Had an awful experience with this shop. I had ordered and paid in full for wine to be delivered for a dinner that evening. I waited all day in my apartment but my delivery never arrived. When I inquired, I got JONATHAN on the phone. He told me my wine was left at my apartment door. I told him there is no wine at my door and no one knocked or called my cell phone. He insisted they knocked but I didn't answer...then he added this incredibly obnoxious comment...'We just assumed you didn't want to give a tip so you didn't answer your door, people do that all the time.' I was stunned that he would say such a thing. I assured him I had been home all day (with a tip ready to go!) but NO ONE knocked on my door, no one called me and there is no wine in front of my apartment door. I began to get very upset. He was offering no solutions to help me, he was agitated and he just kept insisting my wine had been delivered to me. I asked if he could send the delivery person back over to show me where he left my wine because it clearly must've been left at the wrong apartment. He was behaving as if I were lying and wouldn't even consider the possibility that his employee might have mistakenly left it at the wrong apartment. He refused to send the delivery guy back over and then became really nasty. It was surreal. He said he would refund me (never did), called me names and then threatened me. This is a man who has my name, address, phone and cc info threatening me. There is something very wrong with this person and I believe he is the owner. At this point I'm inclined to go to the police. This is probably my favorite place to purchase wine in Brooklyn. Whenever I travel to Brooklyn for work I stop by to grab a bottle of wine for my wife. The selection is always tremendous and everyone who works there is very knowledgeable. My wife left me last year, but it was certainly not do to the great quality wine I would bring her from Red, White and Green. Highly recommend. read more

This is one of my favorite wine shops I've ever visited. I'm a bit of a natural and organic wine snob, and this store did not disappoint. They have a vast selection of worldy wines, California wines, organic wines, and rose wine. I went home with a $30 bottle of unfiltered sparkling wine and it was delicious. Very different from your typical sparkling wine, which is why I enjoyed it so much. The staff here are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely visit this place again! read more

My other wine/liquor store is UVA but as of late I am a bigger fan of RWG because of a few reasons: They are helpful (unlike other reviewers I believe the staff are incredibly helpful) and the owners are usually there and very helpful. They almost always have tastings - I personally love to buy wine after I have tasted it and they have great wines available to taste often. I generally buy at least one of the wines I have tasted. (Unlike UVA where only the staff seems to be drinking all the time and don' offer you a taste) RWG has a better selection of wines in a lower price range! and more chilled wines/champagne if you need something cold right away. They have a lot of organic wines! and sulfite free wines. They have an AMAZING selection of hard liquor. They like to buy from artisinal makers and I we have enjoyed several of Ron's suggestions. That's about it...I think RWG has done a great job and I will continue to support them. read more

This place is arguably the best wine shop in the vicinity of the Bedford Avenue L stop. Their clean shop and geographic layout (Italian reds, American whites, Spanish reds, etc.) trumps other shops' preference for shabby chic and varietal organization. I like that I can scan a cultivated Napa Valley section and find Banshee instead of browsing a few shelves of "Pinot Noir" to attempt to locate something I might like from a region I've heard of before. read more

I'm not from here and so I was shocked at how cheap the Maker's was and no delivery fee! They don't have this service back home, but I fell in love with NY a bit more because of here. read more

This is by far the best wine shop in the neighborhood. They have a great selection and knowledgable staff. I've never had a bad recommendation from them based on whatever criteria I give them... I need a wine to stay home and clean my room or I need a wine to take to my boss's dinner party etc. They also seem to have a good rotating group of reps that come through bc ive tasted quite a few great wines and whiskeys in there! Always a plus for me ... The staff is friendly and personable sometimes I pop in with my pup just to cruise around and take a look. Thumbs up RWG! read more

I never thought it likely I'd have a favorite wine shop, but unexpectedly RWG has become a personal fave. It's cause they have quality bottles, cool staff, and all kinds of clientele (many of whom seemed to be making return visits, as I will soon!). The extra touch which endears? Not only are there great people working and great wines to choose; there are handwritten notes describing the only thing anyone really cares about when choosing a wine (WHY WILL WE LIKE IT?). Pretty sure the owners consider me a regular at this point. You'll find me barging into this wine store screaming things like "what goes the best with this burrito I just bought?" or "I honestly just need the cheapest pinot noir you have" and all of the workers have never judged me. Or at least not straight to my face. The employees keep it casual and offer some great advice without making you feel bad for grabbing the $9 bottle of wine instead of the $39 one right next to it. There are also some really neat little notes and descriptions on a lot of the bottles--the workers definitely know a lot more about wine than I do (and perhaps ever will). I guess my only qualm is that the prices aren't the best. Granted, the store is located in prime Williamsburg, so I'm not too bitter about that. Solid 4.5 wine store in my books! pro tip: they sell sake and soju here as well! The sake is a great deal--$3.99 for a bottle of ozeki dry. Grab a couple of those, swing by Harvest Market for giant cans of beer, and you got yourself a good night. read more

I've been a customer at Red, White & Green from the minute they opened their doors. I live across the street and visit the shop at least once a week. Not only is the staff among the most knowledgeable and helpful I've even encountered, they've also created a sense of family for me and the regular customers that come thru their doors. They always remember my preferences -- and on the off-chance that they don't, they keep meticulous records and can look up my wine-loving history. And then on top of it all, their selection is world class!! I very often pop by their weekly tastings and find my new next favorite! I couldn't recommend it more!! I suppose it is inevitable that RWB will be compared to Pier Wines as they are only a block and a half away from each other. I wish I could combine the two stores. RWB has a better overall selection and better wines in the lower and mid range tiers. Pier Wines on the other hand has more interesting bottles from interesting regions (of both wine and liquor), a better high end selection, and does a better job of creating excitement about shopping for wine. That said, I am a fan of RWG and I am in here a couple times a week. read more

I'm a local and have lived in Williamsburg for almost 2 years. I did my homework, and visited most of the local wine shops. I've found that RWG has the most competitive prices, and the best variety of wines. I have never been disappointed with my selections, and have been incredibly impressed with how approachable the employees are. I have experienced over-attentiveness at other shops, and I've been completely ignored at other shops as well. I appreciate RWG employees for being accessible and friendly but not smothering me. They also deliver and I love to order "Staff Favorites". I'm always satisfied with their recommendations. Definitely my go-to wine shop. I live in south Williamsburg, but I much prefer walking further to RWG than going to shops closer to me. Experience and service means a lot to me. read more

Amazing wineshop with a great staff. Highly knowledgable and arent intimidating like in many wine shops where you are usually pointed towards the higher priced items.
