This is the location you want to go to if you are in the market for work shoes/ boots. I recently went with my husband to purchase new work boots,, we normally go here or Concord depending on our travels. This visit we were informed they converted to an entirely new system which meant they had none of the years worth of sizing and purchasing history available due to a database issue. Instantly annoyed, not so much at the staff but the situation and inconvenience. The person whom I assume is the manager (I did not get names) was on it! He checked the back up and found everything. Redemption! They then advised as part of the new system my husband had to have his feet scanned through the digitized system for accuracy. He was not into it, I was. It was a very cool process that measures exactly how long each foot is and how your body distributes your weight when you walk. Very cool and useful information IMO. I expressed interest in having the experience and the salesperson logged me in and digitized my feet as well. The selection of steel toe boots is no longer limited to a typical boot. They have steel toe tennis shoes too. They sell all the accessories you can imagine. What I found was the coolest thing ever was these little labels where if someone wanted to gift their treasured item to someone they can personalize it with these labels. Iv been using boot voucher and buying boots at different red wing stores for 20 years and over the years red wing boots have gotten very hard and uncomforftable. but today the sales lady I think her name was lona she and the guy working with her took time went over my voucher and told me I Dident need the puncher proof sole which made the boot softer. this store is 25 miles from my home I would return. read more

I purchased a pair of work boots in February and absolutely loved them! However after about 6 months of weekly work in water, beer, and chems the leather hardened and tore horribly on the right boot. I took the boots back to the store a little disappointed that they did not last long but quickly Marlene came in and saved the day! she got me in another pair through warranty and we talked about the work environment they're put through and some extra cleaning/conditioning steps that can go into making sure the leather on these pair last (found I may need to condition and oil a little more often). The whole team seemed there to help, knowledgeable, and were super friendly. Really appreciate her and the team in Fairfield for helping keep my feet dry and comfy! (Also sorry for the DE covered boots! I didn't want to spray them off with the tear and get water in them!) read more

Sent my dads boots back that were made in 2004 with Supersoles on them. I asked for wedge sole and they did an amazing job!! Couldn't be happier with the resole. My third incident here. All 3 have been bad customer service all the way around. Walked in at 1:30 today and was told they couldn't take anymore customers, they have to take lunch. A store that already runs a limited shift on Sunday doesn't stagger their lunches on a Sunday afternoon? Turns away hundreds of dollars of revenue real quick. With the Covid thing I try to limit my time in stores. They made it very easy for me. I called the store spoke with the manager. She checked to see if my boots were in stock. Unfortunately they weren't but my size isn't very common. She ordered them for me and contacted me when they arrived. When I went in the staff was very friendly and helpful. The store looked very clean and the staff were all wearing masks. They made this an easy pleasant transaction in not so pleasant times. read more

My complaint is about the boots themselves and not the service. I bought my Irish setters less then a year ago, and they already need to be replaced. The leather at the toe wore a hole within 6 months and the stitching started coming apart. The soles are already shot and worn thin. I don't do heavy construction, just light maintenance, and these boots couldn't even withstand that, I could only imagine if I was out on a construction site. For the price they are not worth it. I will not buy boots from redwings again. I have paid half the price for boots and had them last for twice as long. read more

Really devoted customer service; I had an unexpectedly awesome experience getting the steel toe boots I needed for work here. The salesperson patiently sized my feet and gave me a good overview of their work boot selection. My mom was with me and is the queen of coupons and was going through her phone for any discounts. The salesperson then proceeded to take my mom's phone and managed to find a coupon for 20$ off! I've never seen a salesperson so determined to help her customer save money. She took the extra step of printing me another receipt, and let me know that Red Wing Shoe offers: - 1 year warranty; first 6 months allow free replacement if any defects are found, last 6 months allow 50% off purchase of replacement boot if any defects are found - Free shoe laces, oiling of the shoes, and eyelet replacement for the life of the boot. For years, I had a certain boot that I loved by WORX, and went through Leola and her crew to get them semi-annually. One time, she even had a pair shipped up here from Texas to accommodate me. They discontinued my particular boot in 2020, and I wore all of mine out, so I had to find something that was similar to what I was wearing. Needing new boots immediately, I went to the Red Wing store in Oakland because I actually work in Oakland. Big mistake. They sold me a pair of boots that they said were comparable to what I was wearing before. Well, my hips started hurting really bad from the boots and so last Friday, I went back up to see Leola and her team. I made a big mistake not going up there first. Leola directed me to a new type of shoe that meets my company's steel toe requirements and I absolutely love them. If you care about your feet and body, go to Fairfield Red wing and see them. My wife tried to bring in 2 pairs of boots to be cleaned with our young daughter. Salesperson didn't acknowledge her nor attempt to help her. She walked out fuming. I was just in the Fairfield, CA location today (1/19/2020) with my friend who is a customer. He was there to exchange a pair of boots because after wearing them for a longer time than just trying them on in store, they were too narrow and uncomfortable (he will need to be wearing these for over 8 hours a day). We were there to exchange for just a wider size boot, after he bought them less than a week ago. Upon speaking with the person at the register, they told us that the exchange could not be done because they were "worn" and now a "used boot" even though they had no wear down and just some dirt on the soles. The manager then came over and was extremely patronizing when we tried to explain that we should be able to exchange within the 30 day comfort guarantee. He was rude and spoke over us when we tried to explain our understanding of the guarantee. They then said we could return the boots for the full price but they would NOT sell us another pair. So we got our money back and we are taking our business elsewhere. It was an incredibly upsetting experience that left us feeling humiliated and steamrolled by impatient and inconsiderate staff. I understand that we may not have understood the comfort guarantee correctly but how the staff treated us as if we were stupid was absolutely inappropriate, unprofessional, and consequently we will not be making any purchases again with this store. When purchasing something that expensive and of that quality, I expect staff to be helpful and accommodating in making the boots as comfortable and best for the customer. This was the opposite of our experience. We will not be coming back to this store. read more

I bought a new pair of boots from this store back in August of last year. The sales rep gave me his full attention and had no problem answering all of my questions(when you pay this much for a pair of boots you want to make sure you get the ones you need!). What impressed me the most though was after about five months I had a problem with the boots. I brought them in to get repaired and without even asking the sales rep handed me a brand new pair of boots covered under warranty. No issues or problems just here ya go! You are sized, measured and fitted. its amazing how good a properly fitting shoe feels. they also offered to oil my new boots since they looked a little dry. They even gave me these little American flags since the boots i bought were made here the U.S (wouldnt have it any other way). this place is awesome and was really a life save for my feet since im on them 12 hours a day and have planter fasciitis. read more
