Fred and his team went above and beyond when I was planning a surprise framed photograph of my husband's car with a custom-made frame for my husband for his birthday last year! He even went and fixed some issues with the rims and added a little love note on the bottom. It came out, absolutely incredibly stunning. My husband was blown away. He had this done so quickly and he let me proof it before I picked it up and even above and beyond to wrap it with some brown paper so I could surprise him. I can't thank him enough, and I can't wait to use him for more things in future. Also, he prints up photos that I used to frame around the house here and there he takes absolute pride in his work and listens to what you want and need. I cannot recommend a photo lab more than this one!!!

I don't remember the exact day I laid my eyes on the RedRoom photo lab , but I do remember how my heart felt. It was like when Jack first laid his eyes on Rose in Titanic, or like when Cookie Monster first tried cookies , or like when Kendrick Lamar saw what the Pop out meant to LA , or like when Charlie Sheen first tried ... wait nvm that's wild! You get me though right?!? RedRoom photo lab has truly brought life to creatives from the Valley. Specifically visual creatives and photographers. This place is literally heaven to film photographers like myself, and I can't thank them enough. I ain't no Stephen Vanasco or Atiba but I be shooting shooting. I got some stripes like a Zebra! I truly wish I could just bring a mariachi band and serenade Freddie and David. Respectfully though and don't tell my girl Ive never even thought about doing that for her. But they're the Robin Hood's of Van Nuys. Literally every service Redroom Photo Lab provides is A1 from developing and scanning film, prints , frames , etc. You can literally catch me here weekly, but don't tell my Opps. I do encourage everyone to bring their film rolls here and bug Freddie and David. Make sure you leave a good impression too cause you never know when you need some film developed ASAP. Haha. Much love to all my shooters whether is film, nerf , that duck game at Chuck E. Cheese , or whatever it is. Also don't forget like Bad Bunny's album title "DeBi TiRAR MaS FOtoS" to make sure you take more photos. -Sir Charles Yelpington aka Sir Charles Filmington aka Mr.Shoot A lot aka Mr. Portra 400 aka Mr. Point and Shoot aka I'm a chill guy...

This is my second time going to Red Room Photo Lab and both times were wonderful experiences! Fred is so kind and helpful and I feel good supporting a local shop! The first time I came to develop film from a disposable camera. It was only $10 or $15 (can't remember) to get it developed and sent to you digitally. I was shocked at how fast the turn around was! It was so exciting to get my photos back. Second time I went was to get passport photos done. I was in and out so quickly and it was about $15. Super great experience and highly recommend Fred and his shop.

Only place I go to for my film development and fine art prints. They get it right every time, definitely worth the 80 mile commute.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this photo restoration studio. I first came here to…read morerestore some foundational family photos for my mom's 80th birthday, and the results were beyond anything I could have hoped for. The images that are part of our family's legacy were brought back to life with such care and beauty. I loved the work so much that I came back again to have a childhood photo restored for 11 of my aunts and uncles as a birthday gift. What he does is truly artistry. He takes his time, pours his heart and soul into every image, and you can feel how much he genuinely cares about the stories behind the photos. In a world where so much is done quickly with AI, he is one of the rare artists still doing this work with incredible skill, patience, and heart. There is something almost spiritual about walking into this place and trusting someone with your most precious family memories. This will be the only place I trust with our valuable family photos. Truly exceptional work.

The quality of their work is consistently fantastic. John clearly pays attention to the little details, the scans always come back looking beautiful, and I trust them completely with my film rolls with a process that I can't redo or recreate, precious moments. On top of that, their turnaround time is incredibly fast; they get them over to you the day of (as long as you get it to them before 3pm that day), or the next day. I've tried several other labs over the years, but I always end up coming back to this one. There's a reason they've become my go-to, even from halfway across the country. If you're looking for a film lab that combines exceptional quality, reliability, and fast service, I can't recommend them enough. Thank you John!

This was a horrible experience, as I would imagine even the business would recognize. I posted on reddit my situation about needing slides from the late 90s digitized and then some also printed for an exhibit. Reddit users suggested Valley Photo Service. I loved the idea of supporting a locally owned and seemingly historic small business. I called in late April and I confirmed that they could help my situation. A nice guy on the phone confirmed that they could do a bulk scan of my slides. I told him how they were digitized once before in 2003 but I imagine the technology had improved. He agreed that just even a bulk scan would be better than what was done back in 2003. We agreed I'd bring them in, do a bulk scan, check out the quality, and then from that bulk scan, I would pick out a dozen to print out for an upcoming exhibit. I drive in on May 1 and he is not there, but another guy is and he is very nice. He says that I should consider not doing a bulk scan but instead a higher price (per slide) flatbed scan. But we don't know if the bulk would be better or not and we're talking dozens and dozens and dozens of slides. So he suggests that at .80 per slide, we do them all bulk and check out the quality first. He says I'll get a link to check them out online when they are done. A week goes by. Another week goes by. I call and a woman says they'll get that to me. Finally I get a link and the slides look really crappy. Worse than when a bulk scan was done in 2003. How could the quality get worse? The slides have been in an archival quality box. I call and a guy says he's not sure. No one can of course confirm what the previous 2003 digitizers did; though I know they did bulk scan not flatbed. Perhaps they did some sort of "apply to all" adjustment of a filter or something? Either way, they say that they'll have someone call me back to think of a path forward. A week goes by. I then call and get the man who owns or manages the place. Very nice and attempts to help. I express my frustration about the time it's taking and that I have to keep calling them, seeing as I already paid. He said not to worry, he would definitely take a few slides, scan them on the flatbed and call me back with the comparison to my previous scans. A week and a half go by and I call to express my frustration that I still haven't heard from him. A woman says that she is so sorry, that the person who digitizes slides is there that day, but busy, so she'll have her call me within hours. Two weeks go by, I drive across town and I ask for my slides back. A woman gets them and asks "was everything done to your satisfaction." I say, "on the contrary nothing was done at all to my satisfaction." Not bitchy, not loudly, I just say it plainly as a fact. She hands me the slides and says, "oh, well here you go. Thank you." So that's my story of a two month long process of trying to get slides digitized. Was anyone rude? No. But did they communicate clearly? No. Mixed messages about possibilities. No calls back when they said. No finished work, after two months, nothing usable. And you would think after taking almost 100 dollars and a customer says they did not help at all, an employee might pause and ask what happened. Nope. That's Valley Photo Service, in my experience.

Originally it was a challenge to try to get people to donate stuff for the cause. Little bit of History, it's always been in the same place, always at the garage in the back of the house. So anyone that tells you otherwise, is fibbing. There's a couple really nice guys who work there now, at least as of November 2021, that really know their stuff, and can point you in the right direction if you need some suggestions. The way the prices work is usually: 1. They sell items for around half to 3/4 the price of retail. Definitely a bargain if you're looking for some Expendables at low cost. 2. If you're coming here to exchange your items for cash credit or a payout check, they'll pay somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/4 to say 1/3 the cost of retail for your item. **** every situation is different **** Parking: free street parking is available up and down the entire Block.
