    Asian Jackfruit Bowl
    Allison R.

After a tough workout at Burn Boot Camp, my friends and I needed some grub, and conveniently, Tryst Cafe was right across the road. In the spirit of the morning's workout, I decided to stick to healthy, and ordered the Asian Jackfruit Bowl... but also drank a cold draft beer... the most refreshing drink on another day of record-breaking heat in the Valley! Some of my friends seemed slightly disappointed with their food orders, but my bowl hit the spot. The quinoa was fluffy, and the Jackfruit was cooked to perfection in an Asian-chipotle sauce. The price was a little high at 18 bucks, but Tryst is a nice place for food, drinks, and conversation with friends.

Walked over to try this place for beer and an app. Definitely wasn't disappointed by the laid back atmosphere, attentiveness of the staff, and food and beer selections. Both my husband and I got local beers we hadn't had in a while and we also got the Parmesan garlic fries to share. The beers were crisp and again, brought over so quick. The fries were the perfect crispy texture and had a perfect amount of shredded parm and some parsley, but unfortunately the garlic was a little light (I would definitely ask for more in the future). Will definitely go back for a full meal in the future.

The appetizers and drinks were so yummy and perfect for sharing with friends while we sat and chitchatted on the patio. The patio itself has such a cute vibe and made for a really fun, relaxing evening together.

Love this spot! It's such a cute little place tucked behind our neighborhood. The food and drinks are always great, and the servers are consistently so kind and welcoming. Tried their new November special, braised beef tostadas, and they were SO YUMMY!

We tried Tryst for the first time last weekend. They take reservations which is great for Sunday Brunch! This is a small but comfortable restaurant with ample outdoor seating. The many many gluten free options were great. We can not wait to return to try additional GF options.

We were driving by after a photo shoot in the area and decided to stop and have brunch on their shared patio. No wait for seating, server was really good about checking in. The Wife enjoyed her traditional Tryst Breakfast and I was excited to see a version of a traditional Hawaiian breakfast on the menu. Everything came out pretty quick and was tasty. My only feedback would have been that there is no salt or pepper on the tables, would have been nice if that was there so we could season our food to taste. Overall, glad we stopped by and we will keep this location in mind for the next time we are in the area.

We were on our way to flagstaff and were looking for a lunch. Tryst has a really cool vibe. Started with the buffalo cauliflower. It was too sour and the ranch didn't improve the flavor. The soup and the salad were amazing!! Highly recommend! That broth in the soup was so flavorful. The service was excellent.

Met up here with some friends. I had never been before and the Ambiance was lovely, clean, and sunny. The menu had a very nice variety, lots of GF options for my friend. I had the corned beef hash breakfast. Then leeks actually made it an odd taste for me so it was meh. I know it was freshly made and their recipe, just not my fav. The sweet tots were yummy. The service was interesting....the server was good, but he was not around very often, which was surprising as it was not super busy. He was kind and sweet regardless. The food runner girl was... special....four incidents that made us laugh and confused....first she brought us food and clearly we were still reading the menu; second, she brought me hotsauces I didn't ask for but there were hot sauces in the dish on our table already; 3rd, I asked for ketchup, she brought it and I raise my hand that it's for me but she put it in front of my friend further away; lastly, she brought out another dish and clearly we had already paid and finished... The interesting service won't detour me from going back but it was memorable to say the least.

Tryst is a nice little spot with a lot of options from egg dishes, French toast, pancakes, burgers, salads, sandwiches, tacos, seafood, coffees, teas, and smoothies. I tried out their bison burger and basic mango smoothie. This cost me $36.92 (includes tax and tip). The bison burger was pretty good; I wish it had a tomato in it though to complete it. The mango smoothie was very small for its cost so I would say to avoid that and stick to the entrees instead. Service was nice enough.

    Fried Fish Tacos

I came here for lunch with my sister. We ordered the beer battered green beans, which was very good. Then we ordered the fish taco to share. They give you 3 soft tacos in corn tortilla. I would've preferred flour tortillas, not sure if that was an option. The fish was great, and one taco filled me up already. But overall I felt it was just ok. I liked the ambiance of the place. Would love to come back for brunch next time. Our server was very nice.

