I went to Tryst Cafe for brunch with a group of seven on a Saturday afternoon. We made a reservation through Yelp right before just to be safe. However, when we checked in, they couldn't find our reservation, which was fine because they weren't super busy and were able to seat us right away. We only had one server, but he did well managing our group. I ordered the following: Almond milk latte Parmesan fries Super kale omelet The fries were decent, but could have used a lot more parmesan. The super kale omelet was alright. It was an egg white omelet with sautéed kale, spinach, roasted tomato, goat cheese, avocado, and flax seed; with fruit, no bread. My iced latte was also just okay. Tryst Cafe has been serving Phoenix and Chandler for 16 years, using local ingredients whenever possible. After working out on a Saturday morning, a group of us came to Tryst Cafe for some good eats. I ordered: - Fried Fish Tacos ($17.50 - Tempura battered cod, cabbage, pineapple, chipotle ranch): These were some solid fried fish tacos. Bright, flavorful, and very enjoyable. The pineapple added a nice freshness. - Espresso martini ($13 - Three Olives vodka, coffee liqueur, Amaretto, Irish Cream, and a shot of Espresso): Not the most exciting espresso martini or the strongest but one that hits the right notes. I also totally stole a good portion of my friend's garlic parmesan fries. They tasted a little greasy but they had such a nice crunchy coating that it didn't matter. They offer Gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian dishes so there should be something for everybody. read more

First I should say that I'm not gluten free, which seems to be Tryst Cafe's niche. But I will say the menu has a ton of gluten free options, so if you're gluten free, this is the place to go There is a dog friendly patio and an indoor/outdoor bar. Our server was kind of quiet, but he got the job done. It has a kind of botanical them. They have a full bar, and I ordered an Amaretto Sour. It was just okay--heavy on the sweet and sour and light on the amaretto. By the end of the meal, my cocktail had separated and it looked like some weird stuff floating in the middle. For my meal I ordered the ahi tuna melt. The bread was a grilled Parmesan gluten free brioche, it was delicious. You'd never even know it was gluten free. The sandwich, though was very bland--almost no flavor. On the other hand, the side salad was so good. The dressing was delicious! All in all, I thought Tryst was okay. Perhaps if you must eat gluten free, this place would be a winner. read more

After a tough workout at Burn Boot Camp, my friends and I needed some grub, and conveniently, Tryst Cafe was right across the road. In the spirit of the morning's workout, I decided to stick to healthy, and ordered the Asian Jackfruit Bowl... but also drank a cold draft beer... the most refreshing drink on another day of record-breaking heat in the Valley! Some of my friends seemed slightly disappointed with their food orders, but my bowl hit the spot. The quinoa was fluffy, and the Jackfruit was cooked to perfection in an Asian-chipotle sauce. I have wanted to try this place for a long time and I am glad I finally did. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about what is on the menu. The restaurant is clean including the restrooms. There is such a huge selection of food. They have many gluten free options as well. I had a burger. It was cooked perfect and the meat was very high quality. Walked over to try this place for beer and an app. Definitely wasn't disappointed by the laid back atmosphere, attentiveness of the staff, and food and beer selections. Both my husband and I got local beers we hadn't had in a while and we also got the Parmesan garlic fries to share. The beers were crisp and again, brought over so quick. The fries were the perfect crispy texture and had a perfect amount of shredded parm and some parsley, but unfortunately the garlic was a little light (I would definitely ask for more in the future). Huge shout out to my boy Carter, aka Cartier! He mixes up the absolute best spicy martinis around. The food here is always delicious, and it is our go-to spot for family brunch. We were driving by after a photo shoot in the area and decided to stop and have brunch on their shared patio. No wait for seating, server was really good about checking in. The Wife enjoyed her traditional Tryst Breakfast and I was excited to see a version of a traditional Hawaiian breakfast on the menu. Everything came out pretty quick and was tasty. My only feedback would have been that there is no salt or pepper on the tables, would have been nice if that was there so we could season our food to taste. We were on our way to flagstaff and were looking for a lunch. Tryst has a really cool vibe. Started with the buffalo cauliflower. It was too sour and the ranch didn't improve the flavor. Met up here with some friends. I had never been before and the Ambiance was lovely, clean, and sunny. The menu had a very nice