Started with some clam chowder which had large pieces of fish and was nice and hot. The Arizona sunrise drink was extremely sweet and couldn't be mixed so every few sips was a new flavor. The cosmo was tart and strong. The ahi tuna seemed a bit over cooked but the sauce was delicious. The ravioli was a unique flavor with a mustardy sauce, pumpkin flavor, and uncooked spinach. This is one of the places we like to frequent on this side of town. Today we had a party of eight. We were place on the call ahead list an hour before our arrival. We then waited about 25 minutes to be seated. We started with cheese curds and I had an onion soup. From what the group said the cheese curds were good but they didn't particularly care for the sauce that came with them. My soup was flavorful but definitely not hot. It was warm at best even though the crock was hot and the cheese melted. Most at the table got a pizza or Stromboli. They pizza was packed with toppings the Chicago pizza seemed to be a favorite. The stools were huge with marinara said on the side. I have the chicken Marsala it was delicious. The mashed potatoes were smooth with enough texture to know they were real potatoes. The place was packed, the wait was 45 minutes to an hour, and people were sticking around, so we figured it would be great. It was beyond great! We sat inside as we waited and had wonderful conversations with other guests. It was wonderful to have those with no masks on! Once seated, we both ordered a drink with blueberries in it, super tasty! Fresh warm garlic bread was served as well, that tasted divine! My husband had a Chicken Parmesan Calzone, he says it was AWESOME, but still had to bring half of it home, it was so big!! I ordered Pesto Chicken over Tortellini, let me tell you, that plate was so full, I knew it would last three meals right away! I almost got full on the side salad; it was very nice sized as well. All the flavors meshed incredibly well, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The server gave me grated asiago cheese over the top, I felt like I was eating a gourmet meal! After reading all the positive reviews and looking at the menu, we decided to come here for a belated Valentine's dinner with another couple on the following Wednesday. They don't take reservations, but we thought a 5 pm weekday dinner would not be so busy, but it was packed! The place is a lot smaller than I expected and there are only 6 seats in the waiting area so we stood in the very narrow hallway between the dining area and the bar. We waited 50 minutes before we were seated. While waiting for our table, I ordered a martini on the rocks from the bartender, but at the last minute, I noticed he was shaking it with ice and pouring it into a martini cocktail glass. When I reminded him that I had ordered it on the rocks. he tried to add ice cubes but I stopped him and said I would take it as he made it. There was no apology and he looked pissed off. Once seated, our server brought us a bread basket with buttered garlic rolls that were delicious. I ordered the Seafood Scampi w/Linguine (jumbo shrimp, clams, mussels, and scallops) in a garlic butter sauce and my wife had the NY Strip. The serving portions were huge, but my seafood was dry, the linguine was overcooked, and the green mussels tasted swampy! I would not order this dish again. My wife's steak was tough and tasteless. Our server didn't check on us or we would have sent back our dishes. The best part of the dinner was the included side salads that were ice cold and fresh with delicious blue cheese and French dressings. Right down the street I don't know what took me so long to check this place out. I'm glad I did. We arrived around 7pm on a weeknight. There was a wait list for a table. The told us 20 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised when they texted us after 5 minutes to say our table was ready. We were seated outside, but had made it clear we wouldn't mind sitting outside. The tables were under a canopy and had misters going. We were perfectly comfortable. I had in mind to get one of the signature burgers, but as we were being seated I saw a brick oven pizza being delivered to another table. That was it! I had to get one. We were seated and the waiter took our drink order. The drinks were out in a few minutes. We placed our meal orders. I ordered a signature 12" Chicago pizza. This comes with sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, roasted peppers, mushrooms, bacon and red onions. Our food was out in a reasonable amount of time. This pizza was perfectly baked. The crust was not paper thin, but not bready either. This crust was substantial enough to hold all the toppings without them sliding off. The sauce was not overpowering, but nicely flavored. There was a generous amount of toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. There was more pizza than I could eat though I didn't want to stop. It was so good. The leftovers became my breakfast. This was a surprisingly good pizza for the price. I am going to have a hard time ordering something different next time, but I did see a few more mouthwatering things go out to other tables which I might try. I would recommend coming here to slay your hunger dragon. They have generous portions and everything looks so delicious. read more