Tryst Cafe--Chandler https://trystcafe.com/chandler/ Last night, 3-31-25, we decided to try Tryst Cafe for dinner. I found their menu on their website, and it looked really good. WOW--was this a good call. First off, the ambiance and service at this place are wonderful. The restaurant was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Devin was our waitress, and she never skipped a beat. She knew the menu very well, and all her suggestions were spot on. Devin was so friendly and attentive to our needs--We would come back to Tryst Cafe for the service alone--but you probably want to know a little about the food by now. This restaurant serves all natural meats with no antibiotics ever--not just the chicken, but beef and pork as well. Their attention to a healthy--good for you--menu is commendable. We started with the riblets and Parmesan fries. The fries were double fried--as all fries should be--so they had that crisp outside and soft inside. The riblets were amazing, and the sauce would make a flipflop taste good. My wife the all natural hamburger, and she said it was wonderful. I had the bison burger with white cheddar--it was outstanding. Our granddaughter had the fried fish tacos--she loved them--I nipped a piece of the fish and can confirm they were amazing. We all three had the sweet potato tots--extra crispy, as suggested by Devin--and all I can say WOW! We will definitely be frequenting Tryst Cafe in Chandler--I really want to to work my way through the menu. Honestly there are so many good things they offer that it's hard to choose. I highly recommend this restaurant, and they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I was looking for a place that focuses on healthier food in Gilbert and have been here a few times and have tried different things every time but my favorite thing I have tried so far on the menu is the Thai shrimp lettuce wraps, they're the best and Tryst also has a lot of cute drinks to choose from. Had the nicest bartender :)

    Egg Tryst Benedict*
    Sahar R.

What happened to Egg Benedict? Came in excited to try the Eggs Benedict, but left genuinely confused. What we were served was far from the classic dish -- instead of the expected English muffin, poached egg, and Hollandaise, we got something drowned in sauce, topped with a giant raw tomato that completely overpowered everything. It felt more like a random fridge experiment than a thoughtful brunch dish. The flavors didn't come together at all, and honestly, it just didn't taste good. If you're craving a traditional Eggs Benedict, this isn't it. Disappointing, especially since it wasn't a cheap plate. Also worth noting -- when we asked for a Flat White, the person taking our order had no idea what that was. Not a huge deal, but kind of surprising for a place serving brunch.

From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. There was a group of servers standing around chatting, and no one acknowledged us for several minutes. After being seated, it took about 10 minutes before a server came over just to offer water and ask about drinks. We placed our drink order, and while the coffee came in a carafe, it wasn't even hot. The rest of the drinks trickled out later. Then it was another 20+ minutes before the server came back to take our food order. We ordered two simple build-your-own breakfasts and an Ultimate Grilled Cheese (no fries), plus two Cobb salads to go. Nothing complicated--yet the food took a long time to come out. During that entire wait, our server never checked on us once. No updates, no refills, nothing. When the food finally arrived, we ate, and again--no check-in, no "how is everything," no refill offers. Eventually, she dropped the check off without a word. We had to remind her about the two Cobb salads we ordered to go. She said they'd be right out, and a couple minutes later they showed up with a revised bill. Before leaving, we checked the salads--and that was the final straw. For $18, they were basically side salads. No cheese, no grilled chicken, no avocado, no croutons, no green onions, and not even any hard boiled eggs--just iceberg lettuce, a few tomatoes, bacon, and ranch dressing. Completely unacceptable for what's supposed to be a Cobb salad. We waited at the table for about 5 minutes for someone to come back--no one did. So we went up front and stood there another 5 minutes while multiple staff members ignored us, continuing their closing routines. Not a single person asked if we needed help, and our server was nowhere to be found. At that point, we left the salads behind, paid for the rest of the meal, and walked out. Terrible service from start to finish, and the food quality didn't make up for it. We won't be back.

Always hoping a local recommendation turns out great. *Service: the service was fair. Our waitress spent most of the time sitting in the booth across from us on her phone and checked in occasionally. A few times we had to ask for things we needed. Nothing rude, just not especially attentive or engaged. Definitely didn't feel like her #1 priority. *Food: I ordered the tuna *melt*. It was alright, but nothing to write home about. The tuna itself was relatively cold (should have been warm on a melt) and lacked flavor, the cheese wasn't melted (it's a "melt", right?), and the bread was good. I dipped and drenched in salt, pepper, ranch and hot sauce to give it some flavor. The fries were good, hot and tasty. Overall, it felt like a mid-level café sandwich made by a basic "cook", not a well curated restaurant sandwich. My lunch buddy ordered a smothered omelette that looked great, and he said it was very good, so that was good. *Ambiance: the atmosphere was decent. Very basic, a bit cold feeling, café-like, casual, and reasonably comfortable. Nothing stood out strongly other than it seemed pretty clean and bright. *Value: my tuna melt and fries, with no drink, was $16. Not great, not terrible. It felt like an $8-$10 sandwich max for what I got, not a standout value. I posted a picture of their specials board so you can get a feel for the value. *Overall: everything here was fair, food, service, and ambiance while value was not great. Nothing bad, nothing memorable. A three-star experience for me.
