Be careful, doesn't stand by his parts. I had a screen repaired here and it broke two days later. I paid extra for the OEM parts, but I worked for Verizon for 16 years, and never seen a screen so fragile and break so easily. The screen doesn't look like a normal cracked screen, like it doesn't have the adhesive in it that's supposed to make it stronger. I called him about it and he flew off the handle, and jumped right to basically saying that he would win if I tried to sue him, and he's been sued for this thing twice and won both times, and I never said anything about court or suing. I was just trying to find out if the warranty would help at all here. Had to just hang up because he wouldn't stop ranting. read more

I just wanted to update my review because this owner will not leave me the F alone. He threatens to take me to small claims court for $65 if I don't take down my review. I got so tired of him calling me everyday that I went and dropped off a check for $45. It was supposed to be for $65 but I deducted $20 cause that's what I paid to have somebody else fix my phone that he broke. He sent the check back to me. No pleasing this guy. He obviously has nothing better to do except to try and make my life miserable. Won't work Doug quit threatening me. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received from Doug. I asked around and he was the most recommended of the group. I had a lot of questions and he was very upfront with his answers. I really got some time to chat with Doug and really like what he has going for Red Shoe Rescue and I am glad I found them to repair my iPhone 11 ProMax. The repair was quick, which I appreciated since I needed to get the phone back to my sister for a video call interview the next day. The price was not too bad, it was mainly because of the screen. My girlfriend and I randomly decided to go to dinner at China City a few weeks ago and on the way in I noticed there was a computer and phone repair shop next door. I had been putting off getting the battery replaced, for about a year, on my old iPhone because I thought I had to go to Folsom or Sac and it might take a while. We popped in to Red Shoe Rescue hoping that was a service they provided, not really expecting it to happen then as it was already getting late and they closed in half an hour, and the owner told us it would be no problem at all. They were super nice, took down some of our info, checked the phone for any previous damage, took our phone in back and swapped the battery out in a jiffy. We also chatted a bit about techie stuff from about twenty years ago, when I was more technically inclined. All of my cell phones owning life, I've never broken a screen . . . till last week. So understanding next steps required a google search. I found Red Shoe as a local place to go and they didn't disappoint. Charlie said they'd be able to replace the screen within an hour. and due to the potential damage my iPhone X incurred from falling off my car while driving on Green Valley, he also said that before buttoning it up with the new screen, they'd make sure it actually worked. Upon pickup, he confirmed that after trying 2 different screen attachment and even a new battery but it would not power on :( They didn't charge me anything for their time to determine my phone totally dead. Cannot give Doug snd Red Shoe enough high praise. Had an accident with my phone that resulted in a bit of a shattered screen. My work requires my phone to be on good working order, and Doug had the parts I needed. Not only did he have the parts, he had multiple levels of options for a replacement. Good, better, and best as he described it- perfect for someone to decode just how much they needed to spend on their phone. After a couple hours (I happened to snag him right before lunch) my phone was ready. Unfortunately when I got home I noticed an issue. Calling Doug, he insisted I bring it back in so we could check it out. The next opening I dropped back in and he went to work on it. An issue with my facial recognition scan was the issue, so not something he could double check on his end. Trying a few things initially nothing worked. I left my phone with him, he did a little more research, and bam- I was at the store again- phone fully functioning. The guy knows his stuff, and has a passion for it. Doug understands how important your device is to you and takes meticulous care in repairing it. Keeping an inventory diverse enough to repair all the various devices he sees in a day can't be easy, yet he seems to have what is needed a majority of the time. In a business like his, I'm sure some of Doug's customers are demanding and impatient. They may expect miracles, not understanding that the work can be painstaking and the fact that he likely has the exact part you need in stock is itself kind of miraculous! Incredible! I had previously taken my phone to Batteries Plus because it wasn't charging well. They, supposedly, cleaned it out and got it to as good as they could before suggesting that I replace the charging port. I came to Red Shoe to replace the charging port and they just used a much more powerful microscope to actually clean out the charging port and the phone is working good as new without any costs! There is something to the other lower ratings here. The guy knows what he is doing with the repairs, but he does have a very challenging personality. I probably would not return to him, as a result, because I can get repairs at a number of other places in my area, so I prefer someone who is more skilled in customer service. I also would never refer anyone who isn't thick-skinned. The guy is not subtle about his feeling of superiority, outlining several ways in which he is better than others to me directly. Still, I rated at a 3-star 'OK' because the business does what it says it does.
