This is a review for Red Wing operations and policy's. First a pair of boots were ordered because they didn't have the needed size. They were unable to tell me when the boots would be delivered. They apparently have 0 access to tracking information within their company or any information on where your package is after ordered. After the boots still weren't delivered after 5 days I just decided to get another pair. I went in store and purchased them and felt good about it. Off to work the next day and within 10 minutes the boots completely disintegrated. The soles were coming off and my foot was completely coming out of the shoe. I went back to the Red Wing store immediately and upon inspection, I was told that the boots were very old from 2014 and they are told to push to sell old boots. David was super helpful and helped me get another pair after this awful situation. This company shouldn't be pushing old boots to people that are going to fall apart. I go through a pair of work boots once every year. The year is up and I'm in the market for some new work boots. Swung into the Red Wing store in Culver City and was told all the sizes are different and need to step on their special contraption to check my size. Unfortunately, you cannot get your shoe size without giving your email and personal information. I'll be over 10 pairs of Red Wings in my career and won't be getting anymore. I had a great experience with an associate by the name of Joy. She made buying a new pair of boots, easy, even offering to clean my old red wing boots. Joy made sure my boots were in stock over the phone, and when I walked in my new boots were there. She offered me inserts, but I already had bought a pair of inserts in the pas and those are still good As I went back to pick up my boots, and they looked amazing. They gave me anew laces brought my old boots back to life. I would normally upload a photo, but I already dirty my boots. The next time I go for a cleaning. I'll update this review. Purchased new boots six months ago, already have a hole straight through the leather. When I brought them in to have looked at I was told "oh, you should've bought this extra stuff when you bought them originally. That always happens". Awesome- $250 boots last less than six months. Perfect. Called customer service- they say someone should've asked me what I do for a living when I went in and they would've told me this would happen. Super helpful. Very disappointed. This review doesn't have anything to do with the boots, they're great. It has to do with the Culver City store. I brought my boots in to be resoled. I payed$100 up front and was told it would take 5-6 weeks. 6 weeks later I get a call stating my boots are in. I drive there in traffic only to find my boots in the same condition I left them, they didn't resole them. I asked what was going on and the clerk stated he didn't know but he'd send them back and he will call me in 6 weeks. That's 3 months total. I asked if he could get them quicker and he said that's how long it takes. WTF? Going on 9 weeks still don't have my boots back. read more

Do not send your boots in for a resole at this location! My boots came back with the wrong soles and completely changed in appearance. My boots had never been oiled, they had a great patina on the rough out leather. I wrote in all caps to not oil. I picked up the boots and they were unrecognizable. read more

So I had been calling around looking for a boot since the website was down and I could not just order them. I call this story which was actually quite a way from me. Manager answered. My 1st question do you have this boot in this size. Her reply I think we do let me check and I'll give you a call back. 3 days later I get a call back from her confirming she has what I was looking for. I then ask are you guys able to ship to me since I live rather far from the store. Her reply of course we can. I give her payment and shipping details and she says you should an email confirmation next day. A week goes by no email I call the store whoever answered the phone said she doesn't know how to ship and will have the manager call me back. Days go by no call apparently the manager only works from 3-5 daily. So I call again again rep takes a message because apparently none knows how to ship things except the manager who is never there long enough to get anything accomplished. I end up driving to the store since no one was calling back to pick up my boots that the manager who was somehow able to process my payment while the computer was down but couldn't ship my purchase. I brought my BRAN NEW Red Wing boots in a few weeks after I got them to get conditioned as recommended, and without asking they also replaced my BRAND NEW laces with cheapo replacement ones that are terrible. When I asked to get them back they said they threw them out and no longer have them. They told me to call customer service to have them send new ones, which I have TWICE and they keep sending the crappy replacements instead of the original styled ones. I appreciate the free laces if they were needed, but these were BRAND NEW! Don't bring your boots here, take them to the Burbank store. They don't throw out perfectly good things and replace them with crap. LOVE the Red Wing boots, though. Great quality, great brand. Just this store is one to avoid. read more

I guess people who have worn Red Wing work boots before really don't need me to write this review. They know how great they are. People who haven't might be really surprised what a great experience it is to own a pair. When I had a lawn to mow and miscellaneous outside chores to do putting on the Red Wings was such a simple, sublime pleasure. Not having your feet kill you after working hard is a great feeling. But they're expensive. Except that they aren't in the long run. Today I took my favorite old work boots in to have them oiled and the stitching repaired in a couple of places. They are like 20 years old now. I have never needed them resoled. They still don't need it. And while I don't need them like I used to I still wear them a few times a year for hiking and cherry picking, etc.. But I digress. What's really important is that it still doesn't cost anything to have them sent for these minor repairs. The people at the store were friendly, knowledgable and courteous. When I need another pair I'll go buy them at this store. They have a lot more styles these days too. When you need a serious pair of boots do yourself (and your feet) a favor and go check them out. read more

