They feed high quality hay and make sure the horses have water morning and evening and always check on the horses throughout the day. The arenas are spacious and safe for riding or just turning out. Having young horses that need ground work done, the round pen is perfect size! I would definitely recommend Long Ears Long Walk to a friend or anyone that needs to board. I have also been able to park our horse trailer and a 34' flatbed trailer (for an additional charge) but totally worth it, this facility is well watched and gated.

The dogs were growling and barking and then both dogs charged at my neighbor! Luckily my neighbor picked up some rocks and threw them at the dogs to stop them. My neighbor and another man were able to escape without being attacked. Someone should call the police and at least make a report on this facility.

She's spicy, and I'm not even gonna lie about that. She's a rescue who looks like Disney and can sometimes act like Cujo. However, the staff here loved her, and said she'd be welcome anytime. She's not a general pop dog - she's a 1-1 kinda girl. She's loves her ball, and playing fetch and they took her out and played with her and let her chase that ball and that was all it took to win her heart. It was 7 days and $400+ but I didn't worry about her. I'm so filled with gratitude that she was safe, fed, and relatively clean after 7 days in a kennel. She's missed me and didn't let me out of sight for 24 hours after, but that's to be expected from a rescue.

While Vanessa looked over what I had packed for my dogs, I casually mentioned that my basset was pretty chunky and with kindness and grace she pointed out that the amount of sodium I was feeding her was pretty high and that maybe I should look into changing to something else. She said she believed that if I decreased the excess sodium, pretty quickly my dog would lose her water weight and gain mobility. She was right. The dogs were so happy there and I'm so happy to have found these guys! I had a very bad Rover experience and this place was ALL GOOD. I can't say enough. Love. P.S. I'm bringing them back for day visits. Because they deserve it!

This adventure begins under a gazebo in the desert mountains thirty minutes outside of Reno. It's a beautiful setting. Kathleen the wildlife expert and Falconer is absolutely brilliant. She's easy going, articulate, and totally in tune with the animals. You get a feeling of awe in the close proximity to the birds. It's a magical experience to see and learn about them up close. Kathleen has dedicated her life to this endeavor and it shows. The birds are beautifully cared for. I got to wear the leather glove and have a Harris's Hawk swoop down on my wrist, take a treat and fly away. I got to see a giant Eurasian Owl and have her sit on my gloved wrist. We had the unexpected pleasure of seeing an 8 week old baby Owl and pet his downy feathers. This was a soul fulfilling day and I can't stop thinking about it. Experiences like this are a gift to be cherished. I cannot recommend this enough! Thank you, Kathleen!! The best day ever!

After checking out Pyramid Lake, we came across this wild horse and burro adoption center. I wanted…read moreto check it out so we stopped. My first horse was a beautiful mustang so this breed is particularly important to me. The mustang represents Nevada and our wide open spaces. Many are free and on open range. Unfortunately, there is quite an over population which means many of these animals have to be rounded up and are available for adoption. This center is the largest BLM preparation and adoption facility in the country. Here is where many of these animals wild horses and Burros are brought and prepared for adoption not just from Nevada but other surrounding states. Adoptions are by appointment only. Requirements include you must be 18 years old, adopted animal must remain in the US until it is titled, applicant cannot have any convictions of inhumane treatment of animals, applicant must provide a facility for the animal to have food, water and shelter. There are other rules you must comply with listed on their website. The minimum adoption fee is $25. There were some real beauties in the corrals and I wish I could have taken them all home. I hope all these animals are adopted to good homes with loving and patient owners.
