobbler was mostly bread but still tasted OK and the bread pudding just had a kind of a weird taste to it and was not good. Other than those. First time at this location. Came on a Friday during dinner rush. Wait was 40 min but completely worth it. We had a terrific waitress. Table of 5 and each of us were raving about the food. Everyone ordered different items and everything looked amazing. I ordered the artichoke pizza, minus mushrooms and it is my new favorite pizza. We even ordered dessert. I tried creme brûlée for the first time. Not trying it before, makes it so I dont have anything to compare it to but it was absolutely delicious to the last bite. I wanted to lick the bowl lol. The purpose of this review Is to write about fashion place, the Red Rock location situated in the middle of the Salt Lake Valley. Fashion place mall is an enclosed shopping mall anchored by Dillards, Nordstrom and the Container store. With all that shopping going on, you'll find Red Rock is a terrific place to get off your feet and enjoy a good meal and a few beers. Offering a nice selection of craft brews, try to drink your way from light to dark and you'll be having a fun post shopping experience. My choice is chicken Parmigiana and a German style Hefeweizen. There is a sampler platter of beers so you can run the spectrum of their offerings. The servers are always attentive and helpful with a recommendation. Another nice perk of dining at Red Rock is free valet parking with your meal. This parking tip alone is worth a fortune during the peak shopping season. Clean and well-kept, the decor is brewpub contemporary - they've done a nice job the bathroom fixtures. There are seating options at the bar, high-top tables or even window seats and watch the shoppers go by. Most people don't opt for dessert after drinking beer but I must say if you have the family with you, they might enjoy one of their killer pieces of cake. Tried Red Rock today for the first time with a curbside pickup. Ordered online, which was fabulous. It was quite simply the best food I've had in a long time. There were three of us who ordered today. Here are the deets: 1. Goat cheese and pear salad, extra goat cheese, plus chicken. "Best salad I've ever had in my life." Will order again and again. 2. Patty melt and onion rings. "Patty melt was good. Didn't knock my socks off, but was good. Loved their onion rings." 3. I had the Kobe beef burger with horseradish mashed potatoes and onion rings. I also had the onion soup. The onion soup is hands down the best I've ever had in my life. Highly, highly recommend. The onions rings are huge and the breading is crisp. The Kobe beef burger is good. Service was great. I got a confirmation email for my order, then another email saying when it would be ready for pickup. I called when I arrived and a cheerful person answered the phone and said our order would be right out, which it was. I was very pleased with my experience from start to finish. I was so excited to go back here once more... I've been a devout fan of Red Rock and their beers, but each time we've gone since Covid has been dismal and depressing. Last summer a gloom hung over the restaurant and it remains. They've got large ugly signs up saying no waiting inside and we just waited for a few minutes to even see a hostess. None came. The tables were sparsely seated and the vibe is just very much "we hate our customers, get the eff out." This is how it is even once you've been seated and the servers come around. Grumpy af. We dedicated ourselves to order take out during Covid and supporting them and for what? So they can hang onto the fear and make everyone feel like life is crap when we put the effort into continuing to support them? No thanks. People go out to enjoy the vibe and ambiance. Red Rock used to have this down. They're out of touch with their audience and I'll not be going back. Alright, it's important that I let you know mimosas are only 2 dollars on Sunday for brunch. It was quite busy for a Sunday morning, thought everyone would be sleeping in. The food was okay in my opinion. I tried the avocado toast.. because I'm basic. But just like any other avocado toast it was good. Just squeeze a little bit of lemon juice on it to make it less basic. I also tried their soup of the day which was white bean and chicken..it was okay. It tastes exactly what it sounds like! And for my entree I got a half warm shrimp salad. I loved the creamy lemon dressing in it and how they incorporated grapefruit and sweet potatoes to give it some different flavor. Meager serving, at best,the calamari was over cooked and tasted dehydrated. Such a disappointment. And to top it off as we left, the table next to us had just gotten their order of calamari. Double the serving! And liked fresh and plump not over cooked. The rest of our order was disappointing as well. While we watched others, who were seated after us get their orders, we waited. The waitress excuse, "they overcooked my steak salad and were redoing it" meanwhile the rest of the order waited...and came to our table cold or lukewarm. The French fries, overcooked and now cold were hard and not eatable, rotisserie chicken looked shriveled and cold. My steak salad was decent,the steak was cooked medium rare, to my asking, but luke warm and the fat starting to congeal on the surface of the steak. Overall, a one star. You will not forget their beer names as they have them in forms of art everywhere; banners from the ceiling, wood boards with the names, and large squares high on the wall. Food Drinks - I had the White Rainbow, a white IPA with a little Belgian bite to the IPA. Dinner - I went with short rib sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was an opened face sandwich which I liked. The meat was covered with small arugula leafs toasted in a light dressing. The meat was really tender, cooked perfectly. Service - Our waitress was a little sassy which was great. I showed her the 10% off with the Yelp check in and forgot about it. She asked I saw the discount on the bill, which missed. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. One person's food came out 15 mins later than the others -- we had a party of 5, so it was a little frustrating because our group was average size. Red Rock is MY place (see what i did there?) Alright those of you who are still with me, Red Rock is a great little pub with a wonderful selection of brews (personal favorite is Marvella) throw in $2 Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's on a Sunday and i'm in! The food here can be pretty hit and miss. However, I really enjoy their salad options such as the Warm Goat Cheese Salad which is served with pears and a delicious baked Goat cheese that is crusted in bread crumbs. Another big winner is the Chili Glazed Shrimp Salad a Siracha(yum) honey(yum) glazed shrimp with fresh mangoes and watermelon radish. I also have tried their Onion Rings and I've never seen such huge onion rings in my entire life, I literally thought they were giant donuts when they came out. And finally the service, on multiple trips they've left a little to be desired but they are usually really busy so I've cut them some slack. All in all a real winner for Sunday brunch for me. read more

I normally have the Red Rock Burger, but opted for the Turkey BBQ Burger. It was surprisingly good. Great flavor and moist meat. The spiral cut fries were thick and crispy and the jalapeño jack on the burger was amazing. Being that it is a brewery, I was astonished that I was not asked if I was interested in a beer - especially since I was looking at the beer menu. I wasn't particularly feeling a beer on a Friday afternoon, but that questioning might have made me consider one. It didn't seem busy at all, but the waiter didn't stop by much, or ask how things were. Outside of that, this place is always a great experience, and the food is really good. We have been here a few times. All of them pretty good visit. Our last visit was horrible and was for a birthday, the manager was amazing though and invited us back to try it again. That was this visit. Deet was our server, and he was amazing!! He was so attentive without being annoying and hovering. He just knew. He always had our drinks filled. He didn't rush us. Just had everything spot on. I would definitely request to sit in his section next time. We started off with the brushetta, which was perfect! I ordered the Halibut and chips, My favorite item here. With the Onion rings (first time) delisious!! My husband got the Cuban sandwich and sweet potato fries. He couldn't eat more then two bites of the sandwich. He said it pickles and onions had a very different taste then a traditional Cuban. The amazing Deet noticed this and removed it from our bill. He seriously made evening. We definitely will be back very soon. I am so glad we gave this restaurant another shot. It is my favorite place right now. read more