My father has a few pairs of Redwings and he loves them. He's an electrician, so he works very, very long hours. These boots last him years, although he does bend a lot so they wear and tear a lot. I went in a few days ago to get them cleaned up & noticed one of the shoes my dad had went through & asked to see if there was any possibility of fixing them. Thankfully Mike, was very willing to help us out. He offered me the option of tough toe but I was nervous since we've tried something similar (it was called steel toe) and it hurt him. We went and Mike put on the tough toe and my dad has no complaints!! He's been working since 6AM (it's 11AM) and called to check on his feet and he absolutely loves them! Their lack of responsiveness and follow-up, as well as their inability to submit a resole request correctly (lack of training or lack of care?), means that I'll be taking my business elsewhere. So, I normally don't write reviews like this, and I'm actually not often inclined to write reviews at all, but this time is different. I tried calling the manager on several different days, but the employee who "sold" me my boots kept picking up so I'm writing a review instead. I put that in quotation marks because it was the most passive sales service I've ever experienced from such a big purchase. With the reputation of Red Wing shoes, I expect that most stores are not run with the type of inconsiderate customer service as this one is, so take this as a review solely of the store. I walk into the empty store, and I'm greeted with a nonchalant face and a meager "Hi." I start looking for the boots I want (I had a good idea). And she asks if I need help. Pretty good. I say I think I know, but I'll let her know. Not seeing the Roughnecks anywhere, I start to ask her if she has them but I'm interrupted with a sharp "No" and she looks back at the computer. Ok so I'm shopping for nearly $300 boots and this isn't a good start. I ask her if she has the new 6" Mocs and Roundtoes in size 10. She looks for all of 10 seconds, comes back with the Mocs, and says they don't have the others. She hands me one shoe and goes back to the computer. I try it on, walk with my mismatched shoes for a couple of minutes, and then ask for the other one. No questions from her the whole time about how they feel, no information about how they should fit. They feel big so I ask for the 9.5. Again she hands me a single shoe and goes back to the computer. Try it on, ask for the second, walk around in them for at least 5 minutes trying to gauge if they feel right, contemplating spending the $300 on shoes that I find out only by looking on my phone that I can't return. She "helps" some other customers (one of whom waited nearly 10 minutes for help, only to find out that his custom order that was supposed to be ready wasn't there, and even though he had work that day she "couldn't make them appear" nor could she substitute them for anything else, and only when he grilled her to look again did she find them. Whoops). I literally had to ask "I should be able to wiggle my toes, right" and get a curt "yes". I contemplate again for a while, now feeling unenthusiastic about shoes I've wanted for YEARS, and ask about orthotics. This is literally the only thing she's mildly helpful about, because she points me to a pair of insoles that are stiff and returnable up to 90 days. I finally decide to get them, so she, again, unenthusiastically tells me to come up, gives me the total (shoes + maintenance supplies + insoles=$419!!!!) and takes my card. Barely a "have a good day" and I'm off. The only reason I bought them was because I knew they were good and I needed them, but this is the kind of service you expect at Ross, not a boutique shoe store with those kinds of price tags. So now I'm left with boots I'm only somewhat certain will be good for my feet, that I can't return. I don't have any idea why she works there. read more

This was my third visit to this shop and had nothing particularly good or bad to yelp about between my first two visits. This third visit however, definitely worth noting.. Javier, in my opinion is one of the finest examples of EXCELLENCE! Exceptionally polite, respectful, courteous, and helpful. Someone who really takes it upon themselves to make an effort to be of service. Definitely made a lasting impression of what a top shelf employee resembles. I've been to this store only three times because everything I've bought here lasts forever. I bought my first pair of red wings over two decades ago. They never even wore out. I ended up losing them when I was moving from one apartment to another. I went back and bought two pair of 1811's so I could have a black and a brown pair. I've had them for almost a decade now and they are still like new. I also went back and bought fire-boot zipper laces so that I could put them on fast when going through airport security. Every time I come here the place just feels friendly. Great service and good products. They even showed me how to lace in the zippers so they fit right and aren't too loose. read more

The most shittiest shoe store in the whole wide world!!!. They don't offer size 14, you have to special order it, to me that is a waste of time for a customer. This shoe store is not meant for tall people and tall people should not go here. I also heard they have a horrible return policy you need have a receipt of your purchase and they do not store it in their system. The last time I gone to Red Wing shoes they were the only shoe store to carry size 14 on hand. So without any questioning that is why I'm giving a one star.
