Friend recommended I go here to get my phone repaired when I was experiencing tons of ghosting on my screen. When I walked into the store, my phone was busted. These guys know what they're doing & they do it for a reasonable price! They replaced the charging port on my Samsung Galaxy S5. Its a tricky job since the port is also attached to the speaker & the screen. These guys did it without a hitch for $90! Last time I checked a cell phone repair place was a few years ago in Citrus Heights. My daughters S5 screen was shattered & they wanted $200 to fix it! Thanks again, to Doug & the crew! Used at Cameron Park in May 2017. Replaced lightning port after free cleaning. Used at Martell Feb 2019. Advised against battery replacment until testing if free port cleaning made a difference, which it did. Only iPhone repair closer to Ione/Plymouth/Sutter Creek area than Folsom. Fast friendly repair with free diagnoisis and port cleaning. Owner Doug says in business for 6 years, running both locations by himself now. Cameron Park location to move near by soon. I am not one for writing bad reviews. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt but the customer service I received from the proprietor of Red Shoe Rescue today is unacceptable. Brief history: I was happy to learn there was a local business to get the screen on my iPhone replaced and took my phone to Red Shoe Rescue on a Monday, Nov. 9. I was happy to learn that this could quickly be done but paid a good deal of money for the new screen and to have a screen film put on. Wednesday of the same week (Nov. 11), after getting complaints from callers on the other end that they could not hear me when I used the speaker phone, I took the phone back and asked why the speaker mic worked before (even with a cracked screen) but does not work after the repair. I was impressed with the diligence Doug represented in attempting to fix this problem to the extent of inviting me into his work space while he opened the phone and looked for parts. He claimed he did not have the part he needed and that he would put in an order for one (two for good measure so he'd have an extra on-hand). With me sitting beside him, he searched for the part on-line to order. He told me the part should be in on Friday and to return the following Monday (that would have been 10 days ago). Two days ago, I received a "two week follow up" email from Doug letting me know he was there for me if I had any questions. Illness and circumstance kept me from getting back to Red Shoe Rescue until today. Doug did not have the parts he was to have ordered. He was rude and condescending and said that it had been a month since I'd been there and insinuated that it was my fault that he didn't order the part. He then followed with a tangent asking me if I had spent money on anyone besides myself today and why would he put out and waste money on someone he didn't care about especially if they weren't going to return for another month (the part cost $8.99). I had to walk out before I broke down in disbelief. I will never do business with Red Shoe Rescue again. read more

