I wish I could give negative stars. I scheduled a simple routine cleaning at Canyon Pointe Dental Group after moving to the area, and it turned into the worst dental experience I've ever had. I waited almost an hour just to be called back, only to be taken for multiple X‑rays and scans without any clear confirmation of insurance coverage. I later confirmed that at least one of these X‑rays was not covered, and the claim already appeared on my insurance portal. When Dr. Raunak Singh finally came in, I expected my cleaning. Instead, he told me I "needed" a laser procedure -- something no dentist has ever presented to me as mandatory. After that, I was left waiting another 30 minutes, only to be told they wouldn't do my cleaning because they couldn't verify insurance coverage for the laser treatment I never asked for. I requested just the regular cleaning, and they still refused. I was told I'd get a call the next day with coverage details or pricing. It has now been three days, no call, no explanation but they already submitted claims for the unnecessary X‑rays. I spent nearly two hours there and left without the basic cleaning I came for. I also saw two other patients complaining about long wait times and being forgotten. This office is disorganized, unprofessional, and feels predatory. Stay far away, the entire experience felt like a scam. read more

0 Stars Absolutely unacceptable experience at Canyon Pointe Dental Group I had a 5:30 PM appointment on 03/17/2025, arrived early at 5:15 PM, and was left waiting until 7:15 PM--only to be told to come back the next day at 6 PM. After all that, I didn't even get my teeth cleaned! This office has zero respect for patients' time. Long wait times like this ruin a practice's reputation and destroy patient trust. If you value your time and want professional service, DO NOT waste your time here. I've also requested that they destroy all my records and not charge my insurance--I wouldn't trust them with my care ever again. I used to go to Canyon Pointe Dental (for over 7 years), but found another dentist office. Unfortunately, CPD has gone downhill over the years. Possibly new management or ownership? Not sure , but after two more friends had an issue with them, it should've been a wake up call for me. I continued to give them chances. They just lost two more people I know as clients. CANYON POINTE DENTAL GROUP I can't give this place a 0 since it won't take the review. Was told by MD that I needed a crown for a cracked tooth that occurred from my old fillings expanding. Suggested I do other 4 surrounding the 'bad' one. Did 3 lowers to begin treatment. Had to return to office 3 more times within 10 days of initial placement. Was then suggested that I do the 2 upper to 'help with the bite adjustment'. So, 2 now I have 5 total crowns done by same MD. Emailed MD twice to let him know that I was still having continued pain & discomfort even from the initial treatment. He did not read both! I walked into office 26 days from initial tx to get owner or another MD's help/opinion. Scheduled w/owner of practice who cxld d/t 'emergency' and saw another provider. It was determined that there were 'concerns' with previous work via obvious X-ray images, so she had me schedule another appt 1 week later. (mind you through all of this, I am still having lots of pain and sensitivity!) This second provider adjusted 3 of the crowns and removed 2 & placed a temporary one-piece over the ones she was going to re-do but wanted to see if there were other issues like possibly needing a root canal! Placed on a Thursday, said to call back on Monday to see how it was over the weekend. Again, no relief w/continued symptoms and more intense pain & sensitivity! Made call on Monday with concerns and suggested to get an Endodontist consult. While this was being scheduled for the next day, I got a 2nd and 3rd opinion at my own expense. Went ahead and did Endodontist consult and was told that doesn't seem necessary at this time since I've had all this (crappy) work done, my mouth is still in the process of trying to heal! Hard to determine but additional X-rays were good. Met w/owner & 2nd provider after consult and told them that I will not be continuing any treatment with them! Explained I got other opinions and was told that the work was very poor and most likely the cause of all my suffering! ON TOP OF ALL THIS, the billing staff told me that I was within my 'window' for treatment to be covered by my insurance, which was not the case! When I called my insurance to verify, they confirmed that all my claims were DENIED! When I told the office that I will NOT be responsible for that since they told me it was good, they ended up eating those costs. END RESULT - they didn't once take any responsibility for their shitty work or make any apologies except to say, 'with any procedures come risks!' They refunded me all charges minus the 3 crowns that were 'ok' & still in my mouth. Fast forward to my NEW dental office who is awesome, 6 weeks & 4 days after initial treatment ... they removed the temporary and showed me the horrible work that was done! They took great care of me and I felt comfortable the whole time while they explained each step they were doing and always asked if I had questions. Needless to say that they FIXED the bad teeth/temporary and I felt immediate relief!!! I am still awaiting delivery of my 2 new crowns but they do it 'old school' where impressions are taken and sent out. CPDG used the Cerec method which I don't recommend as it is not as precise & accurate as a lab doing it. I have filed a complaint with my dental insurance and will NOT be making any further payments to this practice although they are still billing me! I don't care if they take me to collections because I feel that they should just write it all off for my time that I had to go back to them (9 total visits), pain & suffering! If you are looking for a caring, experienced staff, who will address your concerns, explain things in lamen terms for you to understand and hear you out, it is NOT CANYON POINTE DENTAL GROUP! I called to make an appointment for a cleaning and Amanda was beyond helpful and accommodating with my schedule. She was able to get me in the same week and explained my insurance coverage while on the phone ! How amazing is that !!! When I arrived to my appointment the office was clean and festive- my little one loved all the decorations. My dental assistant Val brought me back and was very good at taking my X-rays - I am not the easiest patient when it comes to taking x-rays! She was beyond kind and made me feel comfortable with my whole experience. She even brought me a blanket because I was freezing! Talk about taking care of your patients! Dr. Hernandez was very thorough in her explanation and exam. I felt very comfortable with her recommendations for my dental plan! Now the cherry on top to this amazing visit was Jennifer! She was able to set me up with affordable payment arrangements and was genuinely understanding to my current situation. She was able to explain future pricing and different financial options available with their office! I will definitely be coming back here! read more

