Went in for initial checkup after going in a week earlier to schedule an appointment. When people say not all companies are the same, you can echo that in finding a good dentist. The receptionist to the xrays assistant was pleasant. They take the pictures where you can see them in the monitor in front of you while it is happening. When the dentist came in, he was engaged, asked questions, did the exam. Followed up with treatment plan. While explaining that, he referred back to the pictures to help me understand what he was talking about. I left here feeling optimistic about getting my mouth healthy again. I sent a request for an appointment and they declare that they don't treat this. I ask about their website page (they have a couple locations, maybe I need to select a different office) and they say the webpage "just gives information regarding it but we don't actually treat it unfortunately". If I could give 0 stars, I would. While I had no issues with the actual performed dental work, billing was a nightmare. Billing issues seem to be a pretty consistent issue in the reviews. With that said, I had work done after I received my explanation of benefits and my out of pocket costs. My out of pocket costs were pretty substantial, however, I elected to go through with it because we need our teeth. A year or so after I received a call about a bad billing error on their part and that I owe 700+ more dollars. I looked into my legal options because I felt this was absurd and found out I would be responsible regardless of their error. This all took place around November of last year. I then explained to them that my benefits would reset on July because my job exists on the academic calendar and would like to pay them from HSA. The billing person and I went back and forth over this, me explaining to them that a little grace is the bare minimum given their screw up shouldn't hinder my financial planning, until the Dr. gave her permission to wait on the payment. July just came and I happened to be out of country, which I explained I will handle the payment the moment I got back to the US, as I did not have my card on me. The self righteous, "we will send this to collections" email was the last straw, as I have always been upfront, communicative, and paid what I owe. While the billing person apologized for a disrespectful tone, I would think treating customers (past or present) that they wronged is the bare minimum. Anyway, I arrived back, called the office to settle the bill, and was sent to voicemail and haven't heard back since. The Dr. was great, billing was/is terrible. I got stabbed a couple twice on my cheek by Dr. Booker's while he was working on my teeth. While on the chair l had lots of water draining behind my cheek and neck, and twice Dr. Booker's fingers slipped injured my cheek with his spiky tool. He didn't say anything but when l got home l felt it as the anesthetic had worn-out. Overall the office is nice but l will not have my fine dentistry done here. Only for cleaning. read more

It's sad to say this, but ... not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES my husband and I had to pay around $130 for our cleanings because they were scheduled /coded incorrectly. This last time I called before the cleaning and pointed out the it was only four months since my previous cleaning, and we got dinged the previous times because the insurance said they need to be six months apart. I was treated like a moron. I was told "All insurance resets in January." I brought up the previous problems again, and again (after a deep sigh) I was told that they dealt with my insurance (a supper common one) all the time, and of course she knew what she was talking about. We went back and forth around 5 times, and while she didn't actually call me an idiot, her attitude spoke volumes. I kept the appointment, and guess who got hit with a bill. Yep. So I called and asked them to fix the problem. They said they needed to research it, and she'd call me back. A week later, and still nothing. My husband decided to call and they gave him the run around as well. He finally had to go into the office, and he went ahead and paid the bill, even though we weren't the ones at fault. I just canceled my next cleaning, and will be finding a new dentist. Dr. McCaffrey is great, as well as my hygienist Michelle but if I have to pay for my appointments because the front desk lies and tries to back pedal, I'd rather take my business somewhere they'll appreciate my loyalty. (My husband, mother in law and I had been going there since 2015, and between us had thousands of dollars of dental work.) I'm the one who recommended the office to them to begin with. The old staff was great, but the new people suck. I'm not sure why they turned over their old staff, but I think it's going to cost them in the long run. read more

