I came here years ago for my birthday and bought a tattoo for my then girlfriend. My wife(different person) took me here and for my birthday bought me the only piece of flash art I have. I have been wanting it since I was with my ex gf. It was the owner who did the work. Not much shading in the design, but his line work is nice and tight. Only seen better one time in my life, and that was triple the hourly rate. Prices here are low for the quality you get in my opinion. Will definately be back here again. I got a tat about a year ago from this place from Tony and had a great experience, however since then I've gone back for a quote a couple times and the staff is just rude and condescending. I've even tried reaching out via social media and even through there they are dry, rude, and just not engaging artists at all. So I went into this shop on my vacation I was so excited to get this really important tattoo of mine for my daughter. The pictures online were great and the reviews made me want to go. Firstly the guy was a smart ass when I asked if he could do a pretty simple line tattoo, he replied "yeah I can do a single line" I said "no" like a line tattoo no shading" so I showed him what I wanted. He said he wasn't going to do the writing cause I'll get old and it won't look nice. Okay sure I get that but why the attitude?. so he drew it up it looked nice enough and still gave the same idea. So I sit down and he does his thing and puts the stencil on. He took a whole 5 minutes tattooing this and when he was done doing the lines I asked if he could make the hairline thicker cause it was reallllyyy thin he said "yeah sure that'll happen in time but whatever". Do you treat all your customers like that when they ask you to fix something?? And also thicker lines don't happen over time?????? I just wanted to get out of there at that point I wasn't even going to bother having him fix any of the other lines that were super thin or just messed up in general cause he just had a whole lotta bad attitude It was Just all around a really bad experience for me and this was $110! For something I'm going to have to go to another shop to fix! This rating is strictly customer service based and not about tattooing. Why am I even reviewing? I called to see if there was a walk in appointment yesterday, somebody was booked but the other guy was not in but they were going to shoot him a text and see if he was coming in or available. No response at first so I waited. ..... Still waited. Instead of taking it personally I figured I'd follow up and see instead of a same day walk in, if I could do something crazy like make an appointment. Still wasn't able to get an answer to that silly question. For the 2nd time in the same day I gave my info and waited for a call back. I'm not even going to make you wait like this bunk tattoo shop did with me to let you know what's next: Nothing I never got a call back for either of my calls asking if I could come in and pay them to ink me. They may be talented but not very business oriented. Also if you look at the not recommended reviews that yelp doesn't post front and center: a lot of the 5 star reviews only have done 1 review and yelp and they sound all very familiar. My first tattoo? It was all right... nothing special. As a matter of fact, the tattoo artist (Josh, I think, bulky curly-haired brunette) made me and my friend feel quite awkward about getting matching tattoos. She took a picture of him at work on me, and the next thing we know, she's getting snapped at and scolded about how photos aren't allowed and HIPAA laws apply... all valid, but seriously, it was a photo of ME and his delivery was so unfriendly and abrupt. Totally ruined the mood. Such a tribute to regulations, when I'm laying there, forced to listen to obscenity-riddled conversation between the artist and client next door. And the tattoo itself? Nothing special. Six months later, and I've got blurry lines, inconsistent shadowing, and all this with proper aftercare. If anything is clear, it's that the shop takes advantage of its location and its clients. Any actual artistic talent takes a backseat to the impulsivity of its nautical location, half-drunk clients, and whatever artists happen to be on duty at the time. Get inked elsewhere. read more

By luck, I was able to book a walk-in appointment. I chose a piece from their flash selection, and the whole process was about 10 minutes! The artist did a touch-up of an existing tattoo for no extra charge, granted it's about an inch big. The place was clean, I felt welcomed and accepted as I was there for my appointment! So far, the tattoo is healing well and I'm glad I went! They're also strict on their minor policy, my friend who is a minor accompanied me on my tattoo appointment and they would not tattoo or pierce her while she was there! This shop was highly recommended to me so I attempted to get an appointment. I was told to contact on Facebook with a description of what I wanted done, & an artist would get back to me. That never happened. I called again & was told that one of the artists would get back to me. Hours later, I was in town so I stopped by. I was told to fill out a form & that someone would get back to me that day to get me scheduled. That, again never happened. I tried one more time to reach them on Facebook & never received a reply. I get that they may have gotten busy, but that was two weeks ago & I still haven't heard back. I've been to several shops over the last 20 years & this one is terrible!! read more

