Great food & drinks - best buffalo cauliflower I've tried. We sat and ate lunch at the bar on a Saturday afternoon. Bar tender was very nice and attentive.

Service was a little slow but I think they were running short staffed. All the outside tables were full and there was an event. Waitress said it was actually slow to average. Food was good. Though I was surprised that's the Gorgonzola burger was spicy. Didn't expect that but I enjoyed it. Juicy and flavorful. Cajun fries were good but salty. This is a solid bar and grill. Not to of the pack but by no means bad.

    Bread no clams

I ordered clansrips with french fries As you can see in the pic i got all that and there were no clams all bread disaapointing ive ordered before but this time those clams were no clams it was all bread. Coleslaw was good and french fries not worth 25$

Consider this review to be more of a 3.5 than a 3. Only reason it isn't 4 stars is because I think the interior could use some love. Thankfully everything else makes up for how it looks though. Walking in you immediately get that local tavern feel; like everyone knows each others name. Not the kind of place I would normally go but the happy hour prices were too enticing. Heaping pile of "nachos" with an amazing house made thousand island for only $6? Yes please. Mini pitchers of beer that give you at least 2.5 glasses full for only $6-$7?? How can I refuse. Service was great. Everyone was very attentive when they weren't busy chatting and hanging out with the regulars. Not saying it like it's a bad thing - you can tell people visit this place often. And I can't blame them! I wouldn't necessarily bring my wife here but it's a great place to grab some food and beer before going out or maybe a good place to visit at the end of your night. There's street parking available but if you see the gates open in the lot diagonal to the tavern you can park very easily for free there and it's a close walk across the street to get back. Recommend coming here for happy hour w the guys, I know I'll be back!

This was a big miss. Bread was old, chicken was so thin it was like Lampoons Christmas Vacation turkey, it was just crunch. The photo shows how it just disintegrated. Tried to skip the bread and eat the chicken but no, trashed. Cheese was cold and hardened to the bread.

This tavern had amazing food, music and service. It's rare to find Bottomless Brunch with a DJ! Loved the vibes the entire time, 10/10 Highly Recommend.

(Last visited 12/13/2020.) It's the weekend and we've heard some decent things about Red Rock Tavern's bottomless brunches so we had to give them a try! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: Right on the corner of Capitol Avenue and Lawrence Street is this gem. There isn't much of a parking lot that I can remember, but there is plenty of street parking if you can find a spot. Once inside the exposed interior brick walls and worn wooden floors certainly add to the tavern feel. There really isn't much to this place, but the atmosphere was AWESOME as soon as the DJ got there and started playing some music! It was hype! Service: Decent. We were sat right next to the bar (prime real estate) and whenever our cups got low they were refilled. The mimosas were a bit too orangey even though we asked numerous times for less orange juice each round. Oh well. I guess they have rules to abide by. Other than that things were straight. Food: For my brunch entrée I went with Red's Rockin' Wings. You get a choice of 9 sauces and I chose Hot & Sweet hoping to get a big of spice with a sweet finish. They were okay. They were a bit dry, a little on the small side and simply okay. I wouldn't get them again and I'd try something else. Value: $25.00 will get you endless mimosas with orange juice, pineapple juice, white cranberry juice, or pomegranate juice. Excellent choices and you can continuously switch between the varieties. My wings are $12.00 for 10 and that wasn't bad at all. In conclusion, I loved the atmosphere and energy of this place, but the food wasn't the best in my opinion. Nachovember
    Jason P.

I visited Red Rock Tavern for the first time because RRT is one of 13 honorees for CT Yelp's Nachovember. I also ordered the Dry Rub Wings. The $5 Nachovember special consisted of smaller than average fresh made triangular nachos chips, with melted cheddar and Jack cheese, black olives, pickled jalapeños, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sour cream and salsa on the side. Great yellow, red, green, black and white colors. Nice bursts of acidity and fresh flavors. HUGE portion for $5. But for the Nachovember showcase deal, I would have ordered the nachos with beef as well, but these nachos were still very good. The wings were also very good. The dry rub had a southwest or Cajun vibe. The wings were juicy and meaty and I liked the outside seasoning. Brining or some similar process would have taken the wings next level. The Tavern had a classic, but updated feel. Service was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return to check out more of the menu. Four Stars

A lavender lemon vodka drink. Deliciously served with a sugar coated lemon and a sprig of lavender.

What drew me to this location was the gluten free options on the menu. Unfortunately we did not end up eating because the waitress brought us our drinks but then never took a food order or came back over until our drinks were done. That being said, the drink I had was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was friendly. They had a bit of a dive bar vibe which I always appreciate.