We have been coming here almost since 'the 'Brew' opened, and we still loved it - until last night, when this restaurant lost 2 stars for food and the manager's attitude, both fundamental to a great restaurant. The focaccia-y breadsticks are as good as they always have been, but now the table gets two per person instead of a basket as was usual before; and the PRICES are ridiculously pretentious for a neighborhood American restaurant. The decor hasn't changed in 20 years; it's nothing bad: just tables and booths, like down the road at Lucky Lou's for example, only with triple the $ ... They rotate people in/out in a way that to me is uncomfortable because I - as all European-bred restaurant eaters - like to enjoy my meal with good service and in a relaxed manner. Particularly when I'm being charged $41 for overcooked spaghetti (and not LinguinE, as described on the menu and incorrectly spelled LinguinI) with very little Seafood which was overcooked Shrimp, bland pale Scallops, I think two maybe three little neck Clams and about four Mussels, two so pale I was reluctant to eat them. The so-called wine sauce had barely a whiff of white wine and the lemon was on the plate and not in the sauce! My husband ordered the Porterhouse steak, medium rare, and it was very good - Yay! at a whopping $60 !!! Note that we were not seated at a table with proper linen tablecloth, we did have a linen napkin and metal flatware, crystal or at a minimum glass glassware, but at a small, scrappy high top table for two, which really is suited for a single diner it's so small, where we had to juggle our plates and our drinks - also no water was even offered, which is good from a water conservation point but not good at this kind of price absurdity in a bar area at a plain, regular, nothing out-of-the-ordinary restaurant. Most wait staff are excellent, as was our Ana (Anna?) from yesterday: and really it was probably one of the busiest Sunday nights we've seen in a long time. I am very disappointed in the rude and uncaring manner the restaurant manager responded to my enquiry and it was obvious he's just there because it's a job and not a career he cares about; it's a shame because previous managers over the years were much more in tune with patrons, and at least smiled while circulating and helping out staff when so busy. The current one looked like wanted to throw us all out and go home. So that is one star down; I myself have been a manager (and a server on occasion) in a restaurant and understand the stress of the job, but I can't forgive that attitude no matter how busy or tired he was. The second star dropped was the food because it didn't stand up to the price: overcooked, cold on my order and an overpriced ($60!) Porterhouse with a side of mashed potato that, well, it's mashed potato, not a Dauphinoise side, which would've been the perfect accompaniment for my hubby's steak. At this point we didn't order dessert because we felt we'd had enough disappointments, so we both had another Martini and asked for the check. At the moment I don't think I'll be back soon, but eventually I know we'll check out the Brew again, and if - fingers crossed - management is changed maybe have a better experience over all. read more

I'm somewhat sad to say that my soup was cold. I thought soup would be the best choice for a chilly day, but I was really disappointed. Breadsticks never materialized. Staff dropped off soup and waitress was busy tending to others, There was also a table of people sitting outside under heaters, but another disappointment came when the door was left open, which meant not only did I have to enjoy my cold soup, but I also had the added experience of being hit by a cold draft from the stand propped door left open by staff. There were open seats inside, so it seems they prefer to serve a few customers outside, leaving others feeling less impressed and unlikely to return. My man and I have eaten here several times now. It's always a positive experience. I absolutely love the Portobello, four cheese pizza, and I just had the pleasure of experiencing the chicken, club salad. The servers are always friendly and attentive. This will definitely continue to be one of our go to's! Just remember to call ahead an hour for a table or prepare for a bit of a wait at dinner time. My one request is for wild salmon as opposed to farmed, but the menu is extensive and offers many other great options. We will be back. read more

I have never had better Brussels sprouts in my life. They were packet with so much flavor and super crispy! The breadsticks are served warm and they always keep them coming! Well been here several times got here 5pm on a Sunday. Waited 35 min for an outside table for two. Saw a table open up. Mentioned to the hostess, can we grab that while it's open they just cleaned it. She looked at me with piercing eyes and said we will get you sat! Rude demeanor. The young lady was busy applying her lipstick and then seating two others inside tables. Not even a look at the outside after I called it to her attention. We were finally sat at a table outside. The young lady who sat us could barely spend time with us, pointed to the specials you need to QR code for, and ran away. Btw, great specials here. My wife enjoyed the grouper shrimp and lobster sauce special. Delicious. I had the "spicy wings" (not so spicy, just extra hot sauce that didn't add heat. On a good note the wings temperature was so hot, by the time I ate them all, they were finally cooling off. Big credit for that. The waitress was great. Attentive. Punctual not over bearing. The manager cruised the table as few times sitting the visit. He was attentive to details others missed. The flourless chocolate cake was a hit. Thanks for a good meal but not so much for the attitude of the hostess who I almost asked for the manager and walked out that's how arrogant she was. Always busy and I mean always!! Our first experience was at 8 pm and we could only get a bar tip. Next trip we enjoyed dinner with friends, we were not rushed at all which was nice. They have a varied menu which I liked. I had the coconut shrimp with the pineapple salsa. Very good and a large portion. Our guests have been going here for years and I see why. Came in on a Tuesday around 12 noon. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait for outside but we're sat in the bar immediately. The staff does a good job of helping each other out and are all dressed professionally. The wait staff and kitchen staff all paid attention to more that just what they were responsible for. Our glasses never went empty. The hostess was not friendly nor informative. The green tipped muscles were ok. More fishy than I like. But the white wine sauce was amazing.