Big Shout out to Red Shoe Rescue! Recently, I needed to replace my iPhone battery. I called Red Shoe and they not only put in a new battery but matched Apple's price! A little while later I was having trouble with my phone and it seemed like the battery was not charging. I went back and they found that there was an update that needed to be done. They happily updated my phone for me and didn't charge me for their time. It is nice to know there is a local business with great customer service to fix cell phones. I work in this shopping center sometimes, and unfortunately, my iPhone 6 Plus has been giving me issues. Every time I come in and out of this shopping center, I drive by Red Shoe Rescue, so I decided to walk in and see if there is anything they can do to fix my phone. My iPhone seems to have the "touch disease", that is becoming more and more of a problem with iPhone 6, 6 +, 6s, etc. where the screen does not respond to touch - a problem with the motherboard of the phone. Way beyond my level of phone knowledge. Anyway, the two gentlemen working in there were extremely nice & honest. They told me it could be fixed, but the same issue would more than likely keep arising, and that I would be better off either keeping it, or selling it for parts. I always appreciate when a business owner practices in a way that is morally right...rather than taking advantage of a customer that isn't in the know. I ran into Red Shoe Rescue in Cameron Park about 10 minutes before closing time yesterday. In a panic, I let the owner know that I had attempted to replace my shattered IPhone 6s Plus screen myself and couldn't seem to get it turned on. I think he could see the true panic in my eyes (I work remotely for a company out of Texas and this phone is my life line) so he decided to open it up with me and see what I missed. The owner stayed almost a half hour after closing to work with me and get my phone working, which he did (thank goodness)!!! I truly appreciated this as I had already missed a whole day of phone calls tying to replace the screen myself. I have definitely learned my lesson and will be coming to Red Shoe Rescue for any cell phone needs I have! You have a customer for life! Awesome service! I came in at 6pm, an hour before closing. I had shattered my phone screen about an hour earlier. Within about 45 minutes I had a new screen and was out the door. A year ago my wife's ipad was slow (like me, as I was 79 years old) so they replaced the battery and now it is a teenager again. So this year my ipad is slow (and I am now 80 years old) and I took it in and they (well, Doug) said that it was one of the first ones and they were not updating new software for the old hardware. Well, I have a patent in software engineering and understood. I am old hardware. And nothing about me is getting updated. But I can tell you that he was very honest in his diagnosis, and spent some half-hour, and did not charge anything. I need to start this review out by apologizing for my behavior with the owner of Red Shoe Rescue. It is not my nature to become angry and confrontational with anyone, and I feel disappointed and sad that this person at Red Shoe Rescue brought out the worst in me. In the 25 years I have lived in this fine community of Cameron Park, I have never felt so disrespected and so rudely treated by a business owner as I was by the owner of Red Shoe Rescue (Doug). I will say, he apologized (although I sensed it was insincere) in the middle of our conversation, but made no effort to rectify or come up with a solution as to how to satisfy his customer. After he apologized the conversation continued to escalate. This business may do quality work on phone repair, but I was not given the opportunity to see that for myself. So here is what happened, and you can decide whether you want to bring your business to this store. On Wednesday, May 16, I called Red Shoe and spoke to Chris, and asked if I could bring my phone in because it is not holding a charge. Chris told me they were really backed up with phone repairs and could I come in tomorrow, 5/17. No problem. I visited the store the next morning, and the owner, Doug, was on the phone, and a customer was at the counter. An employee came out from the back to help me and said his name was Chris. I told him I had spoke to him the day before about my phone not holding a charge, and could he fix it. Chris checked to see if they had the battery for my phone in stock, which they did. It was then that the owner yelled out to Chris, "I'm not taking any more repairs today!" I thought this was rather strange and unprofessional that he would yell this out with customers in the store. Chris explained they were backed up, and could I come back on Monday afternoon, (4 business days since my first phone call) as he did not think they would be open on Monday morning. I said ok, but I was heading out of town on Tuesday, and would it be fixed before I left? "Oh yes," he said. "It will only take about 30 minutes to put the new battery in." I said sure, I'll come back Monday afternoon. I returned to the store on Monday, 5/21, at approximately 2:00 p.m. and a sign said closed; returning at 3:30 p.m. I went home and called the store at 3:45 p.m. to ensure the store was open. I was directed to a voice message box. I identified myself, and why I was calling when someone picked up the phone, cut me off, and abruptly and quickly said "yes we are open, see you when you get here," and hung up the phone before I could finish my sentence and tell him why I was calling. Ok, I thought, that was rude, but I'll go anyway because I need my phone fixed. I get to the store, and the owner is the only one there helping one customer in front of me. After he is done with the customer ahead of me, I tell him that I had spoke to Chris last week, and he had confirmed my battery was low and not holding a charge. The owner said "Chris is new here, and I'm not taking any more phone repairs until Wednesday." It was then I told him that this is the third time I've been turned away from his store, and that his customer service was horrible. I told him about the attitude I observed of him the week before yelling out how he was not going to take anymore phone repairs while customers were waiting, and how rude that was. He told me that was my perception, and wanted to argue and deny that he had such an attitude. I informed him that he hung up on me before I came there. I also told him that Chris said it would only take 30 minutes to fix and he said "that's 30 minutes that I can't fix someone else's phone." If he would have taken the time to listen to why I needed his services when I called, he could have nicely told me over the phone that he was not taking any more repairs until Wednesday (1 week after my first attempt for help). He could have saved me a trip to his store, and perhaps set up a time for me to come in on Wednesday, but he hung up on me instead. This man is not a nice person, and a horrible communicator. He seems frustrated and stressed with how far behind he is with his work, and appears to take it out on new customers. I was visibly shaken and taken aback by this man, and I will never bring my business to his store, and will definitely inform my family and friends who live in this community that his business practices are unprofessional and deplorable. A good manager and business owner should always try to find a solution; not be a part of the problem. This was a very disappointing experience for me and not a good use of my time. read more

My Samsung galaxy cell phone need to be repaired so I took it to Red Shoe. After explaining to them what was wrong, Doug informed me that his wife had the same problem with her phone and it cannot be repaired. It's not that he didn't try though. I finally ended up buying an iPhone from him and he spent hours with me explaining how to work it and setting it up. Great service that I can recommend. read more

I went in thinking there was a horrible problem with the camera on my Samsung Galaxy S5 and that I was going to have to spend lots of money to have it repaired. Come to find out, the repair technician noticed that there was a little clear piece of plastic covering the camera which made for terrible pictures. The plastic was peeled off and the camera was much improved. I had NO idea the plastic was even there! I walked out with a smile on my face (albeit a tad embarrassed) and my money still in my pocket. I really appreciated their HONESTY as they easily could've told me there was some huge expensive issue and I wouldn't have known any better. This is a company you can TRUST! Highly recommend them. Great experience! Took my iPhone 7 in as i dropped it and when i made calls the sensor was not working not to mention a shattered screen. I showed up to pick up my phone 15 minutes to closing and the owner stated that my home button was also damaged. He gave me options, explained them to me and what he would do. He stayed an hour passed the closing time to finish my phone which i think is wonderful customer service. Yes, it might take a couple hours to have your phone repaired but i rather have that and the job done right than a rush job with problems. HIGHLY recommend. read more

We took 2 Motorola phones in for repair. Both phones worked but had broken screens. The new screens never worked. The phones were each returned several times because the screens had dead spots and were lifting. The tech cracked the screen of one of the phones and we were told "so sorry to bad for you your warranty is now voided" neither phone has worked or been fixed and Doug (the owner refuses to stand by his services) we have taken out phones to CPR in Rancho Cordova. Not only have they heard of the horrible services offered by Red Shoe, the fixed their mistakes for $100 less. Love CPR. Hate Red Shoe and their belligerent owner. read more

Great service and quick turnaround! My daughter's Galaxy S6 had a broken charging port. Before driving up he explained what would need to be done, the price, what could go wrong, and checked that he had the part. Headed up there on my lunchtime - 1 hour later I walked out with a working - and charging - phone. Very honest and great work!