I brought my kids here a few months ago. My kids are dual insured. I went in simply wanting their teeth, cleaned and to check and see if they have any cavities. The only thing they were worried about the whole visit is the work The kids need done and how much it would cost and how I was going to pay for it. They brought a woman into the treatment area with me who went over pricing and had me apply for some assistance that I was denied for. the woman said OK then I will take you upfront and she attempted to check me out. I asked don't my kids get their teeth cleaned? They said let them check they did a quick two second cleaning barely did anything to my kids teeth. Mind you our insurance should cover a good cleaning. And as for my care they looked in my mouth and told me that I needed a deep cleaning and told me how much this would cost. I got half of my teeth cleaned for this price and never showed up for the second half. I then went to absolute dental instead and they told me that I did not need a deep cleaning I only needed a regular clean which was covered by my insurance . they also got all of the work done for myself and my kids with no out-of-pocket for my kids and mine costing a quarter of what they were trying to charge me. Please be aware of this place. They are just money hungry. but they do offer you gift cards for a five star review. read more

Really unorganized. Called to make an appointment and they "changed systems" and their records were off by a year for my last visit. Was put on hold before I hung up and called somewhere else. When I came in for an initial visit they were so behind that every stage of the process from xrays to the exam to just "sitting there" was a least a half hour waiting in a room. I was moved from room to room to room and just "left there." Was quoted over $500 for a "deep cleaning" and I was able to do it at another practice for a fraction of that. read more

Really liked this place when I first moved to the area. My last two appts really proved to me they are not the same. My dentist is gone with no notification. You have to have trust with your dentist. You can't just swap out someone I trust with someone I don't. The last appt I had they tried to get me to pay for four services I know I don't need. They came in as a group of four while in chair with glasses and bib still. I felt really cornered and upset when I left. They are just money hungry and want to bill my insurance for all they can get. I had to have a tooth taken out and they gave me so much novicane that it affected a nerve in my Tongue. So I did not go back for 2 years.. now I tried again with this place for my wife's crown they put in, that keeps falling out. She is pregnant and went in at 8am and is still waiting for the work to be done and its now 11 am... keep in mind she has not eatin.. at 10 am asked doc how long.. he said 30 or 40 min.. go in after 40 min and they r still saying 20 to 30 more min.. no compassion with his blank stare. Should have read the reviews before I went. More like a used car lot than a dentist. They will try to pressure you to agree to unnecessary procedures that are not covered by insurance and even refuse to perform the covered services (basic cleaning) if you decline. Avoid at all costs. read more

Horrible experience. The dentist was far too worried about taking personal calls. Left me multiple times. She did apologize but told me she was working on a business deal to open her own office and that's why she kept taking the calls. The assistant slammed things around in my mouth making it uncomfortable. I was there for 6 hours as they custom made a crown that had to be reworked multiple times. It didn't fit after all that and caused sever pain. I went back a week later and they had to wait for another week for swelling to subside. The next dentist couldn't believe it was so ill fitted and he eventually got it correct. I only went in for a new patient checkup and got suckers into a new crown to replace one that fit great and was causing me no issues. I left in pain for a month. Fast forward 4-5 months and they calll me wanting me to pay an extra $500 plus because they misquoted me pricing from insurance. So now, I have gone in for check up, leave in pain for a month and out over $1200 ..... do not go here read more