variety, lots of GF options for my friend. I had the corned beef hash breakfast. Then leeks actually made it an odd taste for me so it was meh. I know it was freshly made and their recipe, just not my fav. The sweet tots were yummy. The service was interesting....the server was good, but he was not around very often, which was surprising as it was not super busy. He was kind and sweet regardless. The food runner girl was... special....four incidents that made us laugh and confused....first she brought us food and clearly we were still reading the menu; second, she brought me hotsauces I didn't ask for but there were hot sauces in the dish on our table already; 3rd, I asked for ketchup, she brought it and I raise my hand that it's for me but she put it in front of my friend further away; lastly, she brought out another dish and clearly we had already paid and finished... I came here for lunch with my sister. We ordered the beer battered green beans, which was very good. Then we ordered the fish taco to share. They give you 3 soft tacos in corn tortilla. Had lunch here with a group of ladies on 2/25/25. Not too busy. Fantastic & attentive waitress. We all really enjoyed our lunches - fresh & delicious. 3 of us got desserts (see pics). Sorry i didn't take a pic of the dessert menu. They had ~6 options. One got affogato - served with so much espresso the ice cream/gelato all melted & basically became a latte (she prefers Bella Gustos in Chandler). Another had some sort of strawberry & banana covered cheesecake with chocolate sauce which she enjoyed. Devin was so friendly and attentive to our needs--We would come back to Tryst Cafe for the service alone--but you probably want to know a little about the food by now. This restaurant serves all natural meats with no antibiotics ever--not just the chicken, but beef and pork as well. Their attention to a healthy--good for you--menu is commendable. We started with the riblets and Parmesan fries. The fries were double fried--as all fries should be--so they had that crisp outside and soft inside. The riblets were amazing, and the sauce would make a flipflop taste good. My wife the all natural hamburger, and she said it was wonderful. I had the bison burger with white cheddar--it was outstanding. Our granddaughter had the fried fish tacos--she loved them--I nipped a piece of the fish and can confirm they were amazing. We all three had the sweet potato tots--extra crispy, as suggested by Devin--and all I can say WOW! We will definitely be frequenting Tryst Cafe in Chandler--I really want to to work my way through the menu. Honestly there are so many good things they offer that it's hard to choose. We didn't have reservations and were seated right away (as usual). Got in just before their daily happy hour ended so we were able to get some of their specials. Glad to be seated indoors since the sun is still out and strong. Surprised we were seated at a table instead of a booth but saw that they had not been cleared yet. We've been here several times on different days and believe this might be the first time we've been in on a Sunday. Not overly crowded when we arrived but quickly started to fill up before we left. Started with some beer and gin & juniper and beer battered green beans. Everything came out promptly and nice and cool or hot as appropriate. Bbq bacon burger and sweet potato veggie burger were quite nice and the servings were generous and perfectly temped. We like coming here since it's so convenient to get to with lots of parking depending on the day and time (shared parking with EOS gym). Cute location! The Buffalo Califlower was a little underwhelming and could have been roasted through more. Other than that, the hemp tamales were very good. I'm not vegan and didn't realize it but I ended up having a complete vegan lunch (minus the ranch). It was served with sweet potato tots. Very filling. My friend got the sweet potato burger with a side salad. The burger was open faced & really large. I was SO disappointed in my experience this morning - I invited some other moms to Tryst to toast our seniors - I did not make a reservation, as we weren't eating & didn't want to take up a table for others who were, so we gathered around the bar. It took several minutes to be greeted & the gentleman behind the bar was clearly irritated by our presence - hastily pouring out mimosas & telling us we couldn't stand in the walk way - not our fault for poor bar design. We noticed that a larger group had left the back room area & so we asked if we could go back there - mostly to get out of the way. Three of my friends left before they even had water. Once back there, we were told we needed to go out to the patio (it's 100+ & humid) while they cleared the tables - it was such a disaster & I was so embarrassed because I had planned it all & wanted to have a special moment to honor this special day. We have supported Tryst for YEARS - even through Covid. I'm SO disappointed, but I will not be returning to Tryst. read more