I was so excited for my husband to get his wedding ring tattooed on. The guys here are super nice but if you say you're not comfortable doing finger tattoos then maybe you shouldn't do it and suggest we go somewhere else. Yes, Josh I'm referring to you. I emailed you not even a week after my husband got his tattoo done because it looked like shit and asking for suggestions on what you could do to help us out. But instead I never heard anything back from you. So disappointed. Oh and keep in mind we live 4 1/2 hours away from Ocean Shores! We were just hoping for a cool new tattoo while on vacation. One star because I can't give zero. Skip Red Sky and go to High Tide Body Art. Visited this shop today for my first ever tattoo (I'm 64). Met Josh and I could not believe how rude he was. I want a quotation tattoo and he was impatient that I didn't know the exact font - he gave us a website to look at fonts and I picked one but I was uncomfortable with the size (elbow to wrist). Asked if we could resize ... nope. What if I picked a different font ... nope. Was totally unwilling to work with us on getting to the tattoo I wanted. Frankly. looking at Josh's book, his skill doesn't warrant his arrogance. Ended up going to High Tide Body Art. No problem resizing and we got to the tattoo I wanted by making a couple of modifications. I get the tattoo tomorrow but the friendliness and customer service was amazing. I'm already glad I went there. read more

It's time to shed some light on this place in ocean shores. Red sky tattoo has some nice guys there, very friendly personable people to speak to. As far as the work goes it's top notch. I recommend if you have a tattoo in mind let them draw out there artistic twist on it. My wife and I went here on our honey moon to get similar tattoos done. We disregarded any previous reviews, as we both know some people only review when they have a problem. These folks at red sky would clearly assist with your issue if you bring it up to them. Me and my sister went here a few months ago to get matching anchor tattoos and the ink is severely smudged if not gone, after all precautions (ie no water, plenty of non-scented hypoallergenic lotion) not only did we set an appointment and get left in the waiting room for over an hour while the employees were socializing, swearing and smoking outside with their buddies (totally unprofessional), but the guy completely botched my sister's tattoo and groaned the entire time like it was his "job" and not his passion. He had a bad attitude the entire experience. I understand having to make money, but go to an ink artist that actually cares instead of some random tattoo shop just because you're on a vacation. read more

I'm not from Washington, but I went to visit with some friends. A large group of us came into Red Sky and got tattoos together. It was my first tattoo, so I didn't know what to expect, but when I left, I thought my tattoo looked great. After I got home, I started to notice that the raised skin wasn't going down. I took great care of my tattoo, especially because it was my first one, but soon the lines started looking really messy. It's been two year since I got a tattoo from Red Sky, and since then, I've gotten more tattoos, and discussed with other tattooers what may have caused my skin to still be raised in the areas that were tattooed, and why the lines looked all blurry. They told me that it was because the person who did my tattoo pressed too hard when they were tattooing, and scarred my skin. They also told me that since the skin is raised, it would be difficult to cover up. Many of the people I was with reported similar problems with their tattoos. As I mentioned above, I don't live in Washington, so I can't go back to Red Sky and complain, but that is why I'm leaving this Yelp review, to warn others. read more

My boyfriend and I came up for the weekend to Ocean shores and saw this little tattoo shop so we decided to get piercings. My boyfriend was first and had his septum pierced by Tuesday. I, feeling extremely jealous of my boyfriends piercing, came back later to get a nose ring. He was about to leave and seemed irritated that I came through the door asking for a piercing. He had a very full of himself attitude, and it wasn't until he made a mistake that he began being nice. To be honest, I don't think he let me look at the placement before starting, but me being as nervous as I was, just wanted it over. After the needle went through and he added the ring, he began fitting it. This took a good I'd say 10 minutes because he made the ring so snug he couldn't get the ball on. He started apologizing and calling me sweetie and even offered to give me the piercing for free (didn't follow through and I should have insisted). I noticed after leaving ocean shores that my ring seemed really low on my nostril; went into Metro after a week and was told that it was too low. I did tell them how I requested a nose ring that would hug my nose...but the piercer there told me it was still too low. This new piercer had to cut the ring off my nose because the ring wouldn't bend. She said whoever they get their jewelry from must be cheap. I asked her what she meant, and she told me the nicer rings will be flexible and bend, and don't require pliers. You get what you pay for I guess....lesson learned. read more

Worst experience EVER. I have many tattoos and piercings and this place was terrible. The piercer was awful and he smelled like a walking pub. I had to wait more than an hour and a half...for what, I don't know. There wasn't a single other patron the entire time I waited. The piercer fumbled with the jewelry and pierced at such a strange angle that my lip got majorly inflamed and infected. Stay away from these people of you value your flesh. read more
