The location is perfect!!! In the middle of the Village and Snow Summit, but secluded enough to feel the serenity of a vacation. The cabin itself was spotless and beautiful, and there are TWO hot tubs!! Plus, we didn't need to trek out to the Snow Play area because the backyard had a small hill we could sled down...we even saw others sledding down the street that the cabin is located on! Seriously couldn't have found a better place...it was meant to be:). Thanks to Grampa Mike, my boyfriend and I had the best intro to Big Bear...we hadn't vacationed in awhile, and this was just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days. The property I bought had another cash offer and my funding had taking awhile to get docs going. The sellers agent wanted my deal to fall through because of the cash offer!! Carol knew exactly what he had to do "Legally"in order for my deal to fall through. He didn't provide cancellation notices in the timely manner and there are a certain amount of days you must provide that notice before it can happen. Carol stopped him in his tracks and convinced the sellers agent. That he is in a contract and that is it. Plus she knew the old homeowner liked me and wanted my family to buy the home!! Carol was awesome and she even helped me with a lower % to help me get my place painted inside & out. That's why a real estate agent is needed! Experience and education. She insisted that it was clean because she checked personally. If that is your perception of clean than you must live in a pig pen. She was completely dismissive about our concerns. We called and didn't receive proper help. Lighting in the house is dim and light fixtures really dirty. The porch light does not work, we had to use our phone flashlights. Lightbulbs out in bedrooms Downstairs bathroom toilet paper dispenser missing No wine glasses in kitchen - we purchased in town and donated Poorly stocked kitchen .. no sugar and creamer for coffee for example . Back of tv horribly dusty- thick dust The worst was on check out day !!!! Omg at 8:00 received a text from Vacasa if we're ready to check out. Seriously!???! And at 8:40am loud doorbell with a repair man to fix a broken gate????? They could not wait until between 10 and 4!?!? We were in our pajamas ! He proceeded to drill loudly. Not his fault. We felt like we had no opportunity to do early check in but you couldn't wait to kick us out. And What was advertised at $170 a night we paid $350 because of Property management fees and cleaning fees. Some of the fees are typical, but we would expect proper service. So All if this is really unacceptable. We would love to stay at this property again, because the cabin is fantastic. But we would like to rent it directly from the owner because of no flexibility, and inappropriate property management.

We were a few days away from closing escrow on a house in Big Bear when we started looking for property management companies. Based on the 100% positive yelp reviews and great initial conversation with Miguel, we decided to go with CA Mountain Rentals to help us manage the property. Immediately paid off. The day after we signed paperwork with him (which was also the day we were to transfer the funds and close escrow on the house), Miguel decided he wanted to stop by the new place to check it out (a testament to his thorough nature... we didn't ask him to stop by, he just did). When he did, he noticed something that our realtor, property inspector, and seller/sellers agent all failed to mention or notice... the fact that both the parking spots and a decent portion of the stairs were built on city property, meaning it would not be allowed in the vacation rental program (a big part of the equation for us), and the city could tell us at anytime that we needed to rip the stairs down and move THE MOUNTAIN about 12 feet back, probably a 6 figure, months long project! After confirming this with the city (also coordinated by Miguel), we were able to get our deposit back and walk away. We were roughly an hour from going to the bank to wire the money when Miguel called to let us know. Major bullet dodged. Original real estate agent fired. Enter EXP realty. Working with Miguel & Amber on the real estate purchase side was equally fruitful and easy. They were incredibly responsive & insightful about the local market, introduced us to contractors, and even went by the local Spectrum office for us to help get internet setup when the corporate office was being uncooperative! We just closed escrow on a new (and much nicer) house 60 days later and couldn't be happier. Needless to say, they've gone above and beyond and it's been a pleasure to work with them. We couldn't recommend them highly enough, and look forward to doing business with them for a long time.

We made big family dinners every night. Two full size fridges for all the food we brought. We played pickle ball outside on property. Very close to town. We rented a boat and took the family out. Took the kids to the zoo. Also I left my travel jewelry box there after we left. I called Melissa and one of the cleaning crew turned it in. Despite paying more than $XX,XXX, the home was extremely outdated, and the bathrooms were non-functional after they had mentioned everything has been recently updated. Out of five families, each with multiple children, we were forced to share one single working restroom--a completely unacceptable situation for the price we paid. We contacted the management multiple times, yet nothing was done to properly address the situation. The worst part? They promised a refund but are now refusing to return our money, holding it hostage instead. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. There are properties that are not only a million times better but also don't gouge you with ridiculous prices or scam you by withholding refunds. Avoid this place at all costs.