I had two porcelain crowns put in all within the same day. The procedure took about three hours and my mouth felt fine after leaving. I have been going to the dentist for over 10 years now and it's always been very accommodating and professional. The staff is very knowledgeable and ready to answer all your questions. Uh, who hates the dentist as much as me? I always always dread going to the dentist and since my other dentist was across town and not on my insurance plan I had to find a new one. My husband had started going to Dr. McCaffrey and so I said alright I will go too. The office is your general dentist office located in a business office complex. I've never had a problem finding parking so that's a plus. The staff is nice. I believe there's 2 dental hygienists and you see the same one every time you go back. I've met my hygienist once out of the 2-3 times I've been back but the temp is always nice as well. I definitely prefer Melissa though who is easy to talk to and since we both have kids around the same age it is easy to just talk about that. Dr. McCaffrey is also really cool. I had a tooth problem and he referred me to an oral surgeon to perform the extraction. However, he does have a machine that makes the crown that same day so that's pretty nifty. Overall, I find it as ok as a dental visit can go. Candace the office manager is pretty easy to talk to and explains your benefits well. read more

I usually post positive reviews but can't this time. Moved to Vegas and chipped a tooth. Dr. Booker was great and fixed me up. Hygienist for quarterly cleanings were also fantastic. Then, one day, saw Dr McCaffrey for my annual. Recommended I see a specialist for a root canal and possible tooth removal. He said a permanent filling would be put in after root canal..if tooth was still good. Went to specialist who said root canal was preventative but not necessary and no to the tooth removal. Had root canal done so as not to have problems pop up while traveling. He too said permanent filling in 2 weeks. Went back to McCaffrey, who before even looking at the tooth, said..crown. I objected and he did a permanent filling ( $300+ versus $1700+). I should have walked away then. Today, I showed up for my quarterly cleaning and am told it'll include x-rays...$280. I explain it hasn't been a year since previous xrays and I scheduled only a cleaning ( now $210). Cleanings always took 30 minutes but today they needed 45 to 60 minutes for exam and x-rays...that were not yet due. I hadn't scheduled for that and had another appointment at 11. They said they couldn't do just a cleaning and could reschedule me but with a $50 late cancelation fee for today!!! I walked out. Sadly, No idea what's going on with them but I feel like I'm at a car dealership instead of a dentist office. Lots of dentists to choose from in Vegas. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I learned the hard way. The look to rip you off and squeeze every dollar they can off you. Hustle you into refilling old fillings and even talking you into expensive fluoride treatments that aren't needed. They told me a price for a cleaning, I paid it. Came back again, they said I owed $120 more. Talked to the insurance company, they overcharged me on EVERY procedure they offered, breaking their contract with my insurance company. Absolutely horrible and morally wrong. "Hey get this procedure done, it costs "$250"...show up next appointment , "oh, you oh us $120 more, your insurance didn't cover it, sorry!" Then the hygienist told me she could only do half of my mouth..... she asked left or right. That's crazy to me. I said just do the whole bottom if you don't have time for both. The hygienists are outstanding as his dental assistant. However, I must concur with Christy R below in her assessment of the front office staff. Horrible is being too kind. I have been receiving dental care since the 70's. I stay on top of my oral hygiene so I am not new to how things work usually you go in to a new facility get all of your x-rays examines and your provided with a treatment plan most offices tell you what your portion of the bill is even before they take your x-rays. Anyway I receive my treatment plan I meet with the biller I assume is the title of this person who goes over the plan tells me what my portion of the bill is going to be after insurance and I pay that in advance go in get the treatment and leave thinking everything is OK. Wrong! A couple months later when it's time for my follow up I get this text stating my visit for a cleaning is going to be like $300 I can't remember the exact amount but it was ridiculous- and the text also states that my insurance company had not paid for my last visit so of course I'm shocked like that's impossible I normally pay no more than $50 if that much for a cleaning- still shocked- so the next text states they sent the payments to me and I'm like why on earth would they do that? Then all of a sudden it's revealed that that's how they handle out of network payments- now my head is about to explode! What? Are you kidding me- aren't they supposed to tell you this upfront? And what fees were you charging that I prepaid for prior to agreeing to have these services performed? So now I have a $1600 bill on top of the $1100 that I already paid for a crown and 2 fillings!! Are you serious? And to top it all off now they are trying to act like I'm not trying to pay my bill. Excuse me but if your staff had done their job correctly and checked the insurance like they were supposed to... so we're just supposed to accept this borderline Scammer type behavior? To be fair, I don't write reviews while upset. I visited this practice in Fall 2019. I was in for a cleaning and left with my wallet about $1500 lighter, including a new $25 tube of toothpaste. I wasn't happy but figured since I had not been to the dentist in over a year, I must need all this. Fast forward a year and I am back for a cleaning in September 2020. The front desk lady placed a bill across the counter prior to me being called back and asked for a signature. The bill was over $300 and had many other services in addition to a cleaning, which was a whopping $118. I told her I was only here for a cleaning. Her response was that I needed an exam, more x-rays, some other things that were on the bill she presented me. When I refused she said it was mandatory every 18 months. I mentioned that I was in the practice less than 12 months ago and had a ton of work done, x-rays, treatments, everything they suggested. Against my better judgement I waited to be called back for my cleaning. Once called back, before I could even get in the chair, the hygienist started to try to convince me that I needed the extras. I think my mouth dropped open. I have never been to such a high pressure sales tactic in a medical facility. I have no doubt had I agreed to their $300+ bill they would have added more on after the hygienist started, just like the last (first) time I was in the practice. I left and we have found a new dentist now. read more