The staff was great with communication! Ms. Crystal kept in touch with me several days before my oral surgery. Dr. Kim is the oral surgeon DMD and he was awesome! When he says do not drink or eat, it's including water as well.. lol He is very direct but he knows what he is doing for sure. You definitely are in good hands. His team Luisa and Diana were the best and most caring hands down! They are a bubbly pair and made me feel comfortable! I was under deep sedation and what felt like 10 minutes was 45 minutes! I've been coming to Canyon Pointe Dental for like 10 years. I always see Dr. Shantrestani. Honestly he is the most sympathetic, patient, caring, and knowledgeable dentist I know!! The office manager Cindy, is always accommodating and has helped me in more ways then one. Dr. Shantrestani has a couple of locations in Las Vegas and Reno. I will give 2 stars since the receptionists were sweet yet scatterbrained. They were supposed to send some info on insurance information for a cleaning and never did. Truly, I have never had such a thoroughly incompetent experience at any medical office. - the manager at the time called me and left a detailed message about someone else's dental care - I was told my Invisalign treatment would be paused while I was suffering from severe HG while pregnant - no one initiated that pause -on that note, Amanda promised I would not have to pay another cent given my condition. Somehow I ended up being charged an unreasonable amount to reopen my case (sorry for being sick?) -I was called into the office to start Invisalign treatment - whoops guess they forgot to check if the trays had actually arrived -when I found a new office and formally fired Canyon Pointe, they sent me letter after letter saying I would no longer be considered a patient if I didn't book an appointment. This is the equivalent of "you can't quit! You're fired!" -I've referred many people to this clinic over the years and have apologized to every single one. Most have now found better care. -On a positive note, Cindy is an absolute ROCKSTAR and I hope you all recognize what an asset she is to your practice. Please consider promoting her. Not one employee came out and explained the delay or even acknowledged I was waiting. This is my last straw with this group. Doctor told me I must have a deep cleaning and two fillings extracted and replaced. My portion, after Delta Dental insurance applied was over $2000.00. I saught a second opinion. WOW!!! This dentistry is probably one of the most caring, proficient and professional office's that I ever encountered. I broke my crown while in Vegas on a Sunday called the office on Monday. The office got me in at the earliest convenient time which was in the morning and took care of the situation..From the receptionist to the tech and mainly the dentist they provided a pleasurable and and comforting environment. After paying for 4 veneers on my front teeth, several of them kept falling off. After one fell off the second time, I visited the office to see if I could get it fixed. I was told it was not an emergency (my front tooth) and I was not given temporary glue. They gave me an appointment for the next morning. However, it was too late. I ended up swallowing the veneer. The staff the next morning was extremely snarky. I left this practice to go to RedRock Dental. My experience there has been 500% better! read more

