The fries were the best part of the experience in my opinion. They just needed some seasoning on them and they would have been perfect. Sidenote: The restaurant nickle and dimes you for everything. Extra wing sauce? Charge. Extra ranch? $1.50 charge. (I don't even think it's homemade) Want to use your debit/major credit card? 3% charge. I ended up paying in cash to avoid the extra card processing charge, but in my opinion I felt like the restaurant was trying to charge for every little thing. The plate arrived looking genuinely promising -- chips spread flat, chili distributed, fresh jalapeños, dual cheese situation with Hatch queso and cheddar-jack. Guac and salsa served on the side in separate ramekins, which is actually a smart call. First impression: better than expected. Then physics intervened. The metal tray conducts heat away from the food faster than you can eat it. By the halfway point everything was cold. This dish should come with a warning. Winter is coming. The chips fused together into nacho tiles from the cheese. Pulling one chip meant pulling five, all welded together, shedding cheese to whichever chip stayed behind. Every bite was a negotiation. The Hatch queso and cheddar-jack sounded promising. The flavor was bland and forgettable. The jalapeños were large, fresh cut, and had absolutely zero heat. The crema joins the Hall of Shame -- listed on the menu, invisible on the plate. On the way out I told the manager to ditch the metal tray. He agreed.