I had my rehearsal dinner there.. buffet style... I was running late and wanted to set up my flowers... they immediately recognized I was running late, took my centerpieces and said "go" I will set up... needless to say, when my guests arrived they were blown away... the tables were set with linens, even accented with black (colors of my wedding) and the florals were exactly where I wanted them... they were extremely welcoming .. the food.... PHENOMENAL!! Penne a la vodka is seasoned to perfection... green beans!! Fresh and roasted to absolute deliciousness... then the chicken parm!!! My guests were raving about it... Ceaser salad and home made dressing was fantastic... such fresh, well seasoned food and a fantastic welcoming atmosphere.... Also big shout out to Chelsey (hope I spelled it correctly) the owner even comped us on the beverages... they went above and beyond and we enjoyed every minute... from the bar staff, to the wait staff to the owners.. to the food!! All top notch.. highly Recommend.... I wish I lived closer, I'd be there every other day.... Thank you again for a wonderful day.... Ps!! My son is autistic with a food aversion, when I asked for a small bowl of Mac and cheese they were more than accommodating with his request... hands down excellent service.

The atmosphere was relaxing, clean, and family-friendly. One thing that immediately stood out was the menu. It's about 10 pages long, with an incredible variety of options. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, American classics, or Mexican favorites, there's truly something for everyone. The presentation is beautiful. The drinks are garnished with fresh flowers and slices of lemon or cucumber, making them feel extra special. Even the food is served with colorful touches like a slice of orange and a strawberry on a skewer, showing they really pay attention to the details. My kids enjoyed an orange juice and an apple juice. I ordered the mango dragonfruit lemonade, and it was refreshing, flavorful, and the perfect drink for a warm day. For my meal, I had the avocado toast topped with an egg and crispy bacon. It was fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious. The boys loved their meals too. One had the chocolate chip pancakes, which were fluffy and loaded with chocolate chips, while the other had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich served with crispy home fries. They also offer a great selection of specialty waffles and pancakes, giving us plenty of reasons to come back and try something new. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the service was outstanding. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. Between the delicious food, beautiful presentation, generous portions, reasonable prices, and excellent service, this is definitely a place we'll be returning to. I highly recommend checking it out!

They have a lot of brekkie stuff--huevos rancheros, omelettes with veggies, sausage, peppers, ham, sausage, etc. Breakfast sandwiches (BEC, beans, queso, ham, turkey, avocado, cheeses). Burritos (chorizo, loaded, veggies). Appetizers, like tacos, nachos, tostadas, and more. Sandwiches (burgers, steak sandwiches). Bowls and salads (house green, classic caesar, burrito bowl). Quesadillas and wraps (turkey avocado, buffalo chicken, churrascov, burrito, chicken bacon ranch). I had the Churrasco. It had a lot of fat, but it was more steak than fat, and the fat came off easily. The meat was tender and fall apart. I ordered the fries, but got rice, and that was okay. The black beans were great. The salad was a little palate cleanser. The thing I LOVED, ADORED, would help me ignore the fact the restaurant was so cold that I had to keep my coat on and shivered throughout my stay--the drinks. They have these great fruit drinks--grilled pineapple lemonade (my choice), homemade horchata, fresh melon juice, watermelon juice, etc. My choice, the grilled pineapple lemonade--I literally sucked that stuff down. It's decent food but not the greatest. I get it, it's fine dining but not all the flavors were there. Three of us paid almost $800, so, yes, I was expecting to be blown away with my tastebuds in overdrive but my tastebuds were underwhelmed. Started off with canapés: east coast oysters (green grape granita); could've used sprinkle of salt. Beef tartar (green garlic kimchi aioli, lime, mint, anchovy breadcrumbs); needed more salt, very bland with little flavor & carrot veloute (coconut milk, red curry, cilantro, peanuts), very delicious and flavorful. 1st course: Hamachi Crudo (celery, sorrel, green apple), needed salt. 2nd course: Foie Gras Torchon (black mission fig, five spice, brioche bun). Brioche was extremely dry and cold, not buttery and soft like a brioche should be. 3rd course: Mackerel (thompcord grape, lardo, smoked yogurt); extremely fishy and unpleasant. Grapes were sweet and delicious and smoked yogurt and lardo didn't contribute anything great. 4th course: Chestnut Tortellini (browned sage butter) was great! 5th course: Dry Aged Rohan Duck Presse (beet, huckleberry, port jus) was underwhelming. Breast was cooked to right temperature but skin was super fatty and soggy. As an avid duck eater, I think a crispy skin and more seasoning in the actually meat would've been nice. It needed salt for sure to enhance the flavors but the roasted and pickled beets were delicious. The port just didn't do much for flavor and huckleberry was delicious and could've used more of it. 6th course: A5 Wagyu Ribeye (roasted daikon, black garlic bordelaise, hen of woods) very delicious in every aspect. The black garlic bordelaise brought this entire dish together with its incredible flavor! I wish the bordelaise was served with the duck as well! 7th course: Foie Gras Ice Cream & Apple Tarte. Interesting ice cream flavor by itself but eaten with the apple tarte it worked well. The tarte had crispy bits of caramel that added great texture and flavor. Ambiance is beautiful on the 20th floor overlooking Hartford. I'm sure it's beautiful during sunset. Again, I wish I was blown away like others have been. Maybe my expectations are too high, I'm not sure. I'm neutral as I am unsure if I would recommend this establishment. I do know that I wouldn't return.