Not good customer service. Walked in my first time there and three people were sitting in the front reception area. I was the first patient in that morning. No one greeted me no one looked up and said anything welcoming. I knew I needed to check in so I walked closer to the desk and stood in front of one of the people. They did not look up at me they did not acknowledge me. I said I'm here for an appointment I need to check in with someone right? Who do I check in with? One of them answered me you can check in with anyone of us. The individual that checked me in never looked up never said welcome to the office never asked me how I was today no greeting whatsoever. Very poor customer service. The outer office looked old and dark and shabby, a surprise since this office is located in the heart of Summerlin which is a fairly upscale neighborhood. I was taken back for x-rays. They had the old fashion type of x-rays where they put the film in your mouth attached to some plastic thing that you have to bite down on. I asked him why they didn't have a new digital x-ray machine as was advertised on their website and on hold when you called them. She pointed out a machine and said it was installed yesterday but she didn't know how to use it. Wow! Those machines have been around a long time and they are still state of the art but she was x-ray my teeth the old fashion way. When I made the appointment I told them that I had issues about dealing with fear of dentistry. I was hoping to find a dentist that would make me feel comfortable. They put me with an appointment on a young female dentist Who was nice enough but was obviously going by the script asking me why I was afraid of the dentist. When I started to tell her I got a little emotional and she looked away and change the subject right away. That's when I felt like this was something she had to do because it was a dental office policy and not really something that she cared about. After she left someone else came in the room and told me she was leaving on maternity leave soon. Didn't seem like a very smart thing to put a new patient with a dentist who's leaving soon. Especially since I said I was dealing with fear of a dentist and wanting to build a relationship. By the way, the exam chair was from the 1980s, just like their dental x-rays. It had a small tear in it and stuffing was coming up through it. Again this did not feel like a Summerlin dental office at all. It felt like something that would be in the pour part of town. The exam room needed paint, in a very serious way. My daughter noticed it as well. I thought I would meet with someone to go over my treatment plan at cost. They said they would email it to me. Couple of hours later they finally emailed me, but I had trouble opening up what they sent me. I emailed back several times asking them to call me, they never did they just kept emailing me to try this link which was the same one. Later on they never called back to see if I was able to open it. The customer service in this place is terrible. It's probably like great clips is for hair. Just a waystation for young dentist while they save enough money to open their own place. All in all not a terrible experience but not when I was to repeat. this place gave me a life trauma. Its like a nightmare haunts me every time I think of this experience. ...strongly not recommend going there for ortho.You will end up cost more. Its not a reliable office at all, in my opinion. During my past 2.5 years ortho experience,they changed 3 docs (one is substitute ). Current new one Hmid Pour is the most irresponsible,unprofessional one I have ever seen! After the previous orthodantics kayla Bateman did the last adjustment before she left, my teeth got bad , especially the biting(top and bottom back teeth are not touching on my right side, so two sides are not even). I was hoping the new doc to fix it. Unfortunately, he simply cut my treament off even when my teeth were still moving(see pic below). As everyone knows, Biting is the very first and most important thing for a doc to check and he just ignored it. Even though I kept talking about this problem with him, he insisted on ending my treatment with some ridiculous reason with which he could not even convince himself! like ,"the teeth will move itself in the retainer". then whats the point of wearing retainer ?! Afterwards I went to another two offices which have been practicing for over 20years to get a second opinion. They were all shocked that he left me like that. Both of them suggested me to go back to talk to him again. Because it is unfinished work! But even with the x-ray pic that clearly shows the big space in between my top and bottom teeth. He still kept denying : "the biting will improve itself." What a funny joke! The manager Crystal doesn't really help,like always(impatient and "forgetful": I asked her to email me the X-ray pic of my teeth THREE times and she never did! hehe...) Anyway,I m done with this orthodontist. Based on his poor knowledge and work ethics, you wont risk trusting him to work on your teeth. So me and my husband decided to find another place to fix. On the day they scheduled me to remove the braces, what made me shocked again is they tricked me to sign the final deband paper in a rush AFTER they removed the braces!(check pic below) The final deband paper is supposed to be signed BEFORE instead and it states : "I'm satisfied with current position of my teeth and are ready to remove the braces .... " because they know I was NOT happy with the result, they did it this way. What a low class ,disgraceful way to do things. Seriously?! They could simply tell me they cant remove it without my signing it and I would do it since I already disappointed at the doc. I dont think an offce with integrity and dencency will ever treat customers like this ! scaring. It seems reputation means nothing here!hehe... As for the orthodontist Hamid Pour, I think you really need go back to school. not just for your limited ability(on my last day,he even wasn't familiar with using the machine to clean the glue on my teeth until the assistant reminded him), but also to improve your working ethic, especially. You may be young and inexperienced (understandable), but your constant lying, ignoring the health of the customer, making do with the things and bottom-pier service are absolutely unacceptable! God is watching us! With those poor quality, I dont see your career gonna go anywhere. I wont be surprised if you run out of business or get your self into big trouble later. at last , update my current teeth(3weeks after): because of the biting problem on my right side(top and bottom teeth still not touching), my front teeth hurt so much when I try to close my mouth, since all the pressure now goes to the front, my gum of right side become very sensitive (bleeding frequently) and I need spend 3000 to fix it for another 6 months treatment ( see pic). Well, I've been going for 6 years. Today was the last straw. The tech dropped the mouthpiece in the trash then proceeded to wipe it off with a cavi wipe, then put the plastic wrap over it. When I asked for a new one she responded with "I cleaned it". Then stuck that same hand in my mouth. When I told her I tasted the cavi wipe. She changed her gloves. Needless to say the wipe taste was in my mouth for the next 45 minutes as I waited to get my teeth cleaned. I even rinsed my mouth out with mouth wash. Then the dentist who came out to introduce herself was new. Always a new person. Every experience keeps getting worse & worse. read more

Best dentist I've ever been to. Janice Legaspi is an amazing dental hygienist who actually took the time to teach me proper flossing technique. My gum line improved significantly and it was the first time I experienced dental providers that were actually invested in my care. Front staff is always so inviting and professional.