Just had my first trip over to Red Rock Dental and it was awesome. I know, I know "How can a dentist trip be awesome?" Its easy... the staff is truly top notch. From the moment you walk in, everyone from Doc McCaffrey to the receptionist are friendly and informative. I've never had such an interactive session with a dentist. X-rays were explained thoroughly, preventative techniques were not just instructed to be done but rather they were shown WHY its important to utilize those techniques and care was given at every turn to make sure I was comfortable. I've had a handful of dentists in my life and I've thought they were all very good. The team at Red Rock Dental however is in a league of their own however. And not to be understated is that the office runs on time! An 11:00am appointment means you are seen by the Doc or the hygienist at 11:00am. I hate when I have an appointment and I still end up sitting around for what seems like an eternity. Red Rock Dental values your time and makes every effort to run an efficient ship. I'll be back for sure....but lets hope its just for my regularly scheduled cleanup only! read more

It only took me 5 years to find a dental practice that provides impeccable service. I had Jean as my hygienist and I have never had a thorough cleaning as she provided. She has the skills you need in order to give you a long-lasting healthy smile. I take good care of my teeth (well at least that's what I've been told) and I want to have them as long as possible. I love to eat so how else am I going to enjoy food without my pearly whites! Dr. McCaffrey was really nice and very thorough as well in his assessment and I would be happy to have him as my dentist for the rest of my life. Haha! Or at least until I move... If you're the type that has high standards and want to spend your hard-earned money on quality workmanship and exemplary customer service go to Red Rock Dental! We've been coming to Red Rock dental for a few years. We love Dr.McCaffrey as well as all the hygienist but after having multiple issues with billing and the office staff not understanding insurance; it's just not worth it anymore. Even when asking for a pre-authorization, they still cannot figure out if any amounts are due. We've been double billed on multiple occasions, not billed when we knew we owed, or billed for something when they didn't run it through both insurances properly. We've asked for explanations with supporting documents and it takes forever to get a callback. It takes multiple calls for answers, and when you do get one, it's ohhh "call your insurance", "you just owe it" or "we made a mistake". Sadly they're incompetent of their jobs and it's truly reflecting poorly on the practice Dr.MCaffrey has built; which is awful because he is one of the best. For the price you pay to see Dr.McCaffrey, these issues should not be a consistent problem. I'd rather spend the high price on a practice that has knowledgeable billing staff or at least a staff that can communicate. read more
